Honestly some of the icecream hype in Toronto is pretty insane so it's hard to know which places to check out first so this one's been on the back burner for a little while. We drove down to this place late on a Tuesday evening close to closing and were pleasantly surprised to see a lineup of only like 5 people. I guess it helps that it isn't as centrally located as some other places. Big bonus here was free parking on the street. I was surprised at how fast the line moved. From joining the line to ordering was only about 5 minutes. I had the Taco Icecream (because why not?) and my fiancé had the half sandwich. I picked Cotton Candy (not sickeningly sweet so yay!), Black Raspberry Thunder (super refreshing and not too sweet at all) and vanilla (it's regular vanilla, no companies here. I skipped the whipped cream but got caramel sauce, sprinkles and kit kat bits as the toppings. It's definitely messy! But the taco shell comes in handy for scooping if you prefer that over the spoon. Our other item was the half sandwich with Pistachio Almond icecream and Grapenut icecream on a Chocolate Chunk Cookie. Personally we didn't like the Pistachio Almond, it was somehow salty but the cookie was soft and just chocolaty enough. We'll definitely come back despite the cash only limit! read more

Went there by curiosity and will totally come back. Half a sandwich is made of 2 scoops of ice cream between 2 half-cookies, more than enough and only 4.65$! Booyah is the new school to Dutch Dreams old school ice cream in this little block. They take a modern approach to both the decor and presentation of the ice cream. I was drawn to the promise of an ice cream taco, with a selection of 'hard shells' to choose from. I opted for the chocolate dipped shell with sprinkles, and chose from their wide selection of flavours and toppings. The end result had Gold Medal (chocolate and vanilla), toffee (delicious), and Cotton Candy (pleasantly more cotton than candy with a creamy taste not overly sweet). This was topped with chocolate syrup, chopped skors bars, and cinnamon toast crunch. Eating was a messy affair, which shows why they had waffle cones and bowls before they had taco shells, but the execution was solid. This combined with great service and a comfortable outdoor seating area makes for a surefire contender in this neighbourhood. read more

Vegan options! I will go far and wide to support a place that caters to vegans. So when I was craving an ice cream recently I made a point to check out Booyah! While I was a bit surprised that the ice cream and cookies were not made in house, I really didn't mind. The quality of both was great (They use Bunners cookies!) My boyfriend and I both ordered the half size, which is huge! Neither of us could imagine ever ordering the large. I had a scoop of vanilla and a scoop of chocolate in between a chocolate chip cookie (all vegan). The service was really wonderful too. I'll be going back! read more

This place smells of goodness when you enter.  We went on a rainy day so there wasn't a line and we were able to get our desserts quickly. I got the sweet pocket  with a warm brioche bun with nutella and cold vanilla ice cream on the inside and dusted with powder sugar on top. It had to be one of the best combination I've tried! This may not be fair, as I'm not a huge fan of ice cream or sweets in general. PLUS, I can't eat dairy. I thought this place was just ok. I had the only thing I could have on the menu as a non-dairy eater: vegan ice cream sandwich. I got vanilla soy ice cream in a big vegan chocolate cookie. The cookie was good (if a little too sweet for my taste), and I liked how chewy it was. I did not like the ice cream, as the food scientists of the world have yet to make a soy-based ice cream that doesn't taste... soy based. I thought this was place was OK. We ended up here after seeing the 1.5hr line up at Dutch Dreams. I initially thought of getting an ice cream sandwich but the base was two chocolate chip cookies which seemed like it would be overly sweet. The scoop of the salted caramel snapper lost its lustre after a few bites, but was made up for by the toasted marshmallow ice cream which quickly took me back to pleasant childhood memories around a campfire. Prices are fair given that the portions are large, especially when served in a waffle cone. A double scoop in a waffle cone was ~$6. The flow of the store could be better. There was a throng of people at the counter and it was unclear who was ordering, who was paying, and who was waiting. They take cash only and apparently their ATM had run out of money when we went. I usually can't handle sweets but I wanted something besides just ice cream - so I got ice cream on a cinnamon bun. I ordered the sweet pocket that can be made on a brioche bun or on a cinnamon bun. I went with earl grey ice cream. What I was thinking after my first bite - did I really pay $7 for this? Cinnamon bun was nothing special, could barely taste the drizzle and cinnamon. It was pressed down so I was expecting something warm and delicious but it was neither. I wish there was vanilla drizzle and cinnamon powder or sugar on top. The earl grey was just okay but I feel like I should've just gotten it alone or went to Bang Bang (far though). My friends ordered the ice cream taco which wasn't any better. The waffle was generic and the whole process of eating was very messy. The store was low on hand sanitizer and other cleaning materials that customers (like ourselves) would really appreciate (wet napkins!) These guys are a very welcomed addition to the neighbourhood. The ice cream they serve is from both Kawartha dairy and Ed's Real scoop. To the person who called their flavours uninspired I am completely dumbfounded. Burnt marshmallow or maple bacon don't do it for ya? Try the salty caramel snapper. I get it between the single cookie and its perfection every time. I've been going at least once a week since they opened and they haven't let me down once. Decided to go for a walk and stop at either Dutch Dreams or Booyah. The lineup at Dutch Dreams was insane for 10pm so we kept walking to Booyah. Booyah is an intimate ice cream parlour and it did not disappoint. I got the sweet bun with a cinnamon bun, cinnamon toast crunch ice cream, with Nutella and marshmallow fluff. It was delicious! The boy got a waffle cone with 2 scoops of ice cream, his was good too. Prices are good. 1 star off because it's cash only and only 1 of the 2 staff members were friendly. read more

Went for the ice cream taco I've been seeing pictures of for a few weeks now. It's pretty much just a typical ice cream cone in the shape of a taco. Which just makes eating it more messy.
