Going to diners on the weekend can be hit or miss regarding how busy they are, especially in North Bergen.  When I arrived around 11:00, every table but one was taken.  Perfect! By the time I left, around noon it was much less crowded. Atmosphere: The Boulevard Diner is everything you expect in a diner. The outside is modern, while the inside has plenty of booths, tables, and a full-length bar.  There is also an alcohol bar which is more common in North Jersey than south.  Coffee: The coffee was brewed hot and fresh, and the waitress brought a few refills.  There was nothing to write home about, but it was good coffee.  Not that I should have drunk as much as I did since I was on a road trip.  Food: There is everything you can imagine at the Boulevard Diner.  There are plenty of breakfast options, as well as healthy lunch options, and of course dinners such as seafood and steak.  I decided to order the steak and eggs.  Sometimes diner steak is awful, and sometimes it's good.   Luckily this was not only good but the best diner steak I've personally had.  The portion for a breakfast steak was also huge!  It was cooked medium rare as requested with two over easy eggs.  It was definitely one of the best breakfasts I've had in a while. Today I went to a diner around me called the Boulevard Diner. I decided to go late at night because my friend and I were were craving something sweet. We saw that they had many options and one of the options were a brownie with ice cream and the other item was cheesecake. When you go to a diner you don't expect for the desert stuff to be amazing but it was really one of the best deserts I have ever tried. They were quick with the service got seated very quickly and was very polite. The brownie was at a good temperature and with the ice cream it just all came together. With the cheesecake it was nice and fluffy also really creamy. I would definitely recommend this diner to anyone who is interested in trying something new or just craving some dessert! read more

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE AVOID AVOID AVOID Have a big project due for work so pulling late nights with my colleagues. We get hungry at 3 am but have a mountain of things to do so we decide to do takeout. This was one of the only places open in the area. We ordered a cheeseburger deluxe, breakfast deluxe 3 and corned beef hash with 2 eggs. I arrive promptly 20 minutes later to pick up the food. When I get back to dig in, I notice my corned beef hash has this odd smell. I tried one bite and I am regretting it so much. It tasted wild and I had to confirm so I had my two colleagues also try it and they both agree that it was spoiled. The burger wasn't spoiled but was subpar. Super soggy and lacked basic seasoning. Breakfast deluxe had soggy bacon, soggy sausage (absolutely no snap), soggy potatoes, and overcooked eggs. As this location is only 5 minutes away, I stopped by to get a refund on the spoiled food. It was an older gentleman at the counter this time and when I explained my situation, he said wait and went to the back. The same man as when I picked up the food came out and I explained about the spoiled corned beef hash. He refused to give me a refund. He keeps insisting I order something else. I EXPLAINED to him that I didn't want to get more food from a place that just gave me spoiled food. He says he's not the manager so he can't refund me but he can exchange it. I really didn't want anymore food and didn't want to waste more time so I took some drinks. Horrible customer service and total waste of money. Wouldn't recommend to anyone. To the response below... My review is 100% authentic. It is the correct diner. I had an older male server (I usually don't like giving descriptions but he had Kyphosis. A curved spine/rounded back), and the male that WAS bussing tables behind us was a younger Hispanic male with short black hair. I have no reason to lie considering I was in town visiting from San Diego. Therefore, I have nothing to gain by falsifying and/or fabricating my experience at this diner. I will not argue with you or anybody else. In short... Three (3) of us were there. I wasn't even the one who suggested NOT eating there (though I happily obliged). I wrote the review and had each of them read it out load themselves to ensure my recollection of the events that transpired that night were as close to the truth as possible. They approved (& both added to this post as well). We kept it short, straight to the point, honest, and very cordial considering what happened. It's unfortunate that you felt the need to throw "fake yelp review" out there, but you getting fake reviews has nothing to do with me or OUR experience within your establishment that night. Purposely attempting to hurt someone's business is NOT what I stand for. However, being honest about unacceptable behavior and/or service (which I am allowed to be) is. Next time, a better approach would be to leave the sarcasm, assumptions, accusations, and defensiveness out of the conversation (well in your case, argument.) and simply "ASK" the reviewer "what happened exactly?" Here's the approach you could have taken instead... "Hi, I'm sorry you had such a negative experience. I read your review and I just wanted to ensure that I am understanding the situation correctly before moving forward. Is there anything else you would like to add? Is there anything we can do to rectify [insert issue here]?" I hope you catch my drift. I'm a little confused because you were NOT there, yet you have all these preconceived notions about what happened that night.. While what happened was very unacceptable for ANY establishment dealing with food, at least the employees remained cordial. You did not. In fact, the response you provided was very unprofessional overall. Couldn't you have simply ignored the review if you truly thought (or even had an inkling of a feeling) that the review was bogus or fake? My Uncle and I finished a 6hr commute from V.A. Both hungry and exhausted, from the drive. We searched for the nearest restaurant running for 24hrs, and Boulevard Diner pops up. As we approached the door, the manager waved his hand, signaling they're closed. We ask " aren't you guys 24hrs." He proceeds by telling us since covid they're short staff, and they're not open 24/7. Eventually he let us in and order food, but said " After order please wait outside, and we will bring it to you." We never waited outside. so I go to this place with my kids, been here before I spent $200 easily. while we are eating I see a family of like 8 gets up and walks out, that should've been my first but whatever right. I have been coming to this diner for about 5 years, and I decided to write this review since I have been coming everyday lately as I prepare for an exam. I have brought my immediate family- husband and toddlers as well as extended family from Georgia and Michigan and they all rave about the diner. Pros- great selection, clean, polite and quick service. Rosa is the best!!! I usually get an omelet platter which is always spectacular, but when I ventured out to have pancakes, avocado toast, blintzes, etc. all were very good. Ohh! The spinach pie too. They really make me feel at home and never rushed me when I set up with my laptop and books. I can also tell they have many "frequent flier" customers that they know by name, but they treat newbies just as well. The lunch specials are a great value ( many options to suit just about any taste) and they decorate to stay in season which is a nice touch! They also update their menu periodically with tasty creations like the kale salad ( I get it without chicken as a vegetarian and it is still delicious). I have also ordered delivery many time and it has been wonderful and the nice lady on the phone is polite. Everything seems to be made fresh, yet comes out quite quickly. We like it here because the food is pretty consistent, and it's very close. The service is always on point, the place is updated and clean looking, and you'd have to be a real pain in the ass not to find something on their huge menu to like. The tuna melts are super, especially when you add some tomato and avocado. Their nightly dinner specials are well worth it with a number of seafood options for us non meat eaters and pescatarians. This place has been here for years. My mom recalls the diner from back when (1960's, perhaps before) and she said it was great even then. We came in with a party of 12 and ordered stacks of pancakes which were extremely dry, burnt, and bitter (stick to Bisquick next time please!), ordered a gyro which had some burnt rubbery meat looking substance within it, curly fries with gravy which looked like some sort of cheese concoction that should NOT exist. I decided to give this place another try being that it's location is so convenient. However, for the second time I must say I was not too impressed. Pros: The decor is beautiful. All of the furniture is clean and brand new. The service is fantastic. The entire staff is friendly and constantly checks up on you to see if you need anything. For example a large apple juice was $4. (Side not no free refills) The quality of the meals was not cooked well. I ordered a breakfast wrap with scrambled eggs, tomatoes, cheese, and ham with a side order of French fries. From the minute I picked up the wrap large amounts of oil came dripping out. The ham was a different taste I was not used to, and even the French fries had an odd taste. My guess is the oil they use to cook everything in is what is giving off the taste. The worst dinner I've ever been to. I'm 40 years old and have always lived in the tri-state area. Out of a party of 12, I would say not one person's food would be considered anything more than okay. IHOP seems like heaven compared to this place, and Denny's a 5 star restaurant. Don't order the steak and eggs, don't order any coffee drinks, try to keep it as basic as possible. Came here late last night with a friend. We both decided to order breakfast. We we seated right away in a both and had a very nice waitress. Right away we were brought water. We both decided to split two meals in between the both of us. I decided to order a waffle and my friend ordered the eggs with for beef hash which came with home fries and toast. The waffle was OKAY, it was warm not really hot. I definitely feel like I have has better waffles in diners before. My friends order had a very generous amount of both the eggs (over easy) corned beef hash and toast. This meal in general however was pretty cold, especially the home fries. The toast was perfectly buttered and perfectly toasted. The eggs were okay not the best but not the worst. Our waitress came and checked up on us during the meal to see if we needed anything else. I also decided to bring my boyfriend home the chocolate cheesecake. When I got home I decided to try a bite. The amount they gave us was HUGE and actually tasted really good. Actually, the whole team worked like a well oiled machine. The manager grabbed my check and change for me from my table (even though you go up to pay). Late review... last week, I was so disappointed. I had ordered lasagna, chicken Alfredo and asked for bread. First thing, they gave me a loaf of bread, second my chicken Alfredo was so bland I had to go to supermarket to tweak it cause I hate to waste food.
