I very rarely feel compelled to review anything other than restaurants, but the service I witnessed from this moving company was beyond impressive and definitely deserves to be shared. Last weekend I was visiting Boston to help my cousin move into her new place. A few weeks ago I offered to research moving companies for her because I've personally had HORRIBLE experiences with moving companies in the past, so I wanted to make sure she didn't have a similar experience. After researching a few I found in the Boston area, I suggested she use 'Born to Move', because they had a nice website, great prices, I liked all the services they offered, and they were very friendly and professional over the phone, but most importantly, I didn't find any negative reviews on them which was a HUGE plus! So moving day came last weekend, and the movers arrived right on time. Right away we noticed their warm and friendly demeanor, and their clean, neat and professional appearance, which put us at ease right away. My cousin decided to purchase boxes from the moving company to pack all her things, and because she bought their boxes, they delivered them to her at no charge. I thought that was a pretty nice little perk! So we started out packing on our own, but quickly realized we wouldn't be done in time, so she decided to hire 'Born to Move' to help us finish packing... and WOW, they were fantastic! It was SO worth hiring them! They were very fast, efficient and so careful with all of her items, and packed her up in no time! Then they unpacked her just as quickly, carefully and efficiently. They also disassembled and reassembled several of her items with ease, and never damaged a single thing! It might seem like all of these things should be commonplace with moving companies, but trust me when I tell you, IT'S NOT. I could tell you horror stories, but I'll spare you the gory details. In short, 'Born to Move' was truly everything a moving company SHOULD be and more. I was thoroughly impressed by them and would recommend their services to anyone in a heartbeat. I recently just moved out of a one bedroom apartment in Providence, RI. My mom hired Born to Move to help me with EVERYTHING since I live alone (boxing up everything, driving everything back to New Jersey, and setting up/moving everything inside my new place. Born to Move was AMAZING! 1. They paid attention to every little detail (EX: Wrapped my couch, made sure the nails from what what was hanging was tapped to what was hanging). 2. They were so organized and made sure that all the boxes of my stuff was together (EX: all bathroom stuff was together). When they arrived in New Jersey, they would open each box and I would tell them what floor to bring it too (There was three floors!). 3. They wrapped up (used to newspaper) to make sure nothing got damaged for all my kitchen stuff. We spent $1,400 for them to box up all my stuff, move all my furniture, drive everything to New Jersey, set up everything in New Jersey, and bring each box to the designated floor- BEST MONEY EVER SPENT! They were so efficient and timely- they packed up my apartment in Providence on a Saturday which took around 4 hours (9 AM- 1PM) and on Sunday then arrived (8 AM-12PM) which took them another 4 hours. On July 1, 2018, Alfie and Max moved my Mom from Eastern Mass., which was one of the hottest, muggiest days of the summer. Both Alfie and Max worked non-stop from the moment they arrived; up and down three flights of stairs, then a two and a half hour drive to Western Mass, and another flight of stairs before they drove two and a half hours home! While moving out of my Mom's old apartment, Alfie and Max noticed that there was an issue with her sofabed. Before they did anything, they consulted with us so that we could make a decision on what to do. We were greatly appreciative that they consulted with us because they gave us options instead of just doing something that might have added time and cost to the move. True to Alex's word, there were no surprise cost increases from the quote we were given. My Mom's belongings arrived at her new home perfectly. My Mom and I couldn't have been more pleased! I hired Born to Move for our move from our condo to a 2 story house after reading numerous amazing reviews and they did not disappoint! :) Moving is one of the most stressful experiences but with these movers, it was easy and pleasant. I have used lots of moving companies over the past decade in Boston, and this was by far the most streamlined (and even enjoyable) moving experiences I have ever had. Sparing a long review, the following were some of the highlights: -First, Dimitri was prompt with response to my initial inquiry and quoted an extremely reasonable price. -Secondly, on the day of the move, the movers (I believe Alex? and Egor) were punctual, nice and extremely professional. -Thirdly, I was beyond impressed at how careful they were with our things and spent the extra time wrapping each large pieces prior to the move as well as unwrapping, putting things in the right places and assembling them. -Fourthly, they were very careful not to damage our condo or our house -Last but not least, they didn't rush out of our house even though we went over our time and were very careful with clean up after the move. We worked with Born to Move for our recent move from Watertown to Arlington on November 10, 2018. It was a great experience from start to finish. The movers called about 45 minutes before the scheduled arrival time stating that they were about 15 minutes away and gave us the option of either starting early or waiting to start at the scheduled time. I appreciated having the choice and it was great to start a little earlier than planned. The movers were very professional and fast with moving a large amount of stuff. They wrapped the furniture in moving blankets and covered the blankets in plastic wrap ensuring nothing was broken during the move. Additionally, they wrapped the mattresses in plastic wrap covering every part which was great knowing that no part of my mattress touched any floor during any part of the move! The final price was very affordable for the amount of stuff we had to move and was very close to the amount quoted. For reference we were moving from a very crowded 2 bedroom apartment on the 5th floor with a small elevator to a single family house. These guys are awesome! My sister Mary had to move by the first of January, having moved her a few times on the past, I was absolutely dreading it. She is simply not an "easy move" disabled and some what of a hoarder. As nice as she is, is a pain in the behind to move! On a recommendation of my son I asked him to call those guys and he arranged everything ( for which I'm forever grateful-Love you kiddo!) Not only did this company "squeeze" her in on a last minute , first of month move, which is clearly the busiest time of the month for any moving company, Salvador and Julian did it with a smile! She was never made to feel rushed, they were so patient, so consummate professionals. Even taking her add ins in stride. They took great care of all her things, were so careful in loading and unloaded it exactly where we asked in the storage area. The price was exactly what was quoted, extremely fair with no surprises. An absolute pleasure to deal with! They literally took all the stress out of that in the past has been so difficult and did it with efficiency and a smile! These guys are awesome! I had to move out of my apartment on July 31 and move into the new place on August 1. A week before the move, I still didn't have any movers. One company was fully booked and another never returned my calls. When I called up Born to move the agreed to pack up my stuff in the evening in the 31st and store it overnight. They would unload the stuff on the morning of the 1st. When the time came everything went flawlessly! They kept my upadted of when they would arrive. Once they started, they quickly moved my boxes out. When it came to the big furniture, they expertly wrapped it before moving it to prevent damage. They took less than their estimated time by working quickly and efficiently. The next morning went great too. They were on time and unloaded everything into my new studio in less than two hours. Their rates are extremly reasonable and they were both friendly and personable. If I need to move in Boston again, I know who to call! read more

I don't normally write Yelp reviews unless I was really impressed with a business. I had to move a one-bed apartment furnitures from a storage to my home that's 15 min away in a short notice within the same day. I contacted Born-To-Move through Yelp in the morning and Alex replied within in a few mins and assured me that they could help me move that afternoon - very professional and fast response throughout the communication for moving arrangement, I was very impressed. The guys are super fast and professional during the actual move. They are great at using different tools for different furnitures to make sure that nothing gets damaged. I also particularly appreciated they use mat when moving the furniture into my home to make sure the floor and carpet is kept tidy and clean from the dirt and snow outside. Overall, I was super impressed and satisfied with the guys. The price is also very affordable and reasonable. I would highly recommend them! read more

I had a particularly challenging move from NYC to the Boston area (Summertime, lots of stairs, some heavy furniture pieces) and the team moving me stayed extremely positive and courteous the entire time. They made sure my stuff was taken care of and organized. They ran a little bit late (an hour or so, nothing crazy) but called me and let me know the updated arrival time. Once they were heading over to the pick-up, they made sure to give me another call so that I wasn't left waiting. They were also far more reasonably priced than any other movers I spoke to at peek moving time in NYC. To keep things realistic here, we did have one to two wood pieces that had small nicks in them when they arrived. In retrospect, I knew those pieces were a little bit more delicate and should've flagged they needed extra care, but overall everything arrived in one piece and was well handled. My daughter has a very expensive bed, "Born to Move" charges 1/4 the bed price to move it to NY so we called and arranged the transfer. They were right on time in picking up and disassembling the bed in Mass. And right on time in NY city at the apartment building. They have appropriate moving apparatus to facilitate moving large objects through freight elevators and hallways along with insurance (although my daughters building wanted 5 mil in insurance and they carry 1 mil - they worked it out). Bed was in and assembled and they were done in ten minutes. Absolutely stress free. My daughter commented on the professionalism and respect of the two gentlemen who did the move. Excellent job! Could not have asked for a better one. New York has a way of introducing curveballs so nothing is done until it it done, so in this case, I am delighted that it went so well. I have been meaning to do this review for some time but it got delayed. I hired Born to Move with some hesitation but was grateful how well it went. Tyler and his team were excellent and did such an amazing job. They arrived on time (actually earlier which was great), work efficiently and were very courteous and accommodating. I had gotten them lunch and told them to take a break. They responded by saying we were getting close to being done and wanted to get the work done. Afterwards, I asked them to sit, relax and eat, but as true professionals they said we had to run to our next move and took the food to go. I will definitely recommend them to others. The best part was that considering how excellent their service was, they were priced less than their competitors. Only concern I had was that one of their movers didn't speak English and it became a little challenging to communicate with him but we were able to work through it. read more

For my first time moving around Sept 1, I couldn't have asked for a better moving company! I was referred by a friend who worked with them in June. She spoke very highly of her experience and said the price couldn't be beat. (I definitely agree!) I called way too far in advance, but Alex took down my information and called back when they started taking reservations for the end of August. The guys checked in with me before arriving on the day of the move. They then arrived promptly and worked quickly and efficiently. They clearly knew what they were doing! I recently moved from Cambridge, MA to Fairfax,VA and was hesitant to call movers at first but then I got in touch with Alex through a friend and he offered an unbelievable rate. I read their reviews and decided to give them a go. Alex was communicative and swift in sending me a confirmation. On the day of the move, Lamar and the guys arrived right on time and loaded everything at breakneck speeds, all while chatting with my roommate and myself. They loaded everything in less than an hour and were gone. I had few boxes more than the original estimate and they did not even bring it up. Amazing service. We used them for a move from Boston to New York and it was a no frills move but INCREDIBLY worth the price. Other moving companies were standoffish, slow to respond and nickle and dime'd us but Dmitre, Alex and crew were responsive, polite and incredibly hard working. They didnt budge from their estimate (I'll only take a little credit for hte accurate description of our move :) ). If you want stuff like shipping manifests and white gloves, go to the other guys but warning, you'll pay for it. These guys are VERY professional and take care of your stuff but speed and low cost are the priorities. All in all, we paid 1800 bucks (or something around that) for a boston to New York move and that is INCREDIBLY decent. It doesn't get lower than that. Only one thing got damaged (A stand up lamp) and they paid for it without any question. Would definitely use them again if we move back. read more

I moved from RI to NC and had called Born to Move to give me an estimate. The estimate was for Fixed Price and surprisingly so low that I had doubts about the service. I had taken other estimates using Angi List and other web sites references. Born to Move came on the top with hands down and I took a big chance with pleasant surprises. The team came to pick up on time as promised. Packing and loading was very professional with full attention to details to avoid any breaking of the items and scratches to the furniture etc. All members were very respectful. They came to NC without delay. Rather I would say, arrived ahead of schedule for which I was prepared to receive them. Unloading, unpacking and assembly of furniture was professional. Born to Move made what could have been a very stressful day carefree. Everything went super smoothly, and they took very good care of my fragile belongings. The negative is that they called me the day before my move (which I scheduled a month ahead of time) to tell me that they had overbooked, and wanted to reschedule my 8am move for the afternoon. I agreed to the time change, and left a few loose ends for the next day, when I would have all morning before they came. However, on the day of my move, they called at 7:30 am to tell me that in fact they could come for my originally scheduled 8am move. I only had 30 minutes to prepare for them to arrive, when I had planned on having several hours. Everything worked out, so it didn't end up being a huge deal, just a little frustrating.
