Exactly what I expect from a cafe. Their menu has all the breakfast essentials and some nice lunch items. I had the French toast and they were great. All I have to say is Chile verde burrito. I've strayed one time and ordered the California Burrito which was also tasty but I always come back to the Chile verde burrito. There might bigger, fancier looking burritos out there but this one has that flavor dialed in and I've yet to find one that compares in the AV. Not too hot and not too mild. How did we miss this hidden gem!!!! It's been here almost 3 years! It's only open for breakfast/ lunch. I had the waffle breakfast, hubby had the sourdough grilled sandwich and was yummy. The entire menu was very appealing. Food was great, coffee was good, but the service really did it for me!! Our waitress Joy was on top of it!! The pancakes were okay, a little hard around the edges. The younger female waitress was friendly. If you want the type of staff relationship where the waitresses know your name and your regular order, come here. They are used to the same people coming every morning which is a nice thing. I ordered only a short stack, $4.25. I believed she gave me my friends order because it had 2 pancakes with an egg laying on it. To the older woman who likes to talk about how much Spanish she knows, I asked if my short stack came with eggs. Hesitantly, she looked and said yes. She then walked away. Then from across the room, "but you still have to pay for the eggs sweetie. When you ordered you didn't ask for it without the eggs. So enjoy it" The problem isn't that I don't eat eggs or didn't want them, but to insinuate I wouldn't pay for it and yell that across the room in a restaurant of people was rude. I just ordered a short stack, literally said "a short stack, thats it". On the "from the griddle" section it does not say anything about sides. For you reading this, your pancakes may come with eggs. I came in today for breakfast and had the chilaquiles in red salsa and they were awesome! They came with two over easy eggs on top, beans and home fries on the side, and sour cream. Food is ok. They have a Mexican food section but it's not authentic at all, beans seem like out of a can and Salsa on the huevo rancheros was like pail orange... Service was great. Place is quiet. Found them through yelp. You won't know the place exist. First time there we waited for our food for a long time. Pancakes were served first instead with our beeakfast. My mother's order was wrong. They admitted to their mistake and didn't charge my mom's order. That was appreciated. Food is good. This is a great place here in the Antelope Valley. One of my signs that a restaurant is quality is the bathrooms. If they are dirty,expect the whole place is. This place has bathrooms so clean you can eat in there it's just that spotless. The food is excellent and the servers are top notch. Jovial from your entry in to your exit out. They actually serve you like traditional old school style restaurants did back in the day. The place is open and airy and you don't feel smothered by others patrons encroaching on your space. They have a counter too if you enjoy talking with servers. They fully engage you into conversation. A super place for breakfast! Gotta love mom & pop for you restaurant stops. read more
