When my fiancée and I walked into the massive Jeweler's Building in Downtown Crossing, the first thing we wanted to do was find a restroom to wash our sandwich-covered hands before trying on potential engagement rings. We walked right up to the second floor and started to circle around the building. Arvik noticed that we looked lost in the hallway, and offered to give us directions. When we told her about our hand predicament, she invited us into her shop to use her own personal sink, and thus began our incredible experience with Boston Diamond Studio. We had planned to shop at multiple stores that afternoon, but between the extensive and beautiful collection of rings and Arvik's personable, genuine, and helpful nature, we had no desire to look elsewhere. We met Zeki the next time we came in to explore their ring collection, and of course he was equally wonderful to work with. Zeki patiently helped my fiancée and I agonize over the custom design of two absolutely beautiful engagement rings. We had a LOT of uncertainty about arriving at the perfect designs, so the process took a quite a few iterations of design and revision. Zeki and Arvik always listened to our unique design requests, and they supplemented our ideas with their design expertise to create our ideal rings. One really nice thing about custom design is that we were able to create two unique rings that still maintain a common theme, so they look amazing individually yet even more stunning side-by-side. I think it is important to mention that Arvik and Zeki are very LGBT-friendly. We visited a few jewelry stores prior to Boston Diamond Studio, and while we were never discriminated against, we often received the "oh. You're both looking," with just a hint of awkward surprise and a look that was as if they hadn't ever seen a lesbian couple before -You could almost hear the Australian voiceover saying "lesbians in the wild... it's not often you see them looking for jewelry, but when you do, you know you have a chance to make double," happening in their heads, like we were some endangered species seen in nature for the first time in over a decade. Arvik and Zeki, however, treated us with respect and kindness, which I expect is no different than the way they treat all of their clients. And finally- financially- Arvik and Zeki asked us for our budget up front and worked within that. They truly are capable of working with a wide range of budgets and creating beautiful jewelry while respecting clients' desires to keep it affordable. The day I met Zeki and Arvik (husband and wife owners of Boston Diamond Studio) was the first time I had ever been in a jewelry store in my entire life. I had done my research online and knew the jewelers building Downtown was my best chance to learn more about the process of buying an engagement ring. I wandered in and took a pamphlet from the front table. There are about 100 different jewelers in that pamphlet and it's a bit overwhelming. After wondering around and finding nothing memorable but the loud music and the feeling like I was in over my head. I stepped out into the hallway, and looked both ways as if I was crossing the street.. I had no idea where I was and what I was doing. Then, as I was consulting my Pamphlet and plotting my next move, I heard a voice ask me if I was looking for something. I said " I'm not sure" He said "come with me... So I did. Having nothing to lose at this point and only knowledge to gain. I followed him down the hall to his showroom/shop. There I met his (Zeki's) wife Arvik. I explained to them that I was just looking to learn about the process and try to figure out what I wanted. Knowing that i wasn't going to buy anything at that moment they showed me some samples and got me educated. I felt very relaxed in their hands. They helped me realize that the next step is to figure out what I thought she might want I spent the next few weeks visiting other stores, and tirelessly searching the internet for something that jumped out at me and that would suit her. I finally realized that what I was looking for was a family heirloom that didn't exist yet. I went back to the Diamond Studio with my ideas, and Zeki assured me that he could make it whatever I wanted. From then on we were in continuous communication. I was feeding them my Ideas and they were giving me their expert opinions. They sent me a CAD drawing and built me a plastic prototype of the ring so that I could see what it would look like before he began the work, so that we could get every angle right and pick a center stone. Again, their expert opinion shined when they helped me pick a stone. Not suggesting the most expensive, but the one that would fit the ring perfectly. They were really focused on my needs rather than making the sale. This project ultimately required significant detail because he would be engraving an entire platinum ring, of which I understand is very difficult. I'll provide my more detailed experience below but I wanted to start by saying I had an amazing experience working with Zeki and Arvik. They were both very understanding of the budget I was working with and custom built a ring from scratch with incredible hand engravings for a very reasonable price! For about 1-2 months prior to finding Boston Diamond Studio, I had been searching other jewelers trying to find styles and designs she liked. One day I suggested we try the Jeweler's Building. Upon walking into the building, it was a bit intimidating with so many stores. Boston Diamond was the only business to actually come open their door and enthusiastically welcome us into their business! The first couple shops we went into, nobody seemed interested to help us or want to answer our questions. The customer service we received from Zeki and Arvik was amazing. They cater to every customer very carefully. After looking at a few rings in their display, my girlfriend and I had spotted a ring we both liked. The only comment we had was that we wanted to make some modifications to the one that was there. Zeki brought me into his office privately to discuss the price, he even offered me a bottle of water and snack (I probably looked nervous haha). I was not sure if there would be a big impact on the price in order to have the ring made from scratch with these modifications. To my pleasant surprise the ring was still in my budget and they were able to produce the ring in just a couple of weeks. I was so excited when I went to pick up the ring. The entire ring looks so beautiful. There are hand engravings along the band and a beautiful halo surrounding the center stone. It looks so amazing!!! When I proposed to my fiance two weeks ago she absolutely loved it from the moment she saw it! All of her friends are asking for the details and everyone really loves the ring, especially us. Arvik and Zeki are terrific! I wish I had found them sooner. After looking for their store on a couple of occasions I finally found their gem of a shop tucked in an alcove at the end of a small hallway on the second floor of the jewelers building. I was shopping for a new wedding ring after 30 years of marriage and recently upgrading my diamond, regrettably purchased elsewhere before I found Arvik and Zeki:-( Arvik was so helpful trying to help me find a band that complimented, rather than took away from my diamond. She and Zeki were so patient and I trusted them almost instantly. I'm kind of a skeptic but they earned my trust. They were such great listeners and very helpful. They also helped me understand what to look for to ensure I purchased a complimentary ring. We soon identified the perfect ring that was unfortunately a bit out of my current budget. I asked them to keep all the pertinent information about what ring I wanted and we agreed I would come back in a few months and make the purchase. After a couple of weeks of feeling awkward without a wedding band but not yet able to purchase that 'perfect diamond band' I called Arvik looking for a simple, plain band. She showed me some bands and ultimately sold me a modest, yet lovely, high quality, diamond band for a terrific price and the promise that they would take it back in trade when I purchase the larger "perfect diamond band". They helped me find a solution that worked for me and I am so grateful - I am so very happy with this diamond band. Zeki expertly made the band match my engagement ring band so it compliments my ring beautifully. Although the diamonds are fewer and a bit smaller than the band I will ultimately get, they are a terrific quality and sparkle like crazy--matching my engagement ring perfectly. I will definitely go back to Platinum Studio for the upgraded diamond wedding band and the next time I upgrade my diamond:-) I will be telling everyone about Arvik and Zeki and when my son gets to the point in his life where he is shopping for a ring, I will be sure to send him to see Arvik and Zeki! read more

I am proud to announce that my engagement ring search has ended and i am extremely satisfied with the end product. I loved the service, my fiancee loved the ring, and our friends loved the fact that we finally got engaged after 6 years! I visited multiple jewelry dealers in Boston and ultimately decided to go with Zeki and Arvik because of two reasons; They showed much more enthusiasm and are more transparent about their prices. Arvik was extremely attentive and made every possible effort to make sure i get the perfect ring for my fiancee. Arvik took the time to ensure i understand what is important in a quality diamond. She also showed me multiple band options and diamond options and how each will compliment one another. She was very patient when she showed me multiple diamonds in combination with different bands. I was able to visualize what the perfect engagement ring would look like; for me, it was a thin rose gold band with a quality solitaire diamond. Zeki was very proud of the quality of their diamonds and it showed through when he taught me how to use the jeweler magnifier. We spent time looking at multiple diamonds under magnification and it was an absolute blast to see such fine "defects" that would never be caught with naked eyes. At the end of the day, we discussed price and the process was 100% transparent. He showed me the price he gets the diamond for and the commission that he charges. After some comparisons with other jewelry dealers, i determined Zeki gave me the most for my money. My experience with Zeki and Arvik was stress-free and transparent and i would recommend my friends and family to them. Let me just start by saying that the excellent customer service and quality of the ring I received have made me a lifelong customer of Boston Diamond Studio. In February, with very little knowledge of diamonds or rings, I chose this shop at random just to look at some ring options. Arvik and Zeki were both very polite and patient, and they walked me through every aspect of the diamonds and rings until I found something that fit the image of what I had in mind. I took a picture of the ring just to double check with my fiancee's sister that I was on the right track, and six months later I went back to buy it. They both remembered me, and remembered the ring we had discussed back in February. I paid for it, picked it up a few days later, and proposed last month. Saying that my fiancée Sarah loved the ring doesn't even come close. It's beyond perfect. The level of craftsmanship is apparent, and the diamond and setting are absolutely beautiful. After the proposal, Sarah showed me a secret Pinterest board she has with similar looking rings. Somehow, just my descriptions of ring ideas and who Sarah is to Zeki and Arvik were enough to help me pick the absolute perfect ring. I was excited to work with them initially because they're a small family owned business, and that care and compassion truly show in the work that they do and the relationship they built with me as we discussed rings. Arvik and Zeki run a jewelry business that is truly one of a kind. I happened upon their store while looking for wedding bands. Their's was the first store I entered and I found myself comparing every other jewelers store to this one. First off, they provide superb service. I went in there having no clue what I was looking for and they were both patient, extremely knowledgeable, and they never pressured me into buying anything. After deciding that I wanted two curved wedding bands to go around my engagement ring, I started comparing prices at multiple stores in the area. When I came back to Platinum Studio by Z, I told them the lowest price I had been quoted for the two bands by another store. Not only did they tell me they would do the same bands for even a little less than the amount the other store quoted me for, but they would also be using much higher quality diamonds with almost double the amount of carats. A week later, my custom-made bands were already done for me to pick up, and they are absolutely stunning! Zeki is truly an artist and cares so much about making the jewelry as beautiful as possible. When I picked up my bands, they had even added more diamonds to each band so that the diamonds go almost all the way down on either side- Zeki did this because he knew what would look best for the bands, and I wasn't charged anything extra. I had a wonderful experience when I visited Platinum Studio Z at 333 Washington Street in downtown Boston. I had been given a Baum Mercier watch by my former employer for years of service. It is an expensive watch. I have had the watch about 3 years and wore it about 1/2 the time. The watch stopped and I went to a battery replacement shop to have a new one put in. They put one in and the next day it stopped again. When I went back to the battery store, I had a note from the watch shop that said it needed to be cleaned and it would cost $175 and that Baum Mercier was very good watch and therefore it would cost that much to fix it. I was horrified to think that I would have to pay $175 for a cleaning just because it was a Baum Mercier. I also had quotes of about the same price from many others for the same problem.Needless to say, it seemed that all these people were in cahoots with each other. Then I walked into Platinum Studio Z. A watchmaker named Erik looked at my watch and,after telling him my story, said that many battery and watch repair shops do not know how to put in a battery properly and that it takes a special technique to do it right. I told him how much I was quoted and he said he could probably do it for $25. I was thrilled by his honesty and for actually caring about me. I liked him and trusted him the minute I met him. A week ago I went to the jewelers building to get an engagement ring that was special and wasn't one from a cookie cutter jeweler like Kay or zales. I wanted something that was unique and couldn't be found from anywhere else. My husband and I couldn't have had a better engagement and wedding ring shopping experience than with Zeki and Arvik! They are extremely kind and genuine and they provided a no pressure environment from the get go. We looked at a few other places in Boston for comparisons' sake, but ultimately decided to go with Zeki and Arvik because they not only gave a more than fair price but also provided incomparable customer service! For the engagement ring, we brought in our own antique cut center stone along with a picture of a three stone setting that had hearts in the baskets. Although they don't specialize in antique cut diamonds, Zeki was able to find a gorgeous matching pair for the two side stones. He also recommended that he hand make the ring rather than use a cast because it will fit the antique feel of the ring much better. You can just tell Zeki truly cares about his work and making sure he makes you the perfect ring! The turnaround time for the ring was exactly as they described and both Zeki and Arvik were super quick to respond to any emails regarding the progress. We were so happy with the craftsmanship and overall experience that we came back to them for both of our wedding bands. You absolutely cannot go wrong with getting your rings done by Zeki and Arvik! I have no words to describe how happy I am with this place. it was referred to me by a friend. As soon as I walked through the door, I felt welcomed by Mr and Mrs. Ozcan. They took their time to carefully help me pick out a ring. I hadn't known what type of ring my fiancee would want but they help me chose a beautiful ring. Days later, I found out that my girlfriend had a different or cut style in mind, one different from what I had chosen. I went back to change the ring but the ring was too beautiful and also with a little reassurance from both Mr and Mrs. Ozcan, I decided to stay with my first choice. Now for the most amazing part, my engagement was scheduled for new years' day. I had given Mr. Ozcan my ring for a re-size and the pick-up was scheduled for new years' eve. This review is long overdue - I worked with Arvik and Zeki back in February to create a custom engagement ring from an heirloom diamond I'd been gifted. After sending an email for a quote, I received a response within a few hours and set up a date to come in to create a custom piece. Arvik was so easy to work with and so kind. I was having an heirloom diamond reset from a previous setting into a brand new rose gold setting. I had some very specific ideas in mind and they were met with nothing but enthusiasm for the project at hand. I received CAD designs within a week (so fast!), and had only a few minor adjustments to request. Within a day or two, I received the updated changes, which were absolutely perfect! Arvik listened to every tiny detail I had, and managed to pull them from my imagination and make them real. They even worked to get my ring ready before stores closed for COVID, and I was able to pick it up prior to Boston shutting down. I fully plan to have another setting customized and reset through Boston Diamond Studio, and have been telling anyone who will listen what a fantastic experience I had with them. Upon embarking on the purchase of an engagement ring, the sheer amount of information and varied opinions I found online was making for a very harrowing experience. While I was armed with a very basic criterion of what I was looking for, I really didn't know how to turn that into a physical metal-and-stone purchase. I really needed expert advice and guidance. Having never really been to a jewelry store before, I'll freely admit that I was very intimidated entering an entire Jeweler's Building. But from the moment I literally walked into the door of their shop (I didn't realize the door was going to be locked ;)), Arvik and Zeki greeted me warmly and made me feel welcome. After finishing up with two clients, both devoted their attention to all of my questions and concerns. They were incredibly patient, always offered thoughtful advice, and at no point was there any pressure. It really felt as though they were making the purchase with me. If I could give them more stars, I would! My fiance and I had the pleasure of working with this great husband and wife team recently. They are friendly, approachable, patient, and extremely helpful. I would even go as far as to say that you should skip the rest of the jewelers in this building if you are in a hurry, like we were - however, you're probably like me, I still went to each and every jeweler in the building, despite my time constraints, and honestly, I didn't find prettier rings anywhere else. I found one other store with comparable diamonds, but their prices were ludicrous. I even went and found another ring somewhere else with more diamond than I had originally chosen at Z, but the ring was no where near as beautiful as Z's, so I returned to Platinum Studio, and they matched the diamond and gave me a MUCH better price than the other jeweler (for a prettier ring!). Platinum Studio gave me much more than I had asked for, and their customer service skills are impeccable; if not for anything else, you'll love them for the care and attention they give to your needs, and how lovely they are to work with. This is a belated review, but I just had to circle back to do this. In August I went looking for a ring after work, having planned to secretly meet up with my fiance's friends to help me pick out a ring, but didn't realize that almost every shop in the Jewelry Building closed around 6 (or earlier)! We got lucky that Arvik was still bustling around the shop, and though they had just closed, she let us in. From the start, she was incredibly hospitable and helpful. That's how I knew this place was special. We picked out a stone and a band, with no-pressure guidance from Zeki and helpful advice from Arvik, and I ended up with exactly the ring I had imagined for my fiance, within my budget. But the most incredible thing was how quickly they were able to finish the ring - I was under a time crunch, and they amazingly got it back to me in a matter of days, in time for me to bring it on vacation so I could propose in one of our favorite places, Acadia National Park. She said yes (whew), and absolutely LOVES the ring. From beginning to end, they were nothing but courteous, professional, and friendly, and I felt they truly did all they could to make the ring (and proposal) special. My now fiance and I stopped into Platinum Studio By Z a few months ago to browse for engagement rings. We'd never looked before and he wanted to get a true sense of what I really wanted before purchasing. We headed to Downtown Crossing to peruse, and as we were walking by Z's, he and his partner were waving us in - so welcoming. They were so accommodating and kind, and really made us comfortable, without putting too much pressure on us to purchase. The last diamond they showed us was absolutely beautiful, and a perfect balance between the quality and size that my fiance was looking for. While we didn't purchase that day, I wasn't surprised that a few months later when my fiance asked me to marry him, that he had purchased the ring at Platinum Studios by Z. I went to Platinum Country at the suggestion of an employee of a large jewelry store that did not have the type of bracelet I was looking for. I had a picture of the type of bracelet I wanted, and asked Zeki if he could make it. He made a prototype of one to make sure I was happy with the design. He then made the bracelet, and it was more beautiful than the picture I had brought in. I was so happy with it, I asked him to make two more, in different colors of gold. I now have white, yellow, and rose bracelets, each with diamonds. Each different color of gold also has a little colored stone in the clasp. The white gold has a sapphire, yellow has an emerald, and the rose has a ruby. Zeki really just used the photo as a guide, and worked closely with me to be sure I was happy with the personal design he was adding to the bracelets. I feel Zeki really has a talent for jewelry design, and I could not be happier with my beautiful bracelets! I get compliments on them every time I wear them. I have had the bracelets professionally appraised, and the jeweler raved about the fine workmanship. I also realized that the price Zeki charged for the bracelets was very fair. read more
