Perfect neighborhood place with really good food!!
    Flo V.

While traveling through Sheboygan, WI. With the help from YELP....we found this cool little joint. Bourbon Street Pub & Grill. Went in....not too crowded...but COVID is still around. Had to be cautious. A few "locals" were in there having conversations about "local" things. Madi Gras' beads were hanging around the place... very festive. Comfortable. We sat at the bar, ordered some beers and then food. My husband had the Gumbo....delicious!! He felt it was the BEST ever !! Great flavor, had just the right amount of spicy kick to it. I ordered the Muffaletta sandwich. It had a nice portion of meat on the sandwich. Delicious!! Compliments to the Chef ... which we found out had lived in New Orleans for several years. Would we go back..... ?. YES. !!

Pasta with alligator and crawfish and a hurricane!

I used to spend a lot of time in Louisiana, and I missed the food there. My girlfriend pointed out to me that there is a New Orleans inspired restaurant in Sheboygan, and I lit up. We decided to go for a date night right away. We went relatively early, and we were the only table not at the bar- but the bar was rocking! It didn't matter that we were the only table, the server was very attentive and friendly, and was well informed of the menu. The noise from the bar was appreciated to dull the quiet of the dining room, that is except for the man loudly swearing and explicitly carrying on a half-screamed conversation. Someone eventually shut him up, and peace was restored. We ordered cocktails, mine was a hurricane and it was awesome. To start, I ordered a cup of the soup of the day because it was too unique to pass up: pepperoni pizza soup. It was oddly fantastic. I didn't think I would care for it, but I'll be damned if I don't crave it every now and then. For our entrees, I got the special, which was some sort of pasta with alligator and crawfish in it. It was great. I was pleasantly surprised to get gator, which is one of my favorites, and they did it really well. My girlfriend got the Taste of Bourbon Street ($14.95). That includes Cajun Mac and Cheese, Gumbo, Blackened Catfish, and dirty rice. She loved it, especially the catfish. It was a fun atmosphere that had lively sounds and good food. At some point, the waitress even brought us Mardi Gras beads. It was a great date night. The only thing I'd recommend is going a bit later in the evening- I'm guessing the dining room is more crowded then!

Really good cornbread - not sweet at all and the jalapeno slices make it nifty :)

We went at 5PM and I guess that's too early from the normal crowd, as it was empty! Still, the service was really good and friendly. The Jalapeño cornbread was thankfully not sweet and the spice from the small chunks of peppers was awesome! The salsa I ordered on the side just tasted like Pace, but there is tobasco and cholula on the table! Bit miss for me: The red beans and rice are far from authentic and rather bland, which is a huge no-no for a cajun-style restau!! The sweet potato fries are just OK. But the star was the shrimp taco special - super delicious with plenty of little shrimps in an awesome sauce, red cabbage, and avocados :D

Needless to say, it was crowded and lively, but our table was waiting for us and we were sat immediately. Our server was friendly, attentive, and very helpful with our menu choices, which were limited due to their Madi Gras-only offerings, but also plentiful and varied. My husband decided on the jambalaya, I went with the crawfish étouffée, and we split the roasted Cajun cauliflower as an appetizer. While it's hard for this kind of stew-like, saucy, veggie/sausage/seafood over rice mixtures to present beautifully, everything looked, smelled, and tasted delicious. The jambalaya had a little more of a kick than I prefer, but my husband loved it and my crawfish étouffée had the perfect amount of spice without being spicy. The roasted cauliflower was cooked to perfection and was the perfect way to start the meal. Not pictured is the bananas foster bread pudding that was the perfect way to end it. We both left with extra food to take home and the memory of a wonderful meal and great experience.

Our server was great and the manager came by while we were eating to ask how things were and see if we needed anything. Only thing with server was I did ask 3 times for more water, would have been nice if he just saw and refilled. We started with the hush puppies and meatballs. The hush puppies came with a really interesting sauce. The cheese, flavor and texture were great. The chicken meatballs were good also had a nice sauce. I got the 4pc Pressure Fried Chicken sub collard greens for Mac n cheese to share. They nicely split the meal on two separate plates for us. The fried chicken was really good with a delicious crispy breading. The biscuit and Mac n cheese were alright. The Mac n cheese was nothing special at all. The mashed potatoes and gravy were good, potato skins mixed in. Enjoyed the food and variety of options!

Came on a Monday night with a friend. Food: Really like the menu. Lots of diversity to choose from, and the prices are reasonable. We started with a couple of specialty cocktails. I had the Sazerac, and my friend had the OG Old Fashioned. Both were well made, and there was plenty of alcohol in each. For an appetizer, we got the Frogs on the Mound, which, as you can imagine, is 1/2 lb of frog legs on haystack onion rings. I haven't had frog legs in a while, and I thought these were very good. The breading was light, well seasoned, and not overcooked. The haystack onion rings were just okay. They could have been hotter and maybe seasoned (or just salted) a bit more. For our entrees, I got the Blackened Catfish, and he got the Grouper Tacos. Both of these meals were also very good. The blackened fish was the best part of my meal. It was excellently seasoned, cooked to the right temperature, and moist and flaky. Delicious! The collard greens were good, but would have been better with just a bit more pork. More pork is always better. The rice and beans were good too, but the temperature was less than hot. My friend enjoyed his Grouper Tacos, and the bite he shared with me was very good, except for the green peppers. I much prefer orange or yellow peppers, but I realize that's a personal taste issue. The tacos tasted fresh, the fish was tender, and the portions were good. Service: The place was about a quarter full. Even though we weren't in a hurry, the service got off to a bit of a slow start. After getting waters and menus, it took a while for our server to get back to us. I started to worry that this might be an issue for the rest of the evening, so I made a point of getting their attention. After that, things went smoothly. After ordering appetizers and entrees, the food came out in a timely fashion. All the staff we interacted with were helpful and friendly. Thanks, Sarah 1 and Sarah 2 :) Atmosphere: Besides the separate bar area, the dining room is a big open space with lots of four-top tables spread around. Around the walls there are posters, art pieces, and plenty of Mardi Gras beads. I wasn't sure at the time, but there was something a bit cramped about the interior. After looking at the pictures, I think it might have to do with the low, tiled ceiling. (I think this is the first time I have ever mentioned something about a tiled ceiling.) On this night, it was quiet and easy to have a comfortable conversation. Glad that we finally stopped in for a meal. With the exception of the initial service delay and some small issues with a couple of food items, it was a very good meal. Would definitely want to stop back again to try other parts of the menu.
