The atmosphere is clean but a tad loud. I ordered the eggs Benedict with hash browns to be extra crispy. The eggs were Luke warm and the hash browns were absolutely cold. The poached eggs were cooked perfectly on consistency and the hollandaise sauce was creamy and good. The portions are adequate for the cost. Was disappointed in the food's temperature but otherwise it's tasty.

07/26/26: We stopped here for brunch on our way to the airport to go back home after vacationing in Anchorage/Alaska. Food: amazing! We ordered 3 lattes (one with oat milk), the Nordic Smoke omelette with hash and toast, and the Royal Benedict with hash. The omelette was filled with veggies and smoked salmon which paired very well with the cheese sauce (?) and capers. The eggs were perfectly poached for the Benedict. The hash was crispy and flavorful without being oily at all! Service: was efficient and friendly. The usher was doing an amazing job and the wait staff was knowledgeable. Ambience: lighted, warm, and inviting! They have a cute coffee bar in house giving it a cozy feel. Would I recommend and return? Absolutely! It's a newer place - I recommend everyone to check it out. If I'm back in anchorage, I would come back.

Fun atmosphere nice staff large brunch variety menu. We had a big party of 8, unfortunately when I called the day before I was told they don't take reservation for brunch. We waited maybe 20min which was not bad. We all enjoyed the classic expresso coffee and various breakfast plates. The soup was nice and creamy. Sauce over the croque was not too spicy with some verde yumminess. Hash brown on my husband's omlette plate was nice and crispy.

It was a busy Saturday today, and it was packed to the rafters, with a waitlist, to my consternation. A host comes and greets you and takes your name, and puts you on his list. I expected a 30 minute wait at the very least, due to the amount of people ahead of us, however we were offered to sit at the bar, and we took that offer. There are 4 seats, and none were occupied. The space is bright, clean, modern, and airy, freshly redecorated and very pleasant. We didn't realise that Borealis is an extension/offshoot of Harley's Old Thyme Cafe, but it becomes apparent when you see the menu, or one of the coffee mugs that display the Harley's logo. It has a much more modern feel than Harley's however. The decor and seating are beautiful, the chairs are padded and comfy. Black metal silverware. I ordered the Borealis Benedict with home fries and an orange juice, husband got the Croissant Benedict with hash browns and a berry lemonade. My only dislike of this entire experience was that there were ice cubes in my orange juice. Orange juice is better without ice - period, even if you're American. No one keeps oranges in the fridge, as the flavour of them is best at room temperature, and as such ice cubes don't enhance the flavour of orange juice. So I took them out. I haven't marked any stars down for it though because the rest of this experience was divine. My Borealis Benedict had bacon, Canadian bacon, chorizo, poached egg, hollandaise. This was a perfectly poached egg, with beautiful yellow yolk self-saucing the entirety of the meats. The bacon was thick and flavourful but for me, the star was the chorizo, surprising, in that I don't normally like chorizo. This chorizo was different - very savoury in its lead in, and then with a kick of spice and heat. And it was presented as crumbles on the muffin. Really delicious. The home fries were also perfect. Beautifully caramelized and seasoned, the pickled onions added a sharp tangy kick, and the avocado is always creamy green goodness. I could find no fault with this dish. Husband was also raving about his croissant Benedict, he commented on the tasty bacon, and was happy with how crispy the hash browns were. The staff were very pleasant and helpful, I saw one young lady cleaning and sanitizing very thoroughly around the coffee machine. I would recommend this place 100%, for breakfast brunch or lunch, and will definitely be returning, because the menu has many offerings I want to try.

Juevos Divorciados- such amazing flavor with chorizo and the crunch of the tostada was so good! The lattes were fantastic as well!

Cute new spot on Dimond. Everything we've ordered here has been great. They seem to be more known for breakfast/lunch but I also recommend checking them out for dinner.

We flew into Anchorage and saw that Borealis had excellent reviews and decided to eat there. Our experience was GREAT! The staff were attentive, kind, and helpful. The meals came out quickly and we devoured every crumb on our plates. The major hits were the Nutella French toast and pancakes. The side of fruit contained strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, and raspberries (high quality rather than basic melons). The restaurant style was clean, artistic, and open. It was a beautiful space to dine in! We would highly recommend eating here.

Wow! Authentic Cochinita Pibil tacos! Took me back to the Yucatán! The flavors were brilliant and the pineapple habanero sauce served on the side was delicious! Walked in at 4pm to look at the menu and it was packed! Came back at 5:30 and I had the place to myself. This is a little hidden treasure! I will be back!

Good food! Eggs are perrfecttttt! Everything is great except this wall blocking lights from coming in.

The Harley Pancake (waffle form) ask the kitchen please, waffle form not on menu.

The breakfast was a 10/10 experience! The beautifully presented pancakes and savory reindeer sausage paired perfectly with our meal. The coffee was delicious, though slightly lukewarm, and the kids absolutely loved the hot chocolate topped with thick, homemade whipped cream. I asked for the Harley in waffle form, and they happily accommodated it was hands down the best waffle I've ever eaten. The Nutella pancakes were a massive hit, too!

Ate there today with a total of 6 people from Maryland on our first part of a 14 Alaskan trip. The staff was super helpful setting us up for a table of 6. He was humorous and did not make us feel rushed. They served us well and kept coming back to see if we needed anything extra. Food was wonderful and unique.(omelets) We all loved the food and felt we paid fairly. The restaurant was clean and new with an appealing decor and ambiance. Well done!

We found this spot when we got off of our cruise boat and loved it so much we came back the next day before we left. My family absolutely loved the Chicken and Waffles, the Breakfast Burrito, and the Borealis Benedict. Everything was hot, fresh, and absolutely delicious. Great coffee selection and awesome service. HIGHLY recommend coming here for breakfast and lunch!! Everything was fantastic and great portions, such a cute spot with a great vibe.

Food was really good. Wait for food pretty long. Messed up the order coming out but quickly fixed it.

The place is a little outdated, but it's very colorful and it adds to the ambiance of being transported to another place. Staff was attentive and we got to choose where we wanted to sit. They had a paint night type of event that was ending when we got there and as we kept eating more and more people slowly started coming in. Portion sizes are huge....we couldn't finish our food. We took it back to our Airbnb and we repurposed and used the leftover food into new dishes for breakfast the next day. Was this the best Mexican food ever.... well no, but it wasn't horrible. I got the Chile Verde Burrito and it was good. I think that the dishes were basic and there was nothing that took it over the top. Nothing special, no different seasoning. Even though we didn't finish the food, we ordered dessert and shared. The flan.....OMG! Yes, yes, yes! I would go back for the flan. It tasted like it had coconut, but when we asked they said that it didn't. Hmmm, not a bad thing that it tasted like coconut in my world, it just elevated the taste.

We had a BOGO Free dinner coupon so we decided to give them a try again. I had the tamale and relleno combo. The tamale, rice and beans were very good. However that relleno was BAD. It tasted like mold. I ordered another tamale ala carte ATI make up for it. My partner had the chicken suizas and I thought they were good. He thought the chicken tasted like it was precooked and reheated like at another local chain (TK) so he was a little disappointed. I thought it was tasty... The margaritas are nice and strong which is a plus, but not enough to make me return. I think we will stick to our main spot in Spenard for Mexican food...

I was expecting something more hole-in-the-wall (Mountain View has changed so much), but Xalos is an open space with lots of seating and a big menu. I couldn't decide on what to eat but went with the pork carnitas plate. Fiancé went with the birria tacos and we shared some guac and chips. You order at the counter and they bring the food out to you. The pork on mine was very tender and juicy and there was something about the flour tortilla that was different but very good. I seasoned it with their spiciest hot sauce (I could handle on its own, but accidentally ate a jalapeño right after...yikes). I honestly could have inhaled the whole plate but saved some for later. Fiancé is somewhat of a birria connoisseur, and while these weren't his favorite he enjoyed them. Xalos was a great find and good value for the price (a little over $50 for the two entrees and appetizer). I'd love to try their tacos on our next visit.

I know it's not a steak house, but they cook steak for other items so I figured I'd be okay. My partner said his ranchero steak wasn't very good. He only ate it so I wouldn't feel uncomfortable eating while he waited. The meat wasn't very good he said, tasted old. He said the sauce wasn't very good either. For the rise in prices of things quality has gone down. They haven't done much for improvements - my seat had a big gash in it. Unfortunately after being a customer for many years I don't see myself returning here after 3 strikes this year of poor quality food at an inflated price. I think they should consider cutting their menu in half and really focusing on making quality dishes.
