Made a reservation for a Friday night before a show. I tried: + Spring lettuces + Fava puree + Ravioli with sheep's milk ricotta and English peas + Fettuccine with guinea hen ragu + Rhubarb tart Food was good, but nothing really stood out except the dessert. Overall this place fell flat for me - not sure it should be THAT high up on the NYT 100 best list. Service was great though.

Branzino is a 10/10 and the espresso martini that the bartender prepared was extremely gourmet! Highly recommend. This place is a gem!

Came here for a work lunch and it was suprisingly pretty decent! It was pre fixe seven courses and it was so much food. Service was a bit on the slower side though for lunch time. If I were to come here again, I would highly recommend the beets and endive salad as starters, and the branzino and risotto as main. The risotto was not too heavy and perfectly al dente, with a nice smooth flavor. Chicken milanese was good but a bit bland. Dessert was also decent but definitely richer, but extremely satisfying nevertheless. Only sort of miss was the arancini - it was extremely alright. Nice ambiance inside, a bit more on the formal side.

We went to Borgo for my husband's birthday and had a wonderful evening. We were seated in a cozy corner booth right across from the kitchen, which we loved being able to watch the action. The service was impeccable from start to finish - attentive, warm, and genuinely thoughtful. The food was beautifully executed and truly delicious. Each dish felt carefully crafted, with bright flavors and a clear attention to detail. We started with the focaccia, which was surprisingly outstanding. As was the non-alcholic pear wine from Normandy! I can still taste that deliciousness just talking about it. We also enjoyed the olives and the buffalo mozzarella with smoked beets. The ravioli di zucca was flavorful, but the portion was very small for the price. The hen of the woods mushrooms weren't my favorite (likely a texture thing for me, my husband enjoyed them), and dessert felt like something we could have skipped. The only reason I took off a star was the pricing. While the food was good, the prices felt a bit steep for what we received, especially given the small portion sizes on some dishes. Overall, it was a lovely birthday dinner with excellent service and memorable food.

Seems like for several months in 2025 the folks at the New York branch of The Infatuation blog could not stop chattering about Borgo. So, one cold Friday evening in December 2025 I schlepped over to this unremarkable Rose Hill address to see what all the fuss was about. I was pleasantly surprised to be seated solo without a reservation in 15 minutes, and overall enjoyed the restaurant's experience. Think of Borgo as a hipper, younger, cozier sibling of Hudson Yards' Ci Siamo, and with better lighting. Service at both spots is excellent and both feature dishes from Northern and Central italy. When it comes to ambience, Borgo edges out Ci Siamo because the latter can sometimes feel as if one is dining in an airplane hanger. I just wish that some of the mains were less expensive. Nonetheless, I look forward to my next visit to Borgo!

I'm not that familiar with Andrew Tarlow or his apparently legendary Brooklyn restaurants, but it's cool that he opened up a Manhattan-based spot, and in my neighborhood, no less! Borgo is spacious inside - you feel as if you can stretch out and have a guilt-free gossip sesh at normal volume - and there's a lovely-looking outdoor space that's surely perfect for the warmer months. The interior is somehow both elegant and trendy. There's a wood-fired oven. Everyone is well-dressed. We had to wait about 20 minutes past our reservation time of 8:30 to be seated, but we were able to order drinks in the front bar area during this time, and we were graciously comped a glass of wine and an asparagus salad starter, which was a thoughtful gesture. I probably wouldn't have ordered the asparagus on my own, but it turned out to be perhaps my favorite food item of the evening. There was a bit of confusion about which items we were getting gratis because we had been told a couple of different things, but it truly was the thought that counted. Food: -Asparagus: served with arugula and a fried poached egg. The asparagus was mild and perfectly cooked, and the fried egg was so light and reminded me of the airy breading that you get with a fritto misto. -Focaccia Borgo: delicious and distinct from your standard dense appetite killer, focaccia Borgo is apparently a take on Ligurian focaccia-- good to know! It's super thin, crispy, filled with a savory cheese, oily, and topped with gentle herbs. -Buffalo mozzarella (baby artichokes, pine nuts): This was not revelatory, but I have no complaints. High-quality mozz and artichokes bathed in olive oil and topped with mint, pine nuts, and salt. -Lasagna (lamb sugo, pecorino ginepro): I am not always the biggest lasagna person, so this one was for my husband. Overall I found it to be a rich, delicious lasanga served with a springtime-green topping sauce. The lamb sauce was flavorful and unexpected. -Red snapper (morels, leeks): A solid main, rich and savory. The sauce reminded me of a Marsala. Drinks: -Golden Grove cocktail (mezcal, passito, green apple, fennel, lemon): this was really good and refreshing, but also unique. A pickled apple slice was added as a garnish, which dramatically impacted the aromatics of the cocktail. The mezcal, green apple, and licorice notes were the most prominent. -Chilled Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot blend from Slovakia: I have to disagree with another Yelper who said that Borgo doesn't have a good by-the-glass selection. I thought it was interesting and diverse! I adore a good chilled red and enjoyed this glass a lot, which was peppery with red fruits.

Service, flavor, energy! What a beautiful place filled with beautiful people serving beautiful food. A solo dinner at the bar with a martini and hospitable bar tender made this lonely midwesterner feel right at home. Upon recommendation, I got the foccaccia which is like a cracker, but not crispy. Absolutely crazy. A light oil drizzle, some salt, and the smoke from the wood oven made this the perfect starter. The edges have great crisp while the middle is so chewy! The pasta was to die for. I got their veal pasta. The sauce was perfect. Not too thick, and the veal was bursting with flavor. Of course I had to get their house martini. Boozy! Cold! As all martinis should be. This place is jumping every night. For good reason, it is top tier and can hang with the best of em on all fronts: bar program, flavor, vibes, and hospitality

I don't fully understand the hype here or why it's so hard to get a table. The food was fine but I have definitely had much better. Note that everyone seems to rave about their focaccia, but unfortunately that's not available for lunch so if you want to try it, you have to go for dinner. We went for lunch and were bummed. As for other food, the only dish that stood out to me was the fettuccine with guinea hen ragu, which was pretty good. The Casarecce with red shrimp had hardly any shrimp at all and the pasta was undercooked in my opinion. For apps, we started with the fava purée and the stracciatella, which were pretty good but again nothing to write home about. The drinks weren't great either. I got the spritz which I really didn't enjoy - had a weird aloe flavor to it. I could hardly drink it. The espresso martini was decent though. In terms of ambiance, it was fine. We sat in a table in the back, which was quiet enough which I appreciated. There also appears to be an outdoor garden in the back where you can sit but it wasn't set up when we went. I don't recommend sitting at the bar - the bar stools were incredibly uncomfortable. Over all, there are a few decent dishes if you're in the area but not worth a trek.

Had dinner at Borgo and while the food was good, it didn't quite live up to the hype. All the starters were strong--the focaccia was delicious and the marinated mackerel had a nice tang. The house-made fettuccine was perfectly al dente, and the branzino was nicely cooked. The strudel, however, was just okay. That said, we had an 8pm reservation and weren't seated until 8:30. The host stand is awkwardly placed in the crowded bar area, which made waiting uncomfortable. Overall, a decent meal, but between the delay and the chaotic check-in, it didn't feel worth the buzz it seems to get.

We came with my family who was visiting from out of town for dinner one evening, and we had a great experience. The food is easy to share. The portions are a little on the small side, so make sure to order extra. We would definitely come back!

    Pasta e fagioli
    Vishnu G.

Really great pasta. The ravioli di zucca was phenomenal - a flavorful squash filling, and a creative sauce with toasted almonds and a sage butter sauce. After mentioning we were vegetarian, we were offered the pasta e fagioli, which was off menu. This had a rich sauce on top of the pasta with white beans. Finally, the sticky toffee pudding was a nice way to finish - not too sweet and with plenty of toasty caramel notes. It was a bit expensive for $51.50 per person after tax and tip, but otherwise very well executed.

Borgo is a bit of Brooklyn in Manhattan. Took me awhile cause I wanted to sit at the bar and their hard stools coupled with outerwear left me unmotivated. Finally, I went. The service here is super nice & fun. Sat at the bar and their stools room is so convivial. I ate here a bunch when it was I triulli as it's near my office. Are: Escarole salad Heirloom beans Total: $48 I would walk over coals for the beans served with an entire macerated onion. The beans are $$. I like the escarole with fennel & a particular cheese, and it paired well with the beans. I got to try the Borgo focaccia, yum and they will give you She Wolf bread upon request. There's a lot to love here and more to try, maybe next time at lunch.

    Fettuccine
    Secil A.

The focaccia and crostini were very good but the rest wasn't. They don't have a good wine selection by the glass. The ravioli came in cold and dry, and the fettuccine was nothing special. The service was alright. I like the ambience which was romantic and the tables were well spaced out. Their menu changes a lot so I think there is high variability in the quality of food.

Lo and behold, she did have a table for us - as long as we were out in an hour and a half, which was just the right amount of time. Stepping into this place feels like you're in some secret, super special cocktail club. Decor is super high end, vibes are upscale AF. The cocktail menu is incredible -- and incredibly pricey, but truly worth it. I ordered the Valentino which was strong and sweet, really well made. The mint Moroccan tea gave the drink a cool, refreshing taste on every sip. I also tried the Silver Screen, the closest drink I could find to an old fashioned. It was interesting, there was definitely a hint of a buttery taste. Overall a really balanced bourbon drink. I walked in and found room at the standing tables. The bar seating was plentiful and comfortable. There is plenty of space for people to stand behind the bar or a high top tables enjoying happy hour after work. If you go at 4:30 or 5, it's a bit calmer as the after work crowd trickles in. And as the evening went on, it started to get more and more packed, and it became a really lively vibe. After my friend left for another function, I stuck around a little bit longer for a little solo dinner. I had a glass of Prosecco off the happy hour menu followed by a dirty martini, and I did request to look at their full dinner menu because there was a couple items that I wanted to try. I wanted to try the duck Ragu and halloumi cheese, both of which were absolutely fantastic. The halloumi cheese was perfectly grilled and flavorful, and the duck Ragu was very comforting. I highly recommend both dishes. I ended up chatting with a woman sitting next to me who happened to work with select apertivo, and next thing I know one of the bartenders handed me a lovely bright cocktail to try on the house. It was a refreshing bubbly Barlume spritz that I'll definitely have to get again next time. Overall, I had a really great time at Barlume. The service was excellent from the servers and the bartenders, and they were all very attentive, personable and friendly throughout the evening. I'll definitely be back for happy hour or dinner with friends!

Did you know this is where the Beecher's used to be?! RIP, I miss their Mac n cheese.... the vibe is completely different now (think extravagant Mediterranean vibes, it's very instagram-mable with the beautiful bar area). I had made a reservation for 5:30 (again, life with a baby is very different)- we arrived early but the staff were very gracious and were able to get us seated. They seated us in a side alcove area where they had cushioned seating, which was very helpful. What we Ordered: Drinks: Barlume Spritz and Hibiscus Mule (N/A cocktail)- drinks were good, nothing too special but we appreciated the cute stirrers Appetizer: Halloumi- grilled halloumi with roasted eggplant puree. The saltiness of the halloumi went so well with the creaminess of the eggplant. (Baby liked the eggplant puree too hah) Entrees: Lobster Arrabiatta and Duck Ragu and Truffle Pizza. My husband got the lobster arrabiatta and was raving about how delicious it was. He said it was the perfect level of spice. My duck ragu was served with busiate (a corkscrew shaped pasta) which I thought 'trapped' the sauce perfectly so you get a nice saucy bite each time. Pasta was perfectly al dente- my one gripe is that I felt the duck ragu was a bit too salty, which even managed to overpower the tomato flavor. We shared the truffle pizza, which came topped off with stracciatella, porcini mushrooms and shaved truffles. I liked the porcini mushrooms on the pizza, this was a first for me. For dessert (which we had to gobble down quickly because baby was starting to get fussy) we got the pistachio cake. SAVE SPACE IN YOUR STOMACH FOR THIS ONE!!! This was my favorite in the whole meal, the kataifi gives it that wonderful crumbliness and it went soooo well with the mango sorbet that's served with it. Recommend for a nice dinner with friends or a cool place to grab drinks! 4.5 stars

It's a small area with the tables pretty close together. We were given a table in the far corner, which was perfect for comfort and looking out at the restaurant. Two of us each ordered a glass of house wine, which were "ok." We opted for the Boqueria Experience, which is $65 per person and includes a variety of chef-selected tapas, a paella and an order of the restaurant's special JAMÓN IBÉRICO DE BELLOTA, which is described on the charcuterie menu as aged 48 months, with deep marbling, rich and nutty flavor. We enjoyed most of the tapas, including the potatoes, the beef/lamb balls, the salad and bruschetta. The croquettes were "ok" with the heavy aeoli masking some of the flavor. The seafood paella was good and was different from ones I've had in the past, with the caramelized layer on the bottom. Yum. Honestly, none of us was a big fan of the Jamon Iberico de Bellota. I'm sure it's special and luxurious, but we found it not to have much flavor. Frankly, it was a big disappointment for us. The service was beyond excellent. We were very pleased with the timing of the presentation of the meal, the superb water service and the general enthusiasm and pleasantness of the Staff. We will come back and try different items on the ala carte menu. I thought there would be more seafood and meat tapas offerings in the "Experience". Instead, it was a lot of cheese, vegetables, dates and bread. Although $65 per person likely was a good value for what we got, I think the tapas items were heavy on the lower cost tapas and that it wasn't a true top-of-the-line "Experience". A seafood dish or even a chicken dish (chicken wings) instead of one of the two croquette offerings would have helped.

My mom ordered the beet salad. Not usually a fan of beets but I really loved the sauce (balsamic) and it was actually very good. I ordered all 3 mocktails and didn't have a complaint about any. Not overly sweet but not "dirty". Bathrooms are down a few hallways, not too hard to find tho. Overall, loved it. Definitely felt more like a bar than a restaurant.

The interior is beautiful, every corner is eye catching. They even have a screen that showcases his famous quotes. They have an extensive drink menu with themed cocktails. It was busy so things might get a bit delayed but the staff was nice. We ordered a bunch of cocktails. The Exile- This is a sweet and refreshing drink with raspberries, strawberries, vodka, and finished with greek mastiha mint. Secret Knock- This is a smoky drink with a bit of a bite. You get peach liqueur with cinnamon smoke, bitters, and yellowstone bourbon. Robbie's Reverie- This starts with violet gin, lemon, rhubarb, and tonic. Strong and citrusy. Devil's Kiss- You start with tempranillo, a little bit of strawberry apertif and orange liqueur, Finished with blackcurrant and brandy. Fruity with a kick. Great experience overall!

The Spanish charred octopus was my personal favorite so tender, smoky, and perfectly seasoned. The limone pasta was also so good, bright and comforting with just the right amount of citrus. Overall, a very satisfying dining experience with standout dishes throughout.

Classy interior, with mood lighting, and a few different nooks around the restaurant which insulates noise well. We had the Turkish Simit with Feta Butter, Crispy Calamari, Gem Lettuce Salad, Octopus, Pesto Cavatelli, and Chocolate Mousse. I love Turkish simit, and this was tasty, but it should really be served with two breads given the large quantity of feta. The calamari was a big portion and seasoned well with a wonderful fry on them, Salad was refreshing and the octopus dish was awesome. The pesto cavatelli has a lot of buzz, but it was just ok to me, the pesto was missing something. Can't go wrong finishing with the chocolate mousse, we were stuffed by the end of the meal and we didn't even order any mains.
