Purchased a replacement pair of durango boots with the rebel sole that make my feet feel real gooooood! Jessica was the salesperson that assisted me. She displayed competenced while helping me find the what I to buy. Notably, she was patient, and cusious about other items, (hats, jeans), that I "might want to buy," even though the store was busy. Walked into boot barn on August 5 to get some clothes. Got a few items then decided to check out cowboy hats. One of the employees working in the hat department name Lionel offered to help me out. He was very helpful and knowledgeable! I have never worn or bought a cowboy hat before, and after I gave him some input on my size he looked at the wall and picked out a perfect fit. I've given this boot barn two chances and each time was a disaster. My recent visit was the worst... not once, but twice, I was walked in on in my dressing room by an employee who opened the door with their keys without knocking. I had to yell out twice and each time it seemed like I was inconveniencing her for being in the dressing room. The employee's lack personality, friendliness, and respect for their customers. They stare, give dirty looks, and judge you from the moment you walk in if you don't fit their mold of the store. Save your money and support a different business. The sales associate are patient and knowledgeable especially when picking out boots. Variety of sizes are hard especially for 13 but you can ship too store and they price match if you see lower cost online. They restore Cowboy Hats..well they aren't miracle workers but can they help get that cowboy hat full of memories looking pretty sharp again. We were helped by 2 very helpful young ladies. We went in for boots and there was no pushy sales tactics by the two who helped us find boots. We were greeted at the door by a nice young lady letting us know we'd need to wait a few min but when we got inside we were pounced on by a push sales girl. We thanked her and moved on. My husband was looking at a few shoes and one young lady approach us asking how we were and made conversation with us. It's ok. There is unfortunately so much product crammed into their sales floor and their clothing areas that it's incredibly hard to even maneuver or walk in between them without knocking stuff down, forget it if it's busy at all in that place. I've worked retail for far too long and was under the impression that legally fixtures have to be a certain amount of feet apart to accommodate for wheelchair access an emergency exiting strategies. I am a very tiny woman and I don't even fit in between most of their fixtures. It makes me feel very claustrophobic and I'm comfortable and I hate going in there. As much as I love my boots and wranglers, everything else in that place is not only too expensive but way too cram packed. And the customer service leaves a lot to be desired. read more

I really just have to say that all of this is coming from somebody who worked in retail for almost a decade... The last three times I have come into this boot barn location, I am overwhelmed by the number of employees bombarding me with questions asking me if I found things OK when I had only taken three steps into the store. I came here last Friday, and four out of the eight workers there spoke to me within five minutes. Call it "good customer service" but no: most people shopping don't want to be bothered like that, it is honestly too much, not even helpful and creates a negative experience because shoppers are being interrupted so frequently... hate to break it to you but you would be better off leaving people alone to stroll the store and really take everything in then ask if they need help. Maybe gain some awareness and realize that customer have already been spoken to OR maybe give your employees a project to occupy themselves because you over staffed your store and now they're bored and bothering customers. read more

Semi-regular customer. Good place for the suburban cowboy or a real working rancher. Those photos in my profile are me & my horse. I'm not a cowboy. I'm a horseman. Let's see, so far I've purchased: 3 hats (Stetson, Wrangler, and the obligatory Resistol), numerous pairs of Wrangler rodeo jeans (tough & stiff - wash 'em 3 times before wearing), a few belts, a pair of boots, a wild cowboy shirt with bright embroidered guitars. Bambie got some clothing items, too. We both like this store. Big selection, the good brands. Fair prices when items are on sale. And when they ain't you get a future discount printed on your cash register receipt based on present purchases. Works out to be a bit more than 10%. Coupon expires in 45 days, though. Almost all of the mom & pop western wear shops in Sonoma county have closed in this weak economy. Boot Barn, nearby California Horse Supply and Sebastopol's Saddle to Boots are about the last remaining shops. Saddle up! read more

Horrible customer service from a young female worker who clearly spoke Spanish. My mom went in to exchange some boots that I purchased for her as a Mother's Day gift. When my mom tried speaking to her in Spanish she rolled her eyes at my mom. She clearly spoke Spanish , the girl even confirmed she knew Spanish. Why work in customer service if you don't have the patience for it ? And how could you be embarrassed of your roots . Shame on Erika, the cashier that was rude and had poor customer service skills. Ok this is an update from my original review several years ago. Things got worse. I'd like to clarify that this review is specifically about Santa Rosa Boot Barn, and doesn't apply to their online business or other locations. On Thanksgiving weekend 2017 I entered the Boot Barn in Clovis Ca. My girlfriend and I we're greeted by a friendly sales associate. I ended up spending close to $400 on 2 pairs of boots, some clothes and a gift card. I ended up getting about $100 in coupons to get me to come back..... I did, but this time online. I found out that I could only use 1 $25 coupon per purchase of course. I bought a very nice pair of boots for $305 after the coupon was applied. When the boots arrived, sadly we found out they were a bit small. Since I live in Santa Rosa, I decided my best option would be to take them to the store for an exchange. All I needed was 1/2 a size up. Understandably they did not carry the Boot and my best option was to return and reorder. This is where the crappy attitude began with the Santa Rosa sales associate. She had a huffy puffy attitude and implied that I was better off taking them home and shipping them back. I told her that I was hoping that the company I've spent so much money with would be delighted be to help. I also asked if I'd get a new coupon to apply to the new order and I was flat out told NO. She walked in the back and took her time locating a return form. When she returned, I filled out the form and was given no proof of return. Nothing. As I drove away, I realized I was treated rudely and had absolutely no proof of return. I called the store and spoke with the"manager". She lightly apologized and told me that she'd save some coupons for me to use on my replacement order. I went back with in the hour to see if I could get proof of the return. Anything? NO but here are some coupons..... I go home in a panic because these people could throw the boots in a dumpster and I have only a receipt of purchase. After a day, I call customer service and find out the return had processed to my relief. I go on and re order the boots in the right size. I try to apply the coupons and find out the expired a year ago. Bottom line. The workers at this location do not care about the business. I will NEVER step foot in that door again. Horrible customer service. If you want to buy from Boot Barn go to a different store or buy online. Send those lazy retail girls home. Well, if your looking for a barn full of boots made in strange countries, this is the place to look. American made items are few and far between. You might find an American made belt, but the wallet will be from China. Every time I come here I'm disappointed to see the young cowboys and cow girls come in here searching for the American "image". Like Wal Mart where thousands buy the American flag to hang on the front porch for the 4th. If you can make the decision to buy a Ford, Dodge, or Chevy, you can purchace an American boot to go with it. Right? read more

Horrendous Customer Service. I went with my sister to order wedding boots. There were some minor issues with ordering it online. My sister understandably got a little frustrated, but was not rude to the employees or raised her voice. We both work in customer service, so we are always polite to others in that line of work as well because we know what it's like. The floor manager whose name was Jose was incredibly rude. He said to my sister, "Calm down, it's not a big deal". My sister started tearing up, and he continued to be rude. He even rolled his eyes at her. As he left, my sister told the cashier that this is the worst customer service she received. He turned around, looked at her, rolled his eyes again, and said "Thank God it's Friday". We could not believe it! The internet ended up crashing, so we didn't get to order the boots. Of course, nobody did anything about that and said they could not help us with our purchase. The cashier was fine, but when we requested Jose's supervisor's name and number, she refused to give it to us. Can't blame her, if she works under Jose she doesn't want to cross him. Never been treated like this. Especially with a $400 sale, having management be that rude and un-helping is a terrible business practice. A half an hour time wasted, and the boots haven't even been ordered. Don't go here. If you want western wear, to to Jay Palm's in Petaluma, which is local and their employees don't take their frustrations out on the customers. read more

They came from Boot Barn on Santa Rosa Avenue and there was a flaw when I tried to return them they told me I'd worn them and they would not return them I'm out $120 for nothing! I'll give them 5 stars based on my 3 visits. The only issue I have is the pricing. But I am aware the items they sell aren't all that common in stores and are generally expensive and so I don't hold that against the store. It's the kind of clothing you want to last a long time and so sure, pay a bit more. That being said, they have a very good selection of boots, hats, and other clothing. I bought all of my wedding attire there for the kids, grooms men and my self. It's the kind of wedding where horses will be present so don't go here looking for a tuxedo. I read a lot of reviews about lousy customer service but I had the opposite experience. There were 3 or 4 staff members when I was there one time, each of them offered there assistance at different times and each were very friendly and respectable. What I did see however having spent at least an hour in the store were a number of customers that were complete ass holes. Not just to the staff but to other customers. My guess is they get a different sort of people than maybe we expect day to day. All in all I still need to go back and get more stuff and have no issues with going here. read more

My girlfriend has a pair of Dan Posts bought for her as a gift from my Dad from this Boot Barn a couple weeks ago. He was told that they could be returned if they did not fit and or have them stretched for free. My girlfriend loves the boots that he picked for her but one boot fit more snug (uncomfortably) than the other. So we decided to take a trip to the Boot Barn where he purchased them, which is about 100 miles or so from our home, and is still the closest Boot Barn to us. We walked into the store in a hurry as we had another event to attend. A girl named Amanda, which is also the name of my girlfriend, was working hard trying to find different boots that would fit better as we weren't too confident in having them stretched. Let me also say that this is the first pair of boots for either one of us. After seeing my girlfriend struggle to take the boots off that she was trying on, Amanda brought over the boot jack and showed her how to use it as we were newbies. We settled on keeping the pair my Dad had purchased for her and Amanda assured us she would take extra care on our boots and get them stretched and ready to go for her by the following weekend. Normally it wouldn't take that long but we live far away. Amanda called us to remind us that the boots were ready for pick-up and we came to the Boot Barn on Saturday 3-16-13 to pick them up. From the moment my girlfriend tried on the newly stretched boots she knew we were steered in the right direction by keeping the boots and having them stretched. While we were there we decided to get a new outfit and let me tell you, Amanda's level of customer service is well beyond extraordinary, in fact that would be an understatement. She was helping us from the moment we walked in telling us the boots were ready until 20 minutes after the store closed still helping us find an outfit for my girlfriend. Although we kept her after store hours, she never made us feel really rushed! She really spoiled us with a level of customer service that we have never experienced and may never see again. My girlfriend said it was like having a friend shopping with you rather than some random employee. This Boot Barn has a stellar employee at the Santa Rosa location and should do whatever they need to do to retain her! She was extremely knowledgeable about the products, found solutions to our problems, and seemed to really have a passion for western wear! Because of Amanda and the experience she provided to us at Boot Barn, we will keep coming back for our boot and western clothing needs for years to come! read more

Good selection but customer service is severely lacking. The one guy I have dealt with working in there (maybe the manager) is never polite and borders on rude. Not pleasant and he is hella slow. I have been in there a lot lately and he is the same way each time, so it's not just a bad day type of thing. The plus is they are very good about transferring merchandise between stores in case you need a different size or color. The cowgirls working the store here were super friendly and upbeat. My in laws couldn't resist their charms and attempted to impress the girls with Spanish while I wandered throughout the store checking out the cowboy hats and plaid shirts. I was rather tempted to get one for a wedding to go with my suit like Jason Statham but figured a chinky city boy like me wouldn't pull it off.
