Seafood boil with Garlic Noodles and Honey Butter Jalapeo Cornbread
Suliyat O.

I love how they often have seafood boil deals like the weekday or holiday specials - I signed up for the text marketing and the deals have been appealing. I usually go with friends/coworkers because the bags are shareable, or you can get a bag for yourself and have some leftovers. Dining in is always enjoyable, it's very spacious and the playlist will either have you dancing in your seat or singing along between seafood bites. They offer lots of gloves, water, and napkins at their self serve area. They also have a selection of canned sodas (most of the deals/specials come with a free canned drink and jalapeño cornbread ) and cocktails at the bar. They also offer sides like green beans and rice. My favorite side is the garlic butter noodles! I often mix it in with leftover sauce at the bottom of the seafood bag for an added kick. The cornbread is also really good; it has small bits of jalapeño inside and is a great balance of spicy, savory, and sweet.

I came for food and the staff was wonderful. Hannah and Vinny were super interactive and attentive. First time here and I will return. The atmosphere, food, and vibes were amazing. Bathroom was clean.

Highlights/Lowlights 1. Friendly Service 2. Reservations Not Needed* 3. Good Food Full disclosure - I visited Lowcountry on a Tuesday night after attempting to walk in eat at the bar at nearby Vagabond (it was completely packed). I had sort of been holding on trying Lowcountry until the weather warms up because the pictures online of the patio look amazing! We visited (without reservations) before a show at the Marcus Center and surprisingly only a few tables of the expansive Lowcountry space were full. We immediately were able to grab seats at the bar and were greeted by a friendly server. The menu is fairly limited to seafood mains (shrimp, crab legs etc.) as well as chicken wings and ton of side choices. My friend and I split one of the combos which included 10 chicken wings, cornbread and fries. It was only $22 and perfect for 2! The food was pretty good! I wouldn't say they were the best wings and sides Ive ever had but I felt they were fair for the price. This was so convenient to eat before our show that we couldn't pass it up. I will be back to try the patio this summer!

loved the quality of the seafood, and they do a good job on that seafood boil. Highly recommend ordering the garlic noodles for the boil on the side.

This place is soooooo incredibly good. I frequent New Orleans so I typically avoid Cajun style food because it's never right. But this place was exactly that casual taste. Seafood was fresh, decor was beautiful. It's huge too so can accommodate large groups.

Lowcountry milwaukee (there's what I'm assuming is a sister establishment called "Lowcountry Chicago" in of course Chicago) is one of those informal seafood boil places that have sprung up all over in the last couple years. This one sits right on water st in the old bar louie location. They've done up the inside in kind of a outdoor backyard BBQ type of feel with lampposts, picket fences, and picnic tables all over. Due to covid you order at the counter, get a number and they bring you your food as well as a bucket for shells, and a not lobster but crab bib. If you've never been to these places it's messy but that's part of the fun. There's a main Station with a sink for hand washin, utensils, to-go containers and even disposable gloves. They bring your seafood boil in a giant plastic bag on a tray. I didn't really look at the menu that much, just went with combo a - pound of shrimp, 3 potatoes, 2 corns and 2 pieces of corn bread...plus you got a soda with this one for 27 dollars. I would check for signs for specials at the register - after I ordered I noticed a 1/2 shrimp and 1/2 another seafood special at the counter for like 29 bucks. You can choose your heat level...im wimpy so I went with the lowest heat level. Seasoning choices were lemon peppers, garlic or Cajun. I did garlic and it was fine. This isn't a cheap meal obviously but I had leftovers to take home, they split the shrimp for you and they were fresh, and seafood can be pricey even at the grocery store. I'd love to go back and try something else here - great meal.

So this place is a treasure! I got the Combo C with everything sauce (a pound of crab, a pound of shrimp, potatoes, corn and cornbread) and I am still dreaming about how delicious it was. The corn was so soft and delicious. The potatoes were well cooked. The everything sauce was where all the good stuff was. The crab and shrimp soaked in that sauce were a game changer. The crab legs were to die for and the shrimp were soft and sumptuous. The restaurant inside was beautiful with that southern Nola vibes. I plan on trying their beignet next time. They follow all Covid social distancing protocols.

I dined here and sat at the bar. The food was pretty good, I just got crawfish, corn and potato. The service was my main issue as they were just very unprofessional and were taking nonstop shots with the patrons. Typically I'd be fine with it but it was more of a party scene. They offered me shots and I politely declined and it seemed to upset the waitress. Overall, I probably wouldn't come back.

It's in a great location right off the highway by the Public Market. I was greeted immediately by the bartender and a server very quickly came to seat me and supplied me with menus and water while I waited for my friend. He came back immediately when she got there to greet us and see if we needed anything right away. We ordered margaritas and a few appetizers. Shortly after, we ordered dinners. We had biscuits and fried green tomatoes, and we each ordered a different type of spicy chicken sandwich. We both really liked our food. The Nashville hot chicken sandwich was really good and the biscuits were soo good!! The fried green tomatoes were just so-so, but I don't have much to compare it to. Our margaritas were very tasty. The server was fantastic. He was very friendly and attentive, but not over the top. He asked if we wanted more drinks or dessert. We did get another round of drinks. And he refilled our waters, which I appreciated. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant to friends and will be returning! Thanks for a great experience!

St. Paul Fish Market is located inside the very busy and popular Milwaukee Public Market indoor shopping complex downtown. It reminds me of the Pike Place Fish Market in Seattle. The only parking option that I am aware of is metered street parking. The building has 2 levels but the 1st floor is where most of the business are. It appeared to me that St. Paul's is the most popular business there. It is a seafood restaurant and fresh fish market. They have a small sit down area for table service dining or you can order your food to go at the counter. After being seated and reviewing the menu I decided to order the same meal I had over 11 years ago. I went with a bowl of clam chowder for $8 to start and then added a fried grouper sandwich ($16) with french fries for another $2.50. The chowder was perfect. Flavorful, delicious and I wanted more (5). The sandwich also was delicious and satisfying made with quality fish, lettuce, tomato, and bread. However while it tasted very good halfway through eating it the bread bun started to disintegrate and then quickly turned to mush before I could finish. Then I needed a fork to finish it. It got messy and I don't like that in a sandwich. It's only for that reason I give an overall 4 score instead of a 5. The french fries were very good tasting too but I had ordered too much food and only had room for a few of them. The table service was very warm and friendly. I believe St. Paul's is a very good choice for a casual seafood meal but please buy more sturdy buns!

This was also my first trip to the collective as a whole, even though I spend a lot of time in that area. So the collective itself is cute, you have a lot of options in the same space. It can be a little noisy, but it wasn't so bad you couldn't hear. It was a bit distracting and made ordering a little more complicated but overall not super bad. As for the food, I ordered almost one of everything available for us to try. I was super excited to try them too, because honestly egg rolls are just amazing. Each egg roll order came with two egg rolls sliced in half and sat on a bed of French fries. Unfortunately I didn't walk away feeling like we won the flavor lottery. Each roll and filling combined their own distinct flavors but candidly they didn't have a lot of flavor. For example the Philly cheesesteak egg roll was good, but lacked the expected green pepper, onion, cheese flavor I expect from a Philly cheesesteak. The Chi, a play on vegan roast beef, had the oddest flavor to it. It wasn't bad, just really unexpected. We couldn't figure out what the flavor was. I felt it was a citrus flavor but that was just my take and even I am not confident in that. The hot chick (I think it was called) was the one I really wanted to try, because I love a Nashville hot chicken sandwich. It pretty much just tasted like hot sauce with a little liquid smoke (which is gross and I smelled/tasted it in a lot of the foods and sauces). There weren't any other flavors I picked up on. I love Tabasco as much as the next person, but I was hopeful for more. I don't want to come off as disapproving of the food, honestly some people may love it and that's ok. It just wasn't for me. It's almost like in the process of frying the rolls they surrendered all flavor to a flavor that can only be described as bland fried food. I really wanted to love the food, but I can't lie about it. It was worth the shot to try something new, but it's a one and done for me.

However, I went this past weekend and once again was so disappointed in their steak. They are definitely using a lower quality meat and at $68+ you just can't do that. My family is/has been in the restaurant business my whole life. Capitol Grill is cutting corners. I certainly understand that beef has skyrocketed however in lieu of that, offer a smaller portion-do not skimp on the quality. I was not the only one who had an inferior steak. Everyone who ordered it complained. It's not that it wasn't cooked properly. It is a poorer grade than should be served at this type of restaurant and cost. The sides were great as well as their deserts but that is not the main course. They should make the main course "shine". People will remember a fibrous steak even though the sides are good. Unfortunately someone has to say something or they will continue and that is a shame. Not everyone has unlimited funds to dine out. There are people who save up for months for a special occasion and end up with sub-par food. I certainly hope the management hears the message.
