Pounders was not what I was hoping for unfortunately when I dropped by the other night. After walking in to get a drink I noticed the vibes were way off. This is not your late night spot with a bunch of people eating wings and having a good time, this late at night becomes a more sad and depressing place to be. The beer coming in plastic cups, if you can get it served to you, and the kitchen closing obnoxiously early (by 10pm when I went). Is there quite a wing selection and beer selection, yes there is. But getting served took over 15 minutes for an empty bar, and the kitchen closing so early when your whole job is to feed people and get people drunk in a fun vibe is just failing. In town to watch the packers beat the browns and stopped in for some wings and cheese curds. The place seems like a good neighborhood dive bar serving drinks in disposable plastic cups. I went in around 8pm and had no problem getting a table, but they weren't dead either. The music was pumped up and plenty of sports on the TVs. I went with the lemon pepper wings and curds. The flavor was outstanding and both had a good crunch yo them and came out quicker than expected. The woman who served me was attentive and on top of her game, not just serving me but with everything. She was hustling her ass off and seemed to be bouncing around everywhere doing a little bit of everything. It seemed maybe they were short staffed. The venue was bright and cheerful; the staff were helpful with questions regarding the menu and the daily / monthly specials. Unfortunately, the corned beef & sauerkraut egg rolls were more like mass-produced dough rolls with minimal sauerkraut and a hint of corned beef. The wings were nice and meaty but over salted, beyond the sauce. The patty melt and triple smash burger with associated (hand cut????) fries were outrageously salted to the point where we could only eat half the servings and did not bother with the rest for take-out. We still left a 20% tip because the staff was nice and the service was very good. Unfortunately, (as they explained), they season their hand ground meat patties BEFORE cooking and then load them up with salt while cooking. As a result, the normally salty bar food was overwhelmingly salty. We'll probably go back for a night cap but shy away from the Bar Food. read more

Came before league bowling for the wing's special. The number of different sauce varieties is very imoressive. I had the Thai Chili Garlic and it was awesome ! Just the right amount of sweet and heat! I tried my husband's garlic Parmesan and it was 'ok'. It was a bit bland for my liking, but he enjoyed. I also had a Bacardi lemon with Diet Coke. It was good and great special price. This is a sports bar - plenty of TVs with sports and news. Our server was the best - attentive and kind. Don't let this strip mall location deter you from trying. If you eat chicken wings then this place is a must stop. Not only are they outstanding but they're consistent. The fries are also at the top of the game. My issue with the fries is they are not hot in fact most times they're served room temperature like a potato chip. Now let me state they are not greasy but also not crisp, but browned and seasoned and very good. I just wish they came out as recently pulled from the fryer and warm if not hot. Worth a lost star for the fries but still 4 stars is worth a stop in. Service at the bar is always exceptional. read more

After a recent round of disc golf at CCCW my crew popped in here for wings, beer and baseball. The server who helped us was a bit overwhelmed (think they must have had a call-off), but she handled it like a champ! We all ordered our beers, placed our wing and side orders and settled in to the Guardians game on the TVs. Wings came out piping hot and were well sauced. I chose two flavors...house Buffalo and then dry rub Cajun with honey mustard. I also got an order of onion rings. Everything was well prepared, sauced appropriately and the rings were just the right crispy. Could be a go-to spot after future disc golf rounds in the area! read more

the love affair is over. i want to make it clear that the servers here are great. Theressa, Lisa and the rest have always been great. today, though, Danielle and I went in AGAIN for lunch because the wing special on Sundays is the best deal in town (this one or any other). we were informed, however, that the wing special had increased in price. absolutely no problem. i've always thought that they were more than generous offering a $6 6 wing and fries special. no one else does that or comes close. and at $8 now, it's still a killer deal. no, the problem now is that you can no longer order wings well done. what kind of stupid shit is that? the kitchen staff has it so bad they can't leave your wings in the fryer an extra 35 seconds? seriously? it's a dumb thing to be upset about but it's just one more thing. a few years ago, they got rid of a number of their wing sauces. i happened to have loved the Thai Peanut sauce and it was nixed. i was told it'd probably be brought back at some point as a special so i found other sauces i liked and waited. it's never been back. in fact, they went from creating a monthly sauce special to, what i guess is, "whenever the latest batch of crap runs out special". the last 2 months has been Frank's DEVIL HOT Sauce. if you're reading that thinking hot, hot sauce, you'd be correct. buffalo sauce is already supposed to be made w/ Frank's hot sauce so it's hot sauce but hotter and there are already 8 or 9 "hot" sauces to choose from - all of which taste better than another variation of Frank's hot sauce. the reason i was told this change was made to the special was that it's just "crazy" here on Thursdays and Sundays. well isn't that the f'ing point of running a special??? daily specials are there to bring more people into your establishment not so that you can punish your patrons for having the gall to take you up on your offerings. are diners no longer going to be able to request a well done hamburger on Wednesday nights because the kitchen staff thinks waiting for your burger to cook to your desired wellness just takes too long and they'd rather be sitting at the bar enjoying a beer? i order my wings well done because i've had them before come out w/ flaccid latex-like skins and that grosses me the f*ck out. also, whether pre-baked or not, biting into a wing with limp skin and pink in the middle always makes me feel like i'm going to get food poisoning. i never have - let's be clear. but still, it's unsettling. i wish Pounders well, but i think i'm done w/ them for a while. this kind of nonsense is just irritating and as a consumer you're only recourse is to refrain from spending your money at places that take your choices from you. my dog will surely miss the french fries and neither my wife nor I will enjoy spending considerably more to dine elsewhere but that's life. the sad part is i won't be the only one to stop going there. some or most will just stop due to the price increase (and that wouldn't have stopped me at all). others might stop for the same reasons i'll stop but no one will say anything. right or wrong, i'll have my say. read more

We have been going to Pounders for quite some time. They have good wings and burgers but we have pretty much reached our end due to the poor service. The male bartender makes an effort but the the females, one in particular will leave you on an island if you are not a regular or sitting at the bar, and even then she'll neglect you. This has happened on multiple occasions with multiple people we know, I'm just one to write the review. The last time we were there, the bar had no seats so we sat at a table outside the bar. My favorite bar in all of Parma Heights. Really nothing special, your regular local bar. But the waitress/bartender lady there is super super friendly. She always remembers faces very well so if you ever go there more than twice, she will probably remember your order. If it's your birthday, they have a spin the wheel, which is super fun and whatever you when you get, their food is not gonna lie pretty tasty and pretty cheap. I cannot say enough about how much my husband and I enjoyed this place. We came yesterday for the 1st time, I honestly didn't even know it existed. I ordered 10 wings with the garlic parm sauce, they were some of the BEST wings I have had in a long time! My husband ordered the Magnificent Pagan Burger with fries. His burger was cooked perfectly the fries were crispy and fluffy all at the same time. The drinks were strong and cheap. I had 3 drinks, my husband had 3 beers and we each did a shot, plus our food. Was recommended to try this place for some wings and it was pretty good! They have probably the best deal in town 1 lb of wings (about 6) and a small amount of fries for $6 on Thursdays. Get there early because it was PACKED I think we got the last table in the whole place. Them being busy did affect our service slightly but they were nice. The wings were really good I just wish mine had more sauce. My boyfriends were loaded with sauce which he would prefer them more like mine were of course lol. I barely had any and it was a shame because the flavor I got was awesome. Scary Terry (spicy teriyaki). I would have asked for an extra side but they were so busy I didn't get a chance or my wings would have been cold. The pretzel bites were soft and the queso was really good. This place is a little bar in a strip and is wonderful! It was so good we went back the next weekend. The handmade Pattie's are made in house and for 10.00 the burger is amazing! i cant say enough about this place and how much I love it. The bartenders are great and usually are waiting, serving and cooking for the entire bar at times. The wings are great and I have included a few pics of the HUGE variety of wing flavors. Thai Peanut, Horseradish Ranch, Jalapeno Parmesian and Mighty Maple are some of the best. Mondays is mug night where you bring in ANY size mug and they fill it for $1.75. Sure, the sign says 30 oz max mug but these bartenders are great and will fill it to the rim. $1.00 Taco Tuesdays. $3.99 steak dinner Saturdays. All good and even better service. A ton of TVs around the bar so there is never a bad seat. There is also nothing better than having a stomach full of wings and beer after during a Browns game and getting your bill and and its well under $20. The prices are incredibly low. I'm giving Pounders 3 stars, mostly because of the service. When my friend and I came here, we awkwardly stood by the entrance unsure if a worker would come up to us. We saw some menus sitting on a nearby table so we looked over them. After a few minutes, we decided to just sit at a table. We continued to look over the menus and realized there was just one worker at the bar. After a while, she got over to us and took our orders. The menu had some good variety and everything was priced pretty low. They have great wing flavor options!! I got wings with honey bbq sauce and a side of fries. The fries were so great! Halfway through eating my friend finished her water, the worker took her drink, but never brought anything back. We had to wait a while until they came and asked if we were ready for our checks.
