This was the "Kobe Beef burger" Looks like dog food. Tasted as such.
    Victoria A.

I should have taken the rating to heart and ignored this place altogether, but it was close, and I was really craving a burger. I mean, you can't mess up a burger that badly, right? Boy, was I wrong. I ordered the "Kobe Beef Burger" with cheese...pretty basic. There is absolutely no way this was "Kobe beef" and to be fair, I didn't expect actual Kobe beef at that price point, but figured it would at least be a tasty, juicy burger and that is all I wanted. Ordered it medium rare (the good way), with a side of fries. I waited 20 minutes, which was already a red flag because there was nobody there. The man working the counter was nice, though. I took the burger to go (a 3 minute drive) and when I opened ot up, I couldn't believe how gross the patty looked. It had this gross gray color to it and didnt look appetizing at all. I gave it a taste just to be sure and it was inedible. I spit it out and went somewhere else. Super disappointing. The fries were good, but not enough to make up for the burger. No surprise this place is always empty. I wasted 20 dollars and 20 minutes.

Boulevard Burger cooks up tasty burgers and fries in Castro Valley! The other day, I had a late lunch at Blvd Burger. It was my first time there, so I just went with the Blvd Burger w/ cheese. For an extra $6, I added fries and a drink and ate in the dining room. When I was ordering, the gentleman taking my order kept trying to get me to add more toppings to raise the price of my burger. Bacon? BBQ sauce? Onion Rings? No to all. My Blvd Burger w/ Cheese was over $10 alone. So I grab a table near the window, looking out to the off street parking lot. There's tables outside too. The place has a colorful decor like an old burger joint might have. I got myself some iced tea from the fountain machine. As I waited, I could smell the aroma of burgers frying on a grill. The server arrives with my burger and fries in a basket. When you're at a burger joint, you have to eat the food fresh from the kitchen. The burger is hot and juicy, and the fries are still crispy. My Blvd Burger was delicious! Hot, juicy, and full of flavor. Excellent french fries. Crispy on the outside, and tender soft on the inside. Lightly seasoned, and held up well to ketchup. Okay, your food is very good, but over $18 for a Blvd Burger, Fries, and Drink was a little pricey. Would I return? Maybe, if I had a serious burger craving. ------------------------ Review #2100

I have no idea why this place has such a low rating. This is one excellent burger spot - the buns are soft and homemade tasting, the patties are smashed thin but super flavorful and well balanced, fresh veggies and delicious fries and sauces. Nothing was a miss... I'd definitely return.

Came on a Friday around 6pm and it was great! I would recommend to book the bowling lanes ahead of time online! We ordered the sliders, mozzarella sticks, and the fried onion bloom. The food was good. We bowled for 1 hour and it was amazing would definitely go back great addition to West Sac area !

We ate here last night. It has its own parking lot. That was nice. Also enjoyed the holiday decor. Atmosphere was nice. The workers were nice, but seemed a bit slow. Waited for our food for a bit. The food was only okayyyyy. I think for a burger that costs $13.95 I expected more. The patty seemed small and not as much flavor. I did enjoy the fries though!

Just ordered from here like an hr ago. I got the Bleu Cheese Burger w/a side of onion rings and a soda. I ordered medium rare with added bbq sauce. The onion rings said I can get two dips and I put ranch and chipotle aioli. What I received was a burger with no bbq and was medium. Onion rings that were cold and a few burnt as well as two ranch's. It's like they said screw what you ordered, we're gonna prepare it the way we want! I mean the food wasn't bad but it wasn't how I ordered it. That's very annoying.

We were craving burgers and needed somewhere nearby so we stopped by boulevard burger. It was pretty empty on a weeknight. We got our food pretty quick. The interior is decorated nicely in wood and bright lights. There's a good amount of indoor seating and a few tables for outside as well. There's parking lot itself is fairly small, but the restaurant is located near a residential area and across from a plaza. The burger itself was alright. I got the hot stuff burger and it was pretty greasy. The fried jalapeños were interesting, but there was no spice to it. After eating the burger, my hands were slicked with grease from the burger and I just felt heavy after. Price wise, I'd considered it pretty pricey. My burger was around the $13-15 range and just not worth the price.

This is the best picture I could get because my son never lets me see the burger. He eats it too fast. This is his go to place for a burger. He absolutely loves it. He loves going in ordering. And getting his Kobe burger! He always gets an Oreo milkshake and some chicken tenders too, which are always steaming hot and fresh! Nothing tastes frozen, or old, or like old oil! It's all fresh, crispy and the portions are a perfect size!! Don't get me started on the spicy grilled chicken, sheesh, just go!!!

Terrible service, placed an online order and got the notification that was order was ready. I arrived to the restaurant 10 minutes after the completion time. Order was not ready. The cook behind the counter was very rude. He told me to go sit down and wait for order and as I stated I don't want to sit down he got aggressive and stated I have to sit down until my order is complete due to the walkway needing to be empty for arriving customers. Mind you I've been sitting at the restaurant for the last 15 minutes and still no order is ready. Management needs to talk with their staff very unpleasant visit. Will not be returning back any time soon.

We came here on a weeknight and were not greeted when we walked in. We ordered the bbq bacon burger with a black bean patty with garlic fries and a chili dog with curly fries. With two drinks on top of that and some tip, we ended up paying almost $50. We were pretty shocked at how expensive the meal was for a couple of burgers. My partner said that the chili on the hot dog lacked flavor though the fried jalapeños were different. I can say the same about my black bean burger. The bun wasn't really toasted and it was still lukewarm, and the black bean patty fell apart upon eating it, so I was surprised that this place specializes in burgers. The garlic fries were good, but since we were not particularly impressed by the burger and hot dog, I'm not sure I would be back.

    Fresh delicious mixed green salad.

How big are their burgers? If they are more than 1/3 pounders, can you order a smaller size?

What does this question mean, "if they are more than 1/3 pounders"? Are you anticipating a 3/4 pound burger?

Is your entire order SOGGY everytime you order to go :-/?

No. We tend to eat there, in the patio area, and have never experienced sogginess

I love the New Orleans food scene and therefore had a pretty high bar for Cajun food outside of Louisiana. I came in a little hesitant because I've been disappointed too many times by the options we have in the bay for Cajun food. But after I opened the box and took my first bite of that blackened shrimp Po Boy I could've sworn I thought I was sitting in the French Quarter again. The nice young lady that took my order recommended the blackened shrimp as an underrated choice on the po boys so I had to try it out. I came stuffed with a Red wine coleslaw, tomatoes, pickle slices and a drizzle of their special sauce (that I can only describe as spicy cajun mayo). 12/10 and I'm not exaggerating I also had a side (and when I say side take it with a grain of salt cause this feeds like 3 people for being a side) of the fresh Crab fries. Not overdone with the ingredients yet what a powerful hit of flavor, the Cajun seasoning usually comes out a bit salty on fries but these guys figured out how to balance it with the fresh shredded crab on top, garnished off with some green onion and more special sauce, this thing made me look around the room to see if anyone else was reacting like this over the food. (And they were! People were sitting there talking about "last time I tried ___ and ___ and it was fire") In the end I saw a guy that looked very proud to be there and was helping around the place while running back to his computer, that was Brett, the owner. I had to go and shake the man's hand and pick his mind a bit. He's a born and raised in New Orleans guy and you could tell by his kindness and southern hospitality. (Dude gave me a delicious carrot cake to go) Unfortunately in the end I had to walk back out into the reminder that I was in Castro valley and not New Orleans but for minute I was able to remember everything that had previously experienced from my trips there and that's what a great meal should do for you. His city should be proud of what he created here. I will absolutely be back to work my way through the full menu and add more pics to this review.

The batter and crunch from the fish and shrimp was delicious. I didn't finish my grist and had them the next day and just as good. The beignets were very dense and not light on the inside, maybe skip those next time. The brown sugar lemonade was on point!! Would recommend for a brunch date on a the weekends. Place is spacious, lively, dimly lit with music playing at a level you can have a conversation. Table ordered a steak sandwich with salad, cheese sandwich with tomato soup and a five-spice pork ragu over polenta. We all enjoyed our dishes. Food is 3.5-4/5 stars and would like to see a bit more to keep it interesting but know their kitchen setup is limited. No wine with this visit. Dessert: Orange brownie was simple with orange zest and the Hawaiian bread pudding was different and flavorful. Good to see the place bustling and look forward to future rotating pop up events. Got a chance to talk to the owner, Stacey as I recognized her from the Eats by E event the week prior. My bad, didn't know she was the owner of Cordial Cellar & Lounge but all good as she was super welcoming, friendly and was very accommodating when asked if we could pay for our own dishes separately. At the end of the evening perused the Olive & Finn Boutique and quickly welcomed by Jackie who was explaining items like the handmade jewelry and some hand stitched clothing. Such cute items and will visit another time. Recommend Cordial Cellar & Lounge for a date night, special group outing or relax and listen to some music. They are a great snack while you wait for your meal. 9/10 - The ube pancakes: These were pretty solid. I didn't think that the pancakes themselves had a very strong ube flavor, if any. I think all of the flavor was in the ube coconut sauce that they come with. However, there is only sauce on the first layer so you might want to get extra! It is an additional $2.75 or so to get the extra side of ube sauce, though. The pancakes themselves could have been a little more moist and fluffy, as they were a bit dry and dense. I loved the fruit and sauce, so that definitely made up for it! I'm glad that I got to try, but I don't think I'd get them again. Instead, I would get a regular pancake and a side of the ube coconut cream! 8/10 - The chorizo burrito: My bf said that this was also a pretty good option.
