This nail salon is extremely clean, super quiet, and for the most part everyone's always kind. I come here for a pedicure normally, because the refresher is pretty affordable($24) for someone who doesn't like much done to their toes. But I will say, this place is not the most cost efficient when it comes to your nails. I went in for an overlay refill, and wanted just a solid color, which costed me $85? I'm not quite sure why something that simple would cost that much, also still went home having to file my nails because the kind lady didn't quite get what I meant by short square. Again, super nice salon, I just think maybe, give the customers a better understanding on the price points beforehand. read more

I typically don't like to do reviews but unfortunately this one is one of the worst experience I've had in a nail salon. PICTURES ARE MY EVIDENCE.. A week ago I went in got the "VIP treatment " 120$ mind you money was never the problem I got the one with supposedly everything. To me it was not everything my nails looked horrible by the next day I called I went in because after my shift was over i Removed my shoes noticed the gel was off..the lady at front told me it was probably not completely dry.. The lady that was supposedly fixing my toe kne that my toe nail was cracked instead of fixing it she kept working on top of the nail all broken. My over skin was bothering me I asked the lady if it was an ingrown nail or something she said not just extra skin I told her remove it she did not but supposedly I got the VIP treatment ? Anyways ig they were low on staff cuz the person doing my nails starts rushing to do the regulars nails. The receptionist walks over and starts doing the doing the design I wanted while standing which is hurting my arm cuz I'm having to hold it up for her and while the other girl that's doing my nails is rushing on painting the base color on my other hand. At the end I walk to go pay and I see that there's a lot of spillage so I told the receptionist and they bring my back to the table start drilling the spillage off which mess up my top coat so she had to put another layer of top coat on which made the nails chunker! I used to love this nail salon- this used to be the only one I would go to. I hadn't been in a while and stopped there today. They have sorely fallen from how amazing they used to be. It took my manicurist 30min to start my service from the time they seated Usually the pedicurist asks if the wax is too hot or waits to put your feet in the bags with the wax until it has cooled down- this time she did not ask- my feet got burned from the wax. My pedicure was $70+ and my calluses were not scrubbed at ALL. For how expensive this pedicure was it was definitely not worth the money. They also have a 1 drink policy and only serve white and red wine along with coke and Diet Coke. Definitely not an above and beyond spa experience. read more

I am rough on my hands- it's dry, lots of cuticles, and it's just bony looking but Bora Bora gives it a good makeover every time. I have been going here now for over a year and for the most part happy with their services. The place is clean and inviting. They offer you drinks and make you feel welcome. The ladies are all nice. I had two ladies working on me- the one that did my hands was great. She was focused on getting my nails done nicely. (She get 5 stars) the other lady who did my feet - was not good. I paid $100 and she didn't get the callus of my feet- she only did the heel- my feet still have a lot of callus- on top of that she painted my nails horribly. Awful paint job. I've been going to this nail salon for almost 10 years and I've had nothing but great experiences until about a week and a half ago on my birthday when I went in for a full set. I don't know what happened this time I'm not sure if the person that did my full set was new or if it was the materials maybe and it was all just a fluke. But it's been less than two weeks and half my nails are already lifting off of my nail bed and one nail has completely fallen off. I'm giving them three stars because my pedicure was great as always but my full set was for my birthday and it was supposed to last me at least a month like always. I have been going to Bora Bora Nail Salon for awhile now and they have ABSOLUTELY SAVED MY NAILS When I went a few months ago, I had just taken the shellac off my nails, and they were in bad shape. My nails were brittle, splitting and they looked horrible. I got a refresher manicure and have been back several more times and gotten the same manicure....my nails are much healthier, stronger and do not split I highly recommend this nail salon. I used to go to this salon for years prior to the pandemic. I don't know what happened to them but now they are way overpriced and so the worst work I've ever seen. My last visits, I was cut twice! My daughter just went there and asked for French manicure but with red tips. They not only did an hombre nail but the ugliest hombre nail I have ever seen. She told them she didn't like it. They told her it would look better after the filing. It was worse. They, of course, blamed her and were no help. Bad work. High prices. Terrible service. I was hesitant going to my favorite nail salon, so I made the last appointment of the day. I was the only customer inside, besides my manicurist and the owner. She wore a mask and plastic face cover and gloves the entire time She assured me she sanitized the entire seat before I sat down I wore a KN95 mask just to make sure I felt comfortable. My manicurist told me she also worries, so she takes every precaution I left feeling not as nervous as I thought I would have been. I felt as safe as I could be. I know I won't be back for awhile, because as Houston opens up more and more, I won't get as lucky as I did today to be there as the only client. Staff was relatively nice, but didn't really talk with us while we got the classic mani and pedi. While trimming my nails, the lady actually got my skin with my thumbnail, and acted surprised when I reacted and said ouch, didn't even apologize for it. Mani was nothing to be excited about. Few nails had bubbles in them, and some spots were missing the top coat making it look a little strange. The girl that did my pedi, was also not very personable. I wouldn't recommend 1.the customer service sucks 2. the women who did my nails tried to pull a fast one on me when I asked before she started if they charge for short lengths and I told her I would like straight narrow and she did coffin shape knowing that it was $5 more but AGAIN without telling me. 3. The whole time she acted like she didn't want to work and do my nails and didn't say a word. 4 when she was doing the powder there were some bubbles on my thumb so I asked her to fix it and of course right away she started talking shit in Vietnamese (which I understand) to one of her coworkers which then came over to the table to look. And of course she acted like there was a problem to me asking her to fix it ... It's crazy how you pay for a service and they don't expect you to correct or speak on what you want . I have been here 3 times but will not be going back. The lady at the front desk is always rude and rushing me to pick a color. When i walked in, the technicians were waiting for me, staring and mumbling in their language. As soon as i sat down, they started cracking jokes and through out the service, they kept laughing and i felt like they were talking shit about me or my nails. They have a sign that says "please enjoy your service in silence" but they literally never shut the fuck up. I paid $65 for my pedi which only lasted 40 minutes instead of 65 minutes like they say. I paid $45 for mani with shellac . If im paying this much money just for service, i expect them to treat me with respect and not throw my hands down when changing hands or sighing out of stress while working on me. And then the shellac technician started filling her nails in front of me while waiting for my nails to dry. How unprofessional. I also want to add, if you get classic mani, they SUCK at painting your nails.. they leave bubbles and streaks, even parts that are unpainted. Just because i don't understand your language doesn't mean we can't read body language and look at your eye movement, i Could sense them laughing at me and being judgmental. One star for bad service (starting with the front desk). Will not recommend. read more

Inconsistent. A month ago my sister and I went in for a manicure and 2 pedicures. My sister's nail tech was super rough and during the entire visit the nail techs talked and talked and talked. We spoke to the manager who said they were not suppose to be talking while working and she would deal with it. Two weeks later I went in alone to get a full set. Kayla did an amazing job and my nails looked super. And today............It was a disaster. My nail tech didn't shut up the entire time and talked to the two nail techs 2 chairs down !! My fill is lumpy and the underside of my nails are rough and I'll have to file them myself. I'm sorry. I spend a good amount of money not only for the service but the opportunity to relax. My mom somehow found Bora Bora and has treated me to some mani-pedi pampering on my visits home. Last week I went on my own before Thanksgiving because I really needed to clean my nails up. I love going to Hana as she is very sweet and precise. I opted for some crazy glittery toe polish, which my brother's girlfriend said made my toes look like mirrors. I usually get the classic manicure and the herbal pedicure. My herbal selection is usually a green tea with lemon and ginger concoction. The massage chairs are very nice, and the pedicure tubs are lined with plastic - everything is very clean. There are so many colors to choose from for polish too. I enjoy the herbal pedi perks which is includes paraffin wax. This is a great place to unwind and pretty up your nails. Guys are welcome too! I spent years looking for a nail shop because I'm pretty picky about my nails (yes I can admit it.) I got so tired of being cut every time I tried a new place, and it would take weeks for my cuticles to heal. I finally found bora bora and I have been so pleased with their services that I'm an every two week regular. I refuse to go anywhere else now. They are very accommodating and no matter what kind of color or change to my nails I want, they make it happen with a smile. Im also a busy person so i was also looking for somewhere that they do your nails and pedicure in the pedicure chair at the same time, (not many places do that, and I don't have time to be there for 2.5 hours while having my services done separately-again, yes i know I'm picky), so I love that it's all done at the same time. It's best to have an appointment but they usually can get you in same day if you call ahead, and they ALWAYS stick to your appointment time. I recently went with my 10 year old daughter, and was charged $63 for her shellac pedicure. Maybe that might be normal, but I would hope not. In addition, it was the most uncomfortable experience. The ladies seem very overworked and slightly ugly to the clientele as a result. Unfortunately i spent almost $300 on two shellac pedicures, my gel refill and my 10 yr old daughters basic manicure. The customer service amazes me at Bora Bora. After your first visit they know your name and use it frequently, they pull your pedi tools before you arrive, they remember if you like the water tepid, warm or hot. When you walk in, everything is ready. The only thing you have to do is relax and enjoy the experience. You are in good hands. As the owner promised, the front reception area is prettier than my first visit. There is a stunning "waterfall" chandelier over the desk and flowers adorning the area. I give them kudos for reading my initial review and taking action. I just love Tammy, the best pedicure I've ever had. She takes her time and I leave with the prettiest tootsies in Houston. She has magical hands and the complimentary shoulder massage puts me into a coma. When I leave I am so relaxed and stress-free. This place rocks! read more

I brought a friend here from out of town to get pedis. The reviews gave me really high expectations, but we both thought this place was just okay. The Classic pedicure entails a salt scrub, hot rocks and a shoulder massage. Other minor things include a heated pad thing that they throw around your shoulders...doesn't do much, if you ask me. Same for the massage chairs...they're okay, but I couldn't adjust the settings to where it actually felt good. The salt scrub doesn't feel good, but the after-effects are great! If the hot rocks are too hot, they will cool them off for you. The shoulder massage is a nice touch, but be prepared to walk out with greasy shoulders from the oil--you might want to wear a tube top or something else that will prevent oil from getting on your clothes. They did a good job painting my toenails so I can't really complain about that. I will say what probably contributed to my mediocre feel for this place was the rushed attitude of the employees. We had an appointment that we booked the day of, but I'm not sure if they overbook because they seem very eager to move us out. Even though they technically started on our pedis before our appointment time... I will say their prices are reasonable...$33 for the classic pedi that we had. Color selection is about average for nail salons. It just depends on what you look for with getting a pedi. If you want people who will be quick and still pamper you somewhat, this is a good option. If you prefer more of a relaxing experience and inviting atmosphere, then this may not be the place for you. read more

First of all, a shellac manicure is FIFTY DOLLARS. That is ABSURD! I almost talked myself out of it, but I decided to go through with it afterall. When I got in the chair, I showed them a picture of what I wanted - a simple chevron design on one finger. No biggie, right? They looked at me like I just demanded their first born children. I was told they can't do designs with shellac. It wasn't possible. Absolutely ridiculous. So I told them forget the shellac - I can get what I want with the design in shellac for $30 at my normal salon. The lady who runs the front desk + the one who was going to do my manicure immediately became very rude and rough. I opted to do a normal manicure. The lady clipped my cuticles too close a number of times and it HURT! I can't remember who did my pedicure, but she was great. Only good thing. Well, it's been about 7 hours since I left, and two ENTIRE nails have peeled off. Not just normal chipping... the entire thing came off in one sheet. This has NEVER happened to me. Unacceptable. Overall, it's overpriced, subpar work, with (mostly) rude staff. Will never return and will let everyone know to avoid this place. read more

Great experience! They are located across from Memorial City Mall. It's a small, clean salon with friendly employees. I found their prices to be reasonable for the level of service provided. They offer manicures, pedicures, full nail sets, refill nails, parrafin wax treatments, eyelash and eyebrow tinting, and face and body waxing. I had the classic pedicure and a manicure. The women were very nice, and talked with me a bit, but weren't overly chatty. The sign on the door said they recommend having an appointment, but walk-ins are welcome.
