Stopped by here to read on my day off in Monday at about 2pm and the vibe was so cozy! I got the Great Gatsby sandwich which is their best seller, it was so delicious and freshly made. I also got their Arnold Palmer which was good but I think the tea might've been a bit overbrewed since it was a bit bitter (not a big deal though). Service was pretty quick (7 min). Place was pretty packed with students studying and had outdoor seating. No AC which made it a bit hot since outside was about 70s, but I didnt mind. read more

This happens to be one of my favorite coffee and sandwich spots in Lincoln Park! Located right off of Fullerton, Bourgeois Pig has a huge selection of coffee beverages, sodas, sandwiches and baked goods. I haven't had the opportunity to eat much food on the menu aside from their breakfast items. The burrito and panini are both amazing and so big I often need to get a box to take half of it home. Now that it's nice outside, I especially love the patio seating. They can get pretty busy on weekends, but the staff does a great job running food to tables and calling out names for beverage orders. So cute and cozy!! I just visited Bourgeois Pig for the first time yesterday and I absolutely get the hype. The fact that its a full on house turned cafe is so cool. This place is bursting with charm and character. Bookshelves, fireplace, exposed brick, and even a patio....I want to move in. I came before the lunch rush (and thank goodness - this place gets busy). I ordered lox on an everything bagel and an iced latte. The latte was very solid as was the lox! I grabbed a table in one of the rooms and knocked out a couple hours of work. The internet worked pretty well considering how many people were here. It was a pretty day so lots of people were enjoying the patio space and I even saw some cute puppies out there! Seriously this place is as cute as a button and I cannot wait to come back. I also just learned they are open in the evening for cocktails. So fun!! read more

One of my go to spots! I've been here so many times so here's my synopsis - Vibes are GREAT but very overwhelming space when it's crowded. My favorite time to go is when it's just warm enough for the patio in the sunshine! (If you can get a seat). I have found it's easier to find tables outside than inside though. Ordering and people waiting for food/drinks to be called gets a little congested but usually goes quick! I absolutely love the great Gatsby panini - one of the best. Every other sandwich I have had has just been ok. The coffee is decent but not outstanding. It's a good reliable spot for cozy neighborhood vibes and lots of options! read more

Perfect place to get work done and have breakfast/lunch at. I got a latte with their homemade granola + yogurt and everything was delicious! I spent over 4 hours working from here because I loved how cozy and inviting the space is. It got pretty busy during lunch time, so if you want to snag a good spot you should probably come before 11am on a weekday. The staff was wonderful and attentive. I love this place. There's really nowhere like it. It truly feels like you are here in the olden days and ready to hang out by candle light while the horses wait outside. My husband and I booked an adventure in the city that takes us around little restaurants in Lincoln Park to "collect" food and end with a picnic in Oz Park and just... so much fun! This was our first stop. What a cute little cafe with the sweetest register girl. She was young and so cute. We got turkey sandwiches, chips and drinks here. The sandwiches were delicious. I mean. So good. They didn't offer traditional diet drinks which later turned into such a blessing cuz my sugars dropped and I needed sugar. They had an interesting coffee pop. Delicious. This place has a lot of love online, people are always saying "check out this Lincoln Park Gem". Overall being in Lincoln park can be weird, it's very young or bourgeois if you will. This place is okay, they do not have sparkling water which to me was upsetting, but not the make - break moment. We came here on Juneteenth, around 11am and it was not crowded when we arrived but it took quite a while to get our items. There were 3 adults and 1 child. We sat outside and they do deliver your food out there. They also have an upstairs with seats. I got the Walt Whitman, it was nothing like a chicken Caesar salad wrap and they do not advertise it as such but I mislead myself. It was good but the cheese melted on it was weird to me, and it did not have the right amount of sauce. I also got a cold brew. They do have chips for purchase and smoothies. My kid got a smoothie and enjoyed it, it was strawberry and banana. It's got a college vibe, not bad. read more

Really cool cafe in an old converted house near DePaul University. However, being located so close to the school means it is always packed with people studying or catching up. Nothing wrong with that, but good luck finding a spot. We managed to find a small table upstairs in the back to get some work done. The Vietnamese Iced Lattes were great. They do have free WiFi but for some reason anytime I use a Mac it is extremely slow but no issue with Windows. read more

It is very busy around 1 pm on a Saturday. Thankfully we got in line before a rush but still had to wait a long time for the food to come out. It felt like at least 40 min. If you order it to eat at the cafe, they will bring the food to you calling out your name. They don't seat you so you have to stand around and look for an open table. The vibes were chill and quiet both inside and out. Lot of people inside were studying or working on something. My friends' sandwiches looked amazing. My sandwich Henry VIII was a large sandwich and didn't look very exciting. The ingredients they used seemed fresh, but overall, it tasted like a standard roast beef sandwich. I saw horseradish but missed that it was mild. I was definitely stuffed after finishing it, but I probably wouldn't order again. This is personal taste though. I enjoy more meals with busier flavors. I would come back to try another sandwich. FYI, you can order half sandwiches which is what I'll probably do next time, and don't forget to grab a bag of chips to go with your sandwich! read more

This place is always packed!!! The great gatsby sandwich is best if going for lunch, their breakfast options are all amazing too (I think the bowl is my favorite). Their brownies are so good they literally sell out by like 9 am I swear. Their lattes are delicious! And always fun new specials to try. The staff is always friendly despite being so slammed. Can be hard to find seating during the weekends and afternoons, especially with the DePaul studiers. Great outdoor patio!!! I love the first floor ambiance and it's a really nice spot to hangout for a little bit in the middle of your day. It tends to get pretty busy in the middle of the day so wait times may be a bit long; when it's slow it only takes like 5 minutes to be in and out but one time it took around like 15 for a cup of coffee. read more

I had just arrived at a table and my boyfriend was up ordering for us, when the man with black glasses and a black cap came up and knocked on the table saying, "We are going to need that table soon". I say "Sure" thinking they reserved the table for an event. But he goes on to say that people are looking for tables and that there's a 90 min hold on tables. I informed him I just got here and he rudely asked whether I paid for anything yet (maybe because I'm not white??) and I told him yes. i came here for breakfast/brunch with my friend who was visiting and i ordered the burrito bowl but i got the breakfast burrito, and i didn't end up saying anything because the burrito was actually really good! everything tasted really fresh and you get a lot of food for your money. my friend got the hamlet sandwich which he said was really good as well. i love the homey feel of bourgeois and the service is always consistent. i will say that on busier days its rlly hard to find a spot to sit which can be a little frustrating; excited for warmer days so we can sit outside comfortably!! read more

There was a dry scone but I was willing to overlook it because of the decent coffee, friendly people, and good vibe. I have since tried the breakfast bowl--twice--and enjoyed the fresh ingredients and the colorful presentation (sour cream is a great add). But you know what the kitchen's original sin is? The use of a microwave to prepare eggs. There are at least seven better ways to prepare eggs--to include boiling--and I can't think of a worse way. Trying hard and some lovely bits here, but we need to up the kitchen's game a notch. This is an indicator, and it's not a great one. read more

Came to grab a coffee. Firstly I love the building itself which is a home converted into a store. It has an upstairs and downstairs as well as out door seating so tonnes of seating available. They serve food, coffee and wine + beer. I got my usual, a doppio and a latte. I enjoyed the latte, the doppio not so much(coffee beans weren't roasted the best). The building itself holds a lot of history and the decore includes paintings of presidents, book shelves and 1900's memorabilia. There are lights outside for the outdoor seating while classical music is played inside. It's a good place to come relax, grab a drink and a bite. Although all I got was a slice of cake, the food aroma does smell pleasant. I believe they sell mostly sandwiches and soups, don't hold me to that, check their menu. Been going here consistently lately, and it's always been wonderful. So cozy, love the college student energy, and the drinks and staff are always superb. You have to get over the dirty/dusty feel, but it's clean where you need it to be and the old Lincoln Park mansion vibe makes it worth it. read more

Stopped in around 1pm on a weekday and the line was long. It moved fairly quickly though. I ordered an Italian panini, which came out pretty quickly too. The bread was fresh, but the sandwich was a bit soggy and messy and didn't seem properly pressed. The taste was amazing though. Sandwich was served with a pickle spear. The Catcher in the Rye was the absolute worst sandwich I've ever had in my life. 95% gristle and fat, just writing about it makes me want to vomit (I wish I would!). The Hamlet was 90% bun, not a baguette with a few thin slices of ham--so bad my wife threw out the half she didn't eat as soon as we got home. I've loved the Bourgeois Pig for years now. Unfortunately, my experiences as of late have been pretty rough. Today I dropped in to get a sandwich to go. I usually love the Great Gatsby sandwich, but it just wasn't very good. I don't think it was made right (I think missing some ingredients like bacon, etc.). It also took over 20 minutes. It's extremely overpriced - I paid $18 for this sandwich. They used to give a small bag of chips with it but I guess they don't do that anymore. The employees were doing their best. - so there's a star for them. They probably could lower their prices just a bit, get more trained staff, and go back to the quality of sandwiches they had pre-pandemic. (I know it's hard to hire, etc right now...and could totally overlook the other stuff, but $18 for a sandwich that I only eat half of? Probably not worth it.) read more
