It was her first day working a solo shift, and it was clear that she hadn't been properly trained. She didn't know where things were and constantly had to text her boss just to answer basic questions. She was visibly stressed, but she did best she could under pressure. It is incredibly unfair and deeply unprofessional for management to abandon a child to run an entire business alone without giving them the basic tools or support to succeed. The worker seemed annoyed when I asked for chocolate chips that weren't wet and pointed out how it looked. She said no and seemed unbothered by how unhygienic the toppings bar looked. She was not an enjoyable person to engage with. She seemed more interested in taking to a boy who was hanging around. Based on that experience I would not go back.
