Elizabeth from Boston Party Rentals is a rock star as far as I'm concerned!!! I mention her specifically because she woke up relatively early on a cold Sunday morning and made her way through a fresh snow storm to fulfill an order that I had placed the night before. They were very responsive to their "emergency phone line" and I cannot say that about Rentals Unlimited which is whom I originally placed my order through. Now, granted, I've never used any party rental service before, and probably won't again for some time. But I used them this weekend to get a "rain insurance" tent for my outdoor wedding and several extra chairs. They were reasonably priced, easy to work with on the phone, delivered and picked up the equipment as agreed without a hitch. Found these guys through a google search for party rentals. We needed a few high top tables, a bar, about a dozen bar stools, and a buffet table for a holiday party. These guys picked everything up and dropped them off, both times without me home, which made it easier on my part. The furniture was about the quality you would expect for a party rental but they also can provide table cloths for everything, which really made everything look great. The price was about $325 with delivery charges, I was very happy with the service and would use again. read more

I rented a rotisserie spit from Boston Party Rental, and they charged me $150 for the rental. Ok, fine. I agreed to that. But when I returned it, they claimed it was "dirty" and charged me a $112 cleaning fee. Are you kidding me? I could have *bought* a rotisserie for less money. Looking to rent a tent for a function. Called once no answer, called a second time and a man answered. Told him I was looking for a specific tent and he told me they didn't have that but had another option available. Upon asking more questions he hung up the phone on me. How rude! I ordered a bounce house for my sons birthday. I initially ordered for pickup but decided to have it delivered. Made the change to my order and added a delivery fee. When the bounce house was delivered they informed me that a setup is an additional charge. I asked them to set up and called to pay the additional fee. When will inflated the bounce house it was filthy so we spent about a half hour cleaning it out. Thinking this must be how it is since I have never rented a bounce house. They picked it up two days later. A week after the party I received an additional "cleaning" fee. This company seems to make their money in hidden fees. When I spoke with management I was informed that the contract states that you will be charged. The contract says, at the very bottom of items, "cleaning chrge for moonwalif returned dirty". No dollar amount. I was not charged the set up fee (even tho I called the office to tell them to add it, being honest) so the manager said I really made out in the deal. A good business lists charges and expectations from the initial order. Truth be told I would have spent $500 on the bounce house for my son happily iff all the charges were made clear from the beginning. I will never use this business again. read more

I hate to even give this place ONE STAR. The two ladies at the front desk are the most rudest individuals I've come across in a long time. This must be a family business, I am not sure why the owner(s) would even allow these ladies to work the front desk. My very first time visiting this place was a disaster. I asked questions regarding their policy and procedure and one of them responded "the sign is right there". They were curt, bad attitude and showed no interest in helping the customer. This was the best thing I've ever done for enhancing my New Years Eve gathering. I only needed a few items (two high top tables with linens, 2 ice buckets, 3 stools). These items made such a difference! Since it was a last minute addition I was a tad apprehensive but everything went smoothly. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Boston Party Rental looked like a good service for what I was looking for at the time, but boy was I wrong. This was a company that could care less about customer service. They were extremely rude, disrespectful, and seemed to not care about the products they were giving to their customers -- as long as they made their money. I spent a good amount of money (close to 600$) and felt that the products I got were worn in, mis-matched, and I did not get what I paid for. I had to pick up the products and drop them back off. You would think if a customer was spending that much money an automatic delivery service would be given, but no. When I went to pick up my order, it was not ready. They are only open till 3pm on Saturday and I came at 2pm and it seemed as if they were ready to close up shop. I felt rushed when I was picking my order up. I was extremely dissatisfied with my experience using this company and I would NEVER recommend their services to anyone. The worst customer service I have ever experienced in a very long time, all they cared about was the money they were receiving and all lacked personality. read more
