My husband was so hungry (and he hates to return anything!) that he ate his half without a hitch, until he got to the end... Then he too agreed the bread was old! I on the other hand, noticed it right away, but gave it the benefit of the doubt and smothered my quarter piece (half sandwich was served cut in half) with mustard and mayo. I really tried hard to enjoy it, but it just wasn't happening. I decided to let them know that the bread was stale and the lady at the counter told me I should speak to the manager who happened to be up at the register. I showed her the remaining quarter piece and told her I wasn't expecting a refund, but that she should know that the bread they had served was definitely old. I even handed her the bottom piece of my sandwich bread and she took it into her hand and said, "Oh, this is hard!"... That was it! Nothing else! No apology or anything else. Nevertheless, I didn't eat the half that remained and we cleaned up and left. It makes me sad, because this is a pretty popular spot for us when we don't feel like driving into town.
