    Showing free breakfast

I stayed here for 1 night during the week with my brother who came down from Maine. It was $269 plus tax. The room was well appointed, had 2 double beds, a refrigerator, coffeemaker and a nice big tv. It offered free internet, however, you needed to be a member of their free club Bon something, got a membership number, and away we went. It did take us sometime to figure it out but eventually we did. Otherwise you can pay like $14.95 for 1 day. No way was I doing that. Here is my big issue and I did talk to the hotel manager. When you google the name of the Marriot, you don't get "The Marriot" you get another website so be very careful. As shown in the picture I took, it offers a free breakfast. NOT TRUE. They offer breakfast.... For $22.95!!!! Maybe it's me, I want the little bottles back. Who knows who has been there before or touched the pump or how long the shampoo has been in the container. I know it's greener but I don't care! Enjoy your stay!!!!

would NEVER recommend this place to anyone and will be posting all over social media and then…read moresome!! Management is rude and racist! We've been renting this hall for a while now and Saturday night took the cake! Management literally bothered our guests all night and tried to take the microphone from our DJ. Touching the food and walking around as if they were part of the party crew. Told my sister that because she set up more tables we had to pay more money, which we didn't mind at all...because we have it! Called the cops on us but then lied and said it was the neighbors (crock of shit because one of the neighbors is a friend and said they didn't know what the man was talking about because it wasn't loud) Then said we left the place dirty, thank goodness we took all kinds of picture because we cleaned it better than the condition it was given to us !!! We were even told we didn't have to sweep the floors by the President, I think his name was Tommy, but we cleaned that hall from top to bottom, took out the trash in all. If this were true you would have NEVER given my Sister the deposit back!!! You called her to come pick it up!!! And then she gave you both (Brian and Tommy) a piece of her mind today! They are disgusting owners and own staff said you're dickheads! We agree! Please don't rent from them!

She and much of my family really like this place and rave about it, but my overall first impression was definitely a mixed bag. My mom made the reservation for Saturday at 4:45pm in the dining room. We arrived a little early, so she showed me around the beautifully renovated building. When we checked in with someone, they redirected us to the bar area downstairs as they were holding a private event in the main dining area. Okay, not a big deal to us. However I could understand if someone else might get a little annoyed at being told they had to go to the bar area when they specifically asked for the dining room on their reservation. I have to say that I do love the downstairs bar area, it's classy and has a vintage speakeasy vibe. We were quickly greeted by one of the guys working the bar who was super nice and did a great job. For a drink I started with their version of an espresso martini, which was a good start to the food experience and gave me high hopes. They brought us out some popovers which to me were just okay. For an appetizer we got some buffalo chicken dip, which was quite delicious. For dinner my mom got a Caesar salad (which I tried a little bit of and thought was good) and a flatbread pizza that was on special. I decided to be a little bougie and went with the braised short ribs, and I regret to say that the dish fell flat for me. The short rib did come apart okay when I stuck my fork in it, but it was kind of chewy, bland and overall really didn't have much flavor. The menu also states that the short rib is served with broccolini (which is a milder, sweeter version of the green vegetable) but it came with regular plain broccoli instead, which I was also quite honestly disappointed by. With all that being said the polenta was my favorite thing on the plate. I'm a little conflicted. The place is beautiful and the staff is so nice. But with how much it was hyped up to me, I was a little let down. I'm kind of thinking that I should've went with another dish? I really want to truly love this place, so I'm sure I'll be back with family at some point to give them another chance.

I'm not someone who rushes to Yelp, but this stay earned the effort…read more I recently stayed at The Merchant for the second time, and whatever magic existed during my first visit is gone. The biggest issue: the hotel hosted a large, ticketed public event that completely took over the main lobby--with zero advance notice to guests. I woke up to a lobby packed with strangers and nowhere to sit or gather with my family. I've never stayed at a hotel that allows a public event to fully overrun its only common area without warning paying guests. And no, "just go somewhere else" isn't an option--there is nowhere else. There are no additional common spaces and no elevator. Since we were meeting elderly family members, climbing three to four flights of stairs to our room wasn't possible. The lobby being unusable wasn't a minor inconvenience; it was a dealbreaker. Operationally, things only went downhill. Check-in is at 4pm, but arrive after 5pm and there's no one on-site to check you in. Checkout, however, is rigidly 11am. Our room was never cleaned during the stay, despite leaving the "please clean" tag on the door. Because of the limited staffing hours, we couldn't even get fresh towels. Then there's the mouse. I saw one in the common area and notified staff. Nothing was done. Food is left out uncovered for guests, which I promptly avoided--because "boutique hotel meets rodent buffet" isn't really my vibe. What's also new: some sort of train or underground rumbling that shakes the building roughly every hour, offering a front-row seat to what feels like an earthquake simulator. If this were a budget motel or a Holiday Inn, I might shrug and move on. But this is a $500-per-night hotel, and at that price point, these issues are unacceptable. Until these problems are addressed, I wouldn't recommend staying here--and I certainly won't be returning.
