While the salon offers a wide variety of services, her eyelash work is truly exceptional. I have an autoimmune disorder and no natural eyelashes, so it's been very difficult for me to find extensions that actually stay on and look beautiful. Tracy's lashes last longer than any others I've tried. Beyond her talent, Tracy is one of the friendliest, most caring business owners you'll meet. She makes me feel confident and beautiful every time I leave. The salon is always clean, welcoming, and relaxing--and if you'd like a mimosa while you're there, she's happy to offer one. Finding someone you trust with your appearance isn't easy, and Tracy has earned that trust completely. Sad to leave this as I loved the old location but they were bought out and moved to the Hmart plaza off Blalock with new staff. The sign says knails but they said they are operating under magic lash & nail now. My MIL gave me a gift card for Magic lash which had moved locations when I tried to visit. Google said they were still open so I called and was told to go to the 1304 blalock address. When I arrived the sign still said Knails. Went in for a premium pedi the last week of May, I now have an ingrown toenail. My feet were also only partially exfoliated and felt very rough when I left. I felt the color choices for the pedi were lacking and was charged an extra $5 for an OPI super stay color that was $1 more that regular OPI online and appeared to me to be regular run of the mill polish. I went in again for an acrylic builder gel refill two weeks later because I had a remaining balance for my gift card. The technician took forever with the gel and was unable to lay the polish on my nails. I was in the chair two hours for the refill and the color looked like lumpy oatmeal. At that point it was an hour after close so I asked if I could just come back and try another color in the morning. I chose another color that was more pigmented the next day but my nails still look like lumpy crap. I'm not super picky when it comes to nails but I will never return to this salon. Please invest in new polishes and retrain your staff. read more

Absolutely terrible. My complaint centers around the actual massage aspect. I requested the CBD treatment, which includes 8 mins of massage on the neck and 8 mins on the feet. I also paid for an extra 5 mins on each foot. Rather than getting a massage, however, I received what can only described as a stroking of my skin. No pressure at all. Not even a bit. It felt like he was lightly brushing my skin. And he never even massaged my feet. He spent less than a minute on my arches but the heels and balls of my feet were never actually even approached. You could even see the lack of oil and lotion on my toes when he said he was done. As for the neck massage? Same, if not worse. But only because the lotion got all over the neckline of my dress and hair and the oils ruined my dress. No pressure whatsoever. It was so uncomfortable just getting the bone of my calves rubbed that it actually hurt. Great polish job. But for $80? Or $100 total with tip?! Not even close. As a side note, the woman who worked on my friend seemed to do an incredible job and took the time to make sure her clothes were protected for the neck rub and actually spent the extra time on her feet and ankles. And she didn't have an inkling of lotion or oil on her neckline. So I think I got the new young kid who does great polish and it's a one off. read more

I saw this place while going back home from the movies nearby. It was my first time and I needed a pedicure badly. The pedicure here is $32. I've seen them for $28 and $30 where I usually go. This place is very zen with massage chairs and many fake flower arrangements. The owner likes flowers according to an employee. Maybe the $32 is because they offer you a drink, including alcoholic ones. My pedicurist didn't speak much English. I had to talk to a co-worker to let her know not to push the cuticles. It's unhygienic and opens up the skin, making you prone to infections. They do have paper shoes if you didn't bring flip flops. Would I go back? I would give zero if possible. Do not get LASH EXTENSIONS here. I made it very clear I wanted natural looking lashes. Wanted volume not length. I came out looking crazy - literally. My lashes are so long they actually touch my eyebrows. There is also a gap where several are stuck together. Have had lash extensions many times and have never come out looking like this. I asked for a pedicure and dip refill manicure, yes, she said, come on thru. I asked if they could be done at the same time, she assured me yes, sat me down and another girl came and started on my pedicure. My sister, mani/pedi, was set up and started at the same time. Over an hour later, I still did not have anyone doing my hands. My sister was ofcourse finished and waiting for me. I asked several times and was told, 'he is coming now, or he is on his way, he will be one minute' I asked the receptionist if she knew when, my feet were finished, she said in 5 mins, that was 12.41. At 12.58 I told her I needed to leave, that I asked when I came in if my hands and feet could be done together and she assured me yes, she replied 'he is very busy, people make appointment so he do them first' I told her I understand that appointments need to be attended to first but she should have told me and I would have come back at a later time. She replied 'well he ready in 5 minutes' which was 20 minutes after her last '5 minutes' I told her I was very disappointed, she sharply and rudely said 'what you want? Apology?' I responded, 'no, its too late for that, but honesty would have been great.' Wow, so very disappointing. The foot and hand service was excellent as usual, and the neck massage, awesome, yes I've been here many times. It would be a 5 star review but for the front of house person. But the front of house lady, swanning around, not being truthful with your clients will not cut it, and will not bring repeat clients with that attitude, certainly not this one. Amazing pedicures. Simple enough. I have had 3 deluxe pedicures so far at Magic and they by far are my favorite out of the places I have tried in Houston. I am particular about how I like my toes shaped and the various things they use on my feet, but I have not been disappointed yet. I always add an additional massage and the paraffin dip to my service to help with dryer skin and prolonging the length of my pedicure. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND their pedicures and I will continue to come back. On 2/6/16, I decided to come by Magic to get a manicure and pedicure combination. They were great about allowing me to get my pedicure first and then my manicure. As usual, I was thankful for my amazing pedicure. I typically go to a different nail salon for my Shellac manicures, but wanted to see if I could do a "one stop shop" at Magic since I come there for pedicures. My service was good and I definitely enjoyed the massage. The color of my Shellac was great and I was super excited because I thought that it went well although it was about $8 more expensive than my normal. Unfortunately the next day, i had my entire pointer finger chip and peel back. Extremely disappointed since the manicure was more expensive AND I had just had them done not even 16 hours prior. On 2/8/16, I went back to Magic on 2/8/16 and they fixed my nail at no charge. I also decided to get an eyebrow wax, which turned out GREAT! Unfortunately AGAIN in the days following my fixed nail on 2/8/16, my shellac continued to chip and peel backwards. By 2/11/16, all but one of my nails had no Shellac. So 5 days and $42+ later, I had no Shellac remaining on 9 of my 10 nails and was super disappointed, as I cannot spend that every week to get a new manicure/Shellac. Aside from the actual services, the atmosphere is relaxing and they are very courteous. Typically they ask multiple times if you would like something to drink, which is great considering the length of time you can be there. The chairs are comfortable and the options for the chair massage are great, although I wish the seat massage actually worked. Overall, they do a great job and are super friendly. While I'm grateful for an amazing pedicure that lasts, I'm not sure that I'll be doing a Shellac manicure again at that cost, unless it last longer. read more

My team and I came here one day for a team building event and we were led into the back room where it was more secluded and quiet with relaxing music. There were about 8 of us and we all got the deluxe manicure/pedicure. Honestly, I thought this was place was okay and not really consistent. I received the deluxe pedicure with the wax, scrub, hot stones, massage, etc...like the normal process. My coworker didn't really get all that until after the technician was done painting her toes and nails. So we thought that was a little odd. She didn't even have to soak her hands in water to soften her cuticles because apparently the tech has a cuticle softener that's much stronger than what everyone else uses...? *shrugs* Personally, I hate getting my cuticles cut because they always overdo it and I felt that my tech was overdoing it but I'm always too chicken to stop them. He did cut me a little and I wasn't bleeding or anything but it did burn and it wasn't until after I was done that I noticed all the cut marks on my fingers :/ I also didn't think the polish went on as perfect as they should be. Very clean, professional and friendly staff. I've been to them several times and they consistently do a great job. They also are pretty good about working you in last minute. About the nails, they do a great job, they take their time and prioritize quality service over quantity of people I.e not rushing clients through the process in order to start the next.
