Boulevard Inn was fantastic for our wedding room blocks, and for the bridal suite. I reserved a Deluxe Family Suite for my bridal party to get ready in. We fit myself (bride), 6 bridesmaids, 2 mothers, 2 sister-in-laws, and three hair / makeup artists and all were able to comfortably get ready. It was so fun! We booked Hanna Wagner Designs out of Grand Rapids for hair and makeup if you're wondering; it was so convenient to have them in one room. Also, even though there's only one bathroom, there was a full mirror and double sinks in the master bedroom, so that really helped when getting ready. My husband had a Park View Suite for the groomsmen to eat lunch and congregate in and he said it was a great size for him, 5 groomsmen, 2 brothers, and 2 fathers to meet in. His room also has a fantastic view of the lake. My aunts also brought a great spread for a bridal brunch from Cafe Tosi and there was plenty of room. It was great to have the full sized refrigerator. The event staff was also fantastic to work with. I'd recommend booking the Boulevard Inn for your events.

My girlfriend and I booked a room here for a girls night, and really enjoyed our stay. We were allowed early check-in, which was awesome, and then Lacy, the manager, upgraded our room to a beautiful double queen bed suite with a view of Lake Michigan. The room was very clean and spacious, and the hotel is within walking distance of downtown, which was perfect! We didn't use it, but the room had a refrigerator and microwave. A hot complimentary breakfast was included, and was tasty! They had French toast, biscuits and gravy, eggs, sausage, oatmeal, potatoes, hash, cereal, fruit, coffee, etc. We did have a small problem, but it was handled so well by management! Looking forward to staying again!

Our view from the couch it's cloudy today.

New Years Eve and a perfect place to stay. D had a gig at a local brewery for NYE so we decided to stay the night even though we are only 35 minutes from St. Joe. Good thing we did, the weather was absolutely horrible. I really like the Boulevard Inn. It was the first time I have stayed there. The foyer was decorated beautiful for the holidays. Being off-season, it was not crowded at all. And being NYE, it was very quiet. We were greeted by the nicest front desk clerk. She filled us in about the hotel and that our room rate included 2 breakfast buffets the next morning. Our room was on the 4th floor. It was so spacious - a suite with a living room, TV, microwave, fridge, desk & coffee maker - and clean. Nice bathroom. And the bedroom had a king bed & TV. Our room faced the parking lot, which was fine since we were only there to sleep. The Boulevard Inn is convenient to everything in downtown St. Joe. Within a block or less you are on State St., the major street with all the cute stores and restaurants. The Boulevard Inn does have restaurant, The Bistro. We had our complimentary buffet breakfast there and it was good. Nothing fancy - scrambled eggs, sausages, potatoes, waffle station, assorted cereals, fruit and juice & coffee - but it satisfied us just fine. I would love to come back and stay at the Boulevard Inn during the summer and sit out on their front porch for the great views of Lake Michigan. It's a perfect hotel for just relaxing and enjoying St. Joe.

Housekeeper did a poor job during multi-night stay

Mediocre hotel... it is very dated and could definitely use a deep cleaning. It is in a great location, which is the only thing keeping this place is business... it's right across the street from the beach and walking distance to downtown. My biggest issue... No designated hotel parking? WTF? I'm paying $300/night and had to park two blocks away due to 4th of July beach goers... ridiculous. The goof at the desk was not empathetic at all. He just said it's "first come, first serve." The parking situation should be over-communicated on thier website and in any confirmation emails. Not the surprise I was hoping for after a 3-hour drive. What needs to be improved: -Parking (no designated hotel parking!) -Front desk staff - lackluster service -Deep clean this place - vents, nooks/crannies -Put ice machines on every floor -Change the carpet -Beds are not comfy and linen isn't fluffy -Towels are old/scratchy -No water in room and no option to purchase -Housekeepers do bare minimum The breakfast was decent... your typical buffet with eggs, hashbrowns, some cereal options, fruit, etc. The staff at the bistro is great. Without my Bistro experience, this would be a 2-Star review. Despite the location, we won't be back.

Blood, or pasta sauce? Either way, disgusting that it was on our comforter when we first walked in.

In addition, we wanted to use our credit card points so our selections for this weekend were slim but overall this checked all the boxes. What went well was that our room was quiet. There was 24/7 coffee/tea available in the lobby. the space to walk the dog was really nice as there were two locations on either side of the buildings. Additionally enjoyed the set up of the room and the amenities such as the body wash and the hand soap. There is some room for improvement at this location in regards to breakfast items. It was very continental and really didn't do the trick however we were able to enjoy bagels, toast, hard boiled egg and they did have a few varieties of fresh fruit. In particular, I wasn't really a fan of the pancake machine and the traditional waffle iron would be much more hardy and suitable. Overall, no major problems with our room however, the TV system is unique and sometimes it works, and sometimes it didn't often to look at Pluto versus even accessing the live channels as their entertainment system is kind of finicky. Additionally, the lotion dispenser in our room did not work, and I really wanted to try the lotion as I thought the fragrance for the body wash and hand Soap was very pleasant. Lastly, the workers at this hotel are just not very friendly. They're not rude. They're just not hospitable and that was evident from the front desk to the breakfast attendance to the maintenance person. They just were not very friendly or engaging at overall. If in this area again, I would stay at this hotel if the price point was right. overall it was a good value and close to St. Joseph while having the charm of Stevensville.

I didn't eat at the brunch but I was babysitting and we went to see Santa and grabbed some complimentary hot chocolate. The Santa looked great and the hot chocolate was delicious! The hotel was decorated beautiful for the holiday and the staff was friendly, as always. I've enjoyed lunch and dinner at their restaurant, Plank's Tavern, and I've always enjoyed their outdoor tiki bar with a water view! They have nice, updated rooms, a cafe that opens early for espresso drinks, and their hot tub is awesome because it goes outside! It's fun to relax in the hot tub during a Michigan snowfall. My only complaints are that the elevator is incredibly slow and they only accept dogs in the condos, which are much more expensive to stay in for a night compared to the hotel rooms.

In other words we were lied to on numerous details. I made a reservation 5 weeks in advance of arrival for a king room with sofa bed. This would accommodate My husband, myself and my 16 year old son. This was already less than what we really needed but we were told this was all that was available. My son could at least have the sofa bed. When we arrived, we were given a room with only a king bed and told that they took the sofa beds out some time ago. Huh? Then I was told by the front desk clerk and manager (with a heavy attitude of indifference & deference) that there was "nothing they could do that they were sold out" no offer to check other locations no apologies no show of sympathy no concern at all. I was told that because I booked with Expedia, it was really their fault/responsibility and not the Hilton. I countered that it was also the Hilton's responsibility to stand by reservation agreements. The manager basically sneered at me and accusingly said that I made the reservation with Expedia - a 3rd party and it was no responsibility on their part. She claimed that I "got the best daily rate of $248 vs the $278". Uh, excuse me I paid $394.99 per night" We reluctantly decided to check in and call Hilton corporate. I was super tired after our long distance drive. We were also told that the "complimentary breakfast" is not complimentary. That actually the breads danishes fruit were included but that the eggs bacon etc would incur added cost. I spent an hour on the phone with corporate and am now waiting for a promised call back.... Sounds like I also need to make a call to Expedia...

So I walked away.... Except.... He popped out 15 seconds later and said I'm getting your keys now. This was a confusing checkin. He also said they don't use mobile keys at this location (per the front desk clerk). Then he asked me if I wanted 2nd or 3rd floor. Lol. It doesn't really matter to me and I mentioned I'm traveling with my children. He gives us the very last room on the 3rd floor (the furthest and most difficult room to get to in the entire hotel...pray there's not a fire... like seriously)- he's got jokes - and - told us to park on the side of the building, but neglected to mention the elevators are where the lobby is. However, its been several years that we had stayed there, through multiple renovations and we figured, "hey, what the heck, lets give it a try again, because it couldn't be worse then what it was in the past". Well - sure enough we were wrong. We booked the "Presidential Suite" since we were celebrating a milestone anniversary, and since it was still considered "off season", the prices weren't too terribly bad. When we got in the room, we saw hair in the corners of the shower, the shower glass door wasn't wiped down from the last time it was used, there was hair on the bathroom floor behind the toilet and in the sink. Running our hand over a side table in the room, you could see the streak of us displaying multiple layers of dust that was on the table. The floors weren't swept or mopped (at least this room had updated laminate flooring instead of that terrible carpet), and overall the room was just REALLY dirty. The pool is still "under renovation" (which is probably for the best with - don't advise anyone to go in that water if that would be of the same condition as the rest of the hotel), and their hotel bar is still closed. When we alerted the front desk about this condition of the room, they didn't seem to shocked due to their lackluster attempt at an apology. No offer for rectification or anything like that. I could go on and on, but im sure the point has come across. The kicker was, when we were ready to relax, we turned on the TV, to which we found there was no TV service or internet available. I called the front desk, and the guy said "we'll i'll need to come in the room to see what is going on". To which i turned down since we were trying to relax and go to sleep. End of the day, this hotel continues to be a major miss with location, service and amenities. It would be an absolute gold mine if someone would actually just take care of it, and put decent effort into it. If you just need a bed in a beach town for a night to relax, then yes, this is your place. HOWEVER if you actually want a "nice" hotel (which i'll use the term loosely since SBH doesn't even come close to "nice"), continue to look at Boulevard Inn or Harbor Shores Inn.
