If you are not ordering seafood paella, pulpitos a la Gallega, pan con tomate, and/or sangria, then you're doing it wrong. Small space so call ahead and make a reservation and if you want to be very well prepared, go ahead and tell them that you will be ordering paella!!!! Literally nothing bad to say. Went with 4 people total. Got 2 pitchers of sangria, bread, tuna croquettes, I got a pork dish, my friend got salmon, and then the 2 others both got a seafood noodle dish. THEN we got a Paella for 4. Way too much food, BUT it was so good we finished it all. Seriously the best meal I had in Barcelona and in a long time. The best part? That whole meal was 96 euros TOTAL. We came around 8:30 and we were able to be seated quickly without a reservation. By the time we left there were so many people waiting for a table! Nice atmosphere, totally casual but great service. I went here last night for dinner. It was fantastic. I had the "Pavo Milanesa" which is lightly fried and crispy turkey, served with delicious french fries. The seafood paella here is AMAZING. The saffrony tomato sauce and rice are perfectly caramelized at the bottom while rich, steaming and thick at the top. The seafood is cooked to perfection and if this dish was available in the states, I'd probably eat it everyday... for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The only downside was the service. The guy who seated us and waited on us (an oldish man with white hair) was impatient, rude and made us wait for 30mins before taking our order even though the restaurant wasn't busy when we went (around midnight on a weekday). The other food on the menu such as the breaded pork dishes and the steak aren't all that appetizing and more greasy than tasty but the only reason I can think of that anyone would visit this place is for the paella! So if you ever find yourself in Barcelona, come here for the best paella dish of your life :) read more

I had the seafood paella and was sadly disappointed only because of all the great reviews (I was expecting a little more flavor). However, it was okay. On the night of the Barcelona terroristas attack, we went out for dinner & this place was packed. While initially it had a 1.5 hr waiting list timeframe, we pulled some strings & sat ~20". Great tapas: patatas bravas, boquerones y calamares a la Romana. Adults enjoyed Paella de Mariscos, & the young ones: pork ribs & escalope de pollo (breaded chicken). Deserts were impressive: profiteroles, crema catalana & tartufo. An amazing Albariño bottle joined us for dinner, & the cherry on the top bring the cafe con leche. Slowest and most inattentive service ever but the best Paella ever. We came in and it took about 15 minutes between waiting for the menus and flagging down someone to take our order. It is a big restaurant with a bar. The wine and sangria is not that good but I also didn't like any wine in Barcelona. Anyway, we ordered the seafood paella which takes about 30 minutes to make. Paella has this perfect acidic and salty flavor as well as the seafood sweetness. The sausage, chicken, and seafood were just all an amazing mix in this super hot pan of paella. The food was delicious and fresh, we had the chef's suggestions: baked goat leg and chimichurri ribs. Both dishes came with French fries and were really good portions. The flavors for both dishes were really good, it was a different take on Spanish cuisine besides the paella and tapas. The chimichurri was a combination of sweet and salty flavors which was very different from your Argentinian chimichurri. We also had the almond cake which came with a side of almond liquor. The cake was really simple, a little sweet and a nice balance of almond flavor. We will be coming back to try the paellas. read more

I give this place 2.5 stars. We got in at 8-830pm and got a table quite quickly. It got packed around 9pm. We ordered a salad (fresh and basic), mixed grilled meat (my boyfriend really enjoyed this), and the paella mixta (as other reviewers have stated... it was too salty. I was pretty disappointed as I was quite hyped by the reviews). We received the first 2 dishes quickly... then waited another 30 min after eating our first dishes for the paella. We saw 3 other tables receive their paella before us and they had arrived much later than us. The prices were really cheap. So I guess you get what you pay for. Fantastic paella!!! Came here during our honeymoon and my wife's birthday and it did not disappoint. Seafood was fresh, rice wasn't sticking to the bottom of the pot, and the sangria was on point!!! Small spot, but well worth it if you come here. Love the little tap they have when they pour sangria into the pitcher. Loved the prices for the entire meal. Can get a paella for 2 for 20 euros. This place was filled with mostly Americans when we arrived at 8:45 pm. This to us was not a good sign. There was a couple from France at the next table. We chose the place based on the Yelp and other reviews, and so apparently did most of the other patrons. We ordered the seafood and the meat paella, along with a pitcher of sangria. The paella was nothing special. The seafood was overcooked so that the mussels and clams and shrimp were completely dry--left too long under heat. The rice was tasty and the octopus mixed into the rice was tender. I have had much better paella in Barcelona this week, and in Spain on other trips. We should have ordered two pitchers of sangria, and we would have had we known we would get no additional attention from our server. The service was horrendous. Other reviewers who have commented that the service at Bosque Palermo is much worse than the usual laid back Spanish way have it right. After spending a week in Barcelona eating at restaurants the entire time--this was our 6th night in town on this trip--this was not the usual leisurely pace we have no trouble accepting at other places. But this was neglectful to the point of ruining the experience. Our waiter kept flying by our table averting his eyes when we tried to order another pitcher of sangria or additional sharing plates. Eventually we decided we'd just leave and carry on at a bar in the neighborhood because we were not going to get any attention. We noticed the French couple next to us grew so frustrated they went up to the bar to pay and leave. We managed to get our check 10 minutes later and I produced my credit card to indicate we wanted to go. He said he'd be back with the machine. 25 minutes later, still nothing from our waiter, though he rushed passed our table numerous times with a finger in the air. Amazing paella. I came here due to the reviews on them. I ordered the mixed paella *2 ppl min @ 10 euro each*. It was a mix of seafood and meat. There were plenty of seafood and meat. The meat was very tender, it fell right off the bone. It was messy to eat prawns, but the work was worth it. The paella was piping hot when it came out. I had walked past this restaurant and always noticed a good sized crowd so I finally decided to try it and I was not disappointed! A friend and I were sat right away and served as soon as we were ready to order. The cava was very good and very reasonably priced. We had the pan con tomate which was good but not the best I've had and then the meat paella. The paella was delicious and very filling, we shared between two people and managed to have leftovers. This is our last night in Barcelona and we absolutely HAD to have real paella before we left. The first night we got here, we tried some at a restaurant that we happened upon and it is the frozen stuff they heat up in the microwave/oven and bring out to you. I think it's called paellador. So after learning we just had the "rip off"/"fake" paella, we had to go somewhere where they prepared it in house. Their seafood paella was delicious!! MUCH better than the frozen stuff (of course) and had many flavor profiles to it. The menu says it is 10€ per person and is about a 30 minute wait. If you decide to go for the paella, get another dish or salad (we opted for vegetable soup- pretty good) so that you aren't sitting around anxiously waiting while your stomach gets mad at ya! There are options for the paella. Seafood and "mixed", not quite sure what the second consists of but of course we got the seafood. I would have to disagree with the previous poster about the amount of seafood in the paella. I think it was sufficient. Any more seafood, I feel would be overkill. The paella itself already has pieces of chopped seafood and each person got one whole shrimp, one whole crawfish, about 4 oysters and 3 clams. I don't remember it exactly, but I was just fine with the amount. I don't typically eat seafood, so I may be biased but I eat paella so I can eat the flavorful rice! Boy was it.. Flavorful! Worth the wait and €. I don't believe it to be risottoesque, but I have never had authentic paella before so I am not sure what it is supposed to be like.. All we had to go off of was our taste buds. They liked it. The only downfall (hence the -1 star) is that the oysters needed to be cleaned a bit better. There were parts of it that did not look familiar- I think most restaurants in the states may consider that hairy looking part to be trash. We asked for the recommendation to accompany the paella- the server said that sangria goes well. It wasn't on the menu, but is offered. We got a half pitcher for about 7€. A full pitcher maybe about. 12,50€ish. Our pitcher was about 3/4 full though, so it was a good deal at about 4 full glasses each. When you decide to come here for dinner, just be aware that their wine menu is for bottles. They will range in price and it does not specify if it is a glass or bottle...it is a bottle (or more accurately a carafe) full of wine. There are options for half carafes as well. Service was quick, attentive, and no frills. Just the way I like it! We spent 31€ on the soup, paella, and half pitcher of sangria. No buyers remorse here. read more

My son and happened to be staying at a nearby hotel, and luckily walked by this fab restaurant. And thank goodness we did, as it was the dinner highlight of our short stay in Barcelona. Although neither of us ordered the paella, we loved the grilled and very fresh seafood platter. We also tried a Spanish steak of some kind (neither of us speak Spanish but trust me delicious!)) cooked perfectly alongside a side of garlicky greens. And of course the house wine... We got food poisoned after eating here two nights ago!! My husband and I ate there two nights ago. We arrived at around 8:15pm and there were a few tables already -- all tourists like us. We came for the seafood paella but decided to order a house salad too because we wanted something clean after three days of rich food in Barcelona. The salad didn't look fresh at all, it didn't have any dressing on it. Just iceberg lettuce with some chopped red onions, carrots, and olives. We ate it nevertheless because we really wanted some veggies. The seafood paella was not bad, we ate it all. BUT WE BOTH GOT FOOD POISONED THE NEXT DAY. I VOMITED TWO TIMES AND HAD DIARRHEA THREE TIMES. MY HUSBAND WENT TO THE BATHROOM A FEW TIMES BUT HE COULDN'T THROW UP, SO THE VIRUS PROBABLY STAYED INSIDE HIS BODY AND HE HAD A FEVER LATER ON AND STAY IN BED ALL DAY ON THE LAST DAY OF OUR TRIP. IT'S BEEN 24 HOURS AND HE IS STILL FEELING MISERABLE IN BED WHILE I WRITE THIS REVIEW. We think it was the salad but who knows, could be the seafood in the paella. Montjouic was our plan the last day but now we didn't get to go. We are leaving today. Yes paella at this place was not bad, but that was the only paella we ate here so we had nothing to compare to. Yelped the place looking for a good paella while in Barcelona, just left Madrid and found great spot there on Yelp. I disregarded bad reviews because most said the paella was pretty good. Big mistake, the service is terrible, I couldn't wait to pay my bill and leave. Once again the paella was pretty good, but if service isn't an issue be my guest. For the other items, the Sangria was ok, I haven't tasted to many sangria that was bad. It's a very easy drink to make, most restaurants can make it with there eyes closed. Lastly my wife had the cream brûlée, she said it was pretty good as well. (I didn't taste it, as I said early I was ready to get the hell out of there) you've been warned about the service, take heed. I wish I did. I can only reiterate what so many people have said about this outstanding little place. The food is delicious. The portions are huge. Tapas prices with American portions. I thought my five euro pork loin was going be small and I would need to order more plates but it was two generous filets and I had to give one to my fiancé because I had so much food. The seafood is spectacular and I would highly recommend the mixed grilled fish plate. It's not only fish but mussels, squid, salmon, whitefish, baby squid and langoustines. You cannot beat these prices in a tourist town. We went several times during our vacation this month because we never found a restaurant that compared in quality or value. The house wine is very cheap and tasty. Service varies from awesome to good depending on who serves your table- but we had a language barrier to compete with.
