Same for the second watch, but that one also required fabrication of replacement parts. Both watches are back in action and look and work great. They were returned to me in a week. Typically don't write reviews but this may have been the worst customer service experience I have ever had. Brought my watch in for a service and a new strap. A few weeks after picking it up, I noticed that my 24-hr clock was fully off kilter. When I contacted Village, they were adamant that there was no problem with the watch and didn't offer any help. It wasn't till I took my watch to a more professional jeweler that I was told my watch could not be fixed and would have to be sent to the manufacturer (Tissot) to get fixed. To make matters worse, the strap provided lasted less than a year before tearing. Additionally, the owner was not pleasant to work with, and it is an all cash business which eliminates the chance for any long-term recourse. Not sure how they are dealing rings, necklaces, etc., but it was clear that they have unprofessional experience handling watches. read more

We were extremely happy with the level of service we received at Village Watch Center. Responses to our initial inquiry on an older Seiko watch that's very sentimental were immediately responded to and we had a clear idea of whether or not Village Watch could repair it (spoilers - they could!). We dropped the watch off on a Saturday and then got a 2 week estimate but it was actually done a week early. Everyone involved was very nice, and the price to fix it was more than reasonable. It's hard to find parts and find anyone frankly that is even interested in fixing a watch from the 90s but you could tell they really cared and wanted to get it running again. We'll recommend Village Watch to friends who need any type of jewelry repair and certainly return if we have another item that needs some love! read more

Unfortunately after posting this review I noticed the face and hands of the watch were not like the original. You can see this in the original images. While back then the owner promised to address. I still have a watch I can't wear as it's not true to original. As the owner tried to disparage my name and review I have added photos of the conversation back in 2020 where I flagged the errors in the repair and his willingness to fix. My mother then passed away that same week and this watch was the least of my concerns. Now when I reached out to see if he was still willing to address I received no response and thus felt the need to update the review to my true and complete experience. I brought 3 watches 2 vintage and 1 old dress watch for cleaning and bracelet replacement. While the 2 were vintage I would not call them valuable to anyone but me. I received them from parent or grandparent and want pass them on to my kids. I received a text with the cost ( a little high but the watches are worth it to me) . Unfortunately I went to pick them up today they looked exactly as they did when I dropped them off. When I asked about it I was shown a video of a watch being worked on I asked about the cleaning and bracelets and was told that as they are over 50 years old the bracelets and bezels are not available. I proceeded to show them that the dirt could be scraped off with my nail and question why they couldn't swap out a bracelet they then offered to try. I was quite clear in my texts and pointed out that at least 3 times I repeated what I wanted done in our text exchange I received a shoulder shrug. I paid ( only cash accepted) and left feeling ripped off. I followed up with a text expressing my disappointment etc and was told " we CAN do that" too little too late. I was really hoping to have a better experience as I dabble in collecting watches and was hoping to find a new venue to build a relationship I guess I will just keep looking. Also just googled the watches and found ample bracelets and bezels available, feel like because I didn't have Patek Philipe it wasn't worth it for them. Edit: Avi I did speak to you and let you know I was not happy when I picked up the watches and I followed up with a text message outlining each issue. To say you warranty the work for one year what exactly are you warranting? Bracelets that were not provided and cleanings that were not done. read more

I was excited to learn that they could replace a badly scratched wristwatch crystal. It was the Saturday of Rosh Hashanah 2024, and the owner, Avi, was out of shop to observe the holiday. The personable young man minding the shop was a newer employee who told me that a battery replacement would cost $25 and the watch crystal replacement would cost $35 to $65, but likely not on the higher end since it was a "mineral crystal." He apologized that the owner was out of the shop, and assured me that no work would be completed before I received an estimate on Monday. On Tuesday, I get a text message: "Hi it's village watch the watch needed glass battery gasket 95$." I write back, "Hi, thanks for getting back to me with an estimate! Is the $95 just for the watch glass replacement? If so, I will pick up my watch later today." The response texts are: "Watch is READY. 95$ total" I'm confused and floored at the cost. I write, "I was told you would not do the work before providing the estimate." The response: "Battery 25$ glass 45$. 70$." Long story short, I have been told not to come back: "60$ is fine next time do not come to my shop thank U I only doing it because my watchmaker did the job. I'm not JEWELRY EXPRESS." This is fine with me: I do not want to give business to a shop that is so rude, barely-comprehensible, and inconsistent with client communication. I have uploaded images of our text exchange to Yelp to substantiate my review and prevent Avi from claiming I am not a real customer or other shenanigans. EDIT: as predicted, Avi came on to play the part of the victim. There are photos of our text exchange uploaded. You can decide for yourself if he is as much of a victim as he claims. The last I checked, it was neither rude or uncommon to compare pricing of services and goods between nearby competitors. Avi and his shop show their true colors when receiving negative reviews. Instead of learning and improving customer service, he continues to call people "rude," "disrespectful," and other names. We took in an heirloom watch to have it cleaned and working again. This is the rundown, the first issue was that the watch had stopped - they fixed that, then they seem to have put the hands back on so close that it scraped the logo off the watch face, and it stopped again. they tried to fix it again, and then it worked for about a month before the second hand popped off and it stopped again. It was a $160 bill. We will not be going back. I would steer clear of this business. read more

Brought my brand new Citizen watch her to have the band resized. Watch had never been worn and was in the box. They scratched the band and the back of the case. The watch was in perfect condition before I gave it to them to resize the band. When I complained, the owner and his wife denied making the scratches and had a very bad attitude. The owner finally said not to pay them the $25 for resizing the band. No offer to buff out the scratches. Fortunately, this was not an expensive watch. They only take cash which is a bad sign. Was going to have two expensive Swiss watches cleaned and maintained. No way! Stay far away from this place. read more
