What a find! If we hadn't checked on Yelp, we would never have found it. The bbq pork sandwich was super yummy. Add your choice of sauces. The bun was so soft and delicious. One problem- when adding too much sauce, the sandwich crumbles because the bun is so soft and scrumptious! My husband had the 4 rib combo with baked beans and slaw. We were driving to our Airbnb and passed this place on the way! We went and freshened up and came right back! I ordered the burnt ends and fries and the owner threw in some ribs for free! He said "you can't come here and not have the ribs" and boy was he right. The whole staff is so so kind and this place embodies southern hospitality and southern barbecue. Loved the ribs-super tender-they chop all of their meats which was a little different but good. Burnt ends were different than I've ever had-sweet, ok to try something different. We are from Ohio and come to Tennessee once a year. We research and research the best places to eat and this came up as a hole in the wall bbq so we thought we'd give it a try. My Husband smokes meats all the time and it's absolutely delicious so it's hard to please me at bbq restaurants HOWEVER, this is quite possibly the absolute worst food I've ever eaten. This was the BEST BBQ I've ever had!! Everything we ate was homemade, fresh and delicious. We ordered a little bit of everything! The 3 meats and 2 sides entree is your best bang for your buck which is certainly shareable. We ordered the chopped brisket, pulled pork and burnt ends. These are the best burnt ends because they were lean and soaked in an amazing sweet sauce. The sides were all out of this world! The Brunswick stew has enough in it to be a meal on its own and the flavor was perfect. The Cole slaw is finely chopped and refreshing. The Mac n cheese and green beans were very standard and just as yummy as we'd hoped for. They have multiple kinds of BBQ sauces at every table. We really liked the sweet BBQ sauce! We also enjoyed the homemade Banana pudding. It had the perfect consistency. The woman at the front counter taking our order was super sweet and really sold us on the burnt ends with a little sample. 5 stars is not serving them justice. While staying in Pigeon Forge we were in the mood for good ole barbecue. Yelp provided us with this hidden jewel. It's about a fifteen minute drive away on small 2 lane roads, no parkway. You wind up at a place with several small structures. At the window you're greeted by the friendliest woman with a heavy southern accent. She'll inform that all the meat is pulled, with the exception of the Burnt Ends and the Ribs. But both are so tender and moist and pull off the bone with little effort. The two of us ordered the Sampler to share which is its intention. It comes with a 4 bone rib, Burnt Ends, Brisket, Smoked Sausage, pulled pork, pulled chicken, 2 large sides and 2 drinks for 48 dollars. The meats come without sauce. They provide Traditional, y and Hot for the customers to do as they wish. We couldn't finish it all as much as we wanted to. The Preacher talked with us when he had a minute and asked how the meal was and how we heard about the place. He said business was about to pick up. When we pulled in there were no other cars. While we were there, numerous cars were in and out. The service was quick, the hosts were the most pleasant people we've had the pleasure to meet in a long time. I saw the reviews for Preacher's Smokehouse and thought it would be perfect for a Smokey Mountain lunch. We pulled in and saw a small shack and a full parking lot. My husband, knowing that I'm a snob on many levels, kindly asked if I was sure that I wanted to eat at Preacher's. I told him that the reviews were great and I was on vacation so it was time for me to branch out. Fantastic real quality BBQ. We loved everything we had. The Ribs fell right off the bone. The Burnt Ends were crisped on the outside, sweet, and melted in your mouth. We haven't seen the Brunswick Stew elsewhere before, but the combination of meat and beans was great. We also had the Banana Pudding and Skillet Bun for dessert. The banana pudding was very pudding heavy, which I loved. The Skillet Bun tasted the way every honey bun should taste, warm and sweet, and fresh off the stove. All of the staff were friendly, and truly provides service with a smile. Well, Yelpers, it has been a manic year, to say the least, and due to this, I have been unusually quiet on Yelp! However, whilst stuffed to the gills and still drooling from the flavor, I have found reason to get back on board... Preacher's Smokehouse. Hubby has been following Preacher's for years on social media (altho never mentioned it to me) and today he finally decided was the day to try it and try we did. I had the pork sandwich with a side of tater salad, he had the 3 meats PLUS ribs and 2 sides because he couldn't make up his mind. His choice was the ribs, burnt ends, smoked sausage, and pulled pork, also with tater salad (is there such a thing as BBQ without??) and Baked Beans. As a 'side' note, the sides are huge and easily shareable for two. I have to say that the pork with the seasonings alone before the sauce is added was simply lip-smackin scrumptious. Hubs still can't decide which he liked best on his plate, I can tell you he finished the lot! It truly was good, stuffed as we are, we still added the banana puddin' - to go!
