We went to The Boulevard for Fish Fry Friday. We had about a 30-40 minute wait to get seated for a party of 5. Service was ok, not super attentive, but good. We came because we had heard great things about the fish. I ordered their 5 piece Famous Fish Fry, the was just ok nothing earth shattering. Small portion of French fries, also came with coleslaw which was fantastic! For $22.00 it should've had a longer portion of fries. My wife got their Fattoush Salad and she loved it. My two daughters and my daughter's boyfriend got the fish. We all thought it was good, but not mega great. Very nice atmosphere, well organized for a super busy lent Friday. read more

Stopped in Boulevard Tavern to celebrate a birthday. The vibes are woodsy and hunter-like, with different videos of animals are played on several screens. I got the fish fry 3-piece with a side salad. The fish was well-battered and tasty, but the pieces were small for 18.99 a plate. However, the margarita was well shaken and strong. My friend got the beef swarma, and it was very dry. The fries were stale and lukewarm. But the server was nice and friendly. But the price point didn't feel worth it. read more

I know that inflation is an issue for every business these days, but our most recent experience was incredibly disappointing. I had gone several years back with a friend and the food was amazing, so I was excited to return with my boyfriend and my daughter. I expected a long wait so I wasn't too upset when the hostess told us it would be 45 mins. I think it ended up being about an hour and 15 mins by the time we got seated. The first thing we noticed was the menu didn't have much of a selection. Kind of a weird mix of Mediterranean offerings with a burger thrown in and the fish fry. I got the 3 piece fish (w salad and coleslaw) while my boyfriend for the 5 piece fish (with fries and coleslaw). The food took quite a while to come out but I noticed that they were cranking out to go orders. As a customer who waited 75 mins for a table and then was waiting about 20 mins for our food to come to the table, it was off-putting seeing so many to go orders being done. Once the food came, we were both pretty speechless at how little food was on our plates. The three pieces of fish I had couldn't have weighed more than 5 ounces, and his wasn't much bigger. His serving of fries was hardly a handful. The coleslaw was Grandma's (from the grocery store) and the house vinaigrette had zero taste. My daughter enjoyed her burger, though. So for three of us to eat, our bill was $69 before the tip. The fish was good, but not worth the price they are charging, nor worth the wait. So many other options in town with more reasonable prices and portion sizes. One other thing to note....the parking lot is HORRIBLE. Massive potholes everywhere, only one way in/out of the lot and no spots are marked so it's a total free for all. read more

Best perch wet ever had! Everyone we take there is amazed by the quality of the good. The problem with taking people there is once the good is there....everyone just ears and yumms. This is a nice local dinner spot in Cuyahoga Falls. The inside has some cool Art Deco styling, a well stocked bar, and cozy seating in booths. We heard the fish was good so I ordered the five piece with fries and a salad. It came all together on one good-sized plate. The salad was kind of basic with iceberg lettuce, tomatoes and cucumber. The fish were plump and tender with a light crispy breading and tasted great with both the tartar sauce and cocktail sauce. Service was fast and friendly. Definitely recommend. read more

Waited 2 hours to get our entrees with no communication from the server. Ended up asking for the food to be put in carry out boxes because we couldn't waste any more of our night there. My family that lives in Cuyahoga Falls has been raving about Boulevard Tavern and when my immediate family was in town for the week we decided to meet there for dinner on a Friday night. The atmosphere was spirited, energetic, like a busy small town tavern. I think it was the cheerful, carefree, active atmosphere that gave it it's life giving and relaxing feel. The wait staff were friendly, delighted, attentive to details, and down-to-earth. As were all the guests. The food is priced fairly. Sometimes I go to places and wonder why in the world the restaurant charges what they do for a food item, but not here. The prices make me want to come back or tip more because what they charge make me feel like they are doing me a favor and I want to return that favor. The descriptions of the food in the menu is worth the price of admission! They are funny, make the food sound great, and make me want to order all the items on the menu just to see if the food tastes like it's described. Some of the descriptions had me laughing. I ordered the Socratic burger not because I was curious if the unexamined burger was actually worth eating, but because I wanted to see if it made me as smart as Socrates. It didn't, but it was good. The burger was well worth the price I paid. The best part of the burger for me was not the burger meat but the melted feta cheese mix of herbs, garlic, and pickle peppers. Haven't been here since last fall. I read a few reviews and was a little concerned that maybe things weren't as good as I remembered. I couldn't be more pleased. Seating was immediate, arrived about 6:30 on a Thursday evening, server was more than willing to accommodate a special seating request. Shared a 5 piece perch dinner and a dish of Cuban cigars. Visited this place for the first time in over 2 years. It has changed hands but almost the same menu with higher prices and no Thurs. night steak special. We were a party of five and the concensus was the foods was just OK. There is a 3% surcharge for using your credit card. Shortly after the bills were paid the waitress asked us to leave because they needed the table. The place was not crowded and other seating was available. My friend wanted dessert so we shared a chocolate cake. I typically don't love chocolate cake as much as the average person, but this was pretty good. My dog parents got this place for dinner last night. They said they've heard such good things about this place, especially the fish fry. They got the fish fry and chicken kabob. The fish fry was...fried fish. Nothing special for the almost $20 price. Not sure what makes it famous but I think my owners get the same quality at the grocery store, albeit the better, more expensive frozen fish. The chicken kabob was okay. I liked the chicken, perfect sized pieces for me to sample. What was disappointing about it was the mushrooms used were canned. I believe my mom said the meal cost $18, so I would expect fresh mushrooms, she did too, said the canned were salty and slimy. Both meals came with fries, which were fine, probably would've been better if they wouldn't have let them sit and get cold for so long. They also got side salads, which was chunks of iceberg lettuce, cucumbers and tomatoes. Fine for a side salad, but they couldn't stop complaining about the ranch dressing, said it tasted like vinegar. Even I wouldn't like that! My dad went to pick up the meal, he said the person he picked it up from didn't seem like they wanted to be bothered with helping him. Maybe it's a place for regulars, maybe a bad night...all I know is my parents won't be regulars anytime soon. Overall my parents thought the meal was okay, nothing memorable and definitely not worth the $40ish they spent. Probably won't eat there again. This is the epitome of your awesome local spot! The servers are super attentive and friendly. The perch really is the best in town and the beef tenderloin sandwich was seasoned perfectly. I like the mix of Mediterranean dishes on the menu....this is what gives local spots their character and uniqueness. As for people commenting on parking, they might be better suited to one of the numerous chains that have massive parking lots. I ordered the Philly cheesesteak and fries to go. The fries were dry and bland. But the sandwich was the worst sandwich I have ever had. It tasted like oil that was used on the grill, the bread had been grilled, and was hard as a brick.the meat was in cubes instead of thinly sliced and very chewy. Sat at the bar for lunch on a Friday, good crowd and perfect atmosphere at this wonderful throw back wood bar. Service was exceptional, attentive and had a great conversation with the bar staff. This is a local place that has a great vibe, staff and food. The interior is mostly wood and traditional, kinda like Cheers. The staff is incredibly friendly and I have NEVER had a bad experience there. I ALWAYS get their falafel which is TO DIE FOR! Instead of fries, I get the fattoush salad. It is so good, I am drooling as I type this. I have had their wings and they are good, but I am so in love with the fattoush that I can't bring myself to have anything else! This is a review of the Boulevard's wings, not the whole restaurant, which has very decent food. So their wings are awesome. They told me they buy them fresh and never freeze them. They cook them to order, not in huge batches, so every order is cooked for you. They're cooked perfectly - crispy never overdone. Tuesday night is their wing night ($.25/wing)and you can order by the number, and it's easily the best wing deal anywhere. There is no comparison between BW3's wings and Boulevard wings. BW3 definitely has a wider range of sauces, but their wings are a joke. So, while Boulevard doen't have a lot of sauces, they don't really need them. These wings are nearly the size of normal chicken legs. The medium sauce is great, and sometimes, when the right cook is working, and if they're not too busy, you can get them to mix the bbq and the medium. Everyone I've taken to this place for wings thinks they're the best they've ever had. Don't be cheap. The help here is great. Tip well. read more

The Boulevard Tavern, built back in the early 1930's, looks like one of those local neighborhood joints that no one outside the area knows about. I stopped in with eight friends last Saturday and experienced one awesome burger. Six of us tried the burgers, with one enjoying theirs so much they ordered one to go to enjoy the next day. Most of us chose the Chipotle Burger, with six ounces of ground chuck, cheddar cheese, smoked bacon and garlic sauteed mushrooms, topped with a smokey BBQ, sauce for $7.99. It's served with fries, which were also really quite good. If you don't like Hot, get the sauce on the side. A few people did just that, and so some of the more adventurous of us dipped some fries directly into the sauce. By itself, the BBQ sauce is hot, but the spoonful they slather on the burger is just enough to compliment the beef. And the beef was so good. The person who tried the Bouley Burger (regular cheeseburger topped with a fried egg, $6.99) said it was also good but I noticed the egg was slightly overcooked and the yoke was not runny. THE ONLY REASON TO EVER ORDER A FRIED EGG IS TO ENJOY THE RUNNY YOKE. Everyone raved about their burgers, especially the beef, cooked perfectly. A vegetarian tried the falafal, couldn't finish it, but made sure they took what was left home, giving it a thumbs up. The only disappointment that evening was the serious lack of customers in the place. When we left at around 8:00 there was only one table occupied, with three people, and one booth. Really folks, this place should be packed. There is a parking lot in the back, a few spots on the street, and the owner lives next door (east) so feel free to park on the grass there.
