Its a hotel restaurant and it shows, but It's a nice night out and it's a high end restaurant where kids are welcome and that was perfect for us. The bread they provide is essentially a cinnamon roll, except instead of cinnamon, they put garlic, and it is incredible. The food is very pricey but at least the ingredients are high quality and well prepared. I got a filet and it was fantastic. The wagyu filet was also well-received by my friends. The sides are all great. I loved the Brussel Sprouts best, but none was better than another. The service was good, nothing to complain or compliment, but adequate for what would be acceptable, which is a high standard anyway for this level of restaurant. We weren't rushed to leave, and we were pretty slow. The desserts were a "low point" but really....they were fine and they weren't intended to be the star anyway. OH EM GEE. How lucky was I to attend Bourbon Steak Washington DC. Babe took me here for a hot date and man were we pleased. The drinks were stellar. I ordered the baby gem Cesar salad and I must say, I was surprised to see it in the shape of a shell. Each individual piece had its own crusting of deconstructed croutons and tempura anchovies. It was DELISH. I ordered the potato crusted fish, bae had the steak. For sides we decided on mushrooms, and baked potatoes. No complaints with either. Our sever, I WISH I could remember his name, he was awesome. Oh! The fries they bring over, in addition to the house made bread - man! What an unexpected treat - seeing as that I LOVE fries. LOVE EM. My Husband decided to book our anniversary dinner at Bourbon Steak. We sat at the tables next to the bar. Our drinks were really good. The trio fries with the different dipping sauces were great as well. My husband and I both ordered the Wagyu steaks (NY Strip & Filet) along with a handful of sides. And although our steaks were very tasty, we were very disappointed that we didn't get all of our sides until 20 minutes later!! By that time, we were almost done with our steaks. Very disappointing experience, especially it being at the Four Seasons. They should be on top of things. My 3 star rating is solely based on the drinks and steaks. Can we say fine dining? I stopped where while my sister was utilizing the Spa resort next door& I didn't regret one single ounce of it. The moment that I walked in, I was impressed by the decor of the restaurant. Very zen and modern. My waitress was very polite and extremely knowledgable as far as the menu goes. I ordered the BBQ Salmon Sandwich with duck fat fries on the side. The Sandwich was delicious, it had Kimchi ,lettuce, cilantro and Jalapeños! The only thing on the sandwich that I didn't care for was this strange hint of raspberry vinaigrette, I don't know why or how this was on the sandwich; but it really threw off the rest of the flavors& I think that it would taste 100x better without it. The duck fat fries stole the show! They were very crispy, savory and just all around addicting. They came with a wide array of dipping sauces (horseradish mustard, ketchup, spicy mayo, A1 & BBQ, signature sauce) these fries were also very bountiful in quantity! Excellent burgers, lovely little salads, french fries that are to die for...just hand me a glass of prosecco and I am one happy gal. :) The ambiance is simply stunning. And although a bit more high-end, I never feel uncomfortable brining in a few kiddos to dine for lunch. The staff is very accommodating and friendly, even with young ones in tow. Until recently, I would have told you I don't do burgers, except for my homemade turkey or black bean versions. However, that would now be a lie. Burgers are delicious and I rue the fact I hadn't eaten a beef burger in twenty years, until 2016. While I'd like to say this was the burger that changed it all, that would be wrong. It was really because my sister told me she had started eating burgers again. So when I heard about the lunch special, I had to come here. I started with a glass of white wine, while I waited for my friend. While I forget which wine it was, it was good, which is all that matters. I ordered the oak-fired prime steak burger with cheddar, sans secret sauce, with fries, of course, because let's be honest: if you are ordering this burger, you really don't want to eat with a salad. I am not a burger connoisseur, and have nothing to compare, but this was delicious. Juicy, flavorful, and huge, there's nothing to complain about it. Plus, the bun was toasted, which is always the correct way to serve a bun. My friend also thought this was the best burger she'd ever eaten.The fries were fantastic, but the burger was so big, that I couldn't finish the fries. Also, I wanted to save room for dessert. Have not been to Bourbon Steak (Four Seasons Hotel) went there two days straight and sat out on the patio. I went there last Sunday then followed by this Monday for cocktails and appetizers. For starters, the menu fall/winter is so attractive like oh gosh they're about to merge over to the spring menu within a week. I ordered a delicious cocktail called, "What about those apples" whiskey based and eggs. Please do not fret the eggs provides the cocktail with a foam finish, similar to a gin fizz. Another cocktail that I ordered, "Hot Buttered Rum" which makes great desert addition. I was dying to order the Ahi Tuna but ended up ordering the fresh crab cakes garnished with a side mixed green salad drizzled with vignette dressing. I am definitely making a return soon!!! This lovely restaurant is located inside of the Four Seasons D.C. My brother, sister, and I were going to go to Bar Taco but I knew it wouldn't be as good as the one in Tampa, FL. It was Veteran's Day and I wanted to treat my brother to a nice meal. We chose to come here because none of us have been here before and the reviews were great! Covid measures- you have to wear a mask until you get your first drink, hand sanitizer is available everywhere, you get your temperature checked and have to answer a questionnaire to assess your exposure, then they give you a pin to show staff you have been properly checked. The pins change colors daily. Mind you, this is way before you get to the entrance. They are very thorough. Staff wears masks and gloves and don't really come near or linger at your table, in a good way. We were not near any other tables, more than 6 feet apart. We started dinner with drinks. My brother got a mojito, my sister got the pineapple-habanero drink, and I got the one paddle, two paddle. My drink tasted like cheap liquor and was super strong like an old-fashioned. Bleh! I ended up getting the drink my sister got. It was refreshing and light on the habanero. We got their complementary black truffle butter rolls. They were like savory cinnamon rolls. They were tasty but a 4/5. I ate very little. My brother and sister got the crab cake. It came with a fresh salad and they loved it. It smelled off putting to me but my stomach and sense of smell is very sensitive after weight loss surgery. 5/5 based on their enjoyment. For dinner my brother got a steak that was medium rare, juicy, and WELL-seasoned. 5/5 He also got lobster Mac and cheese, creamy and didn't overwhelm the lobster. 4/5 My sister got the seared salmon and added 5 jumbo grilled shrimp. Juicy seared salmon and juicy shrimp 5/5. I ordered mashed potatoes with chives and seared spinach. That was to share since I eat very little nowadays and nibbled on my brother and sisters mains. Spinach 4/5, mashed potatoes 4.5/5. My sister and I had prosecco for dessert and they give you a good amount!!! It was crisp and yummy! My sister ordered the smoked smore dessert. **3.5 stars** Hubby wanted to pick out a restaurant for Vday and I didn't know where we were going until we got to Bourbon Steak! Never been to this side of Georgetown so it was nice to see, it's located inside the 4 Seasons. You'll have to go through valet ($15) if you want to park at the hotel. Even though we were about 10 minutes late, they accommodated us right away and took us to our own table right next to the kitchen. When I say "own", I mean we didn't sit at one of those tables where its basically shared with the whole row of people. Win! Our waiter was awesome, she came to check on us frequently and made sure we had everything we needed. We ordered apps not knowing some other free apps were coming! The trio duck fat fries were first, really enjoyed those and the different types of sauces. Then they came out with scallops with a creamy sauce that were delicious. I really enjoyed the sauce/broth it came with. I eventually dipped the truffle butter rolls in it too. Whew! I was getting full and then our ordered appetizers came out! I got the iceberg wedge and my husband ordered the oysters. Wish they would put more dressing on the wedge but I definitely asked for more! It was good with the chicken skin and crispy bacon. My husband enjoyed his oysters as well. The timing of the food coming out was outstanding. One plate went away, another swooped in. How restaurants should be! The steaks to me were disappointing. I ordered a 14 oz rib eye medium. When it came out, it was so rare that it looked like they took the raw steak and ran it through a hot room. I mean it looked like it was still moving. It grossed me out to be honest, lost my appetite. Our waitress apologized and took it to the back. She noticed my husband wasn't eating his bone in NY strip because he was waiting for my steak to come back. So she took it to the back, I'm assuming to keep it under the heater. When my steak came back, it was still on the med rare side but I ate it. I wasn't WOW'd by the steak, I really wish it was better. I mean it is a steakhouse! I didn't feel like the seasoning was there, it was ok but not worth $100. The truffle mac and cheese made up for it a bit because I could've ate 3 more bowls. For a $300 dinner (2 apps, 2 cocktails and 2 steaks)...I wanted a memorable steak that I could tell everyone. It didn't put a lasting impression on me, just that my steak came out breathing and sending it back didn't make up for it. The other food was great but steak not so much. Overall, the apps were delicious, no complaints and the customer service was a1. An interesting thing they did was give us a ticket for our to-go food. When we were done, we gave the ticket to the hostess and they took it out of what I assume is a heater or something to give to us. That was definitely cool! This place was on my 'to try' list for the longest time. Decided to celebrate my girlfriend and I's anniversary here. Ambiance - it's a very dimly light traditional classy steakhouse. You will see a lot of older men in suits and ties. It is at the "end" of the main area of Georgetown right on M street so it's in an affluent part of town. Food - raw oysters appetizer - pretty good 10 oz flat iron - flavor was good but it was half medium rare half medium well 16 oz boneless ribeye - cooked to near perfection The complimentary truffle bread and fries were downright delicious. Service - our waiter checked up on us once maybe twice during the entire 2 hour long meal. We waited the longest time to get our waters refilled. I expected more from an establishment inside a 5 star hotel. Overall I was not satisfied with the service and not really impressed with the food. It's a romantic spot for sure, but I think other steakhouses in the area offer a better experience. read more

My friend and I met up for a post-pandemic dinner.  We decided on Bourbon Steak, and our experience was great, due in no small part to our our wonderful server, Shelly.  She really helped us decide on what to order since we were on the fence about pretty much everything except the steaks!   We started off with drinks.  My friend had the Light Up the Season, and I had the Apple Cobbler.  She liked the Light Up the Season so much, she had a second one; it was a very fresh, light cocktail.  I think I expected more of an apple taste to the apple cobbler, but there was just too much ice in it for my liking.  I drank it because, well whiskey, but I didn't have another.     She ordered the NY Strip (medium well), and I had the Cape Grim rib eye (medium rare).  With the disparity of our preferences, we were glad to find both of our steaks cooked to perfection!   With the sides, we really wanted to try them all, but decided to settle on two - that is until Shelly described them all.  We were informed that we'd receive french fries and bread, but we still got the truffle mac and cheese, broccolini, and brussel sprouts.  I'm not a huge mac and cheese fan, but this was really good!  The brussel sprouts were roasted and slightly crunchy.  The broccolini topping was really good, too!  Part of the reason we ordered so much was because the only thing better than a steak dinner is a steak lunch! My friend asked about the steak sauces, and Shelly informed us that there was an off menu sauce that was similar to chimichurri.  We were sold.  We got the unlisted sauce (I can't remember the name!), the bearnaise, and the bourbon steak sauce (because you have to try to the house sauce!).  I'm not a fan of sauce on steak, but that off-menu sauce was fantastic!   Dinner was great.  Thank you, Shelly, and everyone else for an awesome dining experience! read more

Disclaimer, this review is about the bar at Bourbon Steak, not the food. Bourbon Steak is probably one of my favorite bars in DC. They have an extensively list of interesting cocktails and decent liquor options. I come here about once every two months and their cocktail list always seems to be different. They also have tasty soft cocktails with wonderful combinations of ingredients. In the summer time, they have an outdoor courtyard where you can enjoy drinks and snacks or order from their full menu. We have visited Bourbon Steak about 5 times in the last year, and it has always been amazing. Apparently, the service and food quality is not a stable thing in there. We came in right in time for our reservation, were sited at a desired table at the window. Once seated, we had to wait for about 15 minutes for someone to bring us the menus and offer some water. We are generally patient customers, so we assumed they were too busy and did not even comment on such a long wait. While we were waiting, we have noticed a mouse running by the wall; however, we know how hard it is to maintain perfect cleaning in Georgetown, so it wouldn't have been an issue to cover in an online review unless... We got a bottle of nice red wine, our sommelier was great and recommended a perfect match based on our requests. Then, we ordered a few appetizers and two wagyu steaks, each costing $171. To be clear, I had the same steak here in January, and it was delicious, and melted in my mouth, so I was pretty confident in going for this position again. The server brought us some complimentary fries and bread, which, apparently, they were bringing out for every table (I guess they knew they were about to mess up). The appetizers were... fine? The steak tartar was over salted, more like they did not mix it well enough. Truffle mac n' cheese were overboiled. The bread was good, but still too salty. Even the fries (how can you even mess up the fries????) were over salted. So... we got our appetizers, and...? It's been an hour after we got them, and still no news on our entrees. 40 minutes later our server and Kevin the manager started whispering in a back and glimpsing at us. They kept asking if everything was all right and apologizing for a long wait claiming that "Your steak is coming out of the grill". However, when we asked them how many minutes exactly it is going to take, they would answer "It is coming soon". After 1,5 hours we finally got our steaks. We were so excited to have it, but they turned our to have too much fat. They were cooked unevenly, and were impossible to cut. More like when you buy the cheapest beef in a supermarket, that has a texture of rubber. They also were completely flavorless. After 1,5 hours of waiting time you expect to have an amazing meal, but you get to have a total disaster kn your plate. Again, I did have the same steak here half a year ago, and it was delicious. My assumption is that they ran out of the meat, and decided to replace it with a cheaper analogy. I mean, look at the photo attached!!! Do they look the same to you? We asked them to take the steaks back, and bring some complimentary drinks. The manager offered us some wine, which was ok. They also asked if we wanted some desserts as a complement, and we said "Yes, can you bring us the dessert menu?". They said, sure. Later, a server comes back saying "Your desserts are coming". We were so confused, since we did not order them yet. Apparently, the manager has already decided what works better for us. It was especially surprising since they knew one of ur had dairy allergy, yet both of desserts he sent us had dairy in it. After this all and expressing the disappointment you had after visiting one of your favorite (!!!) places to eat and celebrate, they offered us some popcorn.... and that was it. read more

My husband says Bourbon Steak deserves 5 stars. Considering how the whole dining experience went, I'm inclined to agree. We made a reservation for our anniversary dinner. According to their webpage, dinner service starts at 6 p.m., so that's what we booked for our Saturday night dinner. After making the reservation, the restaurant was quick to confirm it with us via an email. On the day of our dinner, they sent another email plus called us 2 hours before our arrival time. Upon arrival, we gave the hostess our name and she wished us a happy anniversary. We were taken to a two top that was spacious and right by the window, giving us a view of the C&O Canal. I thought that was a nice touch, as well as the card that was on our table that said "happy anniversary". Despite their website saying that dinner service started at 6 p.m., we noticed some people there who were already eating. We figured that since the bar was open, that was the reason. One thing I do ding them for --- On their webpage, they say that their dress code is "business casual". We, of course adhered to that. However, we did see people there who were in jeans. It's a pet peeve of mine when restaurants establish a dress code then don't adhere to it. If they don't adhere to it, then why bother to even have a dress code? Our server was prompt getting to us. He, too, wished us a happy anniversary. Also, he knew the menu very well and explained the various cuts of steaks. After that, he gave us time to look at the drink menu, which I appreciated. When he came back, I ordered a drink called "conejo loco" (crazy rabbit). This drink has pepper infused mezcal, pomegranate juice and lime juice. This turned out to be a spicy drink, which surprised me as I've had other drinks with black pepper in them that barely registered. My husband had a gin and tonic with Tanqueray #10 gin. Before the drinks came, a manager came to our table with a bottle of champagne and filled up the 2 champagne glasses to the halfway point that were already on the table. I'm not a big fan of champagne but I liked this one as it wasn't overly dry. I wish I caught the name of it. This was a nice touch---a complimentary glass of it. A little while later, a food runner brought us some complimentary fries which consisted of fries prepared 3 different ways---herb fried, standard fries and coated in parmigiana cheese. There were 3 dipping sauces---ketchup, steak sauce and a sriracha based sauce. I particularly liked the herb fries and we both liked the steak sauce. Our server returned to take our orders. We decided to start with an appetizer of Portuguese Octopus which consists of: "artichoke, bagna cauda emulsion, crispy potato". It also had some capers in it. We really enjoyed this dish! The octopus was properly prepared and had a meaty texture to it. We were amazed as to just how small the potatoes were. All the ingredients worked very well together. We were brought some piping hot rolls that resembled Parker House rolls---and they were tasty! Each roll was topped with a bit of salt which enhanced the flavor. For our main course, I had the 8 oz. filet mignon while my husband had a 12 oz. New York Strip. We both got them medium rare. The meat was of excellent quality. My steak had some parts that were rare but that didn't bother me. We chose 2 sides---one was black truffle mac and cheese, which had a mix of gruyere and cheddar cheese in it. The black truffle portion was almost microscopic in size. While this dish had the consistency and feel of Kraft macaroni and cheese, the flavors were excellent. The two cheeses blended very well together without one overpowering the other. The second side was crispy Brussels sprouts with apricot. The Brussels sprouts had some char to them that was complimented quite well by the apricot, which was a pleasant surprise to us. When the meal was done, we had no room for dessert---we were that full! Even so, the manager brought us a small bowl with caramel popcorn and somehow we managed to eat it---and enjoy it! My husband said that I should mention this---after we paid for our meal, we both went to the bathroom that was in the hotel (Four Seasons) lobby where we discovered that the bathrooms could only handle one at a time. We expected better than that. As you may have guessed, this was not a cheap meal by any means. Before the tip, dinner cost $200 + change. As my husband put it, it was money well spent for a splurge of a meal! We are both glad that we gave Bourbon Steak a try. read more

It had been a while since I've been to Bourbon Steak, and I'm glad I chose to go back. Excellent dinner and drinks. Great atmosphere. Typically hotel restaurants are "meh". Nothing to write about, but not Bourbon Steak. Once seated you're able to take it all in with the secluded calm and the sophisticated hotel vibe. The service was exceptional for this (hotel) restaurant. For an appetizer we ordered crab cakes., jumbo lump patty which was enough for two had no filler, with just the right amount of seasoning. I could see it was on... For dinner, I had the lobster pot pie and with the complimentary duck fat fries and accompanying sauces. Containing three very different and tasty sauces each contrasted well with the fries. The lobster was tender and cooked to perfection, with the right blend of flavors. Real nice! My date had the local rockfish. Prepared perfectly was tender and sweet. Overall great restaurant and great food. Two thumbs up! read more

We started with the tuna tartar (prepared table-side), the charred octopus, duck fat fries, truffle roles, 7x American Wagyu ribeye, seared scallops and cauliflower, with sautéed mushrooms. Took our company out (9 people) for celebratory dinner on a Friday night. I like they offer valet parking, but $12 seems a bit much, especially after forking over more than $1100 for dinner. Anyways, this place was hopping and so loud! I could barely hear my table mates, with most of the loud noise coming from the bar. The duck fat fries and rolls (a bit hard, must have been sitting around before arriving at our table) were complementary which was nice (prefer the gratis pate and popovers at BLT Steak though). We ordered appetizers of pasta with clams, shellfish platter (wish they had this on a tower, so the table didn't have to get so wet) and others. Great apps. Everyone who ordered steaks were very pleased and enjoyed their perfectly cooked meat. However, the ladies who ordered fish, we're not fans. After trying their fish, I could see why...way over cooked. The wine sommelier was very knowledgable and we sipped each glass of wine in smiles. Fortunately, Bourbon Steak, which is located inside the Four Seasons in Georgetown, offers a different experience for it's guests. Living in Georgetown, we walked over to the venue with our dog and grabbed a seat in the outside garden seating area. This area is beautifully decorated with fun lights above and couches for waiting and lounging. We took a seat at our table and our wonderful server came over to bring us water and say hello. She was very knowledgeable about the menu and pleasant in general. Before ordering food, we decided to start off with drinks. While I'm not the biggest Old Fashioned fan, I decided to order the Vanilla Old Fashioned and was pleasantly surprised. While it still had bitters, the vanilla worked to balance out the taste to make an excellent cocktail. After looking for a while, we decided to get the Tomahawk steak. While it was $140, it was plenty of steak for 2 people and was cooked to absolute perfection. While we also ordered some roasted carrots as a side (be careful as they are spicy), we were also treated to some wonderful truffle bread and a free tray of French fries with lots of fun flavors and sauces. Everything tasted both unique and fantastic, and being able to slip our pooch a couple fries made the experience that much more pleasant. Plus, we heard the bar menu could be ordered outside, so we can come back in the future and grab a quick burger and beer with him, which is always great. Overall, Bourbon Steak is a fantastic steakhouse. The amazing venue, superb service and outstanding food (both in quantity and quality) make this a great place for anyone visiting the Georgetown area to try. read more

Very very upset w the entire dining experience. First of all the place was freezing. The employees had all their coats on and every guest in the place was freezing. You get a $40 lobster side w your steak and you get the tiniest piece of lobster in the ocean. Embarrassing. The ribeye was horrendous. The short pour on the drinks totally unnecessary. The espresso arrives after your finished w your dessert. Very very sad when the restaurant is at 25% capacity and the service is horrendous. Horrible dining experience. read more

Me and my wife were invited for dinner for a conference here. The oysters Rockefeller were soooo delicious. I cannot get over one of the appetizers blue cheese steak bite and steak tartare. The ahi tuna tartare was also exquisitely delicious. We had sauteed spinach, whipped potatoes with chives, trio of mushrooms as our sides. For entree, I got the black angus filet mignon and it was 10/10. For dessert, I got the 24K chocolate molten cake sundae. The service was excellent. I highly recommend this place for a great date! The coolest experience was a tableside (for us it was bar-side) bourbon barrel that was "smoked" with High West bourbon - i mean - seriously - this was such a great experience! I would have taken pictures of the "trio of french fries and trio or homemade dips" that is gratis ALONG with truffle bread -( I overdid the carbs) but I ate so many of them that it appeared there were NO french fries... The service, the quality of the food, the knowledge of every team member who touched the table- just so perfect. We also had a signature cocktail that had strawberries, crushed ice, mint, Casa Noble tequila and it was sooo refreshing i may have to go back later this week!! As a vegetarian (who eats fish) there was plenty on the menu and it delivered: the oysters, the tableside tuna tartare and the charred octopus! Just incredible experience. read more

Sooo...I definitely had an experience here, I'll try to sum it up for y'all. My cousin, her girlfriend and I were all super excited to come here for a fancy night out on the town. This restaurant is at the Four seasons, so we were expecting TOP NOTCH service. We walk in and we were a few minutes lates, no more than 10 minutes, and already we were asked to continue waiting as they were backed up. So we waited and were sat at a cute table. The ambiance was good, everything is cool. Our server comes to the table and seemed very attentive, great! So they take our order and were sitting there chatting, our salads come out with complimentary truffle rolls, fries and dipping sauces, so good by the way. We get to talking and I'm like ok, wait where's our actual meals, by this time it had already been an hour and a half, mind you we got there at around 8:40 pm. So, we asked another server, like hey we've been waiting for quite some time, where's our meals, they stated they'd go and check, came back and said it should be on the way. We waited another 15 minutes, no one came by to check on us, most of the patrons had already came and went. By this time it was already 10:40pm. FINALLY... the manager came by and was like hey we know you've been waiting for a while, the least we could do is comp the bill... then the server came by and apologized and reassured us that this never happens, blah blah blah, we were clearly annoyed. She was very apologetic and understanding and didn't have an attitude, she was actually very nice and them comping the bill was nice too, but for those prices, we expected A1 service. So they bring us our food... mine was the wrong order and I was afraid if I asked them to take it back, we'd be there until 2am, and we all agreed it had tasted and felt like it had been sitting under a heating lamp for quite a while. The food was bland. After all this they asked if we wanted dessert and I really wanted the smores ice cream, which came out super quick and was absolutely AMAZING!!! We also saw a few celebrities in there, so that and the dessert were like the two highlights of the night. Mind you it was my cousin's birthday.... So yeah. We ended up leaving at almost midnight, so you do the math. After everything, I'd say it's a no for me, I've had way better food and service at other steakhouses that were worth every penny. Jumped back and forth between 4 and 5 stars. Although the service and food were amazing, I can't argue that it's "as good as it gets." The hostess was very friendly and attentive. The waiter made sure that our water was always filled, and he even sent over the sommelier when we were having some trouble ordering wine. The complimentary bread was great; those duck fat fries though were WOW. I love the seasoning and the dipping sauces and might just start going there for those. We ordered the Argentinian bone-in rib eye; it was an amazing cut, cooked just the way I liked it. It came out on a long wooden board with potatoes and avocado and other regional accoutrements as they say. Absolutely delicious and kudos to the chef! As if that wasn't enough, we ordered the lobster mac and cheese with big chunks of lobster and a great but not overpowering gouda flavor. So where's the "but." ...well, the price tag! Hey, you go to a steak house at the Four Seasons in Georgetown, you're gonna expect to pay top dollar. But in doing so, you also expect the best of the best of the best. And though Bourbon is a top contender in the steak industry, DC has no shortage of steakhouses at more reasonable prices. Yes, I'll probably come back, for like a Mother's day so I can prove to my mom that even though I'm in my 30's and haven't given her grandchildren, I can still take care of myself and buy fancy stuff. But unless I'm trying to impress someone with the venue, I'll opt for less expensive but just as delicious steaks elsewhere. read more

Attended a business dinner here. Very fancy, restaurant is inside the Four Seasons Hotel (found street parking, so undoubtedly saved s pretty penny parking-wise). Was feeling veggies but it's a steak house, so .... ordered the filet. I ordered medium rare but got medium (honestly it was tilted towards medium well, which made me sad because I could tell it was a really good cut of meat and I know I would have loved it medium rare). Appetizers were awesome, as was the key line dessert. But they never got around to serving us coffee and by the time desserts arrived, more than half of my dinner companions (a group of almost 40) had left. Do need to note that the key lime dessert was divine. So four stars are for the food but it was kind of more two stars for the service, sad to say. read more

Surprisingly our expectations were higher than our actual experience, but mainly because the steak house didn't come through on the steak. The waiter was very informed but not attentive. Bourbon steak had a very dark and low key vibe. Luckily for us our table was under one of the lights so we were able to see our menus. Some guest at other tables were seen using their cellphone lights to see. It is perfect for those that want a nice upscale experience but don't want to be seen. Our waiter Muz was very informed about the menu and the cut of each steak. It felt like he had a PhD in red meat. Unfortunately, I didnt try a steak but the pork chop was to die for. It paired well with the cream of spinach and left me wanting more. I will have to go back and try the Rib Eye or NY strip when in the mood for steak and a whole lot of steak. All of the steak ounces were huge so a turn off if you aren't extremely hungry but in the mood for a steak. The appetizer was different but a great combination of flavors. Try the Gnudi if you like over easy eggs, pasta and cheese. My godmother enjoyed the scallops and my mom after disappointment with the Filet of Ribeye equally enjoyed the porkchop. The pork chop although somewhat new to the menu was twice a table favorite and a must try even though you are at a steak house. The signature smores dessert had a memorable presentation and smell that had us all thinking something was burning at some point during our meal.
