I'm not proud of it, but admit to being a bit of a beer snob. As such I've never been one to visit every local brewery in the immediate area, though with the prompting of friends I am game to try a few. A very special friend has been trying to get me to visit needle creek for awhile now, and she doesn't even drink beer. My first visit here with a few folks had me smiling more than is normal for me. And it wasn't just the beer. It was the whole vibe of the place. This seems to be a larger location than the few other NJ breweries I've been to recently, and they have more activities going such as music and food trucks. The last 2 times I was here the food was very good and somewhat reasonable in terms of food trucks. The musical performances have been much better than average too, on all 3 visits. With its large space inside and out you never feel crowded. As a working farm there are plenty of animals out and about, and the children love it. Perhaps my biggest reason for liking this place is the family atmosphere. On all occasions I witnessed several generations of families enjoying themselves while the kids and grandkids just danced to the music and chased the tolerant animals. When you think about it, how much better can it get than watching families have fun in a safe and supportive space. The beer, food and music all combine to create a place where humans can be humans in a natural environment. The mundane differences that usually separate us are put aside for a little while and we remember we are all one big family(ok, that may be the beer talking...) 4.5 stars! read more

This brewery is gorgeous! A lovely farmland location, set at least a quarter mile in from the main road. Chickens and farm dogs were free-roaming around, and there's ample indoor + outdoor seating. We didn't eat during our visit, but they did have a Cousins Maine food truck on site on the Saturday evening that we were there. There was also a live acoustic band playing music, and a rustic farm-style playground area for little kids. The beer-tenders were friendly and informative. read more

My Husband & I came to cheek out Needle Creek for the 1st time last month, 07/25! We loved the farm and all the animals! Very children friendly & i believe you can feed the animals too! When we went they had 2 options of food vendors which both looked & smelled amazing but we just went for beers! The staff was super friendly & they had a good selection of different beers from lagers, hoppy beers, hazy IPAs, sour, & Seltzer! The brewery had a lot of outdoor seating & a decent amount of indoor space as well! I am actually a part of a girl group who goes to different breweries once a month! One of the most beautiful NJ breweries I've ever been to (and I've been to a lot!). On a huge farm so tons of space. Plenty of parking, plenty of indoor and outdoor seating (including a huge and gorgeous rustic but chic barn where the taps are), plenty of space for little kids to run around and plenty of farm animals for them to check out. My girlfriend and I visited on a Sunday afternoon in November on a picture perfect fall day. Clear skies, cool temps, live music, pleasantly full but not obnoxiously crowded . Everything about this place is five stars... except for the beer. Three stars at best. Eight beers on tap plus one seltzer so between us we tried most of the menu. It was all pretty average. I was going to complain about the Midnight Hayride, which is a stout, thinking they must have a weird interpretation of what a stout can be, because the beer we were given did not look or taste anything like a stout. But I looked at their website just now with a picture of their stout, and it turns out we were just flat out given the wrong beer in our flights. It's a shame we didn't get to try that one. Overall I recommend this as a great place to take the kids and spend an afternoon. Come here for the atmosphere but don't make a pilgrimage for the beer. read more

Needle Creek Farm Brewery is one of those places that makes you slow down the moment you pull in. You're not walking into a polished taproom in an industrial park -- you're stepping onto a real working farm, and that's very much the point. The barn itself is beautiful in that honest, weathered way. Big old beams, lots of natural light, and plenty of space to spread out. We grabbed a flight and headed outside, where you can sit at picnic tables, watch the cows, and just take in the quiet. It feels rural without feeling remote -- a great change of pace. The beer is solid across the board. Nothing felt rushed or gimmicky. The IPA was bright and easy to drink, the blonde was clean and refreshing, and the darker beers had depth without being heavy. Knowing they grow their own barley on site and brew on a traditional system somehow makes it all taste a little better. What really sticks with you is the experience. You can smell hay, hear the animals, feel the breeze -- this isn't a themed "farm-style" brewery, it's the real thing. It's relaxed, unpretentious, and genuinely welcoming. Staff were friendly and happy to talk beer without hovering. It's also a great spot to bring family or friends who aren't hardcore beer people. There's room to wander, things to look at, and a general store next door if you want to take something home. If you're looking for flashy hype beers, this might not be your place. But if you want good beer, a beautiful setting, and a reminder that craft brewing can still feel grounded and human, Needle Creek is well worth the trip. read more

I'm so happy I found this spot so close to home! We needed a place like this out here. Family friendly and parent friendly! They have so many free activities for the kids- feeding cows, pigs, the playground. They let you bring the kids inside the beautiful restored barn and you can order a delicious beer and the kids can play with all the games inside. They even make their own soda which was yummy. The staff are all awesome. They have live music, food trucks. Just an all around fun place and beautiful setting. I have a feeling we'll be there a lot this summer! read more

Three of us plus my friend's 2 year old daughter went here on a Saturday. I know that sounds weird for a brewery but this place is kid friendly. There was a little playground and lots of animals. There was also pumpkin picking. The property is really nice. Lots of parking. There was also Nomad pizza with their truck. Pizza was really good but I think way overpriced. Now for the really good part. The beer was really good. I had the Mr Pig and the Vienna lager. My friend got the pumpkin ale and enjoyed it. All were very good. I'm a picky beer drinker and like my beer at the right temperature and this beer was perfect. They also have to go beer. They come in 32oz crowlers. They also have root beer and I think one other non alcoholic drink. The root beer was very good. All the servers I talked to were very nice. We met the owner and he was super nice and helpful. What an awesome place! Came as a family. My toddler absolutely loved seeing the cows and pigs. We visited on a really warm day, spent most of our time inside. Got to listen to live music, i ordered a flight-everything I tried was delicious. We also ordered some food from one of the trucks outside. My son got to play with some toy trains. Yesterday was our first visit to this new brewery at a working farm (John Hart). The main barn has been stylishly decorated with ample seating and tables. Place was packed when we arrived at 1pm in the pouring rain. Great festive vibe. Workers going around talking to patrons. Farm dog meandering around looking for back scratchers. They are currently offering 4 beers and a root beer. We did the sampler including the root beer, then the girls got the IPA and I got the ale (Post and beam). Both very tasty. The root beer was pretty good too. Almost more birch beer tasting than traditional root beer. They are working on a stout which should be ready in about a month. There was live music (single guitar player) at an appropriate volume. There was a food truck out back and small store in an adjacent building selling pretzels and farm products. Merch was available at the bar. This is a working farm and the parking lot is crushed stone. I suggest you wear appropriate shoes. I wore my boondockers. No dogs allowed. I really liked the vibe here. It's a beautiful, spacious farm with cows, pigs, chickens, horses and goats. There are a few farm dogs that wander freely. We met Butler who was so calm and sweet. The inside bar area is welcoming and beautiful. The beer is delicious and I liked that they had flights so you could try a bunch! The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food truck food was delicious! The kids had a ton of fun in the corn pit and playground. There was also live music but we sat outside. We got ice cream at the general store afterward. It was a great afternoon! I definitely recommend you go! Here's what my 6 year old son had to say: Awesome and cool and I like the corn pit. I really like the orange juice and it was also really fizzy and yummy and also I'm gonna give it four stars. it also had really nice animals and I had some friends coming with me too. Love the atmosphere there, very laid back. Bartenders are friendly and patient especially when trying different beers. FYI nothing better than taking a crowler home for later. There is a different food truck on site but whichever is the pizza one is their vodka sauce pizza is the best.
