I was worried with such a beer-focused menu that the food wouldn't stand out. My husband likes beer, but my parents and I aren't big fans of it. But we were looking for somewhere with outdoor seating and mid-level price point casual (but good!) food. This was a great choice. A reservation would be wise on a Friday night. Service was friendly if a little absent. My husband got a flight, and $8 for 20 oz of craft beer is such a reasonable price. The food is excellent: -classic pretzel with beer cheese: I'm not a huge pretzel fan, but this is so good. Don't skip the honey and house mustard for dipping, and obviously beer cheese is always a good idea -brussels sprouts: really good with the peppers and barley and bacon. The actual sprouts were just okay, but the toppings made up for it. -smoked sausage "sandwich": my husband got this one. I tried a bite, and the sausage was amazingly smoky. He loved the slaws (one vinegar, one mayo) -hot honey chicken sandwich: really good. Chicken thighs are the superior meat. Their honey is so amazing. Garlic mayo and the Cody sauce we're both good with it if you're a sauce lover. The stickboy bun is so good. Their fries are some of my favorite. -Booneshine burger: straight forward, solid burger. My dad was really happy, and they honored his request for a well-done burger, which often doesn't happen. The only thing I'd wish for would be more non-beer beverages. They were out of their house soda, which I would have loved to try. There aren't any cocktails on the menu, which is a bummer because I bet they would be great. A few more non-pretzel small plates would be nice as well. But anyway- definitely worth your time. Give it a try! read more

If you are looking for delicious food, look no further. We ordered the Crispy Brussels Sprouts and the Warm Pretzel with Beer Cheese. They came warm, fresh and so tasty! Then we ordered their Seasonal Local Salad and it came with warm roasted root veggies on a bed of arugula, with goat cheese and cranberry pecan crunch and a lemon-honey dressing. Oh! Me, my wife and a couple of friends came here on Friday July 3rd for dinner and to have a few drinks. We ordered our beers and sat at the beer garden (pretty cool setup). They were charging a 18% fee for gratuity (which I have no problem with) however, you cannot keep a tab open which I found ridiculous. Anyways, we were seated and greeted by our server. She return one more time to explain that the kitchen was behind and we would not be able to place an order until 20 mins had pass. Sure, it's inconvenient for people who are starving but it's fine. 49 minutes had passed, out first beers had been drank and our server was nowhere to be found. I was so close to order a few pizzas from a local pizza join but my wife stood up and grabbed the attention of a worker who was extremely friendly and professional even though I know I was not being an easy customer. He took our ordered and said it would be about in about 20-30 mins max since they were backed up in the kitchen (the indoor seating area was pretty empty and there were a good amount of people outside however they were not slammed, so I don't understand how they were backed up). Our food took a good 30 mins to come and to be honest it was not worth the wait. The beer was good, food was average at best and service was horrible. Their saving grace was the guy that took our order and was doing the job of the server who was just horrible (she should not be doing this job). To say the least, I will definitely not be returning to this place. That may change in the future but I highly doubt it. I think the new rule of a 18% gratuity charge has made the servers lazy since they are for sure getting their "tip" no matter what. Maybe once this virus is done for service will be better... We were charged this 18% 'covid' fee twice... once when we ordered our beer and then again once we're ordered our food and second round of beer. read more

We came here with a small group as part of my birthday weekend in Boone, and I could not have picked a better place to put on our itinerary. The location was great, and the views were even better. It's the type of rural vibe you want when you're in the mountains. The outdoor seating area was perfect, even on a chilly day, thanks to the patio heaters. The beers were good, but we were all blown away by the food. Probably the best food I've ever had at a brewery. I got the soft pretzel as an app and the seasonal salad as my main course. The Flatbreads and Warm Grains Bowl were delicious according to our friends. Service was great, as well. Our server (apologies for forgetting his name) was extremely attentive, even with how busy they were. Don't skip this place. We can't wait to come back. read more

Many there for this Friday lunch had reservations but we did not as this was our first time. They still found us a seat, and then got right to business. My favorite spot in Boone to grab craft beer. Good variety of crafts to choose from and lots of unique flavors. Although they can't serve beer directly from the brewery, this gem is nestled into the brewery's neighboring restaurant, Basil. They make some if the most unique beer styles I've seen in that area. The servers are very knowledgeable, which is always a plus because they can recommend things you might have never tried if not for the recommendation. For instance, I had a raspberry stout that was full of flavor but not something I would normally drink. If you've got some time to kill, this is a must visit when you're in the high country! read more

First time here on a Sunday afternoon after a long hike. My grapefruit sour was delish! I couldn't give 5 stars because I had several cons unfortunately. For one it's not very dog friendly, the beer garden had zero shade or grass seating. No water bowls (luckily I brought one) and the gravel was hot and rough. Secondly there was only one person working the beer garden - taking orders and filling drinks. Too much for the poor guy to run around like that! There was a number system which I also was confused about. I ordered a beer, got my beer, then carried my number around.. why? I closed my tab. Odd. I also ordered a pack of cans to go and paid for it before he realized they were all sold out. Although I'm sure these kinks are due to corona and resources, it was all a bit confusing and chaotic! We had been trying to make it to Booneshine for a few years now but every weekend trip we took featured a 2+ hour wait to get in. This past trip, we finally had enough wait time to experience it! The beer was decent, I am a fan of darker beers (a bit anti IPA but heard those are also delicious) and found their selection and quality to be decent. I wouldn't say it is my favorite beer in the area but it is still decent. The food and service were very pleasurable! Our table had a few appetizers and two entrees, all came out to order and in a timely manner. I am not quite sure if we found it to be completely worth the two hour wait but we did enjoy our experience. In the future, we will be returning (if the wait time is less). read more

Growing up in Boone, it's so crazy to see this place pop up! It's in the newly claimed "east Boone" and is just what you want when you picture a brewery in the mountains. It has open garage doors, rustic decor, friendly smiles and incredible food, oh and the beer, the beer is perfect! I split a burger, fries and the flatbread with the table. I couldn't get enough of any of it. I am always skeptical of burgers out, especially at places that have just opened because they typically haven't nailed it yet. But, Booneshine has nailed it! It's juicy, full of flavor and makes you want to come back the next day. And the fries, with their crispiness, perfect amount of seasoning and being fresh-cut, make it the perfect accompanist to the burger. Oh, and I can't forget the flatbread. Oh, my! It's similar to naan, the cheese they use is different, but goes perfectly. And it's a great dish if you aren't super hungry and want some leftovers. They have a wide beer selection and even carry cider! I love beer, but I love the option of cider. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly and happy to help you figure out what you want. Well the new place looks just great! They built it really well and made it very appeasing to the eyes. However I feel they should have made it just a tad bigger! People in Boone love their craft beer and we arrived on a normal Saturday and the place was hoppin! The wait was up around 1.5 hours. We decided to just grab a few beers and head somewhere else for food. They serve beers from a line that runs near where you come through the door so that got a little confusing when the lines for both beer and reserving a table got long. Then after getting beers theres a question of where you can even drink the beers. Of course all the tables were filled and the bar was full. Upstairs was full. It was a brisk 40ish degress outside but even all the tables were filled (standing room) out there. We kind of hung out by the stairs for the few beers we had and it wasn't bad. We were able to sneak a stool from the nearby table that wasn't being used. The beers were obviously phenomenal. They have been producing and will continue to produce awesome beer. They have a ton to decide from and drinks for the non-beer drinker in the group including N/A options. The food coming from the kitchen did look great and smelled awesome but that is all I can comment on at the moment! I would very much like to go back again and hit them at a time where the line isn't hanging out the door to get in! The new Booneshine location off of Industrial Blvd is top notch. I was hesitant about this new brewery erecting after having untethered loyalty to AMB down the road. In addition, in the past, I had tasted some of Booneshine's beers previously and never liked them very much at all. In fact, I purposely stayed far away from them anytime I saw them being offered on a menu or beer list. That said, I gave this place a shot, and I can honestly say that the new beers are on point. The facility is clean, spacious, hipster-ish, and fun. You can sit at the bar, at a table with table service, or chill outdoors. Perfect place to bring friends, family, or colleagues. Kids are welcome, too. The food is also really good, especially the pretzel. I know this post seems sort of lame, but I don't know what else to write about how pleased I am. The vibe and beer are good so I was super excited to try this place. That was until our server came over and said, hey I guess I'm responsible for you guys. That's when the experience went down hill for us. Really? Not a great first impression... We then ordered the "cheese" board as an appetizer. Turns out of food came out first and then the cheese board. I did not see Taylor (our server) again until my burger was half gone. When she did come over I told her that our cheese board came out after our food and my burger was over cooked. She said sorry about that and walked away. We will not be back here to eat but I sure do hope that they get it together soon. There are lots of restaurants around here with much better service. read more
