If you are ready to chow, this place is it. Love that they offer both vegan and chicken. I got the vegan meal, and I was expecting a "chicken" replacement along with the fried zucchini. I bit into my sandwich and saw it was just the fried zucchini and I was really happy! I dunked the sandwich in the sauce and drizzled vegan ranch all over. So glad I got this to-go, I was a total savage. Sweet potato was massive, and the apple butter sauce is chefs kiss. We both had the parm sandwiches (one vegan), a sweet potato, side of chili, and a bottle of ranch that costs us $36. Typical takeout price. I assume the owner is who waited on us. She sold me an entire bottle of vegan ranch before I had ever tried it, she's a great sales person! She is SO friendly and having someone be super cool and kind will always bring me back. The two guys cooking seemed to be in good spirits. Which shows they are being treated well. I feel bad when I go somewhere and the employees are miserable. Since everything is made to order, don't go in hangry. It was fairly slow when we ordered and it took over 30 minutes. No big deal, but just a heads up during these high volume takeout times to not expect your meal ready in 15-20. The vibe of the place was awesome! Straight forward menu centered around chicken and wings. We went here yesterday for dinner because it was on our list of new places to try and we were in the area so we gave it a shot. I got the 4-pack which is 4 chicken tenders, one side, and one sauce. My boyfriend got the wing and chicken combo which was a pound of wings, 3 chicken tenders, 2 sides, and 2 sauces. We both had the queso mac n cheese, he had the fries, blue cheese and the citrus bbq sauce. I had the honey mustard. We both also had local beers. Pros: everything tastes really fresh. Fried foods like this have a tendency to be caked in heavy breading and greasy. The breading on the tenders is thin and flavorful and the chicken tenders themselves are HUGE. Two put together were the size of a big chicken breast. The wings were equally large, I'd say about 8 came in the one pound order. Sauces were great. The blue cheese was super thin and had fresh chunks of blue cheese in it which he didn't love, but again really fresh and they taste made in house. The citrus bbq and the honey mustard were awesome. French fries are thick and have a good flavor, you can tell they are from fresh potatoes. There are gluten free options which is super appreciated at a place like this. I think all of the beer and alcohol options are local too which is really cool. Cons: the queso mac n cheese left a lot to be desired. It's good, a little bland. It's literally like regular egg noodles topped in a layer of queso cheese and shredded cheddar. It's more of cheesy noodles rather than mac n cheese. For me, mac n cheese is smaller noodles fully baked into a thick and creamy cheese sauce. This was just noodles topped with a layer of queso. Just something to keep in mind if you're anticipating regular mac. Overall we both agreed we would go back. Not a bad little spot! Lots of people came in for takeout orders for the hour or so we were there so it would be a good place to pick up food for a game or something on tv. read more

I tried Boss ChickNBeer for lunch today with coworkers. We had carryout. The online ordering process was super simple and an email was sent letting us know the food was ready. The wings come without sauce and they're delicious with or without it. I tried the spicy BBQ, citrus BBQ and honey mustard. All good sauces - the citrus BBQ was my favorite. The fries were hand cut and yummy. I also tried the slaw, which was just ok. Tip: 2lbs of wings can easily feed 3-4 people with sides. Tried the Tupac -at first I thought it was some fancy chicken special as I'm from the West Coast -Bay Area Cali to be precise. But no lie i asked the host "What's a Tupac?" And he looked at me as if I had killed his puppy- and didn't say a word. Lol. No lie it took me a quick minute to figure out the Tupac was a "two pack" of chicken strips that comes with 1 side and 1 sauce. Tried the Brussel sprouts, pickled veggies and fries. The sauces we tried were BBQ, Cleveland gold, and jalapeño Buffalo. All the sauces had some level of spiciness to them. I'd say the Cleveland gold is mild, next would be bbq which is a tad bit spicer, and then jalapeño hot is pretty spicy (and I like SPICE). The fries were seasoned well, not too salty but just right - you don't even need a dipping sauce. The Brussel sprouts were pretty good as well (I've definitely had better) but they did the trick, and the pickled veggies(carrot, banana peppers, cauliflower) had some spice to them and had a strong vinegar taste (not your typical pickled flavor). The chicken batter appeared to be seasoned. But the flavor wasn't there. The sauce really helped bring out the flavor. Chicken was not dried out, it was semi moist. This is the place that vegans and meat eaters can come together and everyone is happy!!! First off the staff is supper nice and helpfully. When I said I was vegan she said they can make a lot of the sides vegan for me. She also told me which sauces are vegan. They also have vegan beer!! Where to begin!!!??? This place is awesome... forgive me for speaking to the energy and company you are greeted by before the food- but once you walk in you can feel the warmth and good vibes! There were two men working when I stopped by, and they were awesome humans. I'm grateful to have hung out a bit while waiting for my food (which was prepared FRESH)! I don't know where to begin! My boyfriend and I got the chicken wings and tenders combo! Huge portions and DELICIOUS FOOD! The Cleveland gold sauce is great! And I also ordered the rage bbq and garlic parm. All so, so good! I also got the first chicken sandwich on the menu (I can't remember the name) and it was HUGE!!! I usually don't like pickles on my chicken sandwiches.... but I loved these! Just ok. Their method is cool them well - see photos. Limited sauces on their menu. They have a nice spicy buffalo/ jalapeño. I found their Cleveland Gold had way too much mustard. Onion rings were cooked well but very very bland. I dipped them in sauces to try to get flavor. Only craft sodas here. No Coke or Pepsi. I was underwhelmed. I was so excited to check out Berea's newest restaurant, which is owned by the fabulous crew from Boca Loca. Upon entering, you immediately realize that this is not your typical wing joint - in the BEST way possible. It's set up like a diner, but the best kind of diner because they serve wings and beer! The menu is simple, which I love. I prefer places that specialize in a small menu, because it usually means that they are experts at preparing whatever is on that menu, and this place is no exception. I took my three children for an early dinner and ordered 3 pounds of wings and a 4 piece tender meal with Queso Mac and Cheese. The wings come out on a metal tray, along with dipping sauces of your choice. They do NOT toss the wings in sauce, unless you want to pay $100 lol, which I wasn't too sure about. I ended up loving the fact that they weren't, and chose the jalepeno buffalo, wings tang glaze, and citrus bbq. The wings were phenomenal. Seriously, and I know wings. Danny Like Wingy. The tenders were a pleasant surprise, as well, because they are HUGE and also tasty. The Mac and Cheese was a favorite of my 11 year old daughter, too. Checked out Boss for the first time on a Thursday for lunch. The spot was decently crowded. The lack of 5-stars comes from the service... it was just ok. It was a little hard to understand where and when you order. I can see this being a problem in the future so I would recommend they make ordering more clear. The staff was friendly, but not overly willing to acknowledge you. For the food, I don't like wings (sorry not sorry) so I cannot speak on the wings but the chickntenders were some of the juiciest chicken tenders I've ever had. The breading is light and has a little crunch but tastes phenomenal. The sweet potato on the menu is literally a whole roasted sweet potato that comes with this INCREDIBLE honey butter that I wanted to bathe in, tbh. I also got their honey mustard sauce and thought it paired well with the chicken. They offer a really great selection of small local breweries beers, FREE iced tea (that's really good) and lemonade.
