This place has fixed my cars I've had over the last 16 years I lived here and there really cool people it mite take a bit longer to get car done depending on the issue of corse however if it does yake longer then its toyally worth the wait there very honest and nice people and talented mechanics extremely smart and I've brought many car problems there way and they always figure it out and fix it price I'd say is same if not less then other places around its just a good place they deserve all 5 stars in my book . And his wife upfront she's super friendly and knows the place like the back of her hand she keeps it running smoothly and is always nice to me when I come in. They have never. I took my 2008 Ford Ranger Truck into the Borden Junction Garage a few months ago. I should have written this Review then. The shift in my truck was not lining up in the correct position. For example, when I put it in Drive, it was showing Neutral. They fixed the problem and, also, changed the oil and filter, etc and did a few other things for a very reasonable rate. Then last month, I took my Wife's 2006 Hyundai Santa Fe in because when i started her car, it made a clicking noise under the hood. It sounded very suspicious. The oil hadn't been changed for quite a while. They changed the oil and filter, added an additive to clean the lifters, lubricated the grease fittings, checked all fluids, checked belts and and hoses and added a Sea Foam Fuel Oil Additive. We have a 95 Chevy Silverado and it had a big hole in the muffler. We were asking around and were given a few places. We decided on one place in Brentwood but unfortunately they said they were too busy and referred us to another place in Brentwood, but they were closed on Tuesdays and we really wanted to get this done. My husband remembered driving down Byron Highway and seeing Borden Junction. So I gave them a call. The lady answering was extremely nice took all our info and made an appointment. I am so glad the other places were too busy and not available because the service we received at Borden Junction was great. Every person we talked to was so nice and professional. They gave us a very good price for our muffler and installation and had it done so fast. And there is a smog shop on the same property. So after our muffler was installed they took it next door for us and it was smogged as well. We would definitely recommend. read more

Earlier this year I called a couple times before bringing my car in and spoke to a woman on the phone who was very kind and helpful. I told her I wasn't sure what was wrong with my car but I was very concerned about the cost and stressed that cost was very important. She tried to help with alternatives to bringing it in which was wonderful. I tried a few things myself (changing fuses) and it didn't help. I called and asked about how the cost would work to have the car looked at and she explained it was based on time and I was given a ballpark figure that I was ok with (a couple hundred) I made an appointment and brought my car in the next day. That morning the gentleman had no idea about my car coming in, asked what it was for (I specifically said "just for a inspection/diagnostic for windshield wipers, radio, and interior lights not working") he asked if I had an appointment (I said yes), and told me to "just to leave it". I was hesitant but figured it was a miscommunication with staff, which happens. I went to work and hours later I realized I still hadn't gotten a call about my car. As I went to call them, the lady I had been speaking with prior called me. She said they figured out what was wrong and it was $750. So I said ok that was more than I could pay today, and asked how much am I in currently for the diagnostic? And she replied "oh, no, we fixed it, I'm telling you it's done." My stomach dropped. I explained I never gave them permission to fix it, that I had mentioned to her money was a huge factor, and they were supposed to call to tell me what was wrong before just fixing it, I explained that the car was drivable without fixing it and that I would have waited until I had the money, I told her I couldn't pay that amount. To which she stammered and studdered and said they had never been in this situation and asked if I could borrow the money from someone. When I said I couldn't she said she had to call me back. When she called me back she said there was nothing they could do, the work was done. I was floored and shocked. How do you work on someone's car not knowing if they can pay?! I never signed anything, I never gave verbal permission. I was so very close to telling them to UNfix what they did but this is my car and I need it for work, I was afraid it wouldn't be put back with care or back to the way I brought it in so I was stuck. If it wasn't my car I would have made a bigger fuss but I definitely let them know it was very wrong. I was so stressed because they charge an overnight fee and I didn't want the bill to go higher so I ended up having to take out a loan and when I dropped off the money, she just said "I'm sorry". I even wanted to point out on the invoice that it was blank where it authorized them to perform work but I was so deflated and stressed I just couldn't muster the energy. What's done was done. I will never recommend anyone go or take any vehicle here ever again. Absolutely horrible business practice. read more

My car always gets repaired quickly and at a resonable price I was schocked that this shop can get Mercedes parts in one day and have me driving again, the next day, they have a drop box for evening drop off , that makes my life alot nicer.so far they have worked on my classic,bmw,mercedes camaro,jeep,and did a full engine and transmission swap on my chevelle. So, I would like to start by saying that a few years ago on my way to Modesto to visit my brother, my Miata had popped a hose and was spraying coolant. None of the parts stores in the area had the hose I needed and I stopped into Borden Junction. One of the mechanics dropped everything, pulled the hose out of my car, and found that it was the same size hose that they had spools of in the shop. He cut me an appropriate length and told me to fill up with as much water as I needed. I asked him how much and he told me not to worry about it. I worked in a grocery store in Brentwood and was telling everyone how if they needed anything to see them, as well as why I recommended them (story above). I took another Miata to them shortly after in order to get the engine replaced because the PO had broken the nose on the crank and they told me it would be easier to just replace the whole thing. I asked them to try to find an engine to swap in and if they couldn't find one to let me know because I knew of a couple places I could try and then I didn't hear from them again. I called a week or two later to find out if they had made any progress on finding an engine at which point they said that they were waiting on me to find the engine. This call happened on the Thursday the week before the engine was found and to be delivered on the following Friday. The Tuesday before the engine was supposed to be delivered I received a call from the shop and the woman who works in the office told me that they wanted the car picked up because there had been no work done and the car was sitting there taking up space. I told her that I had found an engine and would be there Friday to drop off the money for the engine if they were still willing to do the work. She said that was fine and that was the end of the conversation. On Friday I showed up with the money order for the engine before work as I had to work at the time the engine was to be delivered and didn't want to just drop off an envelope full of money for the company delivering the engine. When I got to the shop I noticed that my car was missing the hard top that came with it. I walked over to the car thinking that it was odd that the soft top was up because the hard top was perfectly fine but the soft top was not at all and it had been raining the day before. As I got closer I noticed glass on the ground next to my passenger door. I walked to the office to speak with the woman that works in the office about what had happened to the car, and after she spoke with one of the mechanics she came back and said, " The mechanic noticed that there was no top on it on Tuesday when he came in and thought you came and put the top down. So he put the top back up." I explained that there was a hard top on the car when I brought it to them and pointed out all the rips and damage to the soft top which was the reason it had a hard top as well as explained again that the passenger window was broken and also had noticed that my steering wheel had been taken as well. I told her that I was on the phone with the police and they wanted to know if the shop could get the footage from their cameras ready for them for when they got there. The woman informed me that they only keep the footage for 3 days and as it happened on Monday, that footage was gone. So this happened Monday or Monday night, they called me on Tuesday to tell me to pick my car up but said nothing about my car being broken into, didn't call the police, didn't look at or save the footage knowing that a break-in had occurred on their property. Since I was already $2400 deep and didn't have any more money to spend on having the car moved and the engine moved and pay someone else to do the work on top of that, I let them finish the work. They called me about a week after the car had been finished and taken home, to come pick up the old engine. I was working so had my brother pick it up with his trailer. I found that the valve cover was missing, and when I called them to ask about it the woman told me that they had to use the old valve cover because the one on the engine that was delivered was bad, but the valve cover in my car still has the writing on it from the place I bought it. Less than 24 hours after receiving the car a hose popped and needed to be replaced. So far I got a used engine put into my car for $1400 + engine cost. Lost my $1200 hard top and $200 steering wheel, they deny it but someone there hit the front bumper on my car and scratched the bumper/broke the turn signal. The valve cover is leaking like a sieve. Use them at your own risk. I know I won't be again. read more

My first time there was in 2001, when I need repair on my corvette. I was referred by a gentleman that I was talking with while waiting for a table at a restaurant. I had just bought the parts from the Chevrolet dealer and the gentleman said I should take my parts to Pat at Borden Junction to do the repairs, and stated that "Pat is the best in the business". I did just that, and am very glad I did. Pat did the repairs and when I came to pick up the corvette, the repair cost was 70% less than what had been quoted to me by the dealer. Pat then handed me three of the parts back, and told me to return them to the dealer and get my money back, he said that my car didn't need those extra parts, and that the current parts were in perfect condition. Pat is very honest, upfront and runs a very professional, and ethical business. In my opinion, he is the best in the business. Pat has maintained and repaired all of my cars throughout the years. This is the best place around. This is the second time the save my butt. Went in for 4K tranny came out 700.00 for computer and sensor. They could have taken me to the cleaners but they are honest and have integrity. This is the second time they have done this. Also a friend of mine had the same experience. He was quoted 2 k for some work but called Borden junction and they told him 20.00 sensor buy on line and it's easy to fix yourself. He did that and it worked. Borden Junction is the best automotive repair shop out there. I've been going to them for over a year now and each time they have worked on my vehicle, I notice a few small touches they do on top of their work that they don't charge for, like replacing missing screws, tightening things down, replacing bulbs, etc... The first time I brought in my vehicle, it was because I needed to replace my turn signal switch, and I took apart my steering column and when I reassembled it, I screw it up...quite badly. Pat rebuilt it, added a flasher, and replaced some bulbs. He also replaced my gauge circuit board, installed new bulbs, worked on my carb, fixed wiring problems, and tightened some bolts that he noticed that were loose. He also redid all my vacuum lines, and it runs so much better now. Pat is the best out there. He provides high quality service at a low price. He is extremely knowledgeable, fair, honest, and is the only person I allow to work on my vehicle. For all my friends, family, and everyone I meet, I recommend them to go to him to get work done. I have never reviewed a car repair shop before, but after my recent experience with Borden Junction I have to write a review. They are hands down the most knowledgeable and accommodating repair shop I have ever dealt with. After two trips to my regular mechanic and the problem still not fixed, I was desperate and thought I would give Borden Junction a try since my neighbors recommended them. My Honda is finally running right! They wouldn't give up until they could figure it out and now no more stressful trips in my car. I am recommending them to everyone. They're ok. I had a transmission replaced and it leaked fluid. Took it back two times and it still leaks. Not that happy with them
