I stopped in for a couple of quick drinks, and while the atmosphere had a decent sports bar vibe, the overall experience was a bit of a mixed bag. When I first sat at the bar, the service was quite slow. There were four staff members huddled around a monitor laughing while several of us at the bar were waiting to be acknowledged. Once they did come over, one of them was very friendly and attentive for the rest of my stay, but that first impression definitely stuck with me. As a visitor, the pours felt a bit small for my Jameson shot. I've since learned that Utah has some unique (and strict) liquor laws regarding measurements, so that likely explains it! BTPG is the go to sports bar for the burbs of SLC. I come here every 5 years or so and it gets better time after time. French fries are served hot Idaho cut with home made fry sauce. Beer price is fair with option to refill your take home growlers. Bout time is a good Time! read more

I enjoyed everything here, except the main part of my order. We came in on a Friday evening and had plenty of tables to choose from which was nice. I absolutely loved our server, as she was full of energy and very attentive. Our food and drinks came out quickly and everything was correct. The service was the best part about this place; our server deserved a 5 star rating! Our server recommended the shot I ordered and it definitely didn't disappoint! It was a green apple shot that went down like juice; super tasty. The only thing I didn't enjoy at this Bout Time location was their cheesesteak. Normally, it's my favorite thing on their menu. But this one came out with a completely flavorless steak that couldn't even be saved by the onions, peppers and cheese. The bread also ended up falling apart on the bottom which made it difficult to eat. At least the tater tots were crispy.. While I was impressed by the service here, I'm probably going to avoid this location in the future out of fear that my food will come out under-seasoned. I get that every restaurant may have its off-days, but I've been to a different Bout Time location multiple times, that offers consistently good food. I was craving fish tacos a nice fish fillet (fried ) with the cabbage and the sauce and the pico but once I got the tacos and almost seemed like they took one fillet and they cut it up and put it in three tacos wasn't a lot of fish. It was impossible to carry on a conversation without screaming, and I noticed people at another table occasionally covering their ears. WOW! What a menu! Who couldn't find something they like. We had a great lunch among friends. I ordered the Reuben sandwich with fries, my wife ordered the Turkey Avocado sandwich with tots and our friend ordered the Irish Nachos. Those were fun and different, reminded me of loaded potato skins. Beverages were plentiful, though we thought it odd they didn't have any ciders on tap. There are several cideries in Salt Lake I am sure would love to contact with this restaurant chain. I'm reviewing this for two separate visits, both day and night experiences. First visit 6/3/22 - while our food and drinks were good (I got the chubby melt which I didn't read it was between 2 grilled cheese sandwiches and it was good but so big!), our server was mediocre at best. Our party of 7 came during the day and it was no where near busy. Sat at the bar like table across the actual bar. The 2 that showed up first ordered drinks, shots and an appetizer. As the rest of us trickled in, she got our drink orders for alcohol and she'll come back to do our regular drink order. She came back to take our other drink order and we couldn't place an order for appetizer because she'll come back to do that. She's back - we order our food. We get our drinks - both kinds. She was quick to replace our alcohol but not our water/soda. I ate my ice because she forgot to bring the water I asked for. She forgot things we specifically asked for when ordering our alcohol then didn't bring them out. She wanted to cash us out because she was leaving but we weren't anywhere near done. The person relieving her was better than she was at checking if we were okay and cleaning up because our server didn't remove plates or cups from our table. She kept telling us we were out of order when we would order things even though we didn't move from the minute we sat down. If I based my visit on her service, I'd probably choose elsewhere to go with my group. You gotta do more than smile and have an excuse when you're forgetting things. Also asked for a receipt and didn't get it. Fast forward a week later on 6/10, server was amazing! It was packed as the games were on that evening. Starr (name on my receipt is Starlie) was attentive, quick, polite, didn't make excuses as to how the system works which btw she just went to the person she needed to checkout which HELLO was the person NEXT to the one she just checked out and I would look for a table in her area the next time I come in. Food was still good, I had the Monte Cristo egg rolls with jam and ranch for dipping. Nope didn't dip those together, just wanted to try ranch on them ;) My sisters enjoyed their meals - nachos, Irish nachos, fries and a quesadilla. I also ordered 3 alcoholic beverages which I remember two of them were Dragon's Nectar and I don't remember the other. Lemon drop for my shot. This sports bar is in a good location, decent atmosphere, although most of the seats are tall with tall tables, my knees can't take sitting on them. I need normal height seats and tables. I shoulda ordered any of the other options I was considering when I met friends here for lunch. Cobb salad looked good, didn't get it but a friend did. She said it was delicious. Also thought about the turkey and avocado sandwich which another friend ordered and said it was really good. Three of us ordered the fish and chips. The beer battered cod was really good, but gotta say the hand sliced potato chips were disappointing to all of us. It was hot, spicy and made my body dance in my seat it was so dang good! The wings themselves were huge, meaty, loaded with awesome flavor! The wings were over the top fantastic. Even the veggies served were crisp, fresh cut, fresh rinsed, and crunchy. The sauce was Bleu Cheese, with chunks of Bleu cheese. I like my Bleu cheese sauce a little thicker, but it was still spot on. My friend ordered the prime rib at the fair price with the fixins for $10! Baked potato, vegetables, horse radish and an end piece. Bout time is loud because it's a Sports bar, there are TV'S showing various sports games being played. Bout time offers tall tables and chairs and regular tables and chairs. The menu is extensive, from craft beer to wines to shots that look very yummy to take home growlers. We'll be back. Definitely. Been coming here since I live in the Tah since 2015 and I can honestly say in 100s of visits never had a bad time here. Even though it's a loud sports bar, the friends I've made over the years make up for that. I love their food and Larry n Sara are always on point. The only thing I question is the fry sauce.......‍. Pricing is reasonable and there's a lot in Jordan Landing to see and do. This one is a bit calmer than the other ones around the SLC are so it's my preferred BT when here. When it comes to a sports bar with cold beer and good food, you can't go wrong with this location. Usually pretty attentive bar tenders and servers and a good selection of beers (on tap or otherwise). Their sliders are awesome (the cheeseburger kind) and the beers are cold. read more

They moved their location over by Famous Dave's and the Verizon store in Jordan Landing. I prefer it across from the movie theater, but the place expanded which is really nice! Food at bout time is usually a hit or miss with me. It this time, it was a HIT! Bacon wrapped olives --WHAT!?!?-- Yup I said said. Bacon wrapped olives and it's delicious! Comes with a side of bleu cheese or you can ask for ranch like me! Bacon was extra crispy and the olives were huge! If only they used olives with cheese inside (hint hint nudge nudge). I know I'm trying to eat healthy and all that jazz so I ordered the 1/2 sandwich and salad combo. When they told me I couldn't pick my own salad of my choice, I was sad. BUT THEN! When my turkey avocado sandwich comes out, my salad is all dressed up and colorful! I did not expect to see a nice salad at a bar so I was excited! Our bartender was super nice and very knowledgeable with the beers on the menu. I'm a dark beer drinker and if Guinness isn't available on tap, I struggle to find a good dark beer in a bottle. Our server recommended the devastator and the nitro ale. Between the two, I prefer the devastator. Lots of tables and space if you plan to bring a large group (like ladies night for 50 shades of gray) and $1.00 pool tables. There's only a couple of pool tables so if that's your plan, you may have to wait. I'm definitely coming back and trying an actual salad! read more

Showed up on a Saturday night thinking it might be busy. It wasn't at all! First strike, we didn't get served for at least 15 min when we sat down. I had to go to the bar to get our own drinks going. Second strike, we sat at an empty table but apparently there was some people sitting there and our waitress asked to move. We were polite and moved not knowing, but for the whole time we were there no one came back! When we left still no one came to sit back down. Third strike, we finally got drinks from a waitress but apparently for being a slow night they don't teach be on top of your tables and make sure their drinks are filled. It took a while for our refills to come but it makes sense when your waitress is on her phone with her feet kicked up in the corner. I would not recommend this place at all! This was one of my first yelp reviews several years ago. I was a little down on this place back then, mostly because of their lacking local beer menu and their propensity for putting everything in a frosty mug. I'm pretty sure they've backed off on the frosty mug thing, but either way I'm a little bit over worrying about it. Now I take this place on their own terms. They are a sports bar and they do sports bar well. A few of their long-time bartenders that I didn't like have left and I have had excellent service there very consistently. There's one guy who works the bar most nights I've been there and if you close your eyes and listen to him talk I swear he sounds exactly like Edward Norton. He's an excellent bartender, so if you can sit in his section I suggest you do so. They have moved. Previously they were near the movie theatre and had their outdoor seating in that courtyard and it was a good atmosphere. I also like the character of the interior at that location. Their new location across the street in the section that sits between Barnes and Noble and Kohl's is not bad, but the interior is just a big box and the patio looks out onto a parking lot. I'd say the view of the TVs isn't quite as good, either, even though they have a lot of TVs. Since it's a big box you kind of have to look at a far wall to see a TV. We're in Utah and we have one major sports team (sorry Real Salt Lake, it's not you). I have gone there with Jazz fans and sometimes on my own after work when a Jazz game is on and they make no special effort to put Jazz games on the TVs. If there's like a cross-fit challenge or sports center on it's going to get more TV realestate than a Jazz game. I'm sorry but that's just wrong. I can't give 5 stars for that alone, and they're lucky to get 4. read more

I've been a fan of Bout Time Pub & Grub for a while, but this is definitely my favorite of all their locations. Sports bars seem to be a common thing in the Salt Lake area of late, and there's plenty of competition, but Bout Time is one of the better ones in my opinion. This location is big and well laid out with a huge bar with lots of seating, a good outside area and plenty of TV's. It's a great atmosphere for some drinks, decent food, meeting friends and I'm sure for watching a game (I'm not big into sports I'll be honest - I just like the vibe of these places). Service has always been great here and generally pretty fast, and it's always been friendly. The food selection is really good, there's something for everyone with all the usual bar favorites, but a lot of quite unique items also - it's a very varied menu. Food is pretty good by bar standards and it's good value for money to boot. The beer selection is really good too. So what's not to love? - Not much! read more

Waiters spend too much time chit chatting with each other and other patrons and pay no attention to other tables. Star is insanely inappropriate. She sits there and flirts with men that are with wive and girlfriends just to get a tip. Have some class and self respect instead of being desperate for a tip.
