Recommended by a friend, Mezeh is a chain with many locations. This particular location is popular with UNCC students due to proximity. The concept is pretty simple: You are going to end up with a bowl of Mediterranean food, and you get to choose what goes in it. Bases of salad or rice, a variety of meats, add some vegetables, sprinkle in some cheese, sauce, or hummus, and in a short run of rapid decision making you've got a huge bowl of food! Considering the serving size, the pricing isn't unreasonable, but it is still on the expensive end for a meal, especially if you add a drink. And as servings go, I will probably go with a junior bowl next time because the regular bowl is a bit too large. Service was typical of an entry level restaurant chain, with no smiles or small talk, but efficient. I personally prefer my Mediterranean food from locally owned restaurants where you get more personality and connections to the authentic meal.

Parking lot can get full with other establishments and when events are happening at the lake. Visit was noon on a Saturday, no one was in the restaurant so it was very quiet. I was acknowledged immediately and my order started. Ordered a make your own bowl, but unfortunately there was no white rice was ready for service. Ingredients were fresh and labeled so you can order correctly. Don't forget your pita bread with order. No mention of joining the loyalty program in store from associates.

I had never been to a Mezeh before. I don't know if there are any near where I live. 2 friends recommended it to me (including the one I was there with). The portions are great and the chicken shwarma tasted very good. We ordered bowls - pick your base and protein and toppings and sauces. (I went with a super greens base and most of the toppings!) Tastes great and great portion for the price. I highly recommend.

I highly recommend this location! The service was prompt and attentive. The food is well organized and the restaurant was very clean during the busy lunchtime hour. My food was fresh and delicious and I look forward to returning. I went with the build my own bowl option and there were many options to choose from but I was able to select my favorites. I hope you enjoy as much as I did!

I stay around this area when traveling and have always gone to Cava, but wanted to try mezeh though it seems very similar. Monday during lunchtime it was quite packed, which I took it as a good sign! However, I found out that Cava across the way was closed so that brought in even more customers and felt bad to the 4 workers hustling to get all the orders. I got a bowl with arugula and white rice, and they were out of chicken shawarma so I waited on that. I really liked some of the different toppings they had especially the crispy garbanzo beans. Everything tasted fresh and very flavorful. However since they were very busy, little things like their juice machine was out of juice and not refilled. But I will definitely come back here again as it was a tasty, healthy, and affordable meal!

The Mezah classic is a good choice for a first timer. There are a lot of interesting flavors that go well together. To much food for lunch so you get good value for your dollar. It is a lounge of pure made food like a Chipotle or Cava, everything I had was fresh though. The girl behind the counter did not smile, was not friendly and did not speak loud enough to be heard. When I asked for a drink she just threw the cup on the tray. Auto minus one star. They do not have normal fountain drinks, everything was unique beverages. Try a few different ones, they are good. You walk through the line and they make your food in front of you. You clear your own table. When you pay it asks you to leave a tip. I will not tip just because someone made the food I ordered. This is a way restaurant owners incentive their staff to pay them less. Another minus 1 star. The food is good but the service is not.

Mezeh has the best bowl in Charlotte. It's better than Cava, better than chipotle. Friendly staff and the price is very reasonable.

so after visiting with the crew last week I came back in today because, well, you know... it was good and likely way better for me than the other lunchables up for consideration. still not entirely sure what I'm eating here so I went with a suggested house bowl of winter shawarma to simplify my life and because the flavor profile looked totally 'yes please' even without the arugulas... bulgur pilaf is a fun little item because in addition to the basic bulgurity there's raisin bits!! not quite two scoops but enough to add some bright to the base; so very thoughtful. add chicken shawarma and lentils; spicy feta dip, roasted corn salsa and caramelized eggplant; cherry tomatoes, pickled onion and a pinch of red cabbage (because I like red cabbages) plus a dose of cilantro vinaigrette on the side for safe transport... and add a cucumber soda traveller. got it home, got it open, got about half way through and called it on account of fullness. I could probably have managed the whole thing but this is dinner, not a contest. and then I remembered I had a pita and baklava around somewhere so yeah, tomorrow is so gonna be lunch. in closing: not sure if it was the best baklava ever but it was flaky and sweet and moist and nutty... so I'm good here.

I love how Mezeh has a wide variety of tasty vegeterian options. I can enjoy a vegetarian meal with flavor when I come to Mezeh. They also offer meat options like chaicken and lamb. They have in house juices and fountain drinks. My first time was at a yelp event and the staff were friendly and patient as I placed my order. The restaurant is located in the shopping center in university by the boardwalk. There is a parking lot for all the restaurants in the vicinity. This is one of my new favorite spots to eat at!

First time here and truly didn't know what to expect. Wasn't sure what kind of food was served. But they have a vibrant menu and great options to choice from. I choose the muscle bowl and man was it so good. Don't think I came up for air while eating haha. Love the decor around the establishment and definitely consider you trying them out!

Chicken shawarma bowl with mango punch and a chocolate chip cookie

Came here for the grand opening and it was amazing! Waited in line for about 45 minutes but it went by quickly. The service was excellent. All of the staff was very efficient and friendly. The place is really nice inside as well. I ordered the chicken shawarma bowl with white rice, lots of toppings and I got tzatziki on the side. It came with a pita as well! I got the mango punch as my drink and also got the chocolate chip cookie at checkout because it looked sooo good! The bowl was super flavorful. I enjoyed every single bite! The chicken was nice and spicy. I really loved the spicy feta as well. The mango punch was pretty good. And the chocolate chip cookie was very good too! It was soft and had lots of chocolate chunks.

Attended their grand opening today, with free bowl offer, and I'm not just saying this because it was free, but the food was absolutely delicious! Fresh and flavorful ingredients. So many different combos to make for every tastebud. And I love their drink options, I didn't ask but I assume they might be made in house. They were quite refreshing, I tried the mango and the berry watermelon. Both were so good, but I think that mango might be my fave. So glad this place is near my job, so I'm sure I will be visiting regularly. Also the staff was amazing. They were jammed packed in there with customers wall to wall, but they all kept their smiles and patience and I love to see it. Kudos guys! I wish this business much success, but if everyday can be like their first day, it definitely will be. You can tell they planned out this grand opening well, planned for the masses and executed it extremely well. I liked the decor too, the light fixtures in the middle were absolutely beautiful to me.

AVOID THIS LOCATION!…read more My family that resides in Clt started coming to this location because of the proximity to their house, but after this past visit on June 20th, none of us will ever be back again after the absolute awful service! And, as anyone knows, you can have amazing food, but if the people and service are terrible that can ruin any dining experience! We were sat in an almost empty restaurant just after 8pm; the waiter came to take our order and was very engaging initially. We were a party of 6, so we were going to order 4 diff apps prior to the mixed grill which is what we always get. We ordered the hummus, falafel (2 orders because only 6 come per order), baba ganoush, and beef sambousa. We were told they were "out" of the baba ganoush & sambousas cuz they would have to make them and it would take like an hr...this sounded odd cuz umm, don't you make all your food to order?? This immediately put both my stepmom (who is Moroccan) and myself off and we were actually going to leave, but we were introducing my brother's GF to this ethnic food style & him + my dad convinced us to stay, so we just added salad and lentil bean soups). We ordered drinks (the GF & I were the only ones that didn't order sodas; she ordered a pot of Karak tea for her + I to share & I ordered a sparkling water). After 10mins no drinks in sight we were like "ummm?" then at just over 15mins they brought us the apps but no drinks?!? The drinks came separately a few mins later...all except the tea. For $3 on the menu I expected a bottled sparkling water, instead I got flat water from the soda fountain. I told the waiter this and he said he'd try again and if it wasn't "sparkling" then what did I want to drink instead...I said just a filtered water w/lemon. We were missing an order of falafel (were told they only had the one order and would have to wait for the 2nd, so we just canceled it; again whyTF did they not have anything on the menu at 8pm on a Sat!?) and they only brought one basket of pita for the hummus; we asked for a 2nd basket. The lentil soup (my stepmom makes better at home) + salads were mid at best. 20mins later they bring the main course, but we still had not gotten the pot of tea we ordered nor did the guy ever come back w/my "sparkling" or plain water...we'd had enough of this horrible service & I went in search of someone (the place again was empty & I could not find our waiter or anyone anywhere). Finally I see this lady who had attitude (I have a sneaking suspicion she pretended not to understand english when convenient) when I asked WTAF was up w/my water & the tea! Again, another 10mins w/neither showing up at the table...we were also still waiting for the 2nd basket of pita, but it was moot as we'd already begun to eat the main dish...my stepmom went to the lady & spoke to her in arabic and was like "where is her water and where is her tea!?" the lady said she was sorry she didn't know we didn't get them (BS btw) that's when my stepmom asked to speak to the mgr. We also wanted to order Knfa for dessert, so my stepmom told the lady we were ordering 3 now since they were taking forever to get anything to us, and if they didn't bring them when we were done eating, we would not be paying for them. THAT part seemed to get through at least! Halfway (almost an hr at this point) through the meal they finally come w/my water and the pot of Karak tea. At this point we hadn't seen the male waiter who took our order initially; he shows up & is acting huffy (the audacity tbh!) & tries telling me he never said he'd bring a 2nd sparkling or reg water & when both me and my stepmom (cuz she was sitting next to me & heard the exchange called him out) he got all defensive & said "well I guess I misunderstood" so then we are like "why an hr for the tea?" "Wellll, that's how long it takes to make!" I called BS & told him if that was the case he should have told us that expectation when we initially ordered! He then goes "Well I had to go to storage to find it cuz we were out!" K, howTF is that OUR problem!? Just tell us that so we know what to expect!? No apology was made and we were not credited for the tea nor the $3 sparkling water which I never received. Also, received the Knfa (shockingly, right after the meal) but it was served w/o the pistachios it was supposed to come with. When asked for them, we were told they were "out"...because of course they were! Absolutely HORRIBLE staff and service here; the food was good tho, but when u have an experience like that it still leaves a bad taste!

I ordered the half chicken with yellow rice and while the flavor was unique and the rice was wonderful, the chicken was admittedly dry, which was a let down. The lentil soup on the side was creamy and had great flavor. On the flip side, my dad ordered the Greek salad with chicken kebab on top and that chicken was phenomenal with a great char and was super moist- I'll be sure to order this if I want chicken from here again. The salad was a very generous portion and came with loads of chicken, pickles, tomato, feta, olives, and the dressing was simple but paired perfectly- it was basically lemon juice and herbs. I also ordered the coconut-like cake (?) that they had on a side counter by the register where you can take as many slices as you want but I just took a pre portioned serving of 4 pieces. It was a mildly crumbly cake but it was incredibly moist with what I presume is a sweet syrup and coconut flakes on top. It was a great way to finish the meal.
