Excellent dinner! Not many places around to get French food and this place came through! I crave French Onion Soup and no other place locally has hit the spot, this place did! Can't wait to go back and tey their brunch next! Cute interior, very inviting. Nice selection of French Wines and Champagnes. The offer most of their wines by the glass and Champagnes by the half-bottle which is very nice when you are out as a party of two We started with a half-bottle of Champagne, few apprtizers, and bread/butter. The baguette and French butter could have been my meal, so fresh and delicious! We ordered Escargots, Terrine, and French Onion Soup. Terrine waa a mix of Duck and Pork, it waa okay but the other starters were excellent! Our Champagne; Lauren Perrier, wad smooth and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Paired well with our starters! We ordered and shared an order of Boeuf Bourgiignon, plenty for two with our starters, and finished off with the Chocolate Souffle. Service was excellent. Our server, Sylvan, was very attentive. Bringing us fresh dishes and flatware with each course. Checking on us. Pouring our champagne. Excited to go back. Destroying something with fries next visit, they looked so good as we saw tgem served to other tables! I also want to try out their bakery next store!

Still a great French place in OC for me. Great service and great vibe. Foods are also great too (some can be a miss or just AOK). Parking can be tough but early or late in the day, then you shouldn't have any problem. Price range is reasonable. Love the baguette here with the butter...just yum and I can have this for the whole meal, non stop for sure w: a cup of cappuccino or with champagne or a bottle of wine. So glad I stopped by and had a wonderful Friday dinner here...can't wait to go back.

We went to Moulin for our anniversary! I've been here before many years ago, and wanted to go again! I love the bakery. I made a reservation for 5:30 and the restaurant was fairly empty, but eventually filled up by around 6pm! The vibes inside are like french bistro! The service was great! Our waiter checked in on us the appropriate amount and was very kind! We ordered escargots to start and they were well cooked and buttery! I got the mussels and fries. They gave so many mussels and a lot of fries. The mussels were in a delicious white wine broth. My partner got the steak au poivre and it was cooked extremely well. Super tender! We ended our meal with the profiteroles which we saw seemed to be the star dessert on yelp! It was refreshing and the chocolate seemed to be as if they made it themselves! I definitely recommend coming here and can't wait for my next visit!

One of my favorite French restaurants in OC! I've been here a couple of times now, and every visit has been consistently excellent. If you're looking for an authentic French restaurant, this is definitely one to try. The staff is fantastic, friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The food is absolutely delicious, and you can really taste the quality and authenticity in every dish. And please, do yourself a favor and try the French butter and bread. It sounds simple, but it's incredible! This is what a French restaurant should be: great food, excellent service, and an authentic atmosphere. I'll definitely be back again!

The beauty of international travel is being able to explore culture through its food. I went on 2.5week trip to France last year and grew a new appreciation for the French cuisine. Once I return to the states, I was always on the lookout for authentic French food which I became a keenly aware pretty quickly is a rare find even in Southern California. I was relieved to stumble upon bouillon in Newport Beach. The name alone says it all and seeing a boulangerie around the corner quickly won my heart. Walking into bouillon felt like walking into cafe in Paris. From the signage, chairs and iron tables I was quickly transported back. Reviewing the menu, I quickly knew I was in the right spot and giggled with excitement. I ordered all my favorite straight away; escargot, steak tartare with frites (you must add the egg yolk!), lyonnaise salad (on the menu it's listed as Salade Frisée aux lardon, lyonnaise is a regional name but I know the ingredients), a bottle of Sancerre, soufflé and two espresso. The meal was fantastic, so elegant, refined but made with simple ingredients you can taste. The service was leisurely and impeccable, the waitress was so knowledgeable and welcoming. Most people in the OC are more familiar with the chain bakery Moulin which serves French quick fair but the star of the show is certainly bouillon. They have a fabulous menu for those that missing truly authentic or for folks interested to try new French meals . Great selection of wines from different French regions that are affordable (in France is not about the price tag but more on the region it grew from). Stop by for a quick bite or stay for the long French lunch / dinner. Bon appétit, et vive la gastronomie!

I enjoyed the atmosphere of this spot, it's very welcoming as soon as you enter. Service was super attentive and friendly. The food was great. We ordered: steak frites 2x, soufflé, beef pasta for $116. Overall, we had a very enjoyable dinner and look forward to returning.

Went to a dinner with coworkers. It was so delicious!!! This place is hidden in a plaza next to the freeway. Easy parking, quiet area. When you walk in you feel like you're in a cute place in Paris! The server was kind and told us what the weekly fish special was. Excellent service, quick turnaround time, and GREAT plating skills. Absolutely divine and will be back soon

Cute French eatery with delicious meals and wine! Bouillon moulin is a sit down restaurant next to the moulin bakery. Casual atmosphere with lots of table seating. Menu has classic French dishes and wine. For starters we got a terrine, for the main I got the trout and hubby got the duck. We also got wine and apple tart for dessert. Terrine (8/10)-love the meat pate did not have a funk and fresh, good protein starter Trout (9/10)-crispy skin with lots of almonds very light, bit too much almond but fish was fresh Duck (8.5/10)-sauce was a bit sweet but duck was cooked well Apple tart (9/10)-Apple tart with ice cream was a delightful end just wish there was more ice cream Overall portions are not too large price is up there but it's worth it for a causal French. Would love to try the beef dishes next time

I had really been craving French onion soup and was hoping this one might taste similar to what I've had in France. Unfortunately, I didn't care for it at all. I absolutely love Moulin, especially their pastries and grab and go items, and I've always had great experiences there, but the soup was just not good. The fresh baguette was amazing, but that was the only highlight. My mom ordered the French onion soup as well and felt the same way. I would probably pass on the soup.

I'd gladly give this place a 4.5 stars review. It is cute, friendly, and tasty. We had some drinks prior to our dinner while waiting for our friends. We ordered mussels, liver pate, escargot, 2 salads, beef tartar for appetizers Everything was delicious! Main: salmon, steak, duck, and cod/ we also tried the chocolate soufflé and 2 other desserts that I can't remember the name. I'll be back again

We loved everything about our lunch at Bouillon. Cutest diner with all things French. Loving the furnishings and decor, that you can actually purchase at their little shop down the walkway. Let me tell you about it. The bread basket - was divine. It came with French butter too. Served warm and that rustic crunchy crust was perfect. I'm convinced you can survive on bread and butter. However, we didn't stop here. Salad frisée aux pardons - frisée lettuce, smoked bacon, one poached egg, croutons, sherry vinaigrette - a beautiful blend of fatty proteins which helps the mineral absorption of the vegetables. Tartare du saumon - salmon tartare with avocado, capers, cornichons, yuzu mayo, scallions, and micro herbs. Served with toasted baguette. Loved every bite. Les moules mariniere - mussels in white wine butter shallots, garlic and parsley broth. Served with fries. Typical French dish that should always be ordered. I think the broth would have been awesome with an extra side of angel hair or any pasta. Husband and I don't like to see anything food wasted, especially this! Delicious! Truite amandine - seared fresh trout, served with green beans, steamed potatoes, and meuniere almond sauce. Very balanced and healthy. Terrine de campagne - homemade pork and duck pate, served with cornichons, pickled shallots, toasted baguette slices. There is nothing better than homemade pate, nothing! For dessert, we chose the cheese plate, with grapes, walnuts, fig jam, toasted baguette. We paired all this with some Bordeaux. C'est magnifique! Truly a meal to remember. We will be coming back sooner rather than later!

Food was overall very good. We ordered French onion soup, salmon tartare, deviled eggs, and mussels in white wine broth to start. Every dish was savory and tasty, but they can also be more on the rich side because they use more butter and cream- which is understandable for French cuisine. For our main dishes, we had steak frites, salmon and chicken entrees. Steak was tender and cooked perfectly, and both the salmon and chicken entrees were moist and flavorful. My only callout would be that I wished the salmon wasn't sitting in so much tomato sauce. We also had profiteroles and chocolate soufflé for dessert, and they were so decadent and delicious! Service was great. Our waiter was very nice, polite and attentive despite having to wait on so many other tables around us. Ambience was interesting because it can be quite charming with all the French artworks and decorations, but yet it didn't feel cozy. The building space seemed like it could've been for an office or a shop. Also, some of the tables were very close together with seats lined against the walls, so it was a bit uncomfortable sitting so close to other diners. Price and portion sizes were very fair. I would definitely come back next time I'm in the area to try other dishes.

Cute little French restaurant with outdoor seatings...right next to Moulin. Tried their steak and "special of the day" scallop. The steak was amazing with their sauce. The scallops were nicely seasoned but the rice was a bit much and I felt didn't go well with the scallops. Overall, great place for lunch..you can walk over to moulin for desserts or pastries afterwards :)

I will say the espresso martini was not 5 star, but other drinks were good. We tried the blood orange marg, the spicy strawberry marg, and the cowboy marg. My mom liked the blood orange but the second round did not taste the same as the first. A bit of a consistency issue but she nursed it and finished it. My favorite drink was the cowboy marg. It was on the sweeter side but refreshing. For food. We had an assortment. Standouts were the steak dinner and onion rings! I would come back to try other things. The short rib grilled cheese was mid, but would be great to soak up alcohol. Cassidy was an excellent server, even as it got really busy for a UFC fight. Ambiance is definitely fun and unique. Generally, the experience was good. I would give it another shot to try other food and drinks.

But I was caught off guard by the lack of music and overall how quiet the whole place was. I went on a Friday and there weren't many people there, which isn't bad just something I had noticed. Very stark comparison to the other breweries in the area, which were much more lively. The beers itself were decent; however, there were no prices posted anywhere on the chalk menu, or the paper menu from what I saw. I ordered 2 drinks, one of which needed to have the keg replaced. When the attendant returned she said they were actually completely out, but the drink I had ordered was a double IPA, and without any prices posted or itemized receipt, I wasn't sure what I was able to get instead. The attendant then tells me "if you get something cheaper, I won't change the price" which confused me. A double IPA is typically more expensive than a regular beer or seltzer and she didn't even offer a refund to compensate for the fact that it was sold out and I had already paid for it. This could have been mitigated if the prices were available or she offered me an itemized receipt. For 2 beers I paid $20 before tipping. As a customer I'd like to be informed of what I'm getting charged for, and if I'm charged for something more and given less, I'd like a partial refund. In the end I got my beers and sat down. The brewery itself doesn't serve food, so it was nice being able to bring my own food and est what I want. Again, up until 30 minutes of being there, no music was playing, so very off putting vibe. Overall, I did not enjoy my experience here and don't recommend anyone coming here when other breweries are in tbe area and much more clear with pricing and have a more lively vibe.
