GO ELSEWHERE FOR SPAY/NUETER!!! Had decent experiences here until we were falsely quoted for a spay. On our appointment the doctor said my corgis spay would be about $400. We booked it and I took the day off work. When I arrived to the spay appointment they saw my dog and handed me a quote of nearly $1000. INSANE. I left because of their deception. They have the bill setup to charge over $600 for the spay, then about $350 for meds, IV, etc. Many other animal clinics charge a standard rate based on the dog and it costs significantly less than this animal hospital. I took my corgi to another hospital and the front desk staff said they have never heard of such an outrageous price for a spay. My corgi received much better care at a better price elsewhere. Brought my dog in doc said if symptoms continue then they can do a small procedure to fix. I gave it some time for meds to work. There was no change so, I called to make procedure the appointment and they told me they need to see him again first for exam. It's non life threatening and nothing changed since last seen however, they want me to pay another $83 for vet appointment to see he is exactly the same as previous appointment. I will no longer use this vet. I have 5 animals. They are all about the money. They don't care he's suffering. Im disabled and cant afford another office visit on top on the cost of procedure he quoted me. They didn't care. I told them he will have to suffer because I can barely pay for the actual procedure, much less another office visit. They didn't care. They don't do same day visits either, they send you to emergency vet $$$. Loyalty means nothing to them. I've been with them for 21 years. Thanks for nothing. Was in the market for a clinic with grooming service as my Bernie-doodle was matted and PetSmart would not touch her. PetSmart said my puppy may have to be sedated therefore the groomer had to have connections to a veterinarian. Appointment scheduling was easy and available online. The front desk staff, the vet assistant and the doctor were all very welcoming and friendly. The doctor provided education and recommendations. My Bernie-doodle did not have to be sedated and she was actually not heavily matted as thought. The groomer was super nice, pleasant and knew how to approach a shy puppy. The groomer did an outstanding job on a puppy who really had no options. I am incredibly grateful to have found this GEM in Bolingbrook. Thank you!! read more

These people are all about the money. I have a cat that is diagnosed with diabetes. she has been in rem for a long time. she was acting lethargic, would not eat, drink. I explained that. I wanted only to know how much a glucose test would be. I have a glucose meter but could not get enough blood from her ear. They said that first I would need to pay 207 for an exam. Then after I agree to a treatment plan, they would decide if she needed a glucose test but still would not tell me what tat would cost. Are you freaking kidding me. my vet was closed on Sunday and she has had diabetes for 8 years managed well. I got her to a vet that actually cares this morning and it was in fact her sugar. I hope she makes it she will be there all day. Thanks for nothing you greedy jerk offs. You should be ashamed. read more

I will not be returning to this facility again. The place is nice and clean and the staff is friendly. However my previous clinic is Naperville animal hospital and this place seems VERY impersonal in comparison. The vet just takes your pet to the back to perform the checkup, then brings them back with no feedback. I brought my dog in for her annual shots and I also expressed that I felt she had an ear infection. When the vet brought her back he didn't say anything about her ears. When I asked him he replied.. "oh her ears are fine!" But he sold me a $50 cleaning solution. I took her back to her old vet and low and behold she has an ear infection. They said she needed a fecal test, but never gave me the results. After almost $400 spent, I have no feedback on how my dog is doing etc. I only left Naperville animal hospital due to the distance, but I will be returning. read more

It was a miracle - he is very gifted working with difficult patients!! Gunner had the most thorough exam ever and he even managed to get a blood draw without him even flinching. This is an extremely kind, thorough vet practice. I've brought one of my cats and my bearded dragon here and they each have received excellent care. The techs have been very friendly and gentle with my companions, and I've not had any troubles getting an appointment when needed. Dr. Pulins is one of the kindest vets that I have met and has never made me feel rushed. He has a great bedside manner and is always willing to explain things in detail and answer questions. During their curbside phase, he spent a lot of time with me over the phone making sure everything was explained. Ever since merging, their customer service went down (at least in my experience it did). I had no idea they had relocated so I traveled another 15 minutes with my distressed animal on top of an already 15 minutes. Car rides make my dog nervous. Initially, when I approached the glass door, the two vet techs made eye contact with me, but then looked down as if to wave me off. After I had knocked, one of them came to the door. I explained no one had told me about the relocation on the phone. The vet tech became argumentative with me. I decided to drop it because I felt bad. After all, what is 30 minutes? With my distressed dog walking on the pavement, I expected the vet tech to just accept the appointment for 11:00. Instead, she told me to go back to my car, and call in. I was in disbelief. I understand COVID regulations, but this was ridiculous. I was already standing directly in front of her, clearly upset about the lack of communication. Review for Pet Grooming Only I made an appointment to bring my dogs in for grooming and was told the price would be approximately $50 per dog. I shared with Emily that my neighbor had advised she paid $45 for her dog grooming. My neighbor's dog as well as my dogs are all 8-13lbs. I was then told they "quote the higher price so the customer is pleasantly surprised when the cost is possibly a little lower." I brought the dogs in for a "basic + cut" and was quite surprised when I was charged $60 for one dog and $65 for the other dog with no explanation. I shared with the groomer, Toni the above information & she indicated my neighbor was grandfathered into the lower price & I was being charged the going rate for the area. Wow, my dogs have been with Boughton Square Animal Clinic for five years. We used the grooming service there until Jen, the prior groomer was no longer there. Given the above situation, I would definitely not refer anyone there for grooming! It appears there are not set prices and the groomer charges "who" she wants what she wants to!!! I never write review, but This clinic is a 10/10, A+++++. Terry was AMAZING when my girlfriend and I called to make appointment, she seemed to care, top quality. We were originally told Dr. Pooluns, but he was out of office. My girlfriends old dog has suffered allergies, stinky infected ears and infected feet and skin for 2 years. It has been very sad watching him rip himself apart and we thought putting him to sleep would be our only way to help him. Dr. Miller who saw us was PHENOMENAL in explaining allergies so we understand and what could be causing them but also let us know it can be a while before we figure everything out. He answered all question we had and never made us fel pressure or like we were bothering him which was not our experience at VCA Bolingbrook or Naperville animal hospital. The medications that he gave us fixed up the skin in a week and itching in a few days and we can enjoy spending time in nice weather without our dog scratching. Doctor made some food suggestions and some prescribed food suggestions if the under the counter food just isn't doing it, we got one of the recommended foods and it seems to help. We can't sing Dr. Miller praises any louder and will refer friends and family. His technician Deseree/Desiree/Dezeree was so sweet and kind to our dog, and was At great at explaining the medication at the end and was so helpful when we asked if we could add a nail trim after we were done. I'm not sure of the name of the payment desk girl that was there when we paid but she was great as well, she was blond and on the young. We are going to bring our other dog and 2 cats to see them soon! Only suggestion is the medications were very expensive compared to online. Dr. Kustusch D.V.M. informed us that he noticed while he was cleaning her teeth in the upper mouth Holly may possibly have Melanoma Cancer. As part of the procedure after the teeth cleaning testings were sent out and was confirmed. Had Dr.Kustusch not recognized the problem and his experience we wouldn't have known. We are so Thankful to have Dr.Kustusch for taking great care of our Holly who is nearly 15 years old. I would highly recommend Boughton Square Animal Clinic for all pets!!! read more

I really like them until I was given the unfortunate new my dog was sick and had 2-3 weeks to live which broke my heart and thankful they found the issue. When It came time, I called at 8:30 on a Monday morning requesting and appointment to have my dog euthanized. The response was, "We are booked all day and earliest we can get him in is tomorrow." Such lack of compassion and the thought of making my dog suffer another day made me sick to my stomach. Hinsdale animal clinic was able to accommodate this and are very compassionate, he did not have to suffer one more day to go to the rainbow bridge. read more

My pup came from an adoptive home, and the agent gave us a certificate for free immunizations at an animal hospital way out in Glenn Elyn. As much as I like free, that's too far of a haul in case of an emergency. I was looking for a vet closer to home. Well for me, this place fits the bill. Not even a five minute walk from the house. When I called to set up an appointment later in the week, the staff was very accommodating on the phone. They even had appointments that day, if need be. We got in the day of the appointment about fifteen minutes early, due to some paperwork that needed to be filled out. The paperwork took all of two minutes to complete. Lo and behold, next thing you know, we are sitting in a room waiting for the vet. Not to get too disgusting, but we noticed a little worm problem with our pup. The first thing they did was an on-site testing of the poop, and came up with tapeworm. They gave her a vaccination for that, along with her rabies shot, and a heart worm one. I was very impressed with the staff here. From the vet to the technicians to the office personnel. They were all very friendly, and answered any questions I had. My pup loved them because she got a treat out of the deal. The animal clinic itself is housed in a strip mall, and the office itself is rather, old, so to speak. If you're looking for shiny and new, this is not the vet you want to visit. But if you are looking for basic care for your pet, they do a fine job in that sector. read more

Boughton Square Animal Clinic is amazing. Our 10 year old dog needed a splenectomy. Another veterinary hospital wanted thousands of dollars to do it. We were panicked, but decided to go forward with scheduling because the alternative was unthinkable. My mother-in-law remembered that she took her dog to Boughton Square Animal Clinic years ago and recommended we call for a second opinion. They got back the same day with a quote that was a fraction of the cost. We were elated! Surgery was scheduled within days and we simply cannot be happier with our choice. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and they are located in an easily accessible location. Dr. Skoglund is fantastic!!! She's incredibly knowledgeable, thorough, kind and genuinely loves animals. She is clearly the type of doctor who wants the best for her patients and their families. She's also super responsive and extremely helpful. I cannot express how grateful I am to her as she guides us through this incredibly difficult time. We don't know what the outcome will be for our girl as we are waiting for our cancer test results; however, I am very confident that Dr. Skoglund and the team at Boughton Square Animal Clinic will never steer us wrong. Thurs night I had one of mine having snorting snot difficulties. It made me nervous so I called the vet the next day. [thinking oh boy, it's Friday there's no way he will get in] Well, they fit him in and gave him meds to help him. Also the Doc let me listen to his heart and chest, which was very cool. Even as soon as the next day my baby was starting to feel more energetic. The Doc Assistant called me at 8:05, just to check on him. How cool was that? We are long time clients (over 25 years) and usually don't write reviews but we need to write this one. We have had many dogs over the years and started with Dr. Graske. We are now with Dr. Kustusch as our primary doctor. We have had a lot of experience with regular visits as well as emergencies. I have to say, Dr. Kustusch and Dr. Pulins take care of us. Every time we have questions regarding medications, symptoms, problems, or simply need reassurance, Dr. K and Dr. Pulins will reach out to help. Our one dogs "Chip" was just diagnosed with a slipped disk. This is a serious injury that can cause paralysis if not treated promptly. Dr. Kustusch and Dr. Pulins have communicated with me to hear my questions and provide the answers we need. This is the first dog we've had with this injury, so it is new to us. They understand that we are not doctors and what is a crisis for us, may be routine and mild to them. They understand that. Too many times we have gotten bad news on previous dogs, so it is understandable to worry. Both doctors are professional and understanding that even though we are in a panic or worried to death about something we're not familiar with, they reassure you and guide you. I understand that they have patients to see that are in right in front of them at their office, but they "always" find time to get back to you to answer your questions or tell you it's nothing to worry about - it will be fine. It never fails, dogs get hurt and sick on weekends and holidays and it's nerve racking to have to wait until the next business day to get ahold of them, but I understand. I also realize that no doctor is getting paid to speak to you on the phone, but it shows that they DO care "and "NOT" about the money as few other reviews state. One of the receptionists "Terri", is awesome! Like us, she has been there a long time and she is always friendly, accommodating and caring. I can honestly say that I hope I get her whenever I call! New facility is nice, has more room than the old one, and it's only 8-10 minutes down the road, so overall, the move didn't affect us. I wish vets were today, like they were years ago as far as having doctors on call. Doesn't apply to me here, but I'm sure everyone gets aggravated when you pay to see your regular doctor during the week, and then something changes over the weekend. Then you just have to pay for an emergency visit at 24HR Emergency Room for something that may turn out to be minimal and was not required. Our last clinic had a rotating doctor schedule and would meet you at the office for true emergencies, but we left there for other reasons. I guess in a perfect world, that would happen, but unlikely nowadays. My family recommends Boughton Square Animal Clinic to others that may be looking for a new facility that does care about the care of their animals. read more

I have been going to Boughton Square Animal Clinic since 2013. ALL the vets & ALL the staff are extremely Knowledgeable, caring and professional. They handle my Rusty (dog) as if he were their own. I highly recommend Boughton Square Animal Clinic. They have a new groomer, Toni Smith, she is WONDERFUL. She answered all my questions. My Rusty has never been to a groomer, so I was a little concerned of how he would react. Well, when Rusty & I met her outside of the clinic, he liked her right away and walked in with her with no problem. It wasn't until the first true emergency visit (which turned out to be feline renal failure) that I truly appreciated the dedication and excellence of the entire staff. I had an emergency with my dog and didn't know where to go. We had been patients at Banfield & VCA so I called around to see if I could get him in. Banfield said they were full though their pricing was very reasonable. VCA quoted me hundreds for appt+lab tests and basically scared me away. An online search brought up Boughton Square bc it's so close to me so I gave them a call. They were full & closing soon but they still took me after listening to the issues my dog was having! I can't say how grateful I am to have found them. They put me to ease with the concerns I had about my dog once I got there. They did minimal testing unlike what some of these old reviews on here say. The Dr was very helpful, a great listener, as was his vet tech. I walked out with peace of mind & spent far less thn what the other vets wanted to charge me. I think we found our new vet! read more

The next visit was for teeth cleaning and then lastly for her annual. The staff is always friendly and caring and genuinely seem to love animals. For over 20 years, BSAC has always gone above and beyond for my 4 dogs and me! When I had a dog that needed specialty care for Canine Cushings, they treated him and me with great compassion and consideration. It's very difficult and costly to treat but they did everything possible to save me money. Besides being more affordable than the corporate vet practice Arboretum View Animal Hospital in Aurora, they were way more humane and gentle. This is a pretty difficult review to write. If I could give 0 stars I would. We have taken our animals to Boughton Square for years. The doctors were always kind, the charges were pricey but it was convenient because we live in Bolingbrook. On Thursday evening our baby, Pumpkin, was just not acting right so I phoned Boughton Square at exactly 8:00am on Friday and made an Appt. for 10:30. 30 minutes later I noticed that she had become lethargic, limp and just very sick. I called the clinic to ask if I could bring her in immediately. I was told that a doctor wouldn't be there until 9am. Mind you, at this point, I am pretty hysterical and crying. I told her I could be there right at 9. She informed me that I could be there but there would be 4 people ahead of me so I would have to wait. I had a friend that had recently switched from Boughton to another vet close by in Naperville. Care Animal Clinic. They had me come in immediately. To make a very long very sad story short. Once they ran tests, they found that she was in advanced Kidney failure. CHF as well. While the Dr. was examining her she had a seizure. She had another about 40 minutes later. She had a total of 4 seizures that we know of. It was a very long day and I am sad to say that we lost our sweet Pumpkin that day. Pumpkin was my foster failure. She was loved beyond words. I will never understand how I was treated on the phone that day. The one positive that came out of this is I have found an unbelievably compassionate Veterinarian office. Dr.s took such care with us. They spent an enormous amount of time with both pumpkin and my family. The office staff and Techs are one of a kind. I hope that this review is not just brushed off but used by Boughton to educate their staff and perhaps educate the person that is answering their phones to have a little bit more compassion. I certainly pray that this never happens to anyone else. read more

We have been going to Boughton Square Animal Clinic for 30 years and have never, ever had a bad experience. We appreciate that Dr. Graske is honest and compasstionate and never, ever pushed into some expensive over the top test that could not help our pets. He has always "gone the extra mile" for my furry family. Our dog, Akai is very timid and he always takes extra time with her so that she relaxes. We have bought all of our pets there over the years ( 7 cats, 4 dogs). I recommend him to anyone who is looking for a vet. I hope he never retires! read more
