I didn't look at any rings or much else but it seems like the pricing is about 150-300% above other places for comparable items. They offer the item for less than the sticker price so you end up paying 75-150% more than elsewhere. Their selection is nice so if you intend to shop here, come in with an idea of how much something should cost. Of course, some jewellery is subjective but for simple items, there's only so much room for profit before it feels dishonest. Selling things is also not ideal. I won't elaborate here but suffice it to say, it is never a good sign when a jeweller weighs your pieces in a back room. Standard practice is to weigh in front of the customer. Not here. Also, be prepared to have the authenticity of your gold challenged. Using a chemical to convince you that your gold is actually not 14k or 18k so that they can make a lower offer was disappointing at best. A small example: I was offered nearly twice as much for a gold piece at another store. Lastly, do not bring any silver coins here unless you just want to sell for metal. The owner tried to convince me that some near proof Morgan dollars were only worth $18 each. Fortunately I didn't sell them and went to a coin shop. I was subsequently offered nearly $700 for three coins. I try to give people the benefit of the doubt. The people at Marquis seem friendly and they have a nice selection. Just don't expect very competitive pricing and be wary of selling precious metals. Also I would recommend selling coins elsewhere preferably to a coin dealer if you want to get a more realistic estimate. Overall, like I mentioned, there is a lot to see at Marquis but I have trouble recommending Marquis unless you are happy with their options and pricing. The friendly staff can't compensate for questionable business practices. I'd be wary of selling anything of real value.

We have the ticket that says $500. It is the jeweler's responsibility to quote correctly and communicate to the customer if there is a problem. If he makes a mistake the customer should not have to pay for it. AVOID THIS PLACE - IT IS FALLING APART. DO NOT TRUST HIM!
