They price everything fairly and usually quote us lower than some of the other ones in the area. We have made appointments with just about every vet at this location and they are all extremely experienced, caring and knowledgeable. Unfortunately a couple years ago we had to put our dog down and if you've ever had to euthanize a pet you know how hard it is. We were able to go into a private room that had been set up to feel more like a room in your home, it didn't feel medical. There was a couch, carpet and tables. It felt like they went above and beyond to make us as comfortable as possible, which we really appreciated. Afterwards, they let us stay in there as long as we need to. A week or so later we received a card from the entire staff and a clay footprint from our dog. They really do care about you and it shows.

When you sit down with a vet, they seem to be out to lunch. They don't engage with any videos you show them, don't put much stock in your perspective or concerns as a pet owner. They ask very few questions and rush to end the appointment without considering the animal's overall medical history. The vet barely speaks to you, as the human. Spends the whole time cooing over how cute the pet is, talking to the pet, to the point where it's difficult to even get a word in edge wise. Frankly, it seems like a patronizing and deliberate tactic to avoid answering questions. They suck up all the air in the room trying to make you and your pet feel so cute and special, but when you finally do get an opportunity to ask a question, the vet seems annoyed, the response is quick, thoughtless, and non-committal. No advice given, doesn't seem concerned, doesn't take things seriously. The vet chuckles and tosses out a boiler plate response with no professional recommendation. Doesn't ask if you have any more questions, just goes right back to baby talk with the animal. It honestly seems like they don't know what they're doing. I came here looking for professional advice and I feel we were coddled, manipulated, patted on the head, and sent out the door. I got home and realized the side effects of the treatment my cat received were much worse than expected... and really common. The vet told us nothing about them. At this point, googling things is more useful than going to Aspen Arbor. And way less expensive. And I don't close my phone feeling like I just got scammed. After reading other reviews, it seems that condescension, misdiagnosis, poor comprehension, inadequate communication, and failure to take things seriously are common practice here. And it sounds like they've killed a couple pets as a result. Oh and lastly, when you get there, the doors don't have buttons. The two front desk agents will sit there and watch you as you struggle to get the doors open. We obviously are done here and will be transferring our medical records to Care Animal Hospital.

I had her seeing my cats for a year, I changed my days to fit her schedule, then she decided to join another practice and when confronted about us not being able to continue to constantly changing the day she just up and cancelled all our very sick animals appointments. She acts like she knows everything, and because she's considered the only holistic vet in Boulder has a long waitlist which she always uses as leverage. Her heart is not invested in treating the animals, she rushes the acupuncture, barely does chiropractic adjustments and charges way too much as she continuously minimizes the appointment time, She left 3 very ill pets hanging as she joined Lap of Love. I told her I would use Lap of Love when it came time to put my babies down and she still just left me hanging. She is out of integrity and takes advantage of people's money for the care that she delivers. I DO NOT RECOMMEND, thank god I was already looking for someone else and found an amazing practitioner that has outshined her by miles!

What I didn't know was how this service can help his allergies as well (coughing, sneezing, panting). My dog warmed up to Dr. Desi immediately and she took her time explaining everything she was doing throughout her assessment and adjustment. She also helped guide me on how to properly trim and file his nails (to be honest I was terrified to do them myself and would rely on the vet or groomer to do them for us). What a difference one adjustment made! After YEARS of allergies, his coughing and sneezing has decreased dramatically over the course of a week (and after only one adjustment). He is also running and playing like he is a puppy again! I haven't seen him this energetic in a long time. I was honestly a little skeptical of this therapy when my vet recommended it to me. After seeing the results first hand, I am a firm believer that canine chiropractic care (in the hands of an experienced doctor) can make a world of difference in the lives of our four-legged family members and I specifically recommend Dr. Desi. My only regret is not calling her sooner :)

I flew with Moo from Tennessee to California and then to Colorado specifically to have her evaluated at CSU because we were desperately hoping she might be a candidate for TEER heart surgery. Unfortunately, because of her tiny size and the anatomy of her mitral valve, the procedure ultimately wasn't safe for her. As heartbreaking as that was, what I will never forget is how incredibly thorough, compassionate, and determined this team was to help her. We returned for evaluations over four consecutive days because they genuinely wanted to understand what was happening with Moo--not simply assume that every breathing problem she was having was caused by her heart disease. They performed extensive cardiac testing, imaging, bloodwork, and additional diagnostics and recognized that some of her symptoms appeared to be coming from respiratory disease rather than congestive heart failure alone. They adjusted her medications accordingly, reduced a diuretic that appeared to be contributing to dehydration and electrolyte abnormalities, prescribed albuterol for her breathing episodes, and gave me a much clearer understanding of what we were dealing with and what Moo needed going forward. I truly believe the care and insight we received at CSU helped give Moo approximately six more months of life with me, and there are no words for what those six months meant. But what made this team extraordinary went far beyond their medical expertise. They treated Moo like she mattered. They listened to me. They took my concerns seriously. They were kind, patient, thoughtful, and incredibly careful with my tiny girl. I never felt like we were being rushed out the door or that anyone was giving up on figuring out how to help her. When Moo eventually passed away, Dr. Tan sent me the sweetest book along with a hand-drawn picture of Moo. I will never forget that kindness. Having encountered very different veterinary experiences both before and since, I think often about how extraordinarily lucky Moo and I were to have this team caring for her. When your animal is your family, you never forget the people who treated them with that level of compassion, diligence, and respect. Dr. Orton, Dr. Tan, Jenn Thomsen, and everyone who cared for Moo at CSU: thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything you did for my sweet, sweet girl. I will always remember the way you cared for her and for me during one of the most frightening times of our lives. God bless all of you.

I brought my dog, Lupo, there during a medical emergency while we were traveling from North Carolina, and what followed was one of the most traumatic experiences of my life. We were already in a state of panic, far from home, trying to make the best decisions we could. Despite that, there was a profound lack of communication, compassion, and transparency throughout his care. We were never offered the option to stay in any rooms, just to rest for a little. Being 45 minutes away while our dog was critically ill created unnecessary distance during the most important moments of his life. The most devastating part is that we were only contacted when things had already taken a severe turn, and that call was not a supportive update, but a frantic, high-pressure conversation where I felt like I was being almost yelled at that he needed to be euthanized immediately. There was no sense of guidance, no compassion just urgency without support. We were not called earlier as he declined, and we were not given a real opportunity to come and be with him in time. Because of this, I lost the chance to have any meaningful final moments with my dog. By the time we were involved, he had been intubated. That was not what I wanted unless it was absolutely necessary as a life-saving measure, and it ultimately robbed me of being able to hold him, comfort him, or say goodbye in a way that had any meaning. That is something I will carry with me forever. When we last saw him, he was placed all the way at the bottom of a cage. It felt impersonal and distressing given how critical his condition was. There was no sense that comfort or dignity in his final moments was being prioritized. To make matters worse, a necropsy (autopsy) was performed without our explicit consent. This was incredibly upsetting and felt like a violation during an already devastating time. The lack of clear communication and consent around something so significant is completely unacceptable. After his passing, the handling of his remains and the lack of communication continued to cause harm. Because of delays and inability to reach anyone, his body was not released to the memorial service we had chosen in time for us to receive his ashes before our flight home. We were forced to extend our stay, rebook flights, and incur additional expenses... all while grieving the loss of our baby. I understand this is a teaching hospital and that not every case has a positive outcome. But communication, compassion, and respect for both the patient and their family should never be optional. At no point did I feel supported, informed, or prioritized as his owner. Lupo was my world. He deserved better. And no family should have to go through what we experienced here. There was no compassion in here. There was only a severe urgency to give us a large bill.
