Boot barn has it all for western wear. Have been here quite a few times for shows, and more. I usually give 5 stars unless you really yank my chain - then I begin deducting. When I was on Boot Barn .com I noticed a ton of boots that would work for my daughter. She was going to be Beth Green from "The Walking Dead" and was looking for the "Dan Post" style boot. We found them in Ropers for 1/4th the cost. Seeing as how we do not "DRESS UP" to be country .. we live this life - we dont buy the fancy boots that are 500.00 dollars. I mean, come on, they will step in horse manure, pig stuff, goats chew and you know - kids feet grow. My daughter is 16 - she has a different hoof size as often as our horses get shoes. I like nice things and nice boots (I have 30 of the best quality boots, from Ariat to Harley boots) but I am not an idiot. I am not buying a pair of boots that are 200.00 for her to wear for 3 weeks. Anyways, I seen about 30 different styles and brands that would work for what she wanted for Halloween. All online. All from 59.99 to 129.99. The pair I wanted, we were going to get matching pairs of - were Ropers and ran 89.99. Head on in to the BOOT BARN where they only sell from 109.99 on up. They do not carry Roper. They carry, Justin, (Only the high end models) Ariat, (I have enough of those - thanks) Dan Post, Laredo, Cheyennes, and I think Tony Lamas ... maybe 1 other brand. Now, these are some great boots. Don't get me wrong. But do they really target sell to only the high end customers? Sorry - I pay 100.00 every 6 weeks each for my horses shoes, I pay 1500.00 in tires on the truck, I pay 700 a month in feed costs. You think I am gonna pay 400.00 for a Dan Post boot thats gonna be worn for a few weeks cause I got moron stamped on my head? One thing about being a farmer, you dont buy things you dont need. And sure dont invest in something with no return. As much as I love BootBarn, I do not see any reason to shop here. They have no range in prices. They stock only high range merchandise. Well, in my world, owning livestock means I do not buy high range for myself. Not often anyways. Except when running in the parade of Champions and even then - the uniforms bought for us. I will just do any shopping online now - cause I am not driving 90 minutes to over pay. The store employee was VERY attentive. He was helping find all kinds of boots and was the only reason the store gets 4 stars. Its not his fault (That I know of) that the store has only high end boots. The website has tons of variety which I understand. But if you have a sign called "BOOT BARN" out front, you should also stock some lower, and some mid range. That seems to me to be customary. You dont have to stock garbage. No one would buy that anyways. But I honestly know a ton of ranchers who would buy more from your store if it had something for everyone. read more

I just don't know what I'm doing when it comes to cowboy boots but I needed a pair for two up coming country themed weddings that I'm invited to. I think that they sensed that I was totally lost in a sea of boots and they rescued me by being extra helpful. I went away feeling victorious with my purchase and felt confident enough with their service that I may come back another time in search of other accessories. The fun didn't stop there. He helped me find the right size, stayed with me to try on a variety until I found my perfect pair. no pressure sales pushing either. Poor Service. Never thought we would be treated poorly here. All Our family has shopped at this location for over 15 years! Today my brother, his wife and myself received the worst service from 4 ladies (one being the manager). Only one young gentleman there was helpful. I had asked if I could please use the restroom and the lady in the front very rudely yelled at me that I could not use it, I asked if there was an issue with it and she yelled again that I could not use it. I asked her once more if there was an issue with the bathroom she yelled the third time. I asked if she could please get her manager, I should not have been yelled at for asking a question that I'm sure more clients will ask throughout the day, the lady raised her voice louder that the manager was busy and wasn't going to help me. I walked away and this first employee sent a second employee, the second lady proceeded to ask me if I had a problem, I said no that we are buying shirts and jeans and that I had asked if we could please use the restroom but we were told no. I asked if there was a reason for not being allowed to use the restroom and the first lady employee came behind her and yelled we couldn't. I asked the second lady to please call her manager and both ladies said she wasn't available. I walked away once more and continued to shop. These two ladies went to a third lady and began gossiping loudly making rude comments assuming I did not understand english (I clearly heard them speak of my weight and the way I speak english) The third woman came over to me asking if I had a problem and I quickly responded no that I just needed to speak to a manager when available. The other ladies came over hovering around us saying they had already told me I couldn't use the restroom that what didn't I understand, they did not acknowledge if there was an issue with the restroom or a reason why we could no longer use it. Through out the entire time we were shopping all 3 ladies would come hover around us but didn't bother to help us. A few minutes later a fourth woman (the manager) came over with her employees following behind her and told me if I was going to be rude to her employees that we needed to leave. I explained to the manager I had been treated rudely since I had came in and all i asked was to use the restroom and if there was a reason why not. The manager explained we could not use it due to a city issue they were having with their bathrooms because they were not accessible to handicap people. But the manager continued to want to kick us out of the store, I explained we came to their town only to their store and we come from a long far drive and there is no near restrooms. I mentioned we shop here for over 15 years and never had an issue. My brother and his wife came from San Diego for some clothing they needed. I told her I understood if we couldn't use the restroom due to their city issue and I reassured her I was not being rude, I explained that I simply asked if I could please use the restroom and from that moment each lady kept coming asking if I had a problem. I told her I was being polite I'm not rude I just asked two question and was yelled at and when I finally asked for the manager all the employees began hovering around us every little while and giving us a hard time. I told her I wanted to point out that the first lady was by far the rudest most unprofessional because she kept yelling at me over the questions I asked even when they were not directed to her. The manager acknowledged that the first employee was rude and understood that she had been yelling at me and explained the employee was off the clock and she would have a talk with her tomorrow. At that point we were allowed to continue shopping and my brother couldn't find a specific plus size, I asked the gentleman who was working there what was the biggest size they carry but before he could respond the same first lady who initially was yelling at me (who was off the clock), yelled at me from a distance that whatever is there. I then directed to her and said can you please just tell me what is the biggest size you carry in plus size. the lady repeated whatever is there, I responded thanks for your help and turned away. The gentleman went closer to us very kindly began to assist us and told us the sizes and finished helping us out finding my brother what he was looking for. We continued to shop but at checkout the gentleman had to call one of the employees who had been giving us a hard time to finish the transaction. She was not courteous nor acknowledged us when checking out our items. We've all regularly shopped here for many years some of us travel over an hour to shop here and the others a few hours and not once had a bad experience until yesterday! read more

Overall, Boot Barn is a great western store. My one and only complaint is, I've made several online orders, over the months, for instore pickup. Each time my order is ready, I go into the store and inform a store employee/cashier, I have an online in store pick up. Without fail, the employee decides to walks to the back of the store/warehouse to pickup up my order. Without fail, each and every time, my online order is sitting behind the register, along with other peoples orders. I find it comical and a little tiresome, that every employee I deal with, fails to simply look behind them, on the wall, for the online order pickup. The employees need to be properly trained, to simply turn around and look for the online order pick up that's directly behind them, before heading our way back to the warehouse in the back of the store. ABRACADABRA!! Aww, darnit, it's not workin.... I thought I could make this can of recycle stuff disappear the way the salesperson disappeared today at Boot Barn.... Down, down 101 I drove, Captain Pie Hole by my side, down past Morgan Hill to the San Martin exit. The green of the surrounding hillsides welcomed me, lulling me into a slower pace, almost making me forget tales of tourist-hunting tarantulas.... I found a close parking spot, which I took as a good omen, and moseyed toward the store, past a billboard that yanked at my heartstrings with pictures of puppies, tempting me to risk the ire of my 3 cats for a cute spaniel..... Looking for a pair of boots, I was surprised to find a complete absence of the little straddle benches for the salespeople that you would usually see in a store selling shoes, ....I soon found out why...the salespeople, obviously not on commission, would pop up periodically, (ever play "whack-a-mole" at a carnival?), point to whatever you asked about, then disappear again.... Captain Pie Hole valiantly performed the duties of the absent salesfolks, digging out a hidden foot measuring device and bringing me boots in my size. No thanks to the store's personnel, I found a pair that fit well. The store had what looked to be a good supply of boots, western wear, and even some tack. It looked well organized, and if I were in the "serve-myself" mood, I might try it again. read more

Second bad experience. Will not be going back! Today my daughter called in asking about a simple white pair of jeans if they had in stock in her size. We were told they had them by the female sales associate. Arrived at store...about half hour later. Nope hadn't had what were looking for, for weeks. First bad experience was a few years ago and bought a pair of boots. The sales guy told my husband and I it is common to have to use a plastic bag to fit into your boots until they stretch out. Went looking for a new pair of boots. What I found at Boot Barn wasthat I drove to far for a disappointing experience both with service and the selection. I was looking for a new pair of Justin ropers. Yes, I am one of those people who likes a certain brand of boot and isn't really interested in much else. I also wanted leather soles. The selection in my size (size 9) was very small for Justin boots. They have even fewer roper styles with leather soles. As my old pair of boots was a little tight and had seem better days I figured I would get measured first and then start looking. The person helping me refused to measure my foot and told me to just try on sizes and see what fits. Great approach if you have all day and don't have a 3 year old with you. Overall the store seemed to carry a large percentage of Ariat boots and a very limited supply of more common brands like Tony Lama, Dan Post, and of course Justin (I didn't see a single pair of Nacona's either). The Ariats were all composite soles and looked more like tennis shoes than boots. The help was more interested in pushing things I didn't want instead of helping me find what I did want. Not surprising since they had so few Justins in stock. I won't go back and will just have to find someplace else to pick up my next pair of boots. read more

Recently planned a family vacation, which Included a day at a dude ranch in Wyoming. Being from the city, we wouldn't show up looking like city slickers!! Headed to a local shop (won't mention the name) that according to Yelp said they were open. Drive 25 min to find out they fixed to close early that day. Called up Boot Barn 30 min before they were scheduled to close. I told the lady we were 25 min away, but willing to drive down. She told us to come on down, she didn't mind staying a little late. Off we went. Made it there 5 min before their posted closing time and got our shop on. 45 min later we were leaving and my wallet was $600 plus lighter. Money well spent. That was day one. Went back a few days later to find the same great, friendly and knowledgeable staff working. This time we left with wallets about $800 lighter. I love boot Barn and I was thankful I could drive from San Jose to get boots, belt and clothes but the clerks were not friendly and they would not let me use the restroom after driving in traffic... the last time I was there the clerk was kind enough to let me use the restroom. What a great "Cowboy Store"! When my son was 4 he wanted to be a cowboy. For Christmas I walked into this store and found everything I needed to turn him into a real cowboy. I'm typically not a person to come on Yelp and talk about a Companies behavior. This time is a little different because even after leaving the store I still feel very uncomfortable. I came into the store as i very regularly do. I walk over to the men's shirts grab four shirts and look for a employee to unlock the dressing room. I found a young women to unlock the door for me (she was very kind and helpful I didn't get her name). I tried the shirts on and left the dressing room and put two of the four shirts back. A manger walks over to me and asks me if I need help I told her no I am okay thank you and she looked at me head to toe and seemed confused that I refused help. I walk around a little bit looking for some more short sleeve shirts and I notice she is somewhat following me. It made me so uncomfortable that I just went to the checkout line and waited in line. I noticed her walk up to the cashiers and whisper to the young lady at the counter and she looked at past the whole line rite at me. Then the manger walked over and stood at the door. Now I come here fairly often and I've spent 8k at this store for my wedding and it is the only clothing store I buy my clothes from. I come here so much that 80% of the staff know me by name and normally come up and talk with me when I come in. She got on her mic and another gentleman came up to stand at the door with her. This whole thing could have been a misunderstanding but it definitely made me feel extremely uncomfortable. Even after leaving the store I played back my actions trying to see if I did something that would have made them suspicious. Other then wearing a full outfit from the store boots pants and a shirt but like I said I only shop at this store so I'm not sure! Anyways This event has made me rethink of coming here if this is how I am going to be treating again. I have many conversations with this manager is the past about my kids and wedding planning stuff so it's sad to see this. She is normally very nice and that's why I'm. I have been working with Calfire since 8/15, I've been looking like a man, smelling like a man, and finally got a day off to go see my boyfriend in Hollister so I thought I'd stop and grab a few things to make me feel like a woman again when he saw me haha AND MAN I took my TIME!! For a very important reason ; their personal service. Wanted a shirt that was not in store; they ordered and kept it for me till my next visit. The manager at the San Martin store harasses his staff, treats them like peons and his overall personality stinks. The district manager could care less and only wants her bonus check if this manager stays for a year. So after I wrote this review I was contacted by the District Manager by email who said he didn't know what happened but it was unacceptable and that he would take care of it if I called him. So I called him and he said "I'm overnighting the check to you" then silence......I said OK is that it? He said "uhhh yes" I said OK. and he hung up. There was no "hey next time your in the store will give you 10% off" or any gesture of good will. He made it seem like it was an inconvenience that he just wanted to go away. After a 23 day wait the check finally came. I'll still stand by what I said before. It's a nice store just don't pay with cash. Great selection of western wear for men, women, and kids. They also carry saddles and riding accessories. My daughter needed paddock boots for riding lessons. When I called, the salesperson told us that they had paddock boots and offered to check their stock to see if they had her size. We went to the Boot Barn and a friendly saleslady immediately offered to help us. We headed towards the boots, and a few minutes later she helped us find the right size. We found Ariat (the best brand) paddock boots in both zipper and lace styles. Not cheap, but reasonably priced. Today was my 2nd trip to Boot Barn in San Martin. While I am a horse owner I do not wear cowboy attire but went searching for a decent water resistant jacket to wear horseback riding instead of rhinestone "look-at-me" apparel. ( but they seem to carry this too ) As on my previous trip I found the service to be attentive, friendly, accomodating and pretty well informed about the various clothing options available as well as being down to earth. My Ariat boots are awesome and came well-recommended. Looking forward to trying out the jacket they special ordered in my size. Thx especially to Cord today for his help and to the friendly gentleman with the generous mustache and the young fair haired man ( he had a mustang we talked about while I bought tack) on my last trip.
