Went for lunch around 1:30 on Saturday. There's a good sized parking lot, so even though the place was busy, there were multiple spots for us to choose from. We ordered a Jimmy's chicken cutlet special sub, but since my friend is allergic to red peppers, we asked to have it without. The woman taking our order suggested fresh tomato instead, which ended up being a great idea. Our sub was ready in about 5 minutes. The bread wasn't anything super special but it was fresh and hearty enough to contain the ingredients. The cutlets were plentiful and delicious. We ate in their little dining area. Ordered 2 subs online for lunch. A large Italian and a small chicken parm which came to $32, a bit ridiculous out the gate price wise but I wanted to try them. I get there 20-25 minutes after placing the order and check in at the front of the store, not ready so I stand to the side. 5 minutes goes by, 10 minutes goes by...close to 15 minutes the girl hands me one of the 2 subs and says this one's ready, ok. I stand to the side and wait another 10-15 minutes for the Italian sub so in total about 45 minutes or so for 2 subs. The chicken parm was honestly not good, lacked flavor, chewy, thin chicken cutlets overall flavorless. The Italian was pretty good. For the price, the wait and the overall lack of any kind of system to get food out on time I'd definitely never go back nor would I suggest anyone bother going at all. read more

Went there today for lunch. Ordered chicken parm sub with sauce and cheese. Came out with no sauce and cheese and it was cold. Went back to correct my order, the woman at the counter was obviously annoyed that I brought it back, to her I apologize I brought her my business. They added the sauce and cheese, the bread was still cold. Was hoping for more from this place based on their reviews. Wow ok so if you are looking for a great traditional Italian sandwich. I don't think you can get better than this place . Ordered the napolitain sandwich and I got to be honest it was huge ! It's got chicken cutlet cold cuts Italian peppers. Plus it's all held together with a great bread fresh and tasty. The service was friendly and quick , the price was fair by today's standards. Ordered a Reuben sandwich because my coworkers recommended it from this place. And they were right. This sandwich was delicious. I got it with corn beef. Very generous amount of meat. Bread wasn't too dry for this type of sandwich. Right meat-to-bread ratio. Right amount of cheesiness. This was also my first time having sauerkraut in a sandwich and it just works. And the sweetness from the Russian dressing brings it over top. Look at my pictures of the sandwich. It is a work of art. This sandwich also comes with chips. I wished instead of chips the restaurant, had something they made in-house but the sandwich more than makes up for it. Overall, my coworkers had great things to say about other sandwiches here and their recommendations have earned my trust with this Reuben sandwich. I will come back to this place to try other things. The thing with Borellis, chicken cutlet subs are great. Other than that I haven't had anything noteworthy. Chicken cutlets are amazing here, but the Italian sub is not really an authentic Italian sub. The meatball and chicken parm sub have a flavorless sauce. Meatballs can be a bit softer. The chicken parm would be great if the sauce changed. The bread is always good. For methuen where food isn't the greatest to begin with this is not bad. read more

Just finished subs from Borelli's. I had a Sicilian, my hubby ordered the Valley. One word sums both up "AMAZING!!!!!!" We did take out but there is a cafe area to eat in. The imported Italian Cold Cuts and Cheeses were top quality and plentiful, the accompaniments perfect, and the fresh Italian bread the best. Recently had a Buffalo chicken cutlet sub from here and it was one of best I've had in Massachusetts! This sub was a special for the day (which they allowed me to modify) and every bite was delicious! Wish it were a standard menu item, but I think it's always available if you just ask. For those of you that remember, this is the old Mama Mary's spot on Merrimack Street. It's been Borellis for many years. The original owner definitely made a name for himself in Methuen. There is now a new owner, didn't change the name and has made some order processing changes for the better. It does throw you off because everyone was used to the old ordering method. Nothing has changed except some new faces. The reason why it is a good Italian store is the people. Good seating in the eat-in dining room. Expert sandwich makers Veal parm is my go to (secret is the milk fed veal) Best Ruben in the Merrimack Valley Let's put it this way, I have never been disappointed. Their deli has premium cold cuts, sausage, prepared meals, stuffed peppers, rice balls and multiple salad selections. I've always loved Borrelli's Deli. They have subs, paninis, soups, and daily specials. The place is always busy, but the turn around from placing an order to receiving it is really fast. They use Tripoli bread for the sun rolls which just elevates the whole sandwich. This is the only place I go to get an Italian Sub. The staff are polite and attentive. They also have a deli counter with really good meats, and sides like potato salad etc.... They also have prepackaged take home meals, and a small dining area. The prices are a little bit high, but not when you compare it to lesser food at some places. Basically what I'm saying is it's worth it. I highly recommend stopping in, you won't regret it. Just be aware that around lunch time you will hit that lunchtime rush, so there may be a line, but like I said previously, it moves fast. read more

I really like Italian deli's. Dennis's Italian friend highly recommended Borrelli's so I came here to check out the goods. It has a deli, for sandwiches, small meat counter, small grocery area and pre-made meals. Their antipasti dishes looked really good esp the stuffed peppers. The process are a little cheaper than the other Italian stores nearby (Mike's Red Barn) but the sausage that we got was a bit dry and not as flavorful as the competition. The service is lacking. Was just there to get some food for a gathering this weekend. There were literally 4 people in the store. There was a cashier working but was on the phone. There were 4 workers behind the counter working. I was standing there waiting and someone came in after me and was waited on before me. It was like I was not even in the store. When I brought it to someone's attention they just looked around and then at me not even an apology.I ended up saying forget it I'll go elsewhere and left the store.
