Cute French eatery with delicious meals and wine! Bouillon moulin is a sit down restaurant next to the moulin bakery. Casual atmosphere with lots of table seating. Menu has classic French dishes and wine. For starters we got a terrine, for the main I got the trout and hubby got the duck. We also got wine and apple tart for dessert. Terrine (8/10)-love the meat pate did not have a funk and fresh, good protein starter Trout (9/10)-crispy skin with lots of almonds very light, bit too much almond but fish was fresh Duck (8.5/10)-sauce was a bit sweet but duck was cooked well Apple tart (9/10)-Apple tart with ice cream was a delightful end just wish there was more ice cream Overall portions are not too large price is up there but it's worth it for a causal French. Would love to try the beef dishes next time

I'd gladly give this place a 4.5 stars review. It is cute, friendly, and tasty. We had some drinks prior to our dinner while waiting for our friends. We ordered mussels, liver pate, escargot, 2 salads, beef tartar for appetizers Everything was delicious! Main: salmon, steak, duck, and cod/ we also tried the chocolate soufflé and 2 other desserts that I can't remember the name. I'll be back again

We loved everything about our lunch at Bouillon. Cutest diner with all things French. Loving the furnishings and decor, that you can actually purchase at their little shop down the walkway. Let me tell you about it. The bread basket - was divine. It came with French butter too. Served warm and that rustic crunchy crust was perfect. I'm convinced you can survive on bread and butter. However, we didn't stop here. Salad frisée aux pardons - frisée lettuce, smoked bacon, one poached egg, croutons, sherry vinaigrette - a beautiful blend of fatty proteins which helps the mineral absorption of the vegetables. Tartare du saumon - salmon tartare with avocado, capers, cornichons, yuzu mayo, scallions, and micro herbs. Served with toasted baguette. Loved every bite. Les moules mariniere - mussels in white wine butter shallots, garlic and parsley broth. Served with fries. Typical French dish that should always be ordered. I think the broth would have been awesome with an extra side of angel hair or any pasta. Husband and I don't like to see anything food wasted, especially this! Delicious! Truite amandine - seared fresh trout, served with green beans, steamed potatoes, and meuniere almond sauce. Very balanced and healthy. Terrine de campagne - homemade pork and duck pate, served with cornichons, pickled shallots, toasted baguette slices. There is nothing better than homemade pate, nothing! For dessert, we chose the cheese plate, with grapes, walnuts, fig jam, toasted baguette. We paired all this with some Bordeaux. C'est magnifique! Truly a meal to remember. We will be coming back sooner rather than later!

Food was overall very good. We ordered French onion soup, salmon tartare, deviled eggs, and mussels in white wine broth to start. Every dish was savory and tasty, but they can also be more on the rich side because they use more butter and cream- which is understandable for French cuisine. For our main dishes, we had steak frites, salmon and chicken entrees. Steak was tender and cooked perfectly, and both the salmon and chicken entrees were moist and flavorful. My only callout would be that I wished the salmon wasn't sitting in so much tomato sauce. We also had profiteroles and chocolate soufflé for dessert, and they were so decadent and delicious! Service was great. Our waiter was very nice, polite and attentive despite having to wait on so many other tables around us. Ambience was interesting because it can be quite charming with all the French artworks and decorations, but yet it didn't feel cozy. The building space seemed like it could've been for an office or a shop. Also, some of the tables were very close together with seats lined against the walls, so it was a bit uncomfortable sitting so close to other diners. Price and portion sizes were very fair. I would definitely come back next time I'm in the area to try other dishes.

Cute little French restaurant with outdoor seatings...right next to Moulin. Tried their steak and "special of the day" scallop. The steak was amazing with their sauce. The scallops were nicely seasoned but the rice was a bit much and I felt didn't go well with the scallops. Overall, great place for lunch..you can walk over to moulin for desserts or pastries afterwards :)

Moulin has taken over multiple storefronts in the plaza, each with its own vibe. For example, there's a bakery/grocer where you can grab sandwiches and buy French imports like butter, foie gras, and other specialty items. On this visit, I tried Bouillon, which is their more classic French fare concept in a cute, artsy, diner-style space that genuinely feels like a little escape back to Paris. Service was impeccable-super friendly staff who checked in just the right amount without ever feeling overbearing. Food breakdown: Escargot: 7/10 Good overall, but there was something slightly off for me that I can't fully place. It had a subtle sweetness that leaned a bit away from the classic parsley-garlic profile I'm used to. Still enjoyable, just a bit different from what I expected. French Onion Soup: 8/10 Really well executed. Deep, rich, and flavourful broth with a generous amount of onion. Lapin (Rabbit): 6.5/10 Not something you see often on menus. The rabbit itself was cooked perfectly, but the overall dish felt a bit underwhelming in flavour. The accompaniments didn't add much, and the portion didn't quite justify the price. Still good, but probably not something I'd reorder. Canard (Duck): 9/10 Easily the standout of the meal. One of the best takes on duck a l'orange I've had. Confit-style duck with perfectly crispy skin and meat that fell off the bone. The sides were also incredible and complemented it really well. This was the highlight of the meal.

    Great job Marcus!!!

Dinner was so delish! It's been too long. We ordered the French Soup and Escargot for appetizers; Rack of Lamb & the beef stew with noodle (-I can't pronounce it) for entrees. Soufflé with coffee for desserts. Yum! Great service from Fatima who was on top of everything for the fabulous experience. That was the extra star! The place was clean and it was an excellent choice for dinner. Besides, the FIFA games were in two huge screen monitors! Go USA & Mexico!

Saddest escargot I've ever had - virtually no oil or garlic. Had to pay for the baguette, didn't come with it

Came here for a weekday lunch and while the servers were nice and I especially enjoyed one dish, I'm not sure if I'd go here again over trying out a new/different local French spot. I enjoyed being able to have Kir Royal and their Pouilly-Fuisse was good (but why no options for a Chablis?), but their escargot came with the SMALLEST amount of oil and garlic and didn't even come with slices of baguette until I asked - and was then charged extra for it. How shameful! Their salmon tartare was delicious but having an underwhelming and disappointing escargot ruined this spot for me. Also, the overhead bar lights are WAY too bright - I'm trying to eat and read, not perform open heart surgery.

The food here is absolutely amazing. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, and it was a pleasant surprise that they ALL speak French, which really adds to the authenticity of the experience. This is definitely a must-try spot for French cuisine. The prices are reasonable, the location is convenient, and there is plenty of parking available. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with artwork from France, creating a warm and authentic ambiance that makes the dining experience even more enjoyable. I had a wonderful experience and will definitely be visiting again soon. Pro tip: Call in for reservations and/or to gauge how busy. This is part of the Resy Group so you if you have credit cards benefits they should work here!

My family lived in Paris for a while, so we absolutely love French food. Lately, we've been obsessed with this place called Bouillon Newport--it's the authentic French bistro in OC. The overall restaurant design replicates the classic Parisian Bouillon style. From what the staff told us, all the dishes are made with fresh ingredients purchased daily, prepared on the spot, and they sell out once they're gone! That's why they're known as "the Best Traditional French Restaurant in OC." The service is also incredibly thoughtful, genuine, and welcoming. Everyone on staff speaks French. This time we tried the Confit de Canard (tender and juicy), Escargots, Leg de Lapin, Beef Bourguignon (the tagliatelle it came with was so flavorful), Steak Frites (served with either pepper sauce or Bearnaise sauce), and the Salmon. Everything was delicious! Even the pre-service bread was amazing. The prices are really reasonable too. Five of us dined for $185, which offers great value for money.

Came with my girlfriends to celebrate a birthday. Service was friendly and food was good. There was live music with a keyboard player and a vocalist. They have delicious French butter with the bread basket (paid item). I enjoyed the escargot (no shell), the duck, and the steak frittes (I like it medium rare). My girlfriends ordered other items which they seemed to enjoy. We brought our own birthday cake but found out they charged per person for bringing your own cake, so we opted not to have the cake at the restaurant.

Dinner at Moulin Bouillon felt like stepping into a neighborhood bistro in Paris--right down to the French waitstaff, effortless hospitality, and unapologetically classic execution. All that was missing was me butchering the language while ordering (which I absolutely did). We ordered across savory and sweet, and every dish stayed true to traditional French technique. The steak frites with butter was simple, indulgent, and executed exactly as it should be--perfectly cooked steak, rich butter, crisp fries. No reinvention needed when something is already perfect. The trout amandin was delicate and refined, with thoughtful execution that let the fish shine. Understated in the best way--quietly excellent. Dessert delivered. The profiteroles were light with just the right richness from the dark chocolate, while the pavlova was airy, balanced, and not overly sweet--an elegant finish that didn't leave us in a sugar coma. Service was excellent throughout, polished without feeling stuffy. Would absolutely return to work my way through more of the menu (and maybe improve my French pronunciation while I'm at it).

Had the Le Steak au Poivre and it was excellent. The restaurant itself is very French Brasserie. Service was impeccable. I highly recommend!

But I was caught off guard by the lack of music and overall how quiet the whole place was. I went on a Friday and there weren't many people there, which isn't bad just something I had noticed. Very stark comparison to the other breweries in the area, which were much more lively. The beers itself were decent; however, there were no prices posted anywhere on the chalk menu, or the paper menu from what I saw. I ordered 2 drinks, one of which needed to have the keg replaced. When the attendant returned she said they were actually completely out, but the drink I had ordered was a double IPA, and without any prices posted or itemized receipt, I wasn't sure what I was able to get instead. The attendant then tells me "if you get something cheaper, I won't change the price" which confused me. A double IPA is typically more expensive than a regular beer or seltzer and she didn't even offer a refund to compensate for the fact that it was sold out and I had already paid for it. This could have been mitigated if the prices were available or she offered me an itemized receipt. For 2 beers I paid $20 before tipping. As a customer I'd like to be informed of what I'm getting charged for, and if I'm charged for something more and given less, I'd like a partial refund. In the end I got my beers and sat down. The brewery itself doesn't serve food, so it was nice being able to bring my own food and est what I want. Again, up until 30 minutes of being there, no music was playing, so very off putting vibe. Overall, I did not enjoy my experience here and don't recommend anyone coming here when other breweries are in tbe area and much more clear with pricing and have a more lively vibe.

I am not criticizing the concept itself because I've been to places that have done this casual dining concept before but the hostess seemed dismissive and inattentive to the fact we have never been here. She told us to sit ourselves which we did in the back patio. We then realized there were no waiters to serve us menus so we then walked all the way back to retrieve them. Once we decided what we wanted to eat, we once again walked all the way back to place our orders. It took a while to actually get settled. The back patio seating was awful because the tables were wobbly and the chairs were at all different heights. It felt like I was at a backyard cookout at someone's house. We switched to indoor seating shortly after. The food itself was good but not memorable. I've had better smash burgers, broccolini, fries, wings, and Caesar salads at other places. The best thing was probably the rigatoni which I'd rate a 8/10 while the others were probably a 6/10. There is an upstairs bar area which was very cute. However, when we tried placing our drinks orders to the bartender downstairs he said one of the drinks was only able to be ordered upstairs. When we proceeded to go upstairs, the bartender then said we couldn't bring the drink downstairs. As you can see, there was a lot of unnecessary walking throughout our experience. The service was nonexistent per its concept. But even with the little interactions we had with the staff, it seemed like they were very indifferent to the customers and very little guidance on where to go and what to do. If they improved on their service and were more service oriented I'd consider returning for the cute aesthetic.
