    Bootleggers Steakhouse

If you are hungry for an authentic hometown meal including a prime grade char broiled steak packed with that authentic Wyoming beef flavor and goodness make sure you pass through Kemmerer, WY and stop by Bootleggers on Main Street downtown! I was visiting from Utah to watch my twin boys compete in and win their basketball tournament! By the end of the day I was starving! I googled best steakhouses near me and Bootleggers popped up. I was greeted with a smile by Tyler who was also my server! He made the night an awesome experience even though he was a new server! He was kind, professional, caring, detailed, helpful, friendly and just did a super awesome job! My compliments to the chefs! The food was amazing! I haven't had a Ribeye steak this good, grilled yo perfection at medium rare in a long time! It was tender, juicy, bursting with authentic Wyoming beef flavor and it just melted in my mouth! I ate everything on my plate the food was so good. When it was gone I found myself salivating wishing that there was more of that juice steak that was cooked to perfection! Thank you to Bootleggers for that awesome experience! My friends and I will be taking road trips so that we can enjoy that prime grade exceptionally delicious steak more often! If still have any doubts check out these pics...

I am out here from California on a work trip, we heard about this place and they did not disappoint!! This place blows many steak houses in California that I had been toout of the water. I ordered the rib eye it was huge and perfectly cooked. After our meal we chatted it up with the owner for about 30 minutes he told us story's about the Coal mines and other things about this area, great guy. I definitely reccomend this place.

So glad I stopped! I was a little cautious, but the few reviews I read convinced me to give it a whirl. The restaurant was clean and the staff were especially friendly and accommodating. The food was great. I had a salad and the big ribeye and it didn't disappoint. I would recommend this place for anyone traveling through.

Excellent service. Clearly a local favorite. Get the fried pickles. Great rest stop for the weary driver. Park across the street. Owner is a bronco fan. Home cooking. Salad bar, great iced tea. Hole in the wall. Friendly staff.

Great steaks 16-28 oz enough for 2 people. Rib eye was seasoned well and as tender as a filet mignon a local place and enjoyable.

This location is one of only a few restaurants in the area. We were staying in Fort Bridger and…read moredrove over to have a sit-down meal. The building shares an entrance with the truck stop/fuel station/convenience store. This makes it a bit confusing as to where the restaurant is located, but we found it. We had seen on other yelp reviews that this wasn't the cleanest place, and that is certainly true. The day we visited, the dining room was filled with flies. They were so pesky, that it made it difficult to sit and wait for our food because they just wouldn't leave us alone. A fly strip or two may have helped quite a bit with this issue. We sat at a low table, but there was bar seating as well, which most of the locals chose to use. Our table was a wood surface coated with a clear varnish that was sticky to the touch and likely not very cleanable. The condiments were very dirty and gross. We chose not to use them with our food. There was only one waitress working and one cook, and there were 3 other people besides us dining in. The food still seemed extra slow coming out. It appeared that the cook only worked on one order at a time, so we watched as each patron was served until ours came out. I ordered the Malibu Chicken Sandwich with Sweet Potato Fries. My sandwich didn't really have much flavor, but it tasted fine. My fries were not too greasy as can be the case with sweet potatoes. I was hungry and devoured my meal. My husband ordered the chili burger with tots. He said the chili was mediocre and the tots needed salt. I thought the tots had an old grease flavor that I did not care for. I don't think we'll be back again unless something changes.

We stayed at…read morethe Holiday Inn Express in Evanston(another review)and asked Weston, the evening clerk at the hotel, where to eat. He recommended the Lincoln Highway Tavern. We walked in at about 9:40 pm. The kitche closes at 10. We wouldn't have been surprised to be turned away, but the wonderful woman covering the bar and kitchen, forties, glasses, dark hair, was very friendly and gracious. She also took excellent care of us, despite really having to hustle. I had the pulled pork tacos and my wife had the teriyaki wings. The tacos(I ordered two)were stuffed with pulled pork that was very tasty, and came with crema, a sweet relish salsa, and cheese(a slight upcharge). My tacos came with tortilla chips that were crispy and well salted. My wife liked her wings. If we're passing through again, we would definitely stay in Evanston and have a meal at Lincoln Highway Tavern.
