I was visiting a friend in Milwaukee and got a seafood boil craving so we came here for a weekend dinner. It was busy but not packed, like 70-80% full. I ordered one of the combos and added mussels on the side which I highly recommend. Got the mixed sauce with no heat because spicy food is not my thing, and it was still super flavorful. The snow crab was the standout for me, so good so juicy! Shrimp is a classic must, potatoes and corn were yummy, and the mussels were 10/10. Also, the corn bread was A+++!! If you can't do spicy or just don't like heat, don't let that stop you from coming here because you can still have a great meal. Price point is also really reasonable especially if you're sharing. The setup for taking food to go is easy and convenient, and there's a hand washing station in the middle of the restaurant which is practical. I love how they often have seafood boil deals like the weekday or holiday specials - I signed up for the text marketing and the deals have been appealing. I usually go with friends/coworkers because the bags are shareable, or you can get a bag for yourself and have some leftovers. Dining in is always enjoyable, it's very spacious and the playlist will either have you dancing in your seat or singing along between seafood bites. They offer lots of gloves, water, and napkins at their self serve area. They also have a selection of canned sodas (most of the deals/specials come with a free canned drink and jalapeño cornbread ) and cocktails at the bar. They also offer sides like green beans and rice. My favorite side is the garlic butter noodles! I often mix it in with leftover sauce at the bottom of the seafood bag for an added kick. Service is kinda weird. It's odd that you only ever seen the servers when they bring the food out and then never again. We visited (without reservations) before a show at the Marcus Center and surprisingly only a few tables of the expansive Lowcountry space were full. We immediately were able to grab seats at the bar and were greeted by a friendly server. The menu is fairly limited to seafood mains (shrimp, crab legs etc.) as well as chicken wings and ton of side choices. My friend and I split one of the combos which included 10 chicken wings, cornbread and fries. It was only $22 and perfect for 2! The food was pretty good! I wouldn't say they were the best wings and sides Ive ever had but I felt they were fair for the price. This was so convenient to eat before our show that we couldn't pass it up. The playlist is usher. The bar is only liquor (with beer cans available), looking upwards, the atmosphere is cool outdoor street vibe, but the tables are outdoor bbq. And the menu is seafood. So the aesthetic is a little overworked, but the food is really good and the atmosphere is laid back. Lowcountry milwaukee (there's what I'm assuming is a sister establishment called "Lowcountry Chicago" in of course Chicago) is one of those informal seafood boil places that have sprung up all over in the last couple years. This one sits right on water st in the old bar louie location. They've done up the inside in kind of a outdoor backyard BBQ type of feel with lampposts, picket fences, and picnic tables all over. Due to covid you order at the counter, get a number and they bring you your food as well as a bucket for shells, and a not lobster but crab bib. If you've never been to these places it's messy but that's part of the fun. There's a main Station with a sink for hand washin, utensils, to-go containers and even disposable gloves. They bring your seafood boil in a giant plastic bag on a tray. I didn't really look at the menu that much, just went with combo a - pound of shrimp, 3 potatoes, 2 corns and 2 pieces of corn bread...plus you got a soda with this one for 27 dollars. I would check for signs for specials at the register - after I ordered I noticed a 1/2 shrimp and 1/2 another seafood special at the counter for like 29 bucks. You can choose your heat level...im wimpy so I went with the lowest heat level. Seasoning choices were lemon peppers, garlic or Cajun. I did garlic and it was fine. This isn't a cheap meal obviously but I had leftovers to take home, they split the shrimp for you and they were fresh, and seafood can be pricey even at the grocery store. The corn was so soft and delicious. The potatoes were well cooked. The everything sauce was where all the good stuff was. The crab and shrimp soaked in that sauce were a game changer. We had a large group (12) and were going to stop in to Low Country just for a drink. As soon as we walked in the door, the savory aroma of Cajun cooking enveloped us and made our mouths water. We knew we had to try their food. To our surprise, they were able to seat our group in the dining area immediately. Drinks were on point, the food was fantastic, and the service was impeccable. I was really interested in trying a seafood boil. My husband took me to this restaurant. The customer service sucks. We were there to eat together and well we didn't. His food came first and mine came about 20 minutes after he was done. I picked lemon pepper shrimp. It was fine until 8 shrimp in. I love how they have remodeled it and all of the different seating selections they have. They seat you, give you a menu, when you are ready you go up to the counter and order then they bring it out to your table. Very easy process and the food doesn't take too long to come out. My friend and I ordered the crab and crawfish combo and added shrimp. It was plenty of food for us to share easily, almost too much. Comes with corn, potatoes and jalapeño cornbread. We ordered all seasonings hot spice level. That was plenty of heat for me, anything higher I don't think I would have been able to eat it. The manager was walking through and asked us if he could get us anything and how we were doing. He was extremely nice. I would definitely come up here again. We loved ii! We came in a Sunday right away at 4pm. before the crowd got there. They were nice enough to let us in a few minutes early. A hostess explained how to order. They give you a menu to browse at the table and you go to the counter to order. You choose your protein, veggies, sauce, and add ons. We had a special with shrimp, a small lobster, crab legs, corn, and potatoes. We also added sausage links and garlic noodles. You get corn bread included. There are several sauces to choose from. We had the everythang sauce which is a mixture of all the sauces. They bring the bag to the table and cut it open in front of you. They offer bibs and gloves so you don't stain your clothes. It was the two of us and we were happy with portion size and the flavor was off the charts! They recommended using the noodles to stop up the sauce. This place is Cracking! It'll also have you cracking crab legs and lobster tails! Walking into Lowcountry Milwaukee first thing I noticed is how spacious it is! there is so much room in there which was nice for social distancing protocols. I honestly really enjoyed it, but the only disappointment was the lack of amount of food. It is pretty pricey so I at least expected to have a bigger portion of food for the price. I'd never had a seafood boil before my friend's family and I went here. I had the shrimp boil and it was delicious! It's a family run, Laotian-American business. Mindy is the owner and she came by our table to talk with us, she helped my friend's 16 year-old son learn how to "suck head" with his crawfish boil, talked & spent time with us and the atmosphere was great! My friend said it was one of the best times he'd had at any restaurant and his older daughter, who had tried seafood boils at other places in Milwaukee, said it was the best food of the 4 or 5 she had tried. Unimpressive for the price. You are sat down with a menu, but then have to go back up to the front to order and pay immediately. If you'd like an alcoholic beverage you have to go to the bar to order and pay separately. This is the third "seafood boil" restaurant I have been to in the Midwest, but this was the least impressive. My wife had the crawfish and they were lackluster. I had the shrimp and included the sausage, eggs, green beans, potatoes, and cauliflower. Mine alone was almost $50 which was insane. $22ish for the shrimp alone was a rip off. I LOVED the veggies! I've never seen the assortment of veggie offerings before- which is why I tried to much. (I did take home a large amount of leftovers and shared.) We would've been interested in getting a 2nd round of drinks- but it's impossible when you are elbows deep in seafood oil and are expected to go up to the bar and have to pull out your card again. Overall the ambiance was confusing to say the least. A weak attempt at a New Orleans vibe paired with impossibly loud current R&B music that made it difficult to have conversations. And only saw an employee/ "server" maybe twice in an hour and a half. The only redeeming quality was I somehow ended up with a single set of snow crab legs in my bag that I did not pay for. Very rude unprofessional staff, Ive supported this business many times over the years and formerly had great experiences. Recently though service has declined. They do not answer the phone, I have tried to call multiple times to confirm hours, place to go orders. Most recently I decided to go in as phone was not answered after giving it a few tries only to find the restaurant empty, employees on their own phones, no greetings and rather impolite/bothered. I explained I called and no one answered also that online ordering system wasn't working. I was met with a very dismissive response that "it works on their end and out of their control if on my end there was an issue. Which would've been palatable if it were delivered politely or simply professionally as I can understand technical difficulty. However, the staff gets zero stars. My last 3 experiences now have been less than positive which is disappointing as we loved this location when it first opened.
