My go to source for wines and spirits in Sonoma County unless we are buying directly from the wine or spirit maker. They have every spirit imaginable and a wide selection of Sonoma County and international wines, especially from France. You have to know what you are looking for as there are not many people around to help you besides cashiers. Prices are very reasonable in our opinion. We are grateful they sell bottles from most of our favorite Southern Rhone producers in Chateauneuf-du-Pape and Gigondas which are 15 miles and 2 miles respectively from our house in the South of France. Bottle barn is located in a warehouse district, tucked away just for me! Well, it can be tucked away for you too....just please don't buy all the cake !!! (more on that later). It's setup much like DSW or a massive shoe store, which I never thought could get better than that, but then you see the prices?!?!?! I always feel like I'm stealing when I'm leaving because there's no way I'm getting out of that store with this bottle of cake vodka that's less than $10!!!!! Things to buy: UV Cake vodka. If you've never tried it, go buy it. Now. So amazing, it will make you want to drink it with every meal! Plus, it's distilled, so naturally gluten free!!! Tastes just like cake, without the fat and the fullness of death you feel after downing frosting. Actually that's the extent of my list, I usually supplement with other flavored vodkas, like the Clementine Svedka or the Stoli Ohranj, and if cake isn't your style, they also have adventurous flavors such as: Bakon, Bubbles, Cougar, and Dude. The danger of this place is everything is so reasonably priced, and they have SUCH a selection, it's really easy to just buy a ton of alcohol, which now sits on your counter because the vodka bottles are too tall, and makes you look like an alcoholic. This is a very well kept secret, but so glad we heard about it from a friend who lives in Santa Rosa. It is an incredibly well stocked wine shop (with other liquors as well) and has aisles and aisles of well curated bottles at very good prices. This was my first visit to Bottle Barn. As others have mentioned, it is a huge wharehouse type set up - not a fancy store. It is jammed packed with beers, liquors and lots of wine. I didn't have a chance to do a lot of price comparison shopping but they did seem to have some good deals on some wines I was familiar with. This is the best overall wine shop I've ever shopped at in the World. Granted, I'm from Utah, so the liquor aisle at a 7-11 in another State would look good to me, but seriously, I've gone into stores all over the Country and several places around the World. I make a trip out to Sonoma County a couple times a year will always schedule time to drop in the Bottle Barn. (shhhhh don't tell my governor!) Prices here are the best I've seen. Selection is really broad as well, especially with California wines, but the Italian/French, etc. selection isn't too shabby either. Keep in mind, this is a discount warehouse, though, not a specialty shop. There's a few employees who are knowledgeable to a variety of expertise, but you should really rely on knowing what you want and how to read a label to find it. If you're looking for someone to spend an hour with you to give you the perfect recommendation for your 50th anniversary with just the right specific pairing to a particular restaurant, then you're going to pay extra for that at a boutique specialty high end wine shop. But if you can recognize what a 1er Cru Burgundy label really means when you pass it on a shelf, you're going to get it for 30% cheaper at the Bottle Barn. read more

Going in person - I love this place. But, they say they have curbside pickup, you call them and they say to email them your order, but no one ever emails or calls you back. You leave a voice mail message and no one calls you back. It's disappointing during the pandemic that local businesses say they provide alternate ways to do business but they really don't. read more

Bottle Barn rocks! A a non- alcohol beer drinker, it can be difficult to find the better tasting more premium NA brews out there. For me there are only 3 that taste like a good honest beer. 1st is Lagunitas NA 2nd one is Bitburger 00, 3rd is Stella Artois 00. Asked to be called when it came in. 3 weeks no call. They did not discontinue it is what I was told. Yesterday and today, I called them 15 times to see if they have the product in stock. Had some time to kill while in Santa Rosa and figured it was the perfect time to visit Bottle Barn as I have been meaning to for quite sometime. Directions were pretty easy, but Bottle Barn does not really stand out when you are attempting to find it for the first time. Anywho, once you have found it, you will find plenty of parking right outside the door, so +1 for a short walk. Now down to the main point of why I did not give Bottle Barn a five star review like most Yelpers who have reviewed it already. The prices are pretty fair, but in all honestly I find better deals for the most part at BevMo, so that alone for me knocked off a star on the review. All negatives aside, that should not deter you from visiting this wonderland of alcohol. They have ample amounts of every beer, cider, wine, spirits, etc, and I would have to say a larger selection than most smaller BevMo's. I was beyond stoked that they carried three of the four international wines that I find impossible to find unless purchasing via an online website. After walking around the store for close to an hour, I ended up scooping up three bottles of wine and some sake. While searching the wine aisles, a Bottle Barn employee approached me and spent some time with me chatting about various wines I was interested in. He was extremely knowledgeable in international wine and spirits in general which I found impressive as most employees at these types of stores are clueless for the most part. You'd think from all the rave reviews that Bottle Barn is a finely appointed, brightly lit, good looking wine emporium. - WRONG - Listen I love Bottle barn just like everybody else who lives in Sonoma County. I shopped here the 1st day that they opened for business almost 30 years ago (I worked next door), and have purchased wines here at least 400 times. Be aware that Bottle Barn is a poorly lit, butt-ugly warehouse. It even smells dusty. Most wine cases are stacked on the floor. Your neighborhood COSTCO is downright pretty in comparison. So YES! Lots of wines at reasonable prices. And NO! This ain't Harrod's of London. It's Bottle Barn on Industrial Way in Santa Rosa. You get the picture... read more

I can only say that if you are in the market for a combination of a great variety of both local and international product at amazing prices then this is your place. I can't say enough good things about the variety of options in this location. I am a fan of the wine selection and love all the local varieties as well as the option to purchase some gems from other countries. I feel the national chain stores(BEV MO etc) don't compare to Bottle barn. They just don't offer the same selection you find here.
