Burrito salad - awesome! Loved the cilantro rice...only downside is I thought the dressing had too much lime Steak Fajita quesadilla - decent but caution: too much grease!

Great vibes, makes sense why it's most student's favorite bar in Boone. There's upstairs with the stage and downstairs with pool tables, and the porch outside for different vibes and the food is good. Service and bartenders are nice and attentive. Willing to make you whatever comes to mind to try if you have a request and accommodate.

Though I'm not much of a bar person, Boone Saloon is my kind of place. This is a chill bar with plenty of space to spread out, relax, hang out, and have a conversation with friends. There are two levels with plenty of seating, making it great for groups. Best of all, there's an arcade downstairs with pool tables, pinball, Skee-Ball, and old school arcade games. A server at Lost Province Brewing Co down the street, where we stopped for happy hour drinks and appetizers, actually recommended this place to us, so this was our next stop. We ended up staying for a while (no other stops required). Two levels = two bars, both outfitted with TVs. The main level (street level) has a jukebox and stage where live music is played. If you decide to queue up some songs on the jukebox, just know that the staff can skip over any song they don't like. One of my friends requested Escape by Rupert Holmes (The Piña Colada Song) and about 20-30 seconds in, it was skipped over for the next song. Along with the bar and games, the lower level has loveseats and other living room and lounge-like furniture. When we visited, there were four pinball machines, Golden Tee Golf, a racing game, retro 80s arcade cabinets, fighting games like Street Fighter II: Champion Edition and Mortal Kombat 4, shooting games, and a four-player co-op game (Captain America and The Avengers). All in all, it was a nice mix of games and all of the machines were in working order. All games, except for Captain America, cost 25 cents per play. Captain America cost 50 cents. There's a change machine if you need quarters. The Saloon has a decent-looking food menu offering Mexican food, traditional pub grub (e.g. fish and chips, wings, fries), soups, salads, different varieties of mac and cheese, burgers, and several kinds of sandwiches. The prices are reasonable as most dishes are under $10 each. The drinks are reasonably priced as well with most single servings of draft and canned/bottled beer only $2-5 each. They had over a dozen beers on tap and over 20 packaged. They also had over a half-dozen wines by the glass ($7) and bottle ($24). My friends ordered a lot of drinks including pitchers. I didn't drink, but instead ordered a Barritts Bermuda Ginger Beer for $4 + tax. It was yummy. The staff and other patrons were nice.

Bar is for younger crowd. Attempted to play pool it was a 45 minute wait. Drinks were good upstairs. Probably wouldn't go back.

Showed up and got confronted by a rude employee that resembles Howie Mandel. Not a ton of seating upstairs. Don't recommend.

Way overpriced and awful selection. Don't waste your time on this bar. Much better bars in Boone besides this one.

To the important part , Howard Station is a must stop whether you are a local or from out of town . As soon as you enter you will be warmly greeted and given seating options . We chose to sit at the bar and were given excellent service . From how quickly we were given our drinks to the turn around on ordering and receiving our food , it was exceptional !!! I chose to try the maple bacon wings . Guys , I could eat a bucket of these !! They come out golden brown , lightly crisped on the outside and super tender smoked chicken meat on the inside . The dry rub - maple complement each other immensely well, you get salty , you get sweet, you get maple syrup smells , it's an A+ experience in addition to the warm safe ambiance . We started off with the pimento cheese plate which was just right for an app: not too filling, yet was enjoyable. I went with the lunch combo option and selected lobster bisque soup and Asian salad. The soup was phenomenal, but I wish the Asian dressing for the salad wasn't so runny and had more flavor. Good variety menu. But know, this place isn't for the budget conscious. Server was prompt and efficient. Mae got a grilled chicken salad and an adult grilled cheese and I got the regular burger all-the-way. Food came out quickly but not too quickly. Mae enjoyed her salad and ate 1/2 the grilled cheese. She got full. The grilled cheese was big and oozing with cheesy goodness. My burger was very good. 9/10. Came with lettuce, onion, bacon, tomato and Mayo. The fries were hot and crispy. Good food forks, plain and simple. But lunch for both of us was $35 not including tip. I don't mind paying for good food just know the prices are a bit high before you go there.
