We have bought our tree here the past 3 years. I highly recommend going for a balsam tree. As other reviewers mentioned prices are reasonable (this yr we paid $50 for a 7' tree) and the service is fantastic. Our toddler was thrilled they gave her a Christmas coloring book this year. Picked up my tree here last year. By the time it was in the stand, strung with lights, and decorated, half the needles were on the floor. By Christmas, it was like kiln dried kindling. Went back on Sunday, hoping my experience was a one off, but knowing what to look for this time, I just found a lot of brown needles and dry branches. If you do stop here, be sure to check out your tree from underneath and test the needles. I had a lot better luck with the tree lot in Watertown across from the IHOP. Since I don't have time to venture outside of the city this year to find a tree at a local farm, I decided to give Boston Christmas Trees a shot. The guys here were helpful about finding a less than 6 foot tree for my small apartment and even offered to tie it up on my car (ended up stuffing it in though since that's easier for me)! Cost is based on height and type of tree (Douglas firs being more expensive); I ended up spending about $35 on a good-looking balsam spruce which isn't too shabby. There is free parking at a small lot across the street or if that's full, street parking wasn't too hard to find. Wreaths and other small Christmas-y decor were also available for purchase. Bought our first christmas tree as a family here! we had a swift and good deal. We knew the size of tree we wanted so went in purposefully. the guys suggested one, but we eyed another fluffier one at the corner, so we pointed it out, and he was really nice about it, and affirmed our choice. tied it up real quick. and we were good to go! we lugged it back home on foot. in and out in less than 5 minutes. back home in 15 minutes. loved it! highly recommended! read more

The guy didn't bat an eye when i pointed to my car. Hoisted the tree up, set it down, and found good places to tie it through. As if putting a 7' xmas tree on top of a smart car was the most normal thing in the world. Made it back to Kenmore with no problems other than a bit of sap on the plexiglas roof. The reviews here did not lead me wrong. Went the day after Thanksgiving and the service was outstanding. We live in a Brookline apartment so the size options and advice was perfect for our needs. They even had all the supplies we needed in one stop. The value here was excellent. Paid much less than I thought for the quality of the tree. Wonderful Frasier fur. Hard to imagine the process being any easier or more relaxing. No high pressure, just advice and kindness. In Boston that is saying alot! read more

I tried this place out because of the stellar reviews on Yelp. Nice selection, trees that still had Canadian ice melting off of them, friendly staff. I'm taking two stars off because they wanted $50 for a tree barely 6 feet tall--balsam pine or not that's pretty steep. For that price I want the tree bundled, not just tied to my car with the branches loose. The fact that it wasn't bundled made it hard to navigate through my apartment building's many doorways. Also, it's a cash only business--not a problem for me but good to know before you go. I got a nice tree but I paid more than I thought I would after reading these reviews. Not sure if I'll be back next year or not. read more

This place is awesome!! My husband and I have been coming to this tree lot for the past few years. We came the Sunday after Thanksgiving, and although the lot was packed, the service was still speedy and friendly. It is surprising how big the selection of trees it has for a city lot, but we had trouble deciding on which tree we wanted! The guy helping us cheerfully hauled our 7 + foot tree across the busy street, down to our car and up on the roof. He even tied it down and didn't need us to help him. Talk about easy! Love the parking across the street & how easy it was to get to the lot. They showed us multiple tree options, gave us lots of information and made sure we were getting the exact tree we wanted. A mere 25 dollars for a five foot tree and it didn't look bad. I will not be returning here though as the service was awful. They didn't wrap up the tree and just shoved it into the trunk of our car, and we couldn't get it out of the car without the tree losing a quarter of its pine needles and branches. We also bought a tree stand at the same time and the guy told us it would fit, but the tree stump was way too large for the stand. Luckily my boyfriend for some reason has a hand saw and we literally had to saw the tree down in our living room to have the tree fit onto the stand. Needless to say, sawdust was everywhere. The tree did look nice in the end, but way too much hassle. read more

The trees are great quality and there are trees from 3 ft to 15 ft. I was told the most expensive tree only goes for around 90 bucks and I bought one for only 10 this year. I have been coming to this place for years because of the service. One year I bought a tree that died and they took it back and gave me another with no questions asked. This is a real mom and pop shop that is hard to find now a days and the service is impeccable. By far the cheapest trees in the area and the service will have you coming back for years. read more

This place was so great! Our tree is beautiful, healthy and reasonably priced! (4 ft tall, $25) My fiance and I are new to the area, and we live and die by yelp. I found this place with a 5 star review, and clicked the link to their website. It is adorable and very informative. (On a mildly unrelated note, they had me at their then and now photos.) I was there last evening and purchased a beautiful 9 foot douglas fir tree at a reasonable price. I have actually paid a lot more elsewhere. A lot of their trees were displayed which made it easier to make a selection. The guy who helped us (not Tyler) was very helpful, while not being pushy. He was polite, made suggestions for our needs, willing to trim the bottom just the way we wanted it, tied the tree on the roof of the car and then went back and tied it again to be sure it would not blow off. I will definitely go back next year. Finding the place, my navigator was telling me the place was across the street from where it is really located. read more
