Came here for brunch before a show. We decided to do the brunch feast. It was delicious but it was a LOT of food. This is not a bad thing. The restaurant is very cute inside with a huge bar. We were seated promptly at our reservation time. I had an iced tea which was fresh and my friend had an iced latte that was served with brown sugar syrup and I was immediately jealous. She said it was great. We got to pick two choices from the tapas section of the menu. We went with the datiles con beicon and patatas bravas. Both were very tasty. The potatoes were a larger dish and the two dates were the perfect size to get us started. Next we picked three items off the brunch section of the menu. We went with the torrija, boqueria B.E.C, and huevos horneados. It was all very good. I asked for ham and chorizo on the side and they were able to accommodate. The final dish was churros with our choice of sauce. We went with Nutella because once I see that is an option I stop reading immediately. Everything was very good. We came on a Saturday night with a reservation. We started off with some sangrias, expecting it to come in a wine/tall glass but no, they tasted good regardless. The tapas were nothing special in my opinion. We got 4 to share between the two of us which was enough. The Gambas were my favorite because the flavor was so seasoned and savory but I was surprised when the shrimp came out so small when usually they're larger. We asked for more bread twice but it never came unfortunately until it was too late. One of my croquettes didn't have any filling but my server was nice about it and gave us a new order of them. The bistec and chorizo were also really good and worth the price. We didn't get some of the other tapas be side we didn't think they'd be worth the price. read more

First time at Boqueria Colony Square and I was impressed! We popped in to eat before our show at the Atlanta Symphony Hall -- it's only a few minutes' walk, which is super convenient. We sat at the bar, and while the bartender was busy helping other guests, the owner personally came by to take our drink and food order -- something you almost never see these days. It felt incredibly personal and attentive. We ordered drinks and a variety of tapas -- Pan con Tomate, Escalivada, and Cerdo Ibérico -- and all were gone as fast as they arrived. The atmosphere is lively and welcoming, and you can tell they really care about the guest experience. Parking tip: they only validate for the Colony Square garage, so you can save a few bucks by parking there if you plan to have a drink or meal before a show. I saw some reviews mentioning service being slow, which is all relative here in the South (lol) -- for us, drinks and food came out fast. I can see the issue could arise though as there was one bartender making very elaborate drinks for the entire restaurant. Very very nice place that made my tastebuds veryyy happy. Everything that I tried was delicious. I am slowly growing to love the whole tapas vibe lol but I really enjoyed this spot. Was able to be seated fast and in a nice area of the restaurant. Dim lit ambience, slight music notes filled the room along with table side conversations. It was nice. The server gave advice on what to try and what to expect which really set the tone. They have a parking garage which made it convenient because it was definitely raining that day lol. Just popped in on a whim since I was at the Square. I came in on a Saturday right at the end of brunch. I appreciate not having only brunch foods on the menu. Sat at the bar. Bartender was great. This review is long overdue, but my husband and I were at Colony Square again on our way to one of our usual spots. But as we were passing by Boqueria, we stopped to check out the menu. A waiter outside greeted us as we made our way to the menu posted near the door, and the hostess greeted us warmly after we came inside. It was around 11am on a Sunday, so they'd been open for about an hour. There were just a few other parties seated inside, so we weren't sure if they just hadn't hit a rush yet or not. But we decided to check it out anyway. Once we were seated, our server came to the table promptly for our drink orders. She was so bubbly, friendly and sweet right away and throughout our time there. We had a couple of questions about the brunch menu, and she kindly answered all of them and even went to check with someone else when she didn't know an answer. Once we placed our order, it didn't take long for our tapas to start arriving at the table. We enjoyed our food as well as the overall atmosphere! Not sure about other times of day, but we didn't feel rushed or pressured at all. We were able to take our time and enjoy our convo. We stopped off at Boqueria before a show at the ASO and it was delicious! I have been to Spain before so I was familiar with the ham and other tapas on the menu. We ordered so much food for three people and it was the perfect amount to share. My favorites were the Brussels sprouts, Serrano ham and ham croquettas. We decided since we had plenty of time to order churros. They took forever to make it to us! To the point that we had to leave soon for the show. Thankfully there was a QR code so we could pay our bill (split between us) and left for the show after we downed our churros. Came here for lunch while visiting the High Museum of Art. It's a short walk and a perfect meal for before or after exploring the Museum. We enjoyed our tapas and the service was quick and efficient, but it was all very relaxed. Great experience at this restaurant. Service from beginning to end was very attentive. The restaurant was very clean and laid out in no way in which it does not feel cramped. The food was excellent. We went with the chef's recommended course. The Iberico ham was amazing. other standup dishes were the Caesar salad as the dressing tasted freshly made, the mac & cheese was also surprisingly delicious. The chicken wings were OK, just chicken wings. Will say the sauce and the chicken wings were decent. My first visit to Boqueria was an interesting one to say the least. I think they may just be very fresh and working through some kinks so take this review for what it is but not to say improvements haven't been made since. I decided to visit with a coworker for happy hour on a weekday. She had visited their location in another state so we were thrilled to try the new location in Colony Square. To start, everything was as it should be. We came in, I gave them my reservation name & we were sat quickly. After sitting, our server came by and we knew we were roughly 30 minutes early for the happy hour so we both ordered a regular drink & worked on our laptops while that short window passed. Once it was happy hour, we requested the happy hour menus. Our server told us that it wasn't for another hour despite their website showing the time and menu as what we thought. She left and came back with the menus and said it was a mistake so I would just be sure to confirm hours before visiting. Our service for the remainder of the afternoon was okay. Our waitress was kind but seems she didn't fully know the menu. For example, we wanted to order sliders off the happy hour menu. She told us it came one per order so we got two orders...when they came out it was 2 sliders per order so obviously felt like a waste of my money when I wouldn't have ordered 2 orders had I been informed correctly. The part of the visit that made it go a bit left for me was when someone who I am assuming was the next hostess on shift came over to our table and said "we are having a large party coming here at (insert time) so just letting you know". We both were confused because did this mean we needed to get our check and leave, could we move seats, etc. I decided that we would just finish our food & drinks in time to be out of their way for the party but then she came back and said they actually needed our table earlier. Again no next steps conveyed so when the manager who had been walking around came by, I informed her of the notes we received & asked if we were expected to end our meal. She assured us that was not the case and they can move us to wherever else we wanted to move to. She also comped a dessert for us which was nice. I'm giving 2 stars because the space was beautiful and the manager was very nice/quick to resolve our issue. Outside of that, the drinks were okay but not the most tasty. Strong so that a plus. The food was just okay as well but the cheesecake dessert was tasty! Will I be back, not sure but like I said earlier, I think they just need to work through some kinks and it'll be better. Now for the ratings: Drinks: Basically Banana Bread 4/10: extremely strong but no real sense of banana, spices, etc. Boqueria's Famous Shishito Margarita 4/10: also no standout flavor; love the idea but it can be executed better White Sangria 8/10: best tasting drink I had. Sweeter drink for sure, but pleasant Food: Hamburgesa 8/10: nice & fatty Shishito Peppers 8/10: hard to go wrong with these Serrano Ham Croquettas 5/10: could have been crispier & playing was ehhh, interesting Caesar Salad 5/10: love the anchovy but the dressing was way too light in flavor for me Patatas Bravas 8/10: also hard to go wrong, very tasty sauce! read more

Came here for happy hour when I was in the area. They ran out of the jamon sandwich, but I did get the slider, which was pretty good. The za'atar wings were well spiced. The croquettes, which I got both types - ham and cheese as well as mushroom - were really heavy with the breading. The churros were good, but the hot chocolate sauce was bitter. I had a shishito margarita which was delicious. The waitress had me pay the wrong bill though. I'm pretty sure she gave me the right paper bill, but charged me for the table next to mine on the machine, which I noticed when I got home. The bill was more than mine so then I called the restaurant for 3 days until finally I spoke to a manager. They ended up reversing the charges and never charged me for my actual bill. Overall, I would say the food was so-so and the bill fiasco was annoying, but they did fix it so I'm giving them an extra star for fixing the bill issue. read more

Overall very trendy and delicious experience! Parking: like anything in colony square you may need to fend that giant parking garage, but Boqueria validates so don't forget! Made the garage worth it. Ambience: 5 stars all around. Totally gorgeous, design details around every corner. I love the tile work and the elevated curved vaulted columns. It feels sexy and totally fits into the colony square vibe. Service: excellent, honestly! I was so impressed. Everyone from start to finish. Food: overall good. I think it's hard to compare all of the amazing tapas restaurants in Atlanta, and not find something that really stands out. We tried a few staples, but I would like to go back and try more! Manchego cheese - for the price ($12) it felt lackluster with two tiny croutons. I think I would stick with the tapas Ensalada vasca- super flavorful and well dressed. There are no additions to the salad, so just expect the lettuce or Romain but it was really good Patatas bravas- great crispy skin and great sauce flavor, definitely well seasoned too Croquettes- great flavor and texture. I don't write bad reviews but this time I have to. This place has been received a lottttt of hype recently. So I came in with my friends for a 6:45 dinner reservation on a Thursday. I made the reservation the morning of and there was every time slot available. Upon arrival, we were told it would be a few minutes for our table. Unfortunately that turned into 20 minutes so we checked back in with the hostess who SO rudely told us reservations made day of (I don't even know how she knew that) actually were on a first come first serve basis so we would be waiting an indefinite amount of time before a table was cleared and she could not provide any estimate and continuously disappeared and let lines grow long at the front as customers all were waiting to hear any information. That was a bummer to hear but the hostess was so so rude which made it worse. I have never experienced such rude hostess behavior, especially as a former fine dining hostess I was shocked. We continued to wait until 7:25 when we were finally sat. And then after being sat, we waited another 10 minutes for our server to bring us water and we luckily also held her to take our drinks and food. Our drinks took so long to come out, just wine and 1 cocktail. The food was average at best. Tapas are better elsewhere. Overall, poor service, poor restaurant model? The atmosphere is great, but there's better in Atlanta that won't treat you like a dog waiting. Oh also everything is insanely expensive and the quality did NOT match. Definitely skip. Barcelona is a better tapas wine bar any day. Please do not let your hostess treat anyone else so terribly. read more

Every person we worked with was awesome - Derrick on the planning side, Hector on my initial visit, Abby our server and all around go-to and the GM plus many in between. Food was excellent and they did a great job of accommodating our vegetarian friends. Only challenge was the room would not get cool but they did bring in a fan. I have been to Boqueria in NYC many times so my expectation was that it was gonna be the same, but definitely not. Management needs to change or kitchen needs to. The only thing coming out was patatas bravas from them, because it is easy to make. The manager was staring at 2 full line of big order list that wasn't getting shorter with no food coming out. Gave it a try the second week this chain restaurant opened in Atlanta! I had been to the ones in NYC and Chicago and enjoyed the food so I was excited that it is now in Atlanta, only 20min walk from my home! I celebrated Chinese New Year with my friend there. Got the Parillada, wings, tomato & plum salad, roasted carrots and pan con tomato and we asked for some bread. The serving size of the dishes were small. I recommend one to order at least three tapas. The parillada and wings were great. The steak was cooked to perfection, and my friend thought the shrimp was super fresh (and delicious). The wings had an interesting sour-spicy taste. I also enjoyed the roasted carrot very much. The other two dishes were rather normal compared to these. Service was a bit slow--this was what I expected as it just opened--and it was packed with people. But it would much better if they could serve the bread more quickly. Both of us really needed bread to eat with the tapas (One reason was personal preference and another was that the food was in general a bit salty)! Finally, vibe was great--gorgeously decorated, balanced lighting, etc. So these are my first thoughts about this new restaurant. Decided to stop by this restaurant and when you walk in, the space is fairly open and bright and in a good location. I sat at the bar and ordered Mini Hamburguesa, Chicken Wings, and the Bikini to eat. For drinks, I ordered the Shishito Margarita, Espresso Martini, and the Rosé Sangria. The Mini Hamburgesa was nice and juicy and the bacon jam added a little sweetness that was unexpected but tasty. The Chicken Wings were good, but the sour flavor took a couple bites to get used to. My favorite thing I ate there was the Bikini. It was perfectly grilled and tasted delicious! The Sangria was just ok, but I really enjoyed the Shishito Margarita and the Espresso Martini. Would be nice if the margarita was spicy, but that's just my preference lol. In terms of service, Thomas was my bartender and he was amazing, knowledgeable, and attentive. I truly believe this restaurant has the potential to be great, but there are still some major areas of opportunity that need attention. My first visit was fantastic, which is why I came back and even recommended it to guests from my own restaurant. Unfortunately, this second visit during lunch was a letdown. While the bartender was friendly and the food overall was decent, I was especially looking forward to the paella marisco. After a 25-minute wait, it arrived overly oily--so much so that I had to send it back. Another 25 minutes passed before the second one came out. Still, no one from management acknowledged the delay or stopped by to apologize. I could see managers and even the chef working on laptops around the bar, which made the lack of engagement feel even more frustrating. There was no recovery effort, no follow-up to see how the new dish turned out--just silence. The second paella was okay, but not as good as the one I had on my first visit. It's disappointing to feel like your feedback and experience don't matter, especially in a place I had high hopes for. For lunch... BOCATA DE POLLO: oven roasted free range chicken,salsa verde, garlic alliolii,gem lettuce, on crispy baguette. PATATAS BRAVAS (Crispy potatoes, salsa brava, pimentón, garlic allioli). Very reminiscent of the days of summer. Also, they validate parking. :-) Cons: plating wasn't impressive, and while the chicken was tender, the sandwich was flavorless. Although I requested the sauces be separate from the potatoes, the aioli and salsa verde were separated from the sandwich instead. Perhaps I didn't mix the condiments properly on the sandwich and should've had the salad instead (creating a more palatable texture for the sandwich than the potatoes). The potatoes were as hard as the baguette, so I left half the sandwich and couldn't really enjoy the potatoes. I also ordered the chicken wings which came out nice and hot, unique flavor too! Another small note -- the wings didn't come with the cilantro garnish I was looking forward to :( but nonetheless I'm glad I ordered it.
