It took about a week to fill them with all our stuff. They're nest-able when empty and stackable when full. On moving day, our crew was thrilled that everything was ready to go and in such handy crates. It was raining, so cardboard boxes would have been a nightmare. It took about 5 days to empty them, and Alex arrived on time to pick them up from my new place. Amazing!! Highly recommend. And more eco-friendly, since the crates can be re-used many times. Drove it 2 days west and will drop it next week at another location. We did see 2 big bugs in truck interior but were able to kill these before loading items. We picked up a large flat rate box ($22.10 March 2023) and was informed we can pay for it when we drop the package off. So we returned a couple of hours later to do so. There was only one person in line (looks like she's renewing her passport and possibly her first time doing so) but we weren't in a hurry. A male worker came from the back to help us and our transaction was over in less than ten minutes with no issues. They provide glue sticks for customers to seal their envelopes. They sell packing supplies if you need them. This location also rents mailboxes. Convenient location and hours.

What happened over the next week and a half was discouraging. I told them that I had a very restricted schedule (because I am a teacher). I cannot leave classes just because I have movers coming over. We tried to find a time, but it was hard. Eventually I asked my boss for a favor so I could get a time that would work. He let me out of a faculty meeting. This was a big favor. I worked hard to meet these movers halfway! But then on the day of the move, the movers called to say "Hey, we're done early today. I will say that I was surprised that I jumped ship and went with Bates Moving and I will tell you why. Mike came to my home and went through my house and garage room by room and talked to me about what he would do for certain pieces, he asked questions and he explained his business plan/commitment. He has worked for several moving companies and assessed what worked and what did not work for colleagues as well as customers. He found out the biggest concerns about both and addressed them by changing how his company does things. He hires experienced staff and takes the time to train staff correctly. He expects complete professionalism from his team and they give it. They were the politest crew I have ever dealt with, in any contractor I have hired. They took such care with my homes and my belongings. They put runners down in both homes that extended the length of the house. They wrapped my doors and door frames (NEVER have I had a mover doo this) to ensure they were not damaged. They wrapped EVERYTHING from the largest piece of furniture to the smallest lamp. They cleaned up every thing in each of my homes. They marked furniture to ensure it was put back together the same way they took it apart (right down to the height of our bed). They didn't just drop the items in a room and take off, they helped reassemble everything. They also helped me move 12 heavy boxes from our basement to our attic that they did not move to our new home but knew it would be difficult for me to do it myself. The price Mike quotes you is the price the move is, period! Mike ended up bringing 2 trucks and 2 extra employees because we had such large furniture and all of my husbands work benches and tools. He did NOT charge us extra. Truthfully he does what he says he is going to do. He does not lie and he treats him team well (which I appreciate). This was the best move I have ever experienced and I have moved 3 times prior and been responsible for 3 parental moves out of 30+year homes. You cannot go wrong with this company.
