If I could give this company 0 stars I would. We used Five Star Movers to move from Cape Cod to Salt Lake City. After paying an arm and a leg, our furniture took 3.5 weeks to get there (which was within the limits of their contract, but still crazy). For 3.5 weeks, we had no communication of where our belongings were. Then, on Mother's Day, I got a call in the morning that the movers were an hour away (with no advance notice). I had to leave a Mother's Day brunch to go complete my move because the movers had to be in California the next day. The movers also left to smoke marijuana in the middle of the move...very professional! Then, once I actually received my belongings, there was THOUSANDS of dollars worth of damage. My couch and 2 TVs appeared to have sat in water and were completed ruined (probably worth about $3,500 total), my peloton was broken ($2,800 alone), multiple desks / nightstands / dressers were banged up, and so on. I filed an insurance claim (which I will admit I did not purchase additional insurance because I'd believed I was using reputable movers who were responsible and reliable) and received an offer to settle for less than $300. I've called Five Star Movers multiple times and have been promised a call back from the manager, which I've never received. I've asked to be transferred to the manager and he's always conveniently in a "meeting". This company is fraudulent, dishonest and negligent. DO NOT USE THEM FOR ANY MOVE. My husband and I are both attorneys and will be filing a claim with the BBB, the American Moving & Storage Association and seeking legal recourse in hopes that other people do not have to go through pain and suffering (and financial loss) that we have gone through.

I hired five star movers for a long distance move. The booking process was good and very professional. Beyond that my experience was terrible. All of my items were neatly packed in plastic crates. It was evident that many of them were rummaged through or spilled as there was dirt on my clothes and some things were missing. Many of the plastic crates were damaged badly. When I pointed this out to the mover he said we have insurance you can file a claim. I was very disappointed by how little care was taken of my belongings.

I came to this UPS store to return something from Amazon. The Amazon app let me pick specific…read morelocations to return my merchandise. It specifically says no box or label needed. Just bring it and let them scan the QR code and you're set. I went to this UPS store location in Watertown this morning and it was not a good experience at all. I should've known, as it has never been a good experience in the past. The older lady there that helped me was surprised that I showed up with just the product (which was in the box - just not an amazon box). She had to check with her manager (older gentleman)...who came over with a tape measure and was like "we can only ship items less than 16". The box was about 17" and he made it seem like he was doing me a favor by accepting it. The lady proceeded to scan my QR code and was like "I'll have to mail it like this (without putting it in another box) and I hope you get your refund from Amazon. We are not responsible. This can get lost or stolen". I asked if she could at least tape the opening to make the package more secure, since she wasn't willing to put it in another box...she said no and reiterated several more times "I hope you get your refund etc". Whatever. Returning something shouldn't be this hard, especially when Amazon pointed me here with those specific instructions. There is clearly a disconnect. This UPS store is not about helping customers. Everything felt like they were doing me a favor, ugh! I would not go here again. I'd gladly put the item back in a box and go to USPS or something instead. I wouldn't have gone here in the first place had the app offered the Wholefoods return option - always a good experience there!

If I could put 0 stars. I would…read more I chose Born to Move based a written quote from the company. Before booking, I was quoted approximately $480-$560 to move a single couch from Chicago to Madison at a rate of $160 per hour with a three-hour minimum. Their website advertised that the hourly rate included the truck, movers, gas, tolls, mileage, insurance, and furniture protection. Based on those representations, I reasonably believed transportation-related costs were already factored into the quoted estimate. Imagine my surprise when my final invoice came to $960 -- approximately 71% higher than the estimate. The invoice included 3.5 hours of labor and an additional 2.5 hours of travel time, adding $400 to the final bill. My issue is not simply that the move cost more than expected. My issue is that the estimate, website advertising, and billing structure did not align. The website repeatedly states that transportation costs are included, while elsewhere disclosing that travel time is billed separately. Important pricing information appears buried deeper in the website rather than alongside the headline pricing. I also found multiple hourly rates listed throughout the website, making it difficult to determine what pricing actually applied. Had I known the move would cost nearly $1,000 rather than the quoted $480-$560, I would have obtained quotes from other moving companies before booking. To make matters worse, after filing a claim, I was informed by the claims administrator that the review process can take up to 120 days and that no status updates would be provided during that time due to call volume. As a customer, being told to wait up to four months without any updates does not inspire confidence that concerns will be addressed promptly or transparently. The movers themselves were polite but unprofessional. The pricing transparency, billing practices, and claims process left me extremely distressed as this was a gift for my mother and I had saved up for it. I would strongly encourage anyone considering this company to get detailed written clarification regarding travel-time charges and total expected costs before booking.
