We came to Boulevard Diner in North Bergen because it's one of the few that's still open 24/7. We walked in at 3AM (drunken nights... what can I say?) and were seated immediately. The interior is modern, clean, and spacious. Plenty of booth seating and tables. They also have an outdoor patio. It doesn't have your old-school diner look from back in the day. The menu has a diverse variety of food and drinks to choose from. It has anything and everything on it... from your classic American fare to international options. They also have a full bar, Happy Hour, and specials. We were given the overnight menu. I noticed that their prices online are $3-$4 lower than the prices in person. Very odd... that alone turns me off LOL. Since it was so late, the diner wasn't busy. Service was super quick. We ordered... *Cuban Panini served with coleslaw and fries $18.95 - I wasn't expecting a diner to give me a Cubano that rocked my world... so for my adjusted expectations, this was mid. The pork they used was grocery store quality pre-sliced meat. The bread was limp and not crispy. They didn't even put mustard or pickles. Definitely did not have any flavors of a classic Cuban. It just tasted like a ham and cheese sandwich you could make at home. *California Omelette with home fries and toast $17.95 - Your standard omelette made with three eggs, avocado, mushrooms, onions, tomatoes, and cheddar. The eggs were a bit overcooked and dry. Nothing to rave about, but no complaints either. The food wasn't really worth the price. There are a lot of diners with lower prices and better food. Would I return? Maybe, only out of convenience. It's open 24/7 and has every type of food possible to satisfy a craving. It's not the best quality, but it might do the job. read more

After working a 15 hour shift, all I wanted was some breakfast. The waiter is completely incompetent and I feel bad saying that because he's an old man. The waitress that came in was just as clueless and believe me if there was a language barrier I speak both languages so it's not an issue for me. I was just trying to add one thing to my breakfast, and it became such an ordeal that I had to wind up, leaving out of sheer annoyance by the situation. Where have the diners gone in New Jersey especially in Cliffside Park and the surrounding areas. It's a joke. DO NOT EVER COME HERE!!! Manager is an ABUSIVE animal and borderline violent. He berates customers and staff publicly. I've been here several times and he behaves this way every time. I cannot imagine what's happening behind the scenes. The most recent time, we ordered a burger that cost $20!! And THIS is what came. Slices of white toast and patties with a single slice of cheese. No fries. When telling the waiter that this wasn't acceptable, the waiter went to tell the manager who started screaming at him telling him that the waiter better be prepared to pay for it himself. The waiter came back and begged us to try to make it work and that he apologized, but it would be coming out of his pay if we returned the dish or asked for a replacement. What the hell?? Are you serious? Don't support this business. I hope the manager gets fired or this place gets shut down for condoning this disgusting behavior and level of service. read more

I drive by this Diner at like 2-3 times a week, but actually have only visited twice. My most recent visit was because they were having a dine to donate event for my kiddos school. I got a chicken sandwich and it was DELICIOUS, my mom got pumpkin pancakes, and she really enjoyed them as well. Our waitress was SO NICE to my son. I used to really love this diner. But it isn't the same. We went for Sunday breakfast. It's still a good diner but the prices are VERY high for the amount of food compared to other places. I'm not going to condemn the food based on questionable service practices. Typical diner food, good portions at reasonable prices. My discontent is with a wait staff member serving food with an open and bloody wound on his forearm, which poses a biohazard to diners and the potential to spread hepatitis. Needless to say... I was told he can't serve alcohol (the manager, telling me this) and proceeds to serve someone else alcohol my id is scannable and legit. year of birth says 2001 it's currently 2024.. it was clear discrimination and the manager definitely shouldn't be in the position he is not allowing me to speak and show him he wasn't looking at my date of birth. Disrespectful staff. I went in recently to pick up food that I ordered online, but I didn't get a confirmation email until after I picked up my food so I couldn't prove I ordered food. When I went inside, I was stopped by an employee and he eyed me up and down before asking, "how can I help you?" I told him that I ordered food online and was there to pick it up. Then he gave me another skeptical look, like it wasn't possible that I could have ordered food for pick up, even though my order was the only one on the counter. Even after I told him what I ordered, he seemed hesitant to give me the food, like I was lying or something. He kept slowly inching the container of food towards me and away from me. The fried green beans were my appetizer of choice. Crispy and a nice treat. The crab cake sandwich with onion rings was solid. The crab cake had decent flavor and it said it was homemade. I had the lunch special which included soup. Homemade vegetable soup which was tasty and warming on a cold day. The staff is always welcoming, always ready to serve my Long Island Tea made like no other. All of the food we ordered is always great, never disappointing. Never going again. It sucks that the service makes a lot of people never go back. No one wants to be treated like shit. If I go out to eat is to get great food and great service. the waitress seemed bothered when asked to get ketchup or more water. With so many nearby diners to choose from, Boulevard diner is usually my go to. I have picked up breakfast here well over ten times and have never been disappointed. Their food is tasty, affordable, and served in classic diner portions aka huge. For breakfast, I normally order the California omelette or Eggs Benedict. Nine out of ten times they nail the poached eggs so the yolk and hollandaise sauce coat the home fries beautifully. Their home fries are my favorite, I honestly can't think of a place whose home fries I like more than Boulevard's. Aside from breakfast, I've dined here for dinner recently after coming back from the city. I ordered the California BLT and asked for it to be served as a panini instead of on a hero. We've been going to Boulevard Diner for over 13 years and the food has never disappointed. Also their dessert display is always sooooooo tempting! Plus, when Vivi and Stelios are there, they make sure every customer is satisfied. My ONLY complaint is that, after the pandemic, some servers don't know the menu or specials or how to provide good service. Sometimes we have to remind them if certain items come with sides, soup/salad, etc. Maybe I'm old fashioned but, as a former server, learning the menu is important, as is repeating the order after you take it down and stopping by the table after the meal is served to make sure all is well instead of the customer having to flag them down. I guess it's true that good help is getting harder to come by post-Covid. read more

Today I went to a diner around me called the Boulevard Diner. I decided to go late at night because my friend and I were were craving something sweet. We saw that they had many options and one of the options were a brownie with ice cream and the other item was cheesecake. When you go to a diner you don't expect for the desert stuff to be amazing but it was really one of the best deserts I have ever tried. They were quick with the service got seated very quickly and was very polite. The brownie was at a good temperature and with the ice cream it just all came together. With the cheesecake it was nice and fluffy also really creamy. I would definitely recommend this diner to anyone who is interested in trying something new or just craving some dessert! read more

Going to diners on the weekend can be hit or miss regarding how busy they are, especially in North Bergen.  When I arrived around 11:00, every table but one was taken.  Perfect! By the time I left, around noon it was much less crowded. Atmosphere: The Boulevard Diner is everything you expect in a diner. The outside is modern, while the inside has plenty of booths, tables, and a full-length bar.  There is also an alcohol bar which is more common in North Jersey than south.  Coffee: The coffee was brewed hot and fresh, and the waitress brought a few refills.  There was nothing to write home about, but it was good coffee.  Not that I should have drunk as much as I did since I was on a road trip.  Food: There is everything you can imagine at the Boulevard Diner.  There are plenty of breakfast options, as well as healthy lunch options, and of course dinners such as seafood and steak.  I decided to order the steak and eggs.  Sometimes diner steak is awful, and sometimes it's good.   Luckily this was not only good but the best diner steak I've personally had.  The portion for a breakfast steak was also huge!  It was cooked medium rare as requested with two over easy eggs.  It was definitely one of the best breakfasts I've had in a while. We get hungry at 3 am but have a mountain of things to do so we decide to do takeout. This was one of the only places open in the area. We ordered a cheeseburger deluxe, breakfast deluxe 3 and corned beef hash with 2 eggs. I arrive promptly 20 minutes later to pick up the food. When I get back to dig in, I notice my corned beef hash has this odd smell. I tried one bite and I am regretting it so much. It tasted wild and I had to confirm so I had my two colleagues also try it and they both agree that it was spoiled. The burger wasn't spoiled but was subpar. Super soggy and lacked basic seasoning. Breakfast deluxe had soggy bacon, soggy sausage (absolutely no snap), soggy potatoes, and overcooked eggs. As this location is only 5 minutes away, I stopped by to get a refund on the spoiled food. It was an older gentleman at the counter this time and when I explained my situation, he said wait and went to the back. The same man as when I picked up the food came out and I explained about the spoiled corned beef hash. He refused to give me a refund. He keeps insisting I order something else. I EXPLAINED to him that I didn't want to get more food from a place that just gave me spoiled food. He says he's not the manager so he can't refund me but he can exchange it. I really didn't want anymore food and didn't want to waste more time so I took some drinks. Horrible customer service and total waste of money. Wouldn't recommend to anyone. My Uncle and I finished a 6hr commute from V.A. Both hungry and exhausted, from the drive. We searched for the nearest restaurant running for 24hrs, and Boulevard Diner pops up. As we approached the door, the manager waved his hand, signaling they're closed. We ask " aren't you guys 24hrs." He proceeds by telling us since covid they're short staff, and they're not open 24/7. Eventually he let us in and order food, but said " After order please wait outside, and we will bring it to you." We never waited outside. The cashier (young black lady) said "he's open 24/7 and was unsure about letting you guys in." Yes, because of us being black. The food was good, but the service unfair. God bless the owner..
