This is the best bbq I've had in a while. Who barbeques oxtail?! I had bbq oxtail, pork ribs, macaroni & cheese, collard greens and yams. Outstanding. Everything. The meat is tender and was sliding right off the bone. Also, the service was great, too. The owner and guys serving were kind to us, talking to us like we're neighbors. They chased us down after we left and gave my friend and I complimentary banana pudding. This is my staple bbq place. Follow them on Instagram to see where they are stationed for the day. I can't wait to have this again!

Food tent outside of Ale Works, the food smelled good so we decided to give it a try. The food was good, seasoned well BUT immediately after about 1hr or so we were sick to our stomach's. Going from both ends; don't recommend at all.

I discovered Bootsy during the pandemic and I've been a fan since. His salmon, brisket and mac are my favorites but everything on the menu is top tier! His energy and passion for the community make supporting him an easy decision. I've sent so many friends and clients his way. Go get Hit with the Smoke!!!

This is the best bbq I've had in a long time; very healthy portions. The smoked salmon is seasoned to perfection; it's my favorite. All the sides are fresh prepared just right and really good. The bbq is tender and smoked just right. The customer service is A1 and the owner is a stand up gentleman. Great vibes all the way around

Picked up some Bootsys at LA Ale Works today and it was Got the Salmon, Brisket, and Greens. Salmon was amazing. Brisket was amazing. Greens were amazing. Highly recommended. Can't wait to try the rest of the menu!

If you're looking for good BBQ, this is a spot worth checking out. Not only is the food good, but the service was great. Everyone was friendly and efficient. I just picked up my food to go, but the vibe inside is cool. It's a cute casual place where you can dine in or take it to go. All in all, it's a vibe! The shining stars were the brisket and the Mac & Cheese

Back in the day, you had to get there early because the place STAYED PACKED, and their ribs were THEE reason to go. They were hands down some of the best ribs I ever had as a kid. They put me on. Fast forward 15-20 years later, and today was my first time coming back since my teenage years. I tried calling ahead to place an order, but couldn't get through. Honestly, that didn't surprise me because Woody's was always busy. I figured it was still the same old Woody's. Then I pulled into the parking lot around 6 PM on a Thursday. Immediately, there was parking available. That alone felt odd. No line. Plenty of parking. Not a single customer inside. That should have been my first sign. We ordered beef ribs, sliced brisket, mac and cheese, and dessert. They were out of the banana pudding, so we settled for peach cobbler. The total was around $50, which isn't bad for dinner for two. The excitement really started to hit when we got home and opened everything up. Unfortunately, that's when reality set in. The mac and cheese was terrible. Completely flavorless, watery, and mushy. The pasta was so overcooked it practically fell apart and blended together like baby food. It tasted old and had absolutely no seasoning or richness whatsoever. First and last time ordering that. Next was the brisket. The slices were gray, dry, and looked like they'd been sitting around for a while. I took one bite and immediately said, "Absolutely not." Another disappointment. But I wasn't too worried yet because I came for one thing: THE RIBS. The flavor was actually still there. The sauce and seasoning reminded me of the Woody's I remembered. BUT THE TEXTURE... A completely different story. The ribs weren't tender, weren't juicy, and definitely weren't falling off the bone. They were tough enough that I found myself working for every bite. At that point, the empty parking lot, empty dining room, and lack of lines made a lot more sense. By the end of the meal, I ended up rinsing the remaining ribs off so my dog could enjoy them as a chew toy. What hurts most isn't the bad meal--it's seeing what was once a legendary BBQ spot become a shadow of what it used to be. I almost wish I hadn't come back because it tarnished some really great childhood memories for me. I don't enjoy leaving negative reviews, but I also believe in being honest. Maybe I caught them on a bad day, but based on this experience, Woody's is not the Woody's I remember, and unfortunately, I won't be returning. If it's any consolation, the cobbler was okay. But not worth going out of my way for.

After a recent cruise, our Cali cousin brought us to Dulan's for lunch. We arrived and were…read moreimmediately seated. We placed an order for 1. Fried Chicken with green beans and mashed potatoes. 2. Meatloaf with rice and gravy and cabbage. 3. Fried chicken dinner with greens, macaroni and cheese, and dressing with gravy. A guy at a nearby table mentioned that the chicken was overcooked but we requested a light fry and really enjoyed the chicken. The green beans were seasoned perfectly with sliced carrots and onions. The only two issues were the cabbage wasn't seasoned well and needed to be cooked longer. Also the cornbread was not sweet and was reheated in a microwave. Overall all of us enjoyed our meal! Plus the strawberry lemonade was delicious and not too sweet. If back in Cali, I'll be back!

Let's start at arrival. The order window had two people ahead of me. The first person ordered and…read morestood there for 10 minutes while the one person taking orders disappeared. Then finally came the next people, whose order took an exorbitant amount of time as well. I took note of the growing line behind me but figured it's a popular place and this is how it usually works here. I ordered the short rib lunch with collard greens and black eyed peas, with sweet potatoes as an extra side. The lady charged me for a dinner (bigger portions and more expensive), which I realized when I got my meal and looked at my credit card statement. I waited for 15 minutes at the pick up window before asking about my meal, and the guy said it's being packed up. Another 10 minutes, and the people behind me are picking up their meals and are noticing I haven't gotten mine yet. One of them says something. They say it's coming. After another 10 minutes I finally get my food, in a paper bag that is already soaked in grease to the point of it falling apart by the time I get to my car. There's something on their window saying they can't use plastic bags because of some law. I go to a liquor store and buy some plastic bags so this grease doesn't get all over my car. I look in the bag, everything is leaking all over everything, and the 2 cornbreads that come with the meal are nowhere to be seen. I drive BACK to the place, wait 5 minutes for someone to show up at the back window, and ask for the cornbread that was supposed to come with my meal. This is now going on an hour from the time I placed my order. They finally get them to me. I drive to my destination, and begin eating. Black eyed peas are delicious. Collard greens are delicious. Cornbread is wonderful, but really greasy. I dig into the short rib - which by the way I paid $30 for. It's literally 80% gristle and fat. There is almost no meat. I'm trying to find the little tiny bits of meat in the generous portion of meat and am coming up with basically fat. Most of it is getting spit out. I pays for meat, not fat. Lesson learned. I will come back but only for sides and if I'm adventurous I'll try the baked fish or something though that also scares me after this questionable experience. It's obvious they bought the cheapest meat they could, didn't trim it, charged a lot for it and sold it at a price that would warrant high quality meat. The flavor was great but I paid for meat, not throw away chewy gristle. Like I said, I will come back but will most likely order only sides, as they are really good.
