I ordered through Uber eats the go combo dinner and just everything was bad. The delivery man had a huge hole in his carry bag which really bothered me. Then I found that the food container- a styrofoam container was broken and the food was spilled into the plastic bag. The food had a big piece of dirt and there were 2 tiny pieces of French fries. So I don't know who messed up except that I couldn't eat my lunch and I am a bit hangry now. I don't want to eat that food- it may make me sick. Soo think my falafel craving was just shut down. Ugh... don't. Just don't go here. As Alyssa F. pointed out, their food is "unspectacular, but edible." I would like to add to that statement and say "edible, but indigestible." The place is dirty and a bit ghetto. I'm not sure their sanitary conditions are up to code, but ok I'll let the health inspector make that judgement. They don't accept credit cards, cash only, which would be fine if I ever carried cash on me. The owner said the credit card machine is broken but I'm convinced he's lying because if he really wanted to he could have had it fixed by now. I went back over a 3 month span and the credit card machine was still not working... It's the year 2009, if you can't accept Visa or MasterCard I don't understand how you intend to survive as a business. read more

Worst service ever!! Really disappointed!! I came after seeing the high reviews here.. I ordered a mix chicken and meat kabobs. he told me that will take 10 mint. Then I repeat my order after noticing him replace the meat kabobs with a regular shawerma meat. He said by then.. Ooh sorry if you want Kabob you have to wait 15 minutes!! I said Ok I would wait and after 15 minutes I asked him again then he said ''sorry my friend kabob needs 1 hour to be prepared" ...!!?? Because I was in hurry to catch up with my trips I took chicken with rice. Taste is not bad! I would give it maximum of 2 point. Small space stuffed with cheep tables and chair. We ordered from this restaurant tonight and the food was not authentic at all. One of things we ordered looked like a 5 year old made it, the cheese was not melted at all. The lamb pies were disgusting, tasted like wet dog. The hummus was also unnecessarily spicy to cover up the fact that it was definitely canned. Overall a huge disappointment. read more

We had a lamb pie and lamb shawarma. It was pretty good, but by the time I was 1/3 done with my shawarma, I noticed how salty it was. I had to finish my bottle of water afterwards. The pie was good, but it came out so flat. It looked rounder and crispy on display.. did they use the microwave to heat it? Hope not. read more

I was surprised and happy to stumble upon Boston Shawarma on my way home tonight. I stopped in and spoke with Monzer, who took my order. I wanted chicken shawerma, tabouleh and some falafel... oh and basboooooooosa... Monzer filled my plate with rice, chicken, salad, falafel, tahina, sides of garlic sauce, pita bread... wow. I am stuffed. But not enough to ignore the way better tasting than it looked baklawa and surprisingly moist basboosa. And a few spoonfuls of the parsley filled tabouleh, nicely low on bulgar. Love this place! The food is always yummy and we usually end up with enough leftovers for lunch the next day. Especially when I'm feeling tired after a long day, this is a great place to get some savory comfort food. I've tried a few other things, but the lamb shawarma plate is my favorite. Even the rice on it's own is tasty. And the fries are good. And the babaganoush, too. And don't even get me started on how nice the owner is. We eat there so often the owner recognizes us. One time I forgot to say we wanted no red sauce on one of our dinner plates, but they remembered anyway. And one time, after we left with our takeout, the owner chased us down to give us some of our money back, because he wanted us to have a free dinner. This place is hands down the best for Shawarma in Boston! I highly recommend the Lamb Shawarma sandwich. If you feel especially ravenous, try the Shawarma dinner. I have tried all their Baklava varieties and I liked the Honey Walnut Baklava the best. Vegetarians will like the Falafel Sandwich or Falafel dinner. What's more, you get a free soda with your order. The service is quick and the owner likes to listen to feedback to keep improving the customer experience. I'm not sure why this is tagged as closed. I walk by it almost everyday and it definitely is not. I've been here a couple of times and was not exactly impressed but I wasn't turned off either. It's the only place with Middle Eastern food really close to Northeastern campus, which is why I go to it. I've definitely had better, but that doesn't stop me from enjoying this place. I especially like the chicken shawarma on pita, although my boyfriend doesn't really like it too much when I decide to have it for dinner. I usually get the nickname "shawarma breath" if we hang out after (although I think the real reason is because he really likes to say shawarma). This is my 2nd time at Boston Shawarma and I thought I should give it another shot after a less than favorable experience. The place has 8 tables or so. The decor is a little nicer than an average kebab shop. I ordered the Daily Special - Grilled Lamb, Chicken, Kafta, Rice and Salad Plate ($12,99) Overall, the food was a lot better than the first time. All the meats were well marinated and tasty but the chicken, lamb and rice was a little dry. The portions are relatively big.... it could definitely feed 2. This place was right across from my alma mater (northeastern) and down the street from my job in Longwood. I am probably biased because I am comparing it to another magnificent shawarma spot, but to me this place is just okay. The portions are HUGE, and I love how spicy it is, but I have only gotten the chicken shawarma which to me was never tender enough. Nevertheless, if I was in the area I would go again. I came here for dinner prior to a concert at nearby Boston Symphony. Its definitely a great spot for the University students as we were eating saw plenty of people coming in and out so location wise very good. The food met my expectations, we had a classic shawarma and a kafka dinner plate. on the dinner plate they had extra sauce just for you and for me I didn't really need it since it was already pretty salty and well seasoned. I've passed by many times, but am never in the area, although I've worked in the pru for 3 years and never set foot on that side of mass ave. I am glad I tried it. The shawarma was pretty awesome. It was cut into chunks which was different than what I am used to, but in a totally delicious way. We also wanted to try hummus but didn't want to (make sense?) so the guy gave us a bowl for free and it was reallllly good. I also got 2 meat pies to go as if I didn't have enough food. The row of restaurants near/on Northeastern's campus is really a crapshoot. Some of them are delicious, and the students reward them with husky dollars galore. However, most are mediocre to bad, and we (sadly) shower them with our money regardless- mostly because they're convenient. Boston Shawarma has sort of a weird odor to it, which (I know) doesn't always mean bad food. But I've had good shawarma and falaffel, and this does not measure up at all. If you really want Middle Eastern food, Jaffa is not that far away and not that much more expensive. If you really want food that's nearby, Temptations Café next door has halfway decent falaffel. Save your money, or at least go somewhere else. read more

The place isn't much to look at, so maybe not the best place to dine in after sightseeing around Boston, but the food is really good. We got the lamb shawarma, chicken kabob, chicken shawarma -- and all of us really, REALLY enjoyed our sandwiches. I only had the lamb shawarma, and I would definitely recommend it (get it spicy)! They're generous with the meat and the bread that they use isn't the generic store bought pita bread that gets soggy -- it's some sort of wrap-type bread that makes it very on-the-go friendly. It was all right. Decent prices, and not too crazy with the crowds. I got the beef/lamb wrap. The meat had a powdery texture, that I assume came from the yogurt/cheese that was used. Also, the lettuce was chopped and not shredded, which meant that they fell out of the wrap in chunks. Very messy. Taste-wise, it was good. Other than they powdery texture, the meat had a nice salty flavor, and the yogurt went well with it. I don't suggest making it spicy, since it cuts the taste of everything else. There are some who would criticize Shawarma for its lack of quality, but honestly its a 7.50 combo for soda and food that fills you for literally the whole day. It is full of veggies, a surprisingly generous portion of meat and even a few french fries which honestly did nothing for the meal, but nothing to detract either. Judging a fish by its ability to climb a tree is apocryphal advice from Einstein and likewise, judging Boston Shawarma for its ability to do anything other than serve up a generous kebab sandwich is silly. It delivers what it promises: good cheap plentiful food. But really, I had eaten a banana the whole day until 4pm and I had planned to eat two dinners to compensate but after just a chicken sandwich I was full the rest of the day. read more
