The decor felt warm and inviting, and the display of breads and pastries made the ordering process genuinely difficult because everything looked exactly as good as it should. I worked through a solid spread across my visit. The croissant is exceptional, with a proper lamination and a buttery, flaky exterior that holds up on its own without needing anything added to it. The almond croissant takes that foundation and builds on it well, with a generous amount of almond filling and a finish that does not lean too sweet. The pain au chocolat follows the same standard, the chocolate inside is good quality and the pastry around it has the right amount of crispness without being dry. The canele is a smaller order but worth including, with that characteristic caramelized exterior giving way to a soft, custardy center that is easy to underestimate until you are halfway through it. The creme brulee latte rounded out the order nicely and was a good match for everything on the pastry side of the table. It is rich without being overwhelming and complements the food rather than competing with it. The line moved well even when the place was busy, and the staff were friendly and engaged throughout. This is one of the better French style bakeries I have found in the area, and it holds up to that comparison without much debate.

Now I saw how un Green friendly they are here... expensive shopping bag for 2 pastries , a cardboard box for the apricot danish, a bag for the single muffin... a lot of unneeded cost factored into COGS or packaging materials and then into my prices paid. I saw assortment of delicious eclairs and looks price went up higher since I bought here before... up to 8.50 or higher . Great products sold here...I dropped my rating as got what I didn't order, and muffin needs vast improvements to get it to levels of the French pastries. Need tables, umbrellas, chairs outside... people sitting on curbs, me standing next to trash barrel for my packaging debris, on line ordering and pickup might speed up the line , but I like to see the daily changes or variety before ordering ...the pineapple dessert first I saw and would have been my dinner dessert. I had the Swedish fish and blue raspberry ice. The Swedish fish tasted exactly like the candy while I enjoyed the blue raspberry it wasn't as tart as I thought it would be. That's not a bad thing though! The gelati was also excellent. I highly recommend trying Rita's- it's not your average snow cone or Italian ice. I can't wait to go back!

Stick to fruit flavors, its been the best bet. Also, rita's is diabetic friendly! They have sugar free Italian ice flavors that rotate often. You can slightly tell it's not real sugar but it beats not having any at all. My favorite sugar free flavor is definitely dragonfruit. I wish they'd have 2 sugar free flavors available at a time but it's usually just one. For regular flavors, go for watermelon and mango...its definitely the real stuff because sometimes you get fresh bits of fruit in your ice! The custard reminds me of frozen cool whip. It's an interesting texture feel on the palate. It's not everyone's cup of tea but it's worth trying! My favorite thing to do is to get it layered into an Italian ice, best of both worlds! Be mindful it's window service only, has a few tables out but most just stand and enjoy their treats in little group huddles. I've seen families sit at the back of the car trunks too.
