I was browsing the selection of boots online and found some that were in stock and looked really nice. They had four 5-star reviews. While that's not a lot of reviews, I was impressed that they would get all 5s. I had just decided that I would drive to the store to try them on when I decided to read the reviews. NONE of them were for boots--they were all for dishes! For example, "Beautiful dishware I am in love with my new dishes. The color is heavenly and the elegant, yet earthy quality is breathtaking." Come on! If you're going to post fake reviews or reviews of actual products (all the reviews were marked as "authentic reviews") but not the product the reviews are supposedly about, at least make them reviews about a similar product. This deception led me to look into the company more, and seems they are not known to be great to deal with, so I will just look for my boots elsewhere. read more

More like the Patriarchy Barn. Went in to get some new work boots and after walking about 6 or 7 isles of mens work boots, I was shown to a single shelf with 3 pairs of womens work boots. Unfortunately, an employee signed me up for rewards "B rewarded" without my consent. I was in the store yesterday to make a return. I had my receipt, tags on the boots, and was within the timeframe. The girl requested my name and phone number (normal) and also my email. When I asked why the email was needed, she stated for a digital receipt. I found it unnecessary as I always opt for paper receipts but provided anyway. She also asked for my drivers license, "because it would be easier than asking the information verbally." This seemed really weird to me, but she said it was necessary to make the return. It turns out the girl signed me up for rewards without asking. I called today to notify the manager, and requested to be removed, and she did remove my information from the system. I was calm. I didn't request anything additional. With that said, it was like she missed the point completely and was dismissive of my concerns. She made sure to tell me it was only emails and points for when I make a purchase - like she was annoyed I was calling at all. She also made sure to tell me the employee couldn't create a rewards account without me providing my information. True, but again, the employee LIED and stated it was for the return which I intended to make. Do I really have to enter a store and sus out what is a legitimate request and what isn't? I'm not in a position to argue with an employee about return policy. Customers should not be lied to and sensitive information should not be taken without consent. Consumers should be asked, not tricked. No means no in every other part of society. Unethical. End of story. I won't be returning. As an FYI to women with smaller feet, this isn't the store for you as the selection is very limited. Edit: I told my sister about the experience and she said that this also happened to her and our mutual friend at a different location (recently). She said it was super weird they were asked for their drivers licenses, but felt naive and awkward and didn't argue about it......they will be calling to cancel as they were not asked to sign up. As I walked into the boot barn, I was looking for certain shirts selections, and a lot of them look like they were just thrown in piles that she had to sift through them to find the size and the selection, and it was not organized. Manager was on site with multiple staff people, but they're all by the register with only 2 to 3 customers they're browsing around the store needs to be organize more like the ones we seen at other locations. read more

Then another girl I asked said this is the women's department, gesturing to all the female clothes. As we walked into the store we heard a female voice yell out 'welcome.' There were 2 female employees near the registers and a male employee nearby who also then said 'welcome.' Not one of them asked us if we needed help. Ever. We were one of 3 customers that I could see. Not busy at all. We couldn't locate what we were looking for so we went back to the registers area and asked. One of the female employees pointed across the store and said look over there. We found what we wanted. We went to the register where there was one customer checking out. The Amy Winehouse employee asked me for my phone number but then did not say one single word. Not to us. She did talk to the other female employee. She didn't say hello, tell me if I do or don't have any reward points (which I've always been informed of) or ask me if I found what I wanted. I paid with my card and then she stared at me. Apparently she put the receipt in the bag but didn't tell me and I was waiting for it. So I looked at her, about to ask for the receipt and she said Yes? Like I was bothering her. I looked in the bag, saw my receipt and walked out. She didn't say thank you. I love Boot Barn but I will never return to that location. Their customer service is terrible. read more

The Boot Barn in South Park Meadows Austin has gone down. They were closed for 2 days and not even corporate knew why it was closed. I had an ordered delivery sent here for a Bday present for my son. 2 days I drove back and forth and called and had no succes. I show up today Saturday and they give me a bag that looked small and the cashier wanted me to sign for it I told her I'm not signing for it I had a large order and she's like I can't open it until u Sign for it. she's like if the Order is not here I can order it. I said I'm not coming back to this store I have been here several times this week and y'all were closed. Finally she finds my 3 bags. Never will I come back to southpark meadows store. read more

Boot barn, it's a story, the manager I think her name is Brindy, seems very rude and not to assume anything is clearly showing some racial profiling. I, a 26 year old Hispanic girl, felt a wave of emotions towards her. And is very rude to her workers. I witnessed her aggressively yelling at her workers who all of the time don't say anything back well what would you say to a mean old lady screaming at you for pressing the wrong button. I mean doesn't that show that she didn't train them right if they are completely confused. It should fall on the responsibility of the manager to do something about it and not yell at them in front of other costumers. Not including that fact that majority of the time your there you don't see here helping them out and only yelling at them. These poor kids, it's not their fault they haven't been properly trained for the positions they have. I see no skill in any of them just them needing a good and positive manager who helps provide with a good environment to work in. It's only bad vibes. But they try and I applaud them for it. For the age that they are they act very respectful and nice towards their costumers. But their manager is just a different bread, she is just too rude and especially people of color, and is only in the back siting down. Very bad service from her but the workers deserve better, a better manager. Please do something about this I'm tired of watching this grown woman treat these kids like they were her own. So I had gone to boot barn to buy some boot on Saturday the December 19th. I had bought some Post Dan alligator boots. After a few days went by I was wearing my boots for the second time, when I notice that the cracks of the gator skin started to discolor and the bottom of the soles were coming in stitched. I went in today to return the boots and explain what was going on. The Same lady who I had opened up my account with was the same one I was making my return with. After letting her know I would like to return them, she got an attitude, blamed me for the reason the boots were messing up, telling me the boots needed to be conditioned, and that she would go ahead a do a courtesy return. I was like are u serious right now? Spending $400 + for boots and I get an attitude. After all the bulls***, I still ended up getting a different pair and still ended up spend $150 more for the price difference. Come to find out the red headed lady with the attitude was the damn manager to the store. Yeah I don't think I would be going there again. read more

Stopped in here to buy some boots. It was early so there weren't many others in the store. First time visiting Texas and I wanted to pick up some "souvenirs". I explained to 'Clarissa' just what type I was looking for. She was very helpful, and patient, while helping me find a pair of Ariats. Clarissa couldn't have been nicer helping this slicker from up north finding just what I was looking for . After finding my boots, I also picked out some jeans and a western belt. 'Mariah' was also so nice and helpful to me. (Returned next morning to exchange jeans for next size up - either wishful thinking or too much Texas BBQ) ! ! I used to love this store until I found out how the manager treats her employees, she spends her time talking to not only me but as well other customers about how her employees don't know anything and can't run the store without her, my respect to the hard working young kiddos there putting up with a mean and distraught manager. There is as well lots of racial profiling happening here and it's the manager who does this not her employees. Not only is there racial profiling she as well gives an attitude that not worth coming to this location anymore. She openly yells at her employees in front of customers instead of guiding them and teaching them the correct way. I love this place! They really stand behind their products. I had a small hole in the seem of my boot. It had been several months and I didn't have a receipt. I didn't think that they would refund my money so because I really loved my new boots I took them to a repair shop. They completely ruined my boots. I was so upset! I decided to just buy another pair of boots. When I was in the store I talked to the manager and told him about my issues. He said to bring the boots back in and he would see what he could do. I thought maybe a small store credit or percentage back since I had waited too long , had no receipt, and I had altered the boots. But he really went above and beyond giving me a full refund. I had two consecutive nightmares with Sheplers who has this impossible to understand relationship with Boot Barn (and I would add that Sheplers employees cannot explain the relationship either). So I took boots into this shop and dealt with a woman named Wendy (maybe the store manager?). She could not have been more helpful, more knowledgeable and offered numerous suggestions and solutions. She spent a lot of time with me and we finally got things sorted out. I understand what another reviewer has said about the store seems to be short-staffed as that was my impression on a previous visit. However some of that may be because the two people with whom I have dealt on two separate visits have spent a lot of time with me and I suspect they do with all customers. read more

Then the one who showed up couldn't help me so we had to wait a few more minutes for another employee to stroll up from the back.
