hi guys my first time coming, here's my experience - best hush puppies I have ever been graced with - serve drinks in big jars, but too much ice - gave us hush puppies, beans, pickles and coleslaw as an appetizer we didn't order--not sure if it was free or not but still yum - atmosphere is cute decor, but barely audible but good music. It's too quiet - there is a sign in the dining room that says where the toilets are, very amazing I am overjoyed - ordered food around 12:20, was served by 12:31 - fries are golden and crisp, but bland. Not much flavor, no seasoning - server was Mo, he is very nice, kinda cute. My sister asked if he was British (he was not) and idk if that was offensive so very sorry mo, you can have her firstborn child as a peace offering - grilled cheese is very nice, would be better with American cheese rather than cheddar. But that's just my preference. - I kinda changed my mind, the fries are pretty good - the water is flavorless, which was very disappointing. This food was so good... good good. lol. Everything was fried perfectly. They do have all you can eat, but we did carryout The sides were crazy big portions and every single one was flavorful. Nothing was bland. I ate a good amount of mine. The fried shrimp, fish, and chicken were seasoned just right and fried golden brown and crispy. Not greasy, not soggy just done the right way. Huck Finn's Catfish was a delightful local find in Pigeon Forge--exactly the kind of non-chain Southern seafood spot we love discovering. We stumbled in after a quick stop at the post office and were pleasantly surprised. Jerry, our server, immediately set the tone with genuine Southern hospitality. The space is unassuming, rustic, and packed with quirky knickknacks and funny sayings everywhere--even in the restrooms, very Southern, very charming. We started with the fried green tomatoes--simple, hot, freshly cooked, and satisfying, not fancy, but done right. Lunch special there was a steal: without even asking, we were served a big bowl of beans, hush puppies, coleslaw, plus sliced onions and dill pickles. Consider us impressed. The coleslaw was a standout, the hush puppies were light and not greasy, and even the water (served in giant mason jars with lemon) stayed on theme. I had the grilled chicken with green beans; my cousin ordered the grilled catfish with fries. Everything was fresh, well-seasoned, and clearly made to order. I came for the catfish and was disappointed for sure. Small filets hidden in a dull batter that was tough. Even when hot it lacked the crunch. The fixings were ok, nice cole slaw and I liked the white beans. My son got gator bites and clam strips with frog legs and fries. He ate the frog and left the rest. Just not right. Wife sent back the over cooked grilled shrimp and undercooked grilled catfish. Pork chops that replaced it was very good. 3 meals, 3 teas, tax and tip was $110. I would have done better at Texas Road House for catfish, just saying... Disappointed in the tourist trap. We know good food. This ain't it folks. read more

AYCE catfish or chicken !! Located near the Smokey Mountains and easy access from Gatlinburg. Came up on this spot and was attracted by the all you can eat catfish. There was plenty of seating inside and the service was great. They constantly checked in on us to see if we wanted anotehr round of catfish. The lower rating is because the food itself wasn't anything special. The sides including green beans were good but the fried catfish wasn't seasoned (maybe basic seasoning - salt and pepper). I brought and used my own hot sauce. The sweet tea is excellent. read more

Went there this past September 2025 for dinner. Part of the visit was for nostalgia as this was the place we usually took our kids when we took them to the Smoky Mountains year after year. That was a good 25-30 years ago. It looked the same then as it does now. Food is good especially the catfish. They give out "fixins" complementary. Service was attentive. Atmosphere is mildly noisy with an open air dining room and plenty of families gathering. They have a touristy general store area as you pay your bill and head out. read more

Came here for the fried catfish and fried chicken livers; two of the most popular items on the menu. The catfish was good, though it could've used a bit more seasoning (we didn't realize there were seasoning options!). The chicken livers, on the other hand, were good too. Half a pound was plenty. Each meal also comes with "vittles," a nice assortment of sides that includes baked beans, coleslaw, hush puppies, and pickles/onions as a palate cleanser. The beans, coleslaw, and hush puppies they bring to the table are bottomless. You can opt for a bottomless side option for your dinner with a side chosen from the menu, but I don't remember the price. I ordered the grilled shrimp + fried catfish dinner. My catfish fillets were significantly smaller than Husband's, but whatever. They tasted delicious. He got the catfish + chicken dinner option, and he said the chicken was pretty greasy (not drained well) but overall, it was outstanding. Our server was excellent and very sweet. It was her fourth day on the job, but she handled everything gracefully, even the nasty customers sitting behind us. The noise level was about what we expected, but it wasn't overwhelming. Just a typical noise level for a rather large dining area. I've thought about those white beans, corn nuggets, hush puppies, and catfish several times since leaving, so believe me when I say we most definitely will be back for another meal or two here. read more

If you want catfish and/or fried chicken, this is the spot for you. Great atmosphere and friendly staff cater to your every need. Once seated, they bring hush puppies, slaw, and white beans. Then you get to order your meal. They offer AYCE dinners, or specific 3 or 4 piece dinners (or combo fish/chicken dinners). Everything came out timely and hot/fresh. Since the sides are endless, the 3 piece catfish dinner was more than enough for me. They had some good looking banana pudding and heath bar cake, but I was so stuffed I'll have to wait until next time to try dessert. We will definitely go back!!! read more

My wife and I come to Pigeon Forge twice a year on business. The only place that we come to every trip is Huck Finns Catfish. We love this place. I always get the catfish and gator bites, and my wife always gets the clam strips. There was one time we came and they were out of gator so I got the frog legs. Everything is always cooked perfectly and never disappoints. The vittles they start you out with are always wonderful too. The servers are always great and always checking on you to make sure everything is good. The restaurant itself has a really cool vibe. It looks like you walked into a restaurant right off the pier. It's laid out family style with seating for all different group sizes. If you're in the area and like southern fried foods, give Huck Finns a try. They have a lot more than just the catfish, gator, and clam strips that we always have. We see other people's food passing by and it all looks wonderful. read more

Lots of parking, no wait, so many tables! When you're seated, Southern hospitality is their strong suit. Staff is super friendly and helpful. You are started with complimentary "vittles": Baked White Beans & Turkey Ham, Dill Pickles & Sweet Onion Slices, Cole Slaw,Hushpuppies. We heard they do all you can eat catfish, but we were there for a light lunch, so we tried the broiled and fried catfish (both were so delicious). I tried the fried catfish sandwich, if you want something light, but filling, this was a good option! There is always a waitlist. We couldn't in the first time and had to make a reservation for the next day. We even met some regulars who drove from another town just to dine here--testament to the restaurant's exceptional quality. The service was warm and inviting. We were greeted with variety of side dishes. The hush puppies were soooo fresh, crusty on the outside and soft on the inside. We also really enjoyed the pickles and beans. Coleslaw had a hint of sweetness which balanced out the other salty dishes. I ordered grilled catfish and I really liked the light citrusy seasoning. The fillet was soft and easily breakable. With every order the table receives vittles - which is unlimited hush puppies, beans, and pickles. However if you want to split a dinner with someone you automatically have to add $9.50 because of the vittles so I'm not crazy about that. The catfish and chicken are good, but not the best I've ever had. I would not really recommend the boom boom shrimp - instead of lightly tossing the shrimp in the sauce they just pour a bunch of sauce over the top. It may be one of the better choices to eat in pigeon forge, but nothing I would rave about. read more

We went here with a large group (about 40). We were seated fairly quickly. Our waitress was very friendly. The restaurant was clean and organized. My wife and I both got the Boom Boom Shrimp. It had Popcorn Shrimp Drizzled in a Spicy & Tangy Boom Boom Sauce. In my opinion the sauce had good flavor but the shrimp seemed undercooked. They were fried but maybe not fried enough (to my liking). The "vittles " that came with the table were really good. Really enjoy coming to Hick Finn's. Food is always hot and a lot of it. I had the Mark Twain combo, 2 pieces of boneless catfish and 2 pieces of fried chicken. Of course it comes with the "vittles" White Navy beans, slaw and hush puppies. It was delicious as usual! The service was just as good, Kadie was my waitress, she was very prompt filling my tea glass and getting me refills of the beans and hush puppies. Give her an A+ for her job this evening. I can't tell you how many times I've been here and wanted to try Hick Finn's well we tried it and it was a bust idk what recipe they got for frying fish but this stuff is horrible!!!! Listen to me I've had catfish from a lot of places and none of them dropped the ball like Huck Finn's. When I say don't waste one penny going here save your money another one of the Gatlingburg pigeon forge overhyped restaurants. The people aren't that nice the establishment well it's okay wasn't dirty or anything but most importantly non of that matters we want good fish and this ain't it sorry never eating here again quick service but not that friendly. The service here was great, the food was good too. My daughter and I stopped in on our way to our Air BnB in gatlinburg. We were hungry from our 14 hr trip from CT and we were searching for a place for some fried catfish. The catfish didn't disappoint. We got the ultimate platter with fried gator, frog legs and catfish. Also the kids meal that came with 2 legs of fried chicken. They serve generous portions of everything and we even had enough to take with us and have a hearty lunch for the next day. The tarter the meal came with was so tasty and probably homemade. Back in PF again and back at Huck Finn's again. No surprise. This place has the best catfish in Tennessee, hands down. Always cooked to order, always fast no matter how busy. We love this place! I ordered the 2-piece fried catfish fillet, and my friend ordered the same but grilled with Tennessee Grillin seasoning.
